The very forest seemed to shudder in fear as a figure walked through it towards the entrance of the Savage Skull guild. As he approached the doorway he smiled slightly and swept a hand through his slick black hair flattening it down. As the light from the torches above the ancient doorway settled upon him his icy blue eyes sparkled with ancient knowledge. He extended a hand towards the door way and then pulled it backwards. As he did so the doors slowly opened, the ancient timbers creaking and the joints squeaking ominously. He walked forward his black trench coat sweeping billowing in the wind. As he entered the hall he snapped his fingers and the door slammed shut behind him. It was almost as if the door itself was under his command.

The ancient stone hallways was only dimly lit by torches and yet his piercing blue eyes were entirely visible. He observed the vines that broke free of some of the stones and his smiled changed to a smirk. A truly ancient castle and one which reeked of magic and more importantly, to him at least, knowledge. He wondered if he would be greeted or not by any inhabitants of this building. He adjusted his tie with his free hand and placed his leather-like briefcase on the ground beside him and then stood there silently for a few moments waiting to see if he would be greeted here or if he would have to go search for someone. He hoped the former as it would make his integration easier. Although the latter might allow him to explore unhindered for a short while.

"Perhaps not being greeted would be better after all." he said lifting his suitcase and walking forwards towards the nearest hallway. "Though I had expected better from a place that once houses the Undead Queen and the Disaster Zone."

They say there was a mage who used to be part of Savage Skull, feared and infamous for their tyranny and if I remember what Lady Aedre told me, he goes under the name "Naraku". From her side of the story, he sounded like an even greater tyrant among tyrants or rather merciless at that, I never had the luxury of meeting him but perhaps its a good thing.

I had experienced my fair share of infamous tyrants in Mirai already and there were a lot of them there, some presented themselves in the most hideous appearances and strange behavior. Its been months and now I have the image of an upstart, a simple guardsman who possesses the magic of a mage, now the captain of the guard. Ever since Sinali and Rekka left, casualties and murders in the castle had decreased dramatically, apart from the fact that we keep sending people to explore the catacombs.

I did my time in that place and all I could ever find was one of Sinali's abominations. I fought the said creature in a ceremonial hall, probably used by the cultists to worship the Lichborne. There was another set of stairs leading down to the deeper levels but I dare not explore no further than that. I'll leave it up tot he fools who will, although it be a good place to isolate from these mediocre they call dark mages.

If you were to ask me, almost half the guild aren't even fit for the role, I'd give a list of names but I fear of such foolish consequences.

One of the guardsman raised his flag, signaling that someone has entered the ancient dominion under our control. Of course as Captain of the Guard it is my duty to greet our guests and attend to what matters they need to settle with the guild.

Lady Aedre Crawford however did not find me as such fit for a job, rather she even pointed out that I have far more potential than any of the Savage Skull guards that roam through these halls to ensure security within the walls. She expected more from me when we had our first conversation and began to wonder why her uncle Harrigan took me in. Well of course I have nothing to hide but my preferences of service for the crawfords is but a simple servant, may I be a butler or the escort, whichever duty fits.

Some of the walls need refurbishing, refinement and repair. Should we be under siege, the support columns will eventually collapse and everyone in it will be crushed by the rubble. That is why I work hard for the money in order to finance the reform of its structure. I headed down to see to our visitor, apparently he's wearing the same attire as I am.

"I am Dubhlainn, Captain of the Guards that leads the defense of the Citadel walls, what business do you have with Savage Skull?"

He not shown much fear but whether he'd be an azeron soldier or not is of no concern to me. Should he be a spy, I shall not hesitate to smite him at once, right where he stands. The months I spend with the guild, we had a number of traitors and all were dealt with and were met with such gruesome of ends.

Will this be another one of those?

It seemed that he would be greeted by someone just as he was about to leave to explore on his own. He turned to face one of the other entrances, from which the voice had emanated. It was man dressed in a rather smart suit and very well kept together for one who apparently inhabited this castle. The head of the guard no less. Though it was a rather strange attire for a guardsman to wear. Perhaps the guild imposed some form of dress code? Though that would be rather odd for a guild to do. "Before I answer your questions I would like to make a suggestion that might help in the defense of this building. Not all who enter here would know this is the Citadel that houses the guild known as Savage Skull." he said and moved a stray hair out of his vision. "It would perhaps be wiser to keep that secret incase the one you are asking is not a friend of the guild and is powerful enough to destroy it. A B rank, or even a C rank earth mage could bring this down quite quickly. A plant mage possibly even faster. Thus, in my humble opinion, it would be wiser not to reveal who you are immediately until you know more of the situation don't you agree?" He added taking a step towards this so called captain of the guard.

It was almost laughable really. In that one sentence he had revealed that this building was the citadel that housed Savage Skull, that there were guards who had likely seen him enter and that he lead them. Those were all useful bits of information. He'd even revealed his name. Now, if he was so inclined and had his full power at his disposal than he could take control of this man and use him to either get close to certain individuals or order the guards to do something. Though that would rely on the guards being loyal to this man which wasn't clear.

