A new kind of Despair [Intro/Open]

Post by Lance Knighthunter on 21st December 2015, 5:10 pm

Rain gently sprinkled from the sky as a small figure approached the guild. The figure wore a black cloak with a hood over her head along with a metallic mask covering her face. The eye sockets of the mask gleamed red always as she took a deep breath and looked around. Jade had been traveling for what seemed like days trying to find this place that her dad had told her about. Before entering she stopped and looked at the guild with a smile "Geez, talk about ancient... I wouldn't be surprised if all that was in here were skeletons and ghosts..." she said with a little giggle as she nodded to herself and walked in.

When inside she gently looked around and her eyes widened "Wow... OK this place isn't a ghost town!" she exclaimed in a cold, metallic sounding voice. Her dad had sent her here in hopes to get stronger and someday take him down. She looked around "Hello?" she said as she took off her hood to reveal long longs of raven black hair which she wore in pony tails to two sides with white and blue bows. When she took off her mask the face of a young teenager popped out. Her little blue eyes scanned the room with curiosity as she gently ventured more inward.

Stein was pacing from one side of the guildhall to the other while he was going over his experiment idea notebook and muttering to himself. "Let's see if I take the blood of that Rita girl I got a sample of a while ago and mix it with hmm... maybe some form of insect." He muttered aloud while in front of the guildhall doors that swung open. Looking he saw a teenage girl entering. "Is there something I can help you with?" Stein asked as he closed his experiment idea notebook and put it inside his lab coat pocket before walking towards the teen.

She stared up at the man in front of her. She gulped for a second before giving a smirk "I was looking for someone... I am pretty sure that person is not an old man such as yourself~" she said in a bratty tone as she started to walk past the man, stopping before turning around and walking back "Wait... That was uncalled for. Dad told me not to be rude to people I just met." she put her head down a little before laughing and looking the man up and down "You a scientist gramps?" she smiled a sweet smile as she twirled her hair "Dad said not to trust scientists." she shook her head though "but you seem interesting enough... Say who are you?" she asked in a demanding tone.

"Gramps? I take that as a compliment if you only knew how old I really am. To me you're nothing but an infant in terms of age difference." He said to her comment on his age. "I'm Aeon Van Frankenstein, but you can just call me Stein and your father sounds like a wise person not to trust scientists. I don't even trust myself at times." He gave her his name, but he was more surprised on how empty the guildhall was today.

"S tein, I thought you and everyone else would know the drill by now.” Her tone bit through the guildhall, Famines shape stepping out from the shadow which hung off the high walls of the aged and unlit fortress. "We can’t have little kids wandering up into the guildhall. If She’s not Affiliated with any guild in the Crimson Night Alliance get rid of her." A chilly sapphire gaze adverted itself down to the girl who stood at a height even shorter than her own. With the lowering of her irises Famine honed in on something she’d rather not of seen, the mask clasped in-between this girls hands.

The brunettes breath hitched in sharply, though quietly. “W…Where did you get that?” her tone twisted cruelly practically demanding the answer, cutting off her previous snap of an inquiry.

Jade stared at the man and smiled "Well it's nice to meet you Gramps- " she was going to say something else but she was cut off by another voice. This voice sounded powerful even to her standards. She let her eyes drift towards the voice and saw a woman who was not much taller than her but still was enough to look down at her. She had just met this woman and already by the sound of her voice she didn't like her at all. She clenched her fist and took a step towards the woman, shadows tracing her every step now "Tch who are you calling a kid bitch?!" she said as she turned away "I am not just a little kid... I'll have you know I was trained by Despair himself. The king of Shadows." she had a harsh tone in her voice as she spoke, not looking back at the woman.

She didn't turn around until the woman asked about the mask in her hands. She turned around with a more calmer and curious look in her eye "My dad." she said with a hopeful look in her eye now "He left me with a note and said to seek out a girl named Famine." she put her head down a bit "but then he left me all alone to go searching for this guild that was out in the middle of no where..." Jade gently held out the mask to the lady "W- Would you happen to know anything about this?! Anything about my Dad or where he might have gone?"

"T -Three things, girl.” Famine bit, narrowing her gaze downward to Jades own wide and blue opticals. Her teeth gritted against one another roughly, causing a endurable pain in her jaw.

“One, Famine isn’t taking fan mail….” She knew the said not could have been something more important… but now she looked to burn bridges with her father too, only because he was one of the few left who knew who she really was.

One thing shocked her more than Despairs mention although, news that he had somehow had a child? It had been about a month since her and Despair crossed paths… it wasn’t possible for him to of actually born a kin…  Unless…. Famine’s thoughts went back to the girl who’d once called Lance her dad, clung to his side like she was glued there. Could this girl have been another product of a failed cloning like Lea Famine finally cleared her throat, opening her mouth to speak.

“ Two, I don’t have anything to do with your fathers where-abouts.”
An honest reply, but maybe not the whole truth Jade needed right now.

This kids dad was one of Famines last ties to her old life, to her days as a determined, stubborn but bold hearted legal mage. Famine had to manage to keep her composure, swallowing down the anxiety fluttering around inside her.

“And three, call me something foul again and I’ll personally slice your head open from the mouth up, bitch.” With her warning a short sword melded together in her hand as she angled it out, black matter, the shadows she wielded, directing together to make the solid black blade. And as the creation ceased the guild master trained the point of the blade not an inch away from her lip.

