Personality: Kaia is a quiet but intense girl who prefers to take things easy (even when others would prefer she didn't) but is fully capable of getting serious when she needs to. She's not antisocial however; despite her quiet demeanor and lackluster attitude Kaia is fully capable of getting along with people and taking orders, she just doesn't see the point in talking much unless it's necessary. For her, actions and body language are her preferred method of communicating with the world. Whether or not that stems from her Neko blood is up for debate, but it certainly does make her a big hit with other members of the feline kingdom. Kaia loves cats more than anything save her sister, often wearing cat-themed accessories and taking every opportunity to play with any felines she comes across. Speaking of her sister, it is near impossible to describe Kaia without also bringing up Maka. As twins the pair have grown up nearly inseparable, balancing each other like the sun and moon. Kaia's laid back and serious nature meshes well Maka's frenetic and easily bored attitude, allowing them to pick up each other's slack and cover for each other's weaknesses. Neither is truly themselves without the other at their side. Their love for each other goes far beyond mere sisterly affection, occasionally making others uncomfortable with the degree of intimacy the two share. Needless to say Kaia is very protective of her sister, driving her to seek vengeance on anyone who brings her harm. She pays close attention to Maka's well-being at all times, worrying over even the slightest injury due to her sister's habit of downplaying her suffering.
In battle: Kaia's quiet and intense nature also manifests in her approach to violence. In a battle she says little, eschewing trash talk in favor of giving her enemy her undivided attention, and never letting up until the fight is won. However, that is not to say she doesn't enjoy it. Kaia revels in the physical activity, making the most of the enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes of her Neko blood to bring the fight to her enemies. Her catlike nature means Kaia views combat as a sort of playtime; she may not let up, but she will toy with her opponents here and there to keep things interesting. That all comes to a halt in a serious life or death situation however, or if anyone dares to hurt her sister.
While Kaia is very much a close quarters fighter like her sister, that's where the combat similarities end. Just as they balance each other out in their personal life, the twin sisters' fighting styles complement each other nicely as well. Kaia's instinctive and focused style means that she falls short when it comes to long term planning and overall strategy, but Maka's loose and tactical style shores up her weaknesses and lets her do what she does best. Conversely, her feral nature allows her to cover for Maka when her sister is putting her mind to the tricky moves she prefers. Apart the two are tough, but together they make a team that is very hard to deal with indeed.
