The desert was strange once one called it home. Aiyana Shuer had found a lot out about herself in the recent past, and it had led to some radical decisions; if one went by the opinions of those that did not know her well. After finding out about her family, and the people she came from, the Celestial Spirit had decided to take charge of her beliefs and make something out of it. It had not taken long to find a place to call home, a massive city abandoned long ago to the desert, as well as claim it as the guild hall for the one that would be started from this day forward known as Pharaoh's Call.

The guild had one goal in mind; to help all those that need it, and to provide good health and protection for anyone. No killing of any kind was allowed, unless absolutely necessary. A call had gone forth across Fiore, and other lands she could manage to get word to, that an independant guild was looking for members willing to work for the greater good; including following the rules given to them.

Now she sat upon a throne, two of the remaining people of her race standing to either side of her to keep her comfortable with any demands she had, as she awaited the appearance of any that might come to help in her ideals.

Izayoi didn't like deserts, to much sand and sand had a nasty tendency to get in places that you didn't want or know it could get. But here she was deep in the middle of a desert trying to figure out why the hell she was here again, she sighed as she looked up to Aiyana, sitting on her throne like some queen. Izayoi may find it distasteful but she would not claim to be much better, she had her legions, servants that will do her will to the letter. She walked off and scouted a nice spot to set up a lab, she wanted to get something out of this and if she had to live in a sandy pit she was gonna have a nice home at the very least. She wondered whom else had joined the guild and only time would tell.

    'Almost.. there..'

Even though being at the verge of breaking down, Agol tried to push on. Trying to talk out loud, in order to encourage himself, trying to scrape every bit of dwindling energy he had. Just to climb yet another dune in the endless sands of the Forgotten Desert.

Normally a dune would be a piece of cake, nothing but tiresome as it was boring. If it wasn't for the continuous scorching heat from the sun, and the shifting sands that scraped all around him. Even his protective clothing, a garb of white cloth that he himself had wrapped himself in entirely. Barely held any protection against the harsh and natural phenomena of such a barren wasteland.

But why, why would a single men face the dangers nature had to offer. Well to answer that we have to look back a couple of days. When Agol was sitting at the local tavern of his village, being at the end of his ropes. As he had until now found nothing, nothing at all, that could even suggest that there was an ancient civilization out there in the lands of death and sand.
It had been a relentless quest, one without many rewards. Why he continued, even he didn't knew. Somehow he just did. Only so that he could prove, that he and his fellow villagers were vague descendants of an ancient people long gone. After they had to come from somewhere? They weren't originally from Fiore. They were to different from that, nor were they from Desiertio. No, his people originated from something else. Something old and forgotten, Algol just knew it.

Either way, just when he was about to give up after yet another failure of an expedition, he heard something peculiar. It was nothing but a rumor, talked about some of the other patrons in the tavern itself. A vague notion of something, or someone calling out to join a guild in the most desolated of places.

On the map it would say that there was nothing, in fact no one ever found anything there. So why would someone ask others to come and seek him or her out. Some figured it was a trap, others just disregarded it as some rumor and nothing else. Yet Agol just felt something, something told him that this might be his last chance to ever prove that there was something more out there.

Who would have knew that after all his efforts he was finally being rewarded. As Agol reached the top of the very dune he was climbing just earlier. His jaw dropped, as he was being met with a sight he had never seen before.
There in the distance, surrounded by the sand. Was an entire city, of unknown origin. A magnificent sight, an oasis of ancient architecture. And for Agol the place of his salvation.

He pressed on, faster and faster. Almost falling down the dune as he tried to ran with the last of his strength through the sand. Until his feet felt the harsh pavement of a street leading him towards the large gate of this unknown land.

The desert. Was he dead? Was this the final desert? The one that you had to cross and face all of the darkness in your lives and finally receive your just desserts? Perhaps for some it was and in a way for him it was. Crossing this desert was the first challenge on his new life. He flexed his hands as he walked through the desert the heat pounding down on his leather clothing burning his skin beneath, but whilst it hurt heavily he did not let it bother him. The desert had to be crossed. He didn't know why. He just knew it had to be done and only then would his wings be allowed to unfurl once more. His body felt heavy, weak and it seemed to be fighting against him at every turn. A few days ago he could have turned this desert into a sandstorm just be running, but ever since the event he no longer had that kind of power. He could feel it deep within him but he couldn't reach it. Gates upon gates barred his path. Little trickles of the power escaped, but nothing more. This was his punishment. A punishment for abusing the gifts of a god. The only way to break those barriers? To help the world, especially mankind.

"Cross the desert and heed the call of the Pharoah...only then when will your wings I unbind Ammon." those were the words that had echoed in his mind since he awoke on the edge of his desert. He had no idea how large it was, how long it would take to cross. He had no idea what the call of the pharoah was. He exhaled deeply as he reached the top of the dune and that was when it happened. His body couldn't take no more and he fell to his knees sliding down the large mountain of sand.