"You ask what business I have? An interesting question with many possible answer. Well, it can be probably divided into five or six options. 1. I am here to attack the guild or its inhabitants, perhaps assasinate the guildmaster, 2. I am here as an ambassador or some kind of messenger or delivery person, 3. I am here to surrender to the guild out of fear, 4. I am here to join the guild or 5. I am simply lost. No...yes...definitely six as I could also be here as a scout or distraction. Though I suppose option 1, 2 and 6 could be split into two each." he said quite calmly and with an air of intelligence to his tone. He liked speaking in rather long winded statements nowadays. Not because he wanted to spend so much time talking, but more because the longer he spoke the more he had a chance to observe and think. It also allowed him to steer the conversation in ways to generate potential reactions and learn about people. Furthermore, it separated him from his tribal days and kept people focused on him. He didn't really have any need to separate himself from those days of his past personally, but he had found that people reacted so badly when they found you were obviously part of some ancient tribe of savage warriors. "There are likely more, but those are the most obvious. Option one can likely be eliminated as if I was here to destroy or assasinate it would be foolish to walk straightforward into the guild, especially solo, unless I'm certain I can deceive the inhabitants long enough to achieve my goal and escape. I also gave options for tightening up defenses slightly so it does seem unlikely unless that is part of my plan to put you off your guard. Darkness of course would normally give an edge, but against a guild housed in the spooky forest? I doubt it. Option two is possible as I am carrying a suitcase, the contents of which could be anything, a message, documents, a rare item.I'm also dressed quite formally which may suit that of an ambassador. Option three is not likely as I would likely have already done so." He took a breath at this point and used the moment to more carefully observe his conversation partner. The man had an air of confidence about him. He was quite confident in his abilities, but he also seemed out of place somehow. It was hard to place. It was almost like seeing a pear on an apple tree. Yet he could not place his finger quite on what it was. That was irritating though he did not let it show on his face. This man had certainly peaked his curiousity. He had been wise to come here if only to learn more of this Captain of the guards." Option four is quite possible. I came in quite confidently and began looking around, perhaps for someone to talk to about joining. Option 5 could also be possible, but seems unlikely. I appear quite calm, collected and not at all overjoyed to see someone who might be of some help. Six is highly possible as i've been speaking for quite a while, long enough for some action to occur by an ally of some kind. Perhaps the magic council are using me as a target for some new weapon." He smiled and set the suitcase down and adjusted his tie slightly. It would be rather interesting to see how he reacted to such a long winded statement. After all, few people spent time talking and were generally much more straight forward than Veil.

"Now Captain Dubhlainn.." he said executing the pronounciation of the rather complex name perfectly after hearing it just once. A feat in itself as it was not a common name and if you saw it written down it would not be clear how to pronounce it. To do so after hearing it just once could be considered impressive to some. He did not find it so, but others did. "...I realise I have spoken for a while and not given you a straight answer, but truth is a fog and thus my actions can be interpreted in many different ways. It is always...refreshing shall we say...to see someone come to their own version of the truth and so I ask you this. What do you think my buisness is? Oh and let me give you a hint." With that his magic power seemed to surge slightly and his eyes grew brighter as the image of a large winged humanoid figure with no visible flesh appeared behind him. It had powerful muscles and strong bones that shone quite brightly. A shadow passed across his face that to most would be quite menacing. Yet the image and the shadow only lasted for a few seconds. "So which option is it? Take your time to think I am in no rush. I would prefer a well thought out answer then one 'off the shelf' so to speak"

This man just wouldn’t stop talking, how it that he cannot answer a simple question is must imply that my hunch is correct. I’d careless on who he is as I am more interested in his intent rather than his name but now I’m inclined to ask his identity.

This man is beginning to annoy me.

They say my stone face makes it hard for anyone to tell what I’m feeling, my expression has always been blank but of course not on purpose, this is how I normally look, especially when it comes to dealing with such business as the man in front of me. If I were given the word I would have smashed him right now but my code of chivalry prevents any outbreak in this hall. I know this man is being sarcastic but I will not tolerate such behavior any further if he keeps pulling that off.

His words were meaningless to me and no matter how sound his statements are, Mikomi’s band of assassins would automatically be sent outside in order to scout for anyone who could have followed our visitors, as such the security protocol of this place. Perhaps I was being too nice, unfortunately we really lack manpower in order to do anything, because of the cannibals that had kept on eating and murdering their fellow comrades.

To me this is mediocrity, mediocrity in this guild of mine.

And now this man is provoking me to drawing blade and cutting of his head and skinning that disgusting creature. I am no letting this man off to anyone not just yet.

“I’m afraid you’re not taking my answer seriously, I have asked you a question and you failed to provide an answer and instead you offer me to guess?” Come to think of it, now I find it hard to believe that he has such etiquette at all. Disgusting… I’d be damned to strike him down if he is praised as a gentleman.

He’s acting like a fox, perhaps he really is a spy who is seems confident that he’d last a week here, I should inform the Pillar Head of hidden blades immediately.

    “What is your name?”

It seems the man was the type who did not like to play games. The type to get straight to the point. He didn't even hazard a guess at his intent. He didn't even demand an answer to the question he had asked and instead accused him of not taking it seriously. He seemed particularly annoyed at the guessing game he had offered or at least that was what he had interpreted it as. That was not what he had been intending at all. "I have to disagree with your point Captain. I took your answer very seriously. After all, even if I answered in a straight forward manner how could you be sure it was the truth? Are you so confident in your ability to detect a lie? And I gave you six answers if you think about it" he replied with a slight shake of his head holding a hand up to his face. "Also, you accuse me of asking you to guess? That was not what I asked. I asked you to think. Can you not think of a way to discern which of those options is the truth? For example, you could of sent out scouts to see if there were any men hiding nearby. You could of taken the suitcase and examined its contents. You could of asked some more...specific questions. Many moves were possible for you to make and yet you took the most common one." It was so expected. So cliche it was almost laughable. However, it had allowed him some understanding of Dubhlainn and perhaps an insight into the guild itself.