Jade's eyes widened a bit when the blade got pointed at her lip. She had already realized who the note was addressed too. It was addressed to this lady right here. Why her father would ever want to love a bitch like this? She would never know for sure but the problem now was the blade being pointed at her. She sighed a bit and brought her hand up to tightly grip the ladies arm before slowly bringing it down. She didn't want to fight this lady as she could sense that she had power.

She walked over to a pole and leaned on it. She chuckled a bit before breaking out into a cold laugh "Honestly I didn't expect you to know where my dad was... Unless you knew him at some point." she opened one eyes and rose her eye brow in questioning. She pushed off the wall and walked over to Famine, Walking passed her before stopping "I would like to speak with you if you have the time." She looked back and smiled gently as she walked deeper into the guild.

As If Famine would have been in Magnolia today if she knew such a epic event was to be in place. She’d been in the neighborhood for the sake of a few not-so-legal errands. By the time the tourists, the people, and the partiers had rolled in like some violent, twerking, bottle popping, selfie snapping, tsunami Famine had managed to take cover by some bar that had been set up for the event outside.

An escape was inevitable with THIS many people. Sure she wouldn't go noticed unless someone was here who could recognize her negative magic aura from her legal days, three of which were still around for certain. Otherwise, no one else could look at her and tell you so she was a guildmaster of one of the biggest threats in Fiore. But Since Famine couldnt find a way to slither out of this one WITHOUT possibly killing any people dancing around in her way she did the next best thing-- Blended in

You know what they said If you can’t escape em join em... She’d only intended to sit there with a drink or so at first… but they just kept coming and She didn’t want to draw the unnecessary eyes by rejecting the perfectly good poison....

Rita had always been a light weight and four little cups of whatever the hell she’d drank later and she was already faced down into the bar counter, slouching at the end of the bar like some dead body.

    ---

It wasn’t the excessively loud music or the wotting and cheering around which had awoken her but the crack of thunder in the distance which raddled her awake. She slouched up, her head buzzed inside, face flushed at her nose as she whipped her lip clean of her own slobber from her nap.

Whatever had she been forced into ingesting… some sort of sick drug…. It made everything woozy. She didn’t quite feel like herself or maybe she felt more like herself. Famine was so disorganized but so free in feeling with the humming in her brain she felt like she could do anything… anything but keep hold of her toxic aura, the black glow emitted from her only subtly, the air around her seeming to shift and reverberate as if water.

People around her began to stumble around even more nauseously and drunk then before, many of them collapsing sickly like domino's the moment Famine stepped near.
The Guild master finally  stumbled or more or less tripped down off the stool she’d been perched, catching herself with an unsteady wave of tattooed arms. She bumped into another partier for them the proceed to hurl their guts out at their feet. Famine shoved past another in the crowded street, they vomited as well, and the next and the next.

“Oh—oops….” She merely slurred, blinking around absent mindedly… and drunkly. Famine couldn’t think enough to stop the aura now or know it would draw to her unnecessary attention. But what she could do was protect herself from the streams of vomit ejecting from those collapsing as she passed and shoved by them.

“Shaduuu…make……” She paused, with a blank blink of her azure eyes. “Umbrella?” The mass formed in her hands from her shadow matter, and she opened the umbrella, shoving foreword, unaware where she was or wanted to go in this disoriented condition of hers.

OOC: Anyone who goes near Famine will feel extra sick, anyone who touches her will.... welp throw up. Just read the spell if you're confused lol....
    Famine's Aura:
    Name: Famine’s Aura
      Rank: C-Rank
      Type: Supportive
      Description:
Famine was perhaps the most patient and sadistic of the four horsemen who would represent decay and suffering. While the incantations themselves were terrifying enough, Famine’s constant use of them caused an unexpected side effect; a decaying aura. Anyone who came into contact with or even got close to Famine would find themselves beginning to feel nauseous. This feeling would only become more pronounced and more threatening the longer they spent in the Horseman’s presence, eventually to the point where they lacked the strength to fight on. While the Tome of Famine does not grant this effect as a passive like Famine once had, it can be activated at will by the Tome’s wielder.

Anyone who is within 10 meters of the caster will begin to feel nauseous. For every post that passes the opponent will lose 5% of their maximum HP and will have their strength and durability drained by a further 10%.

Anyone who comes into direct contact with the caster will immediately vomit. They suffer from 10% HP loss every post and their strength and durability is decreased by 25% for 5 posts. Spells the victim tries to cast will cost an additional 5% of magical energy. The first effect does not stack on top of this.

Furthermore, any soil, water or element  within the range of this spell  will become cursed and begin rotting, making it inedible and unusable for slayers and mages alike.
      Strengths:
      * A great method of weakening an enemy both physically and mentally by making them feel so ill that they’d wished they’d not left their beds that morning.
*Rots the surrounding area, making it inedible to Slayers and impossible to manipulate and use by mages.
       Weaknesses:
      * This spell only has a range of 10 meters, thus anyone out of that range will not be affected.
      * Famine would not distinguish between friend or foe on the battlefield with exception of the fellow horsemen.  As such, all allies except those who wield a weapon of a Horseman are as equally afflicted by the spell as an enemy would be.
       Duration: 3 posts.
      Cooldown: 6 posts