As he slid his mind began to wander. Ahead of him he saw the shimmer of an oasis. A mirage? Or reality? He did not know, but when he reached the bottom of the hill he began to crawl towards it. It was taking every inch of his strength to even move a few inches now. The sand was scorching his flesh even more than the heat and the leather caused it to rub against his body. He was in agony now, but he did not stop. He could not stop. If he did not reach that oasis he would surely die. If it was an illusion he would surely die. It was his only chance or at least so he thought.

Sandile had been crawling around in the Forgotten Deserts, cause he loves sand and had just wanted to enjoy him self some. After like two days of doing nothing but having fun in the sand and sun plus here and there naps. Sandile had been watching where he was going and slammed right into a wall of some kind. Ouch! as others would here it as Sandile!

Sandile then looked ahead of him self and saw a very big building and bridges that didn't look like they went far enough to get to the building. It was all sitting in what looked like a sink hole but it didn't seem to phase Sandile that it may not have been a place to go to. He slid down to one of the bridges and hopped up on it then went to the middle of it. Sandile could tell the bridges would get very warm from the sun at the right angel. So he had just laid down right there in the middle of it can curled up an went to sleep, waiting for the right angel for the sun to heat up Sandile and he very much enjoys the heat.

    Mystery Medal:

Mina continued to flip the small little medal in her hand over and over as she hovered above the desert sand. A while back she had come across the small golden object and had spent the past couple of weeks trying to figure out why she felt like she knew about it. The hexagonal medal was barely half the size of her palm and had a pair of what look to be demon wings engraved in the center on it. In the middle where the wings met at their joining was an empty socket just big enough to hold what could have been a decent size marble. The hole had the same size that was like the marble that was implanted in her doll-like body housing her powers and spirit.

When she left the town of Rose Garden she was told of a possible place in the middle of the desert by an elderly traveler that could possibly help out with her search. He said that he had seen signs with the wings on them like the one on the medal on old broken down pillars near the desert village that dwelled in the middle of the Forgotten Desert. Looking back on the situation she felt the man did seem to know a lot as he dragged on about some ancient race of people out there but she was too eager and had managed to run out on him before she could hear the rest of his story…something that she regretted as it seemed she was now lost in the desert.

Mina bolted higher in the air hoping to be able to see where exactly she was. Sure she was a doll and heat and hunger didn’t affect her at all but she was worried that all the flying she had done for the last few days would drain her of all her magic. After a few hundred feet she came to a stop and turned in all directions. Nothing to the north, nothing to the east, and nothing to the west. She then looked south and squinted her eyes to get a better view. Something in the distance was shining brightly off the sun’s rays. Maybe it was an encampment or a stopping station either way she need to go there. She lowered herself closer to the ground and glided along the smooth surface in the mysterious place’s direction.

It was then that she noticed tracks…no…footprints making their way through the soft sand below her and over the next dune. They seemed to had been going for a while but as she flew to the top of the dune in front of her she saw a person at the bottom slowly crawling in the same direction as her. He seemed to be struggling in his black clothing and moving slower with each crawl. She bolted down the dune leaving behind a small trail of sand clouds behind her. Mina came to a stop just to the side of the man, bent down and stared down at the lengthy fellow. She slowly held out her hand to the man in a gentle gesture. “Here…let me help you. It looks like there’s a place up ahead. You can rest there and be on your merry way once you’re better.” She waited there patiently to see if the man would accept her deal.

A hundred or so years ago Mao would’ve never imagined living in a desert, not fond of the heat and overly bright sun beating down on her. It’d been a part of the pains of her old, implanted magic and rendering her all but completely miserable in any place too warm for her liking. Now with those struggles behind her, and a little affinity – or more likely some ignorant bliss thanks to her deceased sister – for heat Mao could at least deal with the temperatures of the place. It’d probably be a while before she came to find some love for sand, keen on finding ways to keep the little grains from constantly assaulting her and finding their ways into places they really shouldn’t be: such as her tail.

So far cooping herself up inside did the trick well enough, the woman happily reading in the library upon a personally setup pile of pillows. Sure she’d been in the little throne room earlier, but it’d been hard to get comfortable there and felt a little silly really, like being some slave girl sitting on the steps of her Pharaoh. All she might’ve needed would be some skimpy ornamental outfit with a collar and the scene would’ve been perfect…as long as it didn’t end with some beast buried in the sand that ate people.

’I suppose I shouldn’t stay here too long though, it would probably be good to be somewhere more open to welcome newcomers,’ she thought with a small sigh, mostly at the notion of getting up when one had achieved true comfort levels. It might still be a while longer given how knew the place was, but by now word had likely gotten around so who knew when people might trickle through their doors? Finally forcing herself up, Mao left the book on a table to return to it later, donning the large scarf she’d been using as a blanket around her shoulders. ’Would it be wise to traverse some of the deserts for people? Make sure some haven’t become lost?’ Even if the heat was less of a bother she didn’t care for the too bright sun, but she fervently hoped people hadn’t been silly enough to cross it without some proper transportation. The location could be…a bit tricky at times and they’d had to treat a citizen or few for heatstroke and believing the place to be a mirage.