"Your next question is perhaps easier to answer and there are no real options except this. Will I tell you my real name or an alias? I think as you are a straight forward man Captain I will give a straight forward answer." he said and then held a hand to his chest and bowed ever so slightly. "I am Veil Crane. As for my business...let us say that my business will be determined by the results of this visit to your guild. I am looking to shall we say improve my knowledge of certain areas. From what I have heard, rumours, reports and such, this guild would be appropriate for that, but as I said the the truth is often a fog. I hope to demystify the situation if you'll excuse the pun." It was unlikely that this would work as a valid answer for the captain, but it was as far as Veil was willing to go at this point. After all, why should he be the one providing all the thought and answers? That was not part of the game. It was also as truthful as he could be. He had not lied in his statement. The results of this visit or perhaps this say would determine what his purpose was or at least in a way that would mean anything to Dubhlainn. In truth his true purpose was knowledge as usual.

"Now is there anything else you wish to know?" Whilst he awaited an answer he considered the information he had given. He hadn't given too much away and none of it was of great value except perhaps his name. Someone with a bit of brain power behind them and some knowledge in certain areas could use the surname to link him back to his tribe potentially, but his attitude and dress sense would likely throw them off. Another potential game to play. Besides, it was only polite and fair to give his name when the captain had given his own. He'd also given another bit of information. A surname. That was something this Captain had not given. Then again, Veil Crane was not the most important name about him. It was only his human name after all.

thorn giggled she could not help it, from her position in the plants aboth the entrance hall the man talking the the captain seemed to be confusing her guild mate and this entertained her proply more than it should do. But the thing that made her more curiuse is the fact that when this man first entered the hall he mentioned Sinali and Naraku. Her old team mate one that could be classed as a friend and the other her mother not that anyone knew that part about her.

Thorn toke a rote in hand and had it lower her down "I can tell you one thing this man is alown my friends have told my that much so a distraction is unlikely" Thorn stated walking though the hall towards the new comer "Welcome Veil Crane to Savage skull but i must warn you if you are here to harm the guild in any way me and my friends will not hesitate to kill you thorn stated lightly her tone seemed carm and slightly bord "now you are a man with intelligence so my question is what is the right question to ask to get a one point answer? she asked softly

Friends? Since when did the faction would use such term? Perhaps even in the darkest of places the word "friend" still exists in their hearts. In fact it only proves my assumptions that no matter how cruel their course of action, a dark mage can never deny the light inside their hearts but one must not reveal this quickly.

I assumed that this visitor maybe some kind of philosopher who dwells on a strange belief in which case they are supposedly experienced and easy to read people just by hearing what they have to say. Such is why I speak only what is necessary, another way to tell one's personality is one's expression but people tell me my expression is hard to read, they call me a stone faced man.

Thorn no matter how cruel you think you are, you still have heart and its funny that her name fits her so perfectly with her nature and probably her way of life, literally and metaphorically.

As Thorn approaches, I move to the side in order for her to get a good look at the man who wore the same formal attire as I am. He seeks knowledge, sounds like somebody who would easily start a debate with "HiM". It be entertaining to see them both argue but fortunately coating a morbid image isn't HIS style. I was taken back by Thorn's little riddle, shame that my comprehensive skills when it comes to such questions be but low as I knew nothing but to fight.

Which is why I asked Joan to give me books, I make visits to Basilik Fang a bit more to catch up on the not so everyday knowledge they give you in Military School. The guards closed the doors, from out the windows, mikomi's men returns from their patrol as they dash and jumped in such speed.

He's telling the truth after all but I still do not like this man. He failed to make such impression towards me but the question is, what does he have to compensate for it? Its strange, it almost sounds like he's reciting script lines from a soap opera.

I swear to God... they both are similar.

Post by Bass 4th January 2016, 6:42 am

Another being entered the fray from above after giggling. Her method of entering the room was interesting. She used the root of one of the plants nearby to lower herself down. It seemed plant mages already roamed the guild or at least one did. Were the vines and other plants that weakened the walls her work? Perhaps an experiment gone wrong or perhaps she had been brought on to resolve the issue. Either way an interesting magic. With her around it was less likely a plant mage would be able to harm the guild's buildings. In fact, perhaps the plants were a way of holding the guild together after an attack. It was theoretically possible. An odd method and that would denote a recent attack that been fought off or a lazy guild who had not bothered to make proper repairs. Still, she wouldn't be around 24/7 and the plants still provided a weakness. If a plant mage struck whilst she was out then the guild would be hard pressed to defend itself unless there were others.

Her mention of friends was also interesting. It showed she had the initiative to either send out people to gather information when she saw him approaching or at least responded properly when he mentioned he might be just a distraction. Intelligence of a kind at least. Though the question was who were these friends? Members of the guild? Or perhaps, and this is what he suspected, plants like those she had used to lower her down. A plant mage, based on his research, could converse with plants as easily, if not more so, than with other people. That was very useful in a forest. Even if she wasn't powerful it was clear to Veil that this person was likely very useful to the guild. Not that he knew if she was powerful or not, but still she was useful either way.

What's more her rather curvaceous form seemed to stir a longing in his body that he could only attribute to lust. It was strange to feel this towards a creature and not knowledge, but what was perhaps more interesting was his bodies reaction to it. He had suffered these feelings before, but that was in his youth. He had thought he gained control over it, but it seemed the human body truly had a mind of its own. He could even feel it penetrating his thoughts. It was almost as if the body shaped the soul in some way and even as a demon inhabiting it, his soul was becoming more human. Something further to research.

"It is a pleasure to meet one of intelligence Belladonna." he said using an older term for 'Deadly Nightshade' which suited her magic, but also meant beautiful lady. A double meaning in fact. He wondered if she would be smart enough to work it out. She likely knew the first meaning, but the second was less well known unless you travelled in certain areas. He'd also laid a slight trap in his response mentioning 'one of intelligence' which could be interpreted as him believing Dubhlainn to not possess intelligence. His reaction would be interesting to observer. Yet it was this woman's question however was one that made him truly smile. It was one had not expected nor ever been asked. A true mark of intelligence or at least of some small amount of wit. He clapped his hands together slowly in applause and spoke. "An excellent question my dear." he then stopped clapping and decided to give an answer. "A question that only has one possible answer is of course an answer. For example, 2+2 will rarely ever equal anything other than four. Though of course that is a simple question with a simple answer. Often the way to a shorter answer is with a longer question or with a question worded correctly. For example, if you asked me the question: Truthfully, Now or in the future do you seek to harm this guild or its members either physically, mentally or via proxy; then there are only two possible answers. That of yes and no. My answer to that question is no." He closed his eyes and focused activating a rare ability he possessed that allowed him to see future actions. He could have this on permanently except in times of great stress like combat, but he saw no real need to and often enjoyed not knowing what was going to happen next. After all, if he knew what was going to happen next then the descent of this woman would not of been a surprise. He could of predicted that his answer would annoy the Captain, though he could of probably done that without this power, but then the Captain would not be as interesting. Hard to read people were much more interesting. They were like locked books without a key or combination. It would take a skilled locksmith to open up Dubhlainn's book and Veil looked forward to trying. "Unless the guilds action or other actions cause a change...I do not believe there is a future where I would intentionally harm this guild via any of the methods I listed. Does that satisfy you?"

Finally, he answered his question and it took him long enough. Now I can’t tell whether he was speaking too much because he was nervous or it’s a way to present him in front of the guild, to look respectable. I’d usually leave guests to the members who have responded to the simple sound of doors opening but now it has become apparent. This presence isn’t disappearing, that vibe I’m feeling from him…

.. He’s not human, I can feel it. Only a few may know that I have inherited traits from certain “things” from my past. It was like a sixth sense but that not of human. Anything that isn’t human, may they carry the blood of other races, entities, elementals or demi-gods I would know immediately even from a mile. I was under the impression that disgusting bird on his shoulders was where it was coming from but I guess it was far from it. It’s a feint stench, to one’s perspective of this “sense” I have its like I’m looking at a dim light which is now flickering. Perhaps he may know of Ms. Lawless or a relative of hers because I can’t tell this man is part demon or had sold his soul to gain the powers of one.

If I can’t decipher this mystery then it’s no longer my concern until he intentional reveals it. Only time will affirm my assumptions. Like I said I can’t leave this man alone in the hall with Thorn, I’m not only a captain but also the escort for all Savage Skull’s Guild members. I ensure safety and guard them as if they were nobles; I even disciplined the guards to treat them as such.

He’s not human, that is all I needed to know, his answer sounded ominous.

Listening to Thorn’s answer I soon began to realize my own mediocrity. It was a simple question with a simple answer, an obvious one as I was not able to comprehend it too well or rather I was not sure of the answer myself, I had the impression Thorn asked a trick question.

“Indeed.” I turned over to face Thorn.

“May I suggest the both of you sit down while I summon the guildmaster.”
I turned over once again to the man known as Veil Crane.
“Prepare your resume…” Of course he knew what I meant by that, after all he is a man of intelligence who can read between the lines, perhaps way better than I am.

And alas an excuse to take a break from confronting an irritating newcomer, as I left the hall and the visitor to thorn, I motioned a guard to report to me anything that veil might do in the next few minutes of my absence. As I disappeared from sight, I a thought came to my head, rather a reminder why we choose to join Dark Guilds, why we remain in shadow and mystery.

What all of us have in common, we have been rejected, we are indifferent and because of that we are malevolent.

“Lady Janneline, my pardons to interrupt but I believe we have another mage who wishes to join our ranks.”
This is probably the first time a member has joined ever since she took the seat. If Lady Janneline chooses to come to meet this man, I shall follow and should she not then I would return and tell Veil that he has to be patient.

thorn Smirked softly tilting her head the answer this man had given her intrigued her his intelligence was quite obviase. smirking softly Thorn walked around Veil looking him up and down his appearance was not bad in fact it was quite attractive but the way he dressed was very formal this almost made thorn laugh. Nodding slightly her ruby lips curved softly.

Shaking her head softly with the way he greeted her was odd form what she knew Bella meant beautiful but in a language she did not know much in but she was not shore about the rest of the saying, what she did now for shore was it was a different word for Deadly Nightshade smirking she wondered if the name fitted her.