    - Aemon

    " "
Aemon had been wandering the desert for quite sometime, about two or three days, the specific amount was not known to him but as it stood there was no point in keeping track of the days that had past all that mattered to Aemon as it would any other person choosing to brave the harsh heat that the desert would provide, was how many more days it would take to find his destination. That would sound pretty silly to most, having to find a destination which would imply that he didn’t know where it was which wasn’t the case specifically, he had a general idea based on where the message originated from, the message which called for those seeking entrance to the newly formed guild known as Pharaoh's Call but how to get there was the complicated part. The sands constant shifting, the metal in the sand making it impossible to use a compass and the scorching heat made it all a great big chore but then again his entire life for the past few months was nothing but a complicated mess between losing his guild and home to becoming a wandering mage for hire it was less than glamorous. The only saving grace Aemon had experienced was that after one day and one night of traversing the desert he discovered exactly how much cooler the temperature was at night in comparison to travelling during the day and thus he would set up camp during the day with the tent he acquired before he left Rose Garden for this guild lost among the sand and move during the night with no hindrance caused by the sun that would have been hovering above him and no shade to speak of and even though his skin had the qualities of dragon scales even that wouldn’t be able to survive the constant beating the sun would offer and to survive the desert taking the sun out of the equation was the best move he could conjure.

On the third night of his journey all his preservation and hard work would actually pay off when he came across a large structure in the nearing distance but it was too far for him to make out what it was he was seeing at the moment but considering that he hadn’t spent nearly enough time in the desert to have reached its end and considering that he hadn’t come across any sort of man made landmarks it narrowed down what it was he could possibly be seeing. "That structure in the distance I know not what it could be, for all I know it could be a mirage or just another natural wonder but this sensation I’m feeling.. It’s as if I am being drawn to it. I can’t ignore that. " he said to himself as he justified his decision to continue onward and get a better look. "Worst case scenario it could be nothing at all and I go on my way.". He skipped his rest time and pressed forward taking about two hours to close the distance enough get a better look. Opening his left hand he materialized his bow from his weapon factory and as soon as it was secured in his hand he pulled back on the string and placed the string right near his lip. Once he was comfortable he looked down towards the structure as if he was aiming to shoot at it which activated his bows ability hawk’s eye, his right eye grew a complex cross hair pattern and his vision was magnified, he was still too far way to make out what he saw in detail but what it looked like was a floating orb in the air surrounded by pillar like structures. "Don’t see that everyday, looks like might have found it." he said to himself as he relaxed his draw arm and held the bow at his side and pressed on. He was this close and the desert was far from a safe place, the smart thing to do was keep it out just in case and it would turn out to be a good call, popping out of the ground a lizard, yellow in color with purple spots on it’s back shot out from the ground and ran on it’s hind legs towards Aemon and it’s fangs bared. Aemon kicked it away hoping to deter the lizards pursuit but all it did was anger the lizard who came back with a more powerful rage and lunged at the bowman. "My those are some nasty fangs you have." he pulled up his bow in front of him and pulled back on his bow string and released it as rapidly as he drew it and shot an arrow comprised of his magic through the open mouth of the lizard and out it’s back making it flop to the ground motionless. "I’d better stay on my toes then." he said to himself. Luckily for him he managed to reach the mysterious structure’s border but stopped upon seeing a cloud of sand being kicked up as a young girl descended the dune towards a man dressed in black who was eating sand. Aemon let out a sigh, all he had to do was call upon his wings and fly the structure across the way but he couldn’t possibly allow himself to do so while someone needed assistance. "I should go and help." he said as he slid down the dune opposite of the one the girl was sliding down and stopped as he reached both their sides. "Can I be of help here in any way?" he asked for either of them to answer.

She was getting bored. The two around her, one each of the genders, were silently watching over the room and making sure no one tried to attack the last of their royalty; leaving Aiyana with nothing to do but either talk to them or wait for someone to show up there.

Izayoi was not far away from where she was at, the two women had done a spontaneous date that had led them into an interesting job by a small mistake on the job board back in Sabertooth. "Izayoi," The words would be spoken loud enough to be heard as the celestial trickster stood to her feet and began to walk past where she had gone too. "I'm going out to make sure no one gets lost or hurt on their way to this place, if you want to tag along you can."

The guild master kept moving however, and after gathering some water for any they might come across, happened to find Mao walking towards the exit of the large place as well. "Hey Mao!" The excited words would erupt forth before a sudden embrace would be made, the tight hug a quick one before the nine tailed fox began speaking again. "Seems we both have the same idea. What say you to teleporting us out to try and help anyone lost out there?"