Looking at Dubhlainn she was about to respond to his statement telling him the guild master has gone for a few months leaving her in-charge but he had gone before she had a chance "He will be back soon when he realises she is not here, please come sit down do you wish for a drink? she asked softly she said walking to some chairs within the bar aria "I must ask why have you chosen us you don't seem the sort that would enjoy how should i put this getting blood on there hands or suit" she stated looking him up and down as she gathered tea for herself before sitting down she got a spear cup in case Veil wished to join her.

Post by Bass 5th January 2016, 1:27 am

It seemed that this woman had some interest in him as she walked around observing his appearance. Though it seemed she had got the double meaning of his words to describe her. Had she got either meaning? That he couldn't be sure of, but it would be a poor plant mage who didn't know the ancient names of plants that some considered the 'true' names.

Veil shook his head in disbelief at the statement Thorn made. The head of the guard was not aware that the guildmaster wasn't even present here within the guild? That seemed a rather large oversight for the man. It was an odd blemish on his character as for the most part Veil had been quite sure that the Captain was ideally suited for the job of guard. However, not knowing someone was absent from the guild, particularly someone of importance, was very poor.

He walked over to the bar area and extended his hand towards a chair. Without touching it or even moving his hand at all the chair slid out so that he could sit down and then seemingly pushed itself back in. Without even moving his hand or turning his head a glass and a bottle of red liquid moved over to him. The bottle seemingly opened itself and poured the appropriate amount before resealing itself and moving back to its original location. He took a deep waft of the liquid and smiled. "AB negative, stored at the correct temperature and aged for around three years. A rather delicious vintage." he said and raised the glass of rather thick red liquid to his lips and took a sip. "And it appears the owner was quite a strong drinker as well." In a way he felt this answered her questions about blood and drink considering he was drinking a glass of blood. It also showed that he didn't particularly see her or the guild as authoritative over himself yet. After all, she had brought a cup for tea, most likely herbal, and yet he had taken a bottle of blood and a glass without even asking. Though if thought about carefully she had merely asked him if he wanted a drink. She did not specify a cup of tea.

"The truth Bella Donna is a fog and appearances are often so deceptive. In fact, it is often the greatest form of deception one can perform. However, you are right to question why I would choose to come here to the most 'savage' of guilds if you'll pardon the pun." he said twirling the cup in his hand and watching the liquid catch the light of the room before taking another sip then licking his lips. It was a rather delectable beverage and the alcohol content was just right for his tastes. Enough to give a kick, but not enough to cause him to get drunk any time soon. Rather appropriate for the situation as well because getting drunk in a dark guild would only lead to problems. "Let us just say that after careful thought it seemed that the me that joined this guild would come closer to his goals than the one who joined the other dark guilds. A legal guild would not be appropriate for my methods though it might be fun to see how long i'd last and as for the independants well....i've never seen myself as much of a bounty hunter."

Once more, like before, the shadow came over his face and the image of a humanoid winged figure with no flesh appeared behind him before fading. This was him giving her a small hint that truly appearances were so deceptive. Of course, it didn't reveal exactly what he was. It just gave a hint. Something to think upon.

As always the darkest of guilds did honor to its name, as the barely lit hallways were overwhelmed with an almost impenetrable darkness. With the only light illuminating them, coming from the few torches. Yet that light was an ill trade for what it also created, namely the faint shadows that dancing around as if they were evil themselves.

Off course the shadows were only a metaphor and could never compete to the real evil that just entered these ghastly halls. A stranger that the guild has never seen before, yet the shadows accepted him oh so easily. As they slowly whispered to each other, from ear to ear, until it even reached the strangest of characters in the guild. Namely Viktor R. Albeit, the household butler and surprisingly enough carried a kind face.

Off course the name was all he needed, as Viktor was already aware of the mans presence in the guild. How he didn't knew, maybe it was the guild, maybe it was the years of experience. Or maybe just maybe, it was the intuition of a true servant.

So out of nowhere, he appeared before Thorn, the current overseer of the guild. And devilishly looking man named Veil Crane. With carrying on his left hand a silver coated salver, with on top of it an equally coated lit. That was shaped as a dome and thus hiding whatever it was underneath it.

'Miss thorn, my apologies for the sudden intrusion. But I've brought some tidbits to quell your and Mister Crane's appetite'

Really hungry or not, Viktor would place the silver platter down regardless, and immediately lifted up the dome shaped lit as well. Thus revealing the small delicacies that had been conjured up in the kitchen. It wasn't entirely complex, just small appetizers that could please anyone. Either way it was adequate for most situations, even if one wouldn't indulge oneself.

'Anything else I can be of service of?'

Regardless of the answer, Viktor would take a small bow. And fetch whatever it was what was asked of him. And if not to disappear once again and tend to any other business a man of his stature should be doing.

Thorn nodded as veil spoke her middle finger twirled around the top of the cup elegantly. Bringing her leg and over the other one thorn adjusted her dress slightly keeping dignity for herself and to not corse to much embarrassment for the gentleman infrount of her, biting her lip softly thorn's eyes darkened slightly she wondered if this man had any human weaknesses from how he spoke she doubted he was the original owner of the body.

looking up thorn smiled kindly at the person that had brought some food "there is no need to adress me so formally just call me thorn please Viktor." she said lightly before gesturing to a chair "yes there is one thing i request you to sit down"' she stated a smirk on her lips she had not interacted with Viktor befor so now was the perfect time to now everyone in the guild.

looking back at Veil "You keep Calling me Bella from what i know it means Deadly Nightshade and beautiful lady i am flattered by both but there is no need to call me such things, right lets get down to business, as i said the guild mistress is out at present and has left me in her stead so i will accept you into out guild but one wrong move, one act of betrayal you will be in the ground used as fertilizer for my freinds!" she stated lightly her face series but her body still seemed relaxed and laided back.

Another man in a suit had approached. This one carrying a lid covered salver which apparently contained small delicate food that the man referred to as tidbits. The man was apparently named Viktor and based on his method of talking he appeared to be an actual member of serving staff. To his interest the man was invited to join them at the table. So, it seemed that this Thorn, as he now knew her to be called, was not one to stand on ceremony, but had a dignity in herself.

"Bella Donna, deadly nightshade or beautiful lady, an accurate translation. Accurate to describe yourself as well I believe. Now, as for why I was calling you it. That is simple. I had not been provided with anything else to call you." This was true. She had not introduced herself and until Viktor had spoken the name 'Miss Thorn' he truly had no idea what to call her. This was also first time she had mentioned that she was in charge. So he was right in thinking that she was important to the guild. Now was that due to her powers or did she have some leadership skills?

It seemed she wanted to play both the good cop and bad cop role as she was quite pleasant and then suddenly was threatening him. Her face showed seriousness but her body showed relaxation. Her words had also revealed that her friends were plants of some kind as they were the only things to really use fertilizer. A rather well structured threat though he wondered if she would be able to win against him. Her edge was the turf. She knew it better than him and had plants at her disposal. However, he had the edge that the future was something he could see, something he could predict. Until she knew he was capable of that he would have the edge.

"You misunderstand me Lady Thorn. Whilst I believe joining this guild would benefit me greatly I did not come today with the decision to join already made." he said before taking another sip of the blood wine and popping one of the appetizers into his mouth. Fortunately, none of them contained lettuce and there was no combination of bread and fish. Seeing them would reveal a key weakness of his character. Something he did not want to do yet. "My desire to join has increased, but it is not quite certain yet. If possible I would like a tour of the guild...I need to be sure that this is the place which will help me acheive my goals. I would also like to talk some more and learn more about yourself and the guild.  However, I mean as I said. I cannot see any path in which I would seek to the harm the guild at this moment"

thorn smirked softly nodding softly "i understand where you are coming from but I request that you have the savage skull emblem on you after all we have certain creatures that would kill anyone that is not apart of the guild so if you wish to see the guild it would be best for you!" she stated lightly standing she move swiftly standing next to veil she place a hand on his shoulder closing her eyes she started to wonder what this man was about his power was definitely higher than her own even she could not defeat him not in a straight fight at least. Looking down at Vail she smirked "and on the name front you never requested a name from me and you already stated that my guild mate should not have been so open with being in savage skull why are names different? after all names have some power even just a little." she stated she wanted to seem just as intelligent as she had in the beginning but it was not as easy as that.

So, it appeared they had a defensive scheme consisting of creatures that would attack and attempt to kill or to use a more appropriate term savage those who were not part of the guild. Now that was certainly an interesting tidbit. Something that seemed oddly appropriate for the guild. However, the fact he would need the emblem in order to explore the guild was a slight irritation. He closed his eyes for a moment focusing on the possible futures that could extend from here. The paths of exploring the guild without the emblem all ended quite abruptly so it seemed even his power was not enough to survive that. An unfortunate circumstance and it seemed his hand was forced. He would be required to get the emblem or he would be required to leave. He could not see a future currently that fitted him better than this guild. That did not mean it did not exist, but that none of the paths he was considering taking or could think of lead him on his path. He had no choice it seemed. "It seems I have no choice. An irritating state to be in, but one I can withstand. If possible I would like the guild mark here." he said removing one of his gloves and pointing to the back of his hand. "In black preferably."

He was quite surprised and ever so slightly aroused, much to his displeasure, when Thorn suddenly stood up and placed her hand upon his shoulder. Based on the feeling she was trying to read his power. Something he did not want to reveal, but something he did not have the time to effectively hide. He did smile though at the response in regards to names. It was an intelligent answer. One that did show that her first answer was not a fluke. She possessed at least a modicum of intelligence.

"That is true of course, but in this situation your name had far less power. After all, your name would only allow me to associate you with people and I already knew you were associated with the guild." he said calmly without turning to look at her. There was no need after all. "If you had told me the name before I knew the guild resided here then it would of had much more power. After all, Lady Thorn your name is quite well known though perhaps not as much as that of the Undead Queen Sinali, the Disaster Zone Naraku and even they pale in comparison to the embodiment of evil himself...the Lichborne. Still, an impressive name Thorn...perhaps due to your actions, but also due to the mystery of your appearance. Very little is known of your past"

Thorn nodded softly her eyes looked right into veils and she was still for a moment just long enough to get noticed but not long enough to class it as staring. Sighing softly thorn looked away "give me a moment I will get the stamp" she stated lightly walking off quickly her strides where smooth and eligent also quick.

thorn was gone maybe five minuets in that time she had found the stamp with instructions and reapplied her makeup and well as straighten her dress. thorn then turned and headed back. Thorn quickly arrived next to vail placed the stamp down on the table "we will do it just before leaving i can give you one that lasts an hour then once you decide a more permanent one will be used" she explained softly sitting back down in her chair she crossed her legs once more and smiled "i am glade to here there is some sort of reputation even if it not as good as my old team mate or one of the more incredible woman i have heard of. How ever on my past that is a secret that is closely guarded not even the guild master knows of my past not even my plants now everything that way it can not be used against me in a situation like torture" she almost whispered the words she was taken back by this man and how much he knows about her, how much knowledge he had on her and the guild as a whole.

As she gazed into her eyes he let a little bit of his true eyes show. They were almost pitch black and when stared at would be looking like a night sky, with two particularly large stars where his pupils should be. However, before she would even have the chance to really take them into consideration they faded away to be back to normal. He looked over towards her as she walked away those his gaze was not direct and more using his peripherals. She was almost as attractive from behind as from in front. His bodies arousal was rather irksome, but it was something that allowed him to further understand the human species. He wondered what about her so attracted this body. He glanced over at the butler -like individual called Viktor. He had not yet said anything since being asked to sit down. A rather stereotypical butler in that sense.

When Thorn returned she had with her the stamp and mentioned that she could give a temporary one. Well, that certainly made the situation a little more bearable. He smiled at her response. So, she was smart enough to keep some of her cards close to her rather ample chest. It was wise to keep a few things hidden so they could not be used against you. That was why he rarely revealed anything other than his name. Even his name he didn't reveal until it was necessary. "I predict that in the future you will gain fame greater than the undead queen at least. After all, she was never entrusted with the running of a guild as infamous as this as far as my research tells me." he said and moved a stray hair out from in front of his eyes. Hair was something that irritated him about being human more than most things. It always needed tending to. He could of shaved it all off of course, but that would not work as well with his current style. "Your ability to keep something secret from even nature itself is very impressive. Of all the more infamous members of this guild...you are the only one I could find almost nothing on. An impressive feat. Though I do wonder if it was your face, which is so similar to the Disaster Zone's some might call it identical, that brought you to a guild that she once called home."

Viktor who had simply refused the offer of sitting along side the mages by now, just kindly smiled as the gaze of their visitor. And current newest member of the guild fell upon him. The surprising fact to this rather strange occurrence was the fact, that the smile was genuine. Not a conceited smirk, or an evil smile of pure ecstasy when drenching oneself in the blood of the innocent. But a kind smile with nothing hiding behind it.

As the conversation continued, Viktor would listen. Until the situation arose, where he could actually answer something.

'Ah, if I may. I can provide some actual insight on that matter master Veil. It's not the face alone, however striking the similarity, that had brought her to the guild. It's this place on itself, it attracts those, may it be unknowingly, unwilling or through certain connections. It has a grasp on those that have served here and reaches beyond that.' he paused for a moment before he continued, observing Veil from behind his kind smile 'A man of your stature surely has noticed the strange sense of allure this place has. Despite being located in the vilest of environments'

How he would perceive that information was up to him, but Viktor was fairly sure that this man would contemplate on this. As he seemed as smart as he appeared deadly.

Thorn lent forward her smile nowhere to be seen her face had turned very seriase "I beleave that you now far to much about my guild this is not something you should openly admit!" she stated darkly if he did not join there ranks he would not be leaving in one peace the guild dose not let people that now to much about them live for very long.

Thorn without thinking snarled at Veil at the mention of the person she always was told was her mother but that was something she would not be telling anyone ever. "that is something we should not discuss at the moment you not trusted with that." thorn stated said standing she snatched the stamp off the table adjusted the settings slightly before snatching Veils hand and stamped it "lets get this over with!" she hissed walking to a door she waited by the door for veil to join her and maybe victor.

Veil looked at her coldly and without much emotion in his voice he spoke. "What I know is information that can be gained by anyone with enough time and energy, both of which I have an abundance of. I never said I knew the information either. I merely said that was what my research had told me. Rumours, reports, books. All provide information, but the truth is truly a fog. Piercing it can truly be difficult" he said rising to his feet. "Even if only from rumours it would be a fool, something I do not consider myself to be, who came to a place such as this without gathering at least a modicum of information about who or what he might be facing.  Do you not agree?"

He then turned his gaze to Viktor briefly as the man spoke of the draw that some people had towards this place. So her face alone was unlikely what brought her here, but perhaps her inner darkness. Something here called to people and drew them in. The man was certainly right that the place had a certain allure to people of a certain mindset or persuasion. It was certainly something to ponder. Another riddle of the human race to unravel though perhaps it was more a mystery of this plane of existence for not everyone in this guild was human. Yet, it was not the curiousity he felt towards the guild's apparent alure to those with a dark soul or dark mind or both that dominated his mind at the moment. No, it was Viktor himself. An apparently kind being with a kind smile. What had drawn him to this guild? Why did he serve it so happily and with kindness for potentially the darkest beings alive? It was truly quite intriguing. "You have a point Viktor, but I do wonder what could of drawn a man such as yourself here. Perhaps we can discuss it at a later date if I decide to stay" he said with a note of intrigue and almost a lust in his voice. A slight smirk was displayed on his features. Even the serving staff here interested him. So far he felt he had made the right choice of guild.

He frowned at Thorn's reaction the mention of Naraku, the Disaster Zone, and then spoke again.  "You misunderstand me Lady Thorn. I did not ask to discuss it. Nor did I ask you to trust me with information. I merely said that I was wondering about it. My thoughts are still my own I trust? Besides, It would be presumptuous of me to pry into your past when we have just met." he said calmly and then thought to himself Though my dear Thorn your reaction to it has given me more information than you might think and more than I had hoped from just mentioning it Yes, from that information he could discern there was some secret behind the link between her and Naraku. Something she did not want people to know. Did anyone but her know the answer? AH, there were so many mysteries in this guild alone. The human lifespan was far too short to unravel them all. Perhaps when this body eventually succumbed to age or disease he would remain here in his true form or perhaps find a new body to inhabit.

He stared at his hand as she so violently stamped his hand. It seemed he truly had hit a sore spot. Anger could be useful to you, but mostly it was best when used against you. Thorn had revealed a potential weakness here. One he could not yet fully exploit and one he did not have reason to. However, it would be suitable for him to do a bit of side research when out on these so called 'jobs' mages did. Perhaps he could find out more. He wondered what the link was and how much Thorn knew about it. IF she didn't know much then perhaps the research could allow a greater bonding between the pair. Strangely, his body seemed to want that and that seemed to make him want it. Human bodies really did shape their occupants no matter how strong. He would have to take care not to be overcome.

"I apologise if I have angered you. That was not my intention. Sometimes my tongue has a mind of its own though in most situations I believe my tongue usage to be excellent." he said not realising the potential double entendre he had used. His knowledge of that area of human kind was limited. "I realise the tour is likely guided by you, but I would be particularly interested in any knowledge repositories the guild possesses. If I crave one thing it is enhancing my mind."

As he waited for a response he stared at the hand upon which he now had the emblem of the guild. He smiled and slid the glove down covering it entirely. "It is a rather curious thing a guild emblem, particularly for a dark guild. For guilds such as the Blue Pegasus it marks them as that guild and allows people to know where there allegiance lies. Its likely a magic council requisite as well. It allows the people hiring them to know who they are hiring. The same can be said for a dark guild of course with the exception of the magic council bit. However, considering dark guilds are illegal guilds who commit crimes..." he paused wondering how best to proceed. "...it is rather odd that they would decide to have a mark that shows that. After all, its basically the same as walking down the street shouting out 'I'm a dark mage.' Still, I suppose it does give a sense of belonging and in the case of this guild it prevents these...defenses... you spoke of attacking you."

Thorn started to quickly dislike this person he acted so high and mighty she had reached her limit with this person clenching her fist she swung her arm around smacking Veil square in the face her face showed her dislike and even though her hand throbbed Thorn did not let this show "I care not where you acquired the information I am the guild master of this guild at least for now and i will not have you speak with such disrespect, you have gathered more information than what was required!" she stated she could not help but move the other hand over the on that throbbed, making a mental note that she needed to learn to punch better.

Thorn raised her eyebrow at the sexul way he refured to his toung this made her laugh softly shaking her head lightly her mood with this man seemed to yoyo he at one minuet she was attracted to him the next angry enough to punch him than she became attracted again all very confusing shaking her head she started the tour of the guild showing him everything but people rooms and her balcony.

The blow struck his face with force causing the cheek to swell red. A shadow seemed to come over his face and his eyes changed to the star-like form he revealed earlier. For the briefest of moments his skin itself seemed to fade away revealing 'his true form' that had earlier just been displayed as an aura of intimidation. However, as quickly as it come forward it faded. He raised a hand to his cheek and sighed before sweeping a stray hair from in front of his face. "I like strong women, but I would appreciate you not striking me again. It doesn't do my reputation any good if I am struck by a woman, even if that woman is a guildmaster." he said calmly and then with a gesture of his hand other hand his suitcase seemed to zoom towards him. He clenched his fist around it and stared at Thorn. "I believe the amount of information I found was in fact not sufficient. If I had spent more time researching then perhaps I would not have incurred your ire so quickly." Though it did make him wonder if she was suitable leadership material if she could be caused to blow her top so easily. It was not exactly the best trait in a leader. However, she was new to the leadership regime so perhaps she would improve in time.

"I did not mean any disrespect with my words, nor do I truly believe that any should of been taken from them. However, as I said earlier my apologies if my words have offended you." he bowed his head slightly and then smiled every so slightly. In fact, it was more of a smirk than a smile. "Now that we have hopefully finished with the unpleasantries shall we proceed with the tour?"

He was quite pleased with himself using the term unpleasantries. Normally, when you entered a meeting of sorts you had the 'pleasantries', little tidbits of politeness that were expected. However, in this case the actions that had occurred were not pleasant. "Will you be joining us Viktor?"

'Unfortunately I can't, some of the more domesticated Garm require my immediate attention. You see, if they are not fed properly from time to time, they'll rather become... less docile. So if you would be so kind to excuse my presence. I'll be taking my leave now'

With a small gracious bow, he excused himself from Veil Crane and Miss Thorn and quickly stepped away. Back into the shadows of the guild. Attending to the rather lively prisoners that were meant as the midday snack for the rather illustrious Garm.

Thorn smirked lightly her fists clenched once more she wanted to hit this man again so bad but refrained from doing so, she had lost her cool once that was not suitable for someone in her current position, maybe after this tore it would be best to get away from this person but she was not so shore if that would be as easy as she thought. "you may like strong women but I hate pretentious men" she declared in a tone of annoyance.

Thorn turned away from Veil in to the direction she planed on taking him first the catacombs one place that not even many savage skull liked to go, "I agree that this has been an unpleasant encounter but it wont be for much longer, If victor had no other place to go I would have him show you and not have to look at your face any longer but that is not possible so i am stuck here!" her voice had a small tint of disgust but she also admired his bravery these feelings inside of her where so confusing she almost did not look where she was stepping her foot clipped with a loss stone and tumbled forward having to try to rebalance before falling flat out.
