Post by Merlin Ambrosius 15th January 2016, 10:10 am

There was once a magus, who was said to have altered the fate of the destruction of a kingdom, in his capable hands he brought forth a miracle that lasted for thirty years to come. A proud kingdom it was and it founded the greatest of knights with a King that earned the favor of the country, a King that stood as a true paragon of their people. To wield and to lead by the sword, the magus sharpened the mind of this legend that will forever go down in the history of man!

But alas…. If only the Magician wasn’t intercepted, the glorious symbol that protected the kingdom wouldn’t go in disarray. The Lady of the Lake, the most powerful undine in Nazo, Vivien came to this magician one night and enchanted him with a spell, sealing him off in a dimension where all were crystal containing an unnatural space that refabricated his age and his time.

From a man who seeks the root, an entity who understood, a Wiseman that speaks for the King and for the people now a prisoner, of this fine lady of the lake, trapped like a ship inside a bottle, damned to sail in the stormy waters forevermore. Should ever the magician have not loved her; he wouldn’t meet such fate after foreseeing the result but played and came just for the sake of fulfilling Vivien’s wishes. He fell to madness and in turn found a way to escape a frozen paradise, a cursed cave which reflects through infinite spaces and from those spaces did he seize the moment. Having earned freedom from the jailor after a hundred years, he traveled across different worlds and different planets, continuing to learn more, continuing to journey and to seek out the beauty of life’s mysteries that were scatted across the universe.

Which is why on this day in particular, he choose to be here in Earthland, to seek out and discover the mysteries hidden by the ancients from the world. He only came here recently looking for a place, to set the stone of his claim. To him it was a whole new paradise and a great start to his new journey across the nations. He wore robes of white and silk, underneath was leather armor with a unique design that resembled the kingdom he once served and finally a staff that he always carry with him. He wondered why, what had drawn him to this place in particular? Was it because it was an ancient monument to be explored?

Or perhaps a fate that awaits him in this place?

Heero 10 years old. 11 years in the past.

    Memory: Chance HeeroKid_zpsbddbqkvd

Heero wandered through South Fiore, Master Leonard wouldn't know...no one would know. He would complete this Job, and rub it in Ken's face. Stupid Ken. Stupid everything. This was only one year after Zeuslogia, the Lightning Dragon had abandoned Heero. Found in the spooky forest by Sir Leonard Dragonbane, a young wizard. Heero had been brought to Fairy Tail, and taken in. Saved from homelessness. The Dragon had saved him at sea at age 6 only to abandon him after 5 years of bliss, traveling the world on Dragonback. Now, he was looking for any clues to his whereabouts. This Job had something to do with a large monster in the ancient Ruins. Being a 10 year old, Heero naturally thought this was his parent Dragon and went off to investigate. Even though a 10 year old should not be traveling cross country alone.

Heero huffed and puffed as he lowered his panda hoodie, stepping over a horizon that overlooked the ancient ruins.

"WHOAAAAAAAA!" he would sparkle brilliantly, with youth as he grabbed his own face. "MAN THIS PLACE IS A BAJILLION YEARS OLD OR SOMETHING!"

Heero would slide down a steep incline of a hill, rocks and pebbles tumbling as he slid down into the ruins proper with a tap, tap.

Putting his hands in the pocket of his panda hoodie, the future God of Ishval and strongest wizard in the world and across several dimensions would walk around, a complete dumbass. Sparkling at every little thing he didn't understand. Although his Magic Power potential was huge, at this point he was D-Ranked or less. Keeping his hands in the hoodie, he was amazed that the ruins stretched in all directions for miles.

"Just how old is this place...." Heero would round a corner, and see a man in leather armor, with some white silk draped around it in different places. He didn't look like he had a sword on his hip or anything, and Heero was way stronger than a regular kid. So he just stood there.

"..............Mister?!" Heero would wait, with a sweatdrop. Because he was just a child, he trusted adults naturally. "Um, hi! I'm...looking for a big monster! Probably a flying one that can breath fire and lightning uh.........god....that sounded stupid huh, uh....what's your name? Mine's Heero, a wizard of Fairy Tail! One day I'll be the strongest of all time!!!" looking up at him filled with hope, Heero would flex and grab his muscle, sparkling anime style comically. After he introduced himself, Heero look at the man curiously, inspecting his sharp features. "Mister Merlin...." as Heero looked into his eyes, he got the same feeling that he got when he looked into Zeuslogia's T-Rex size Dragon eyes. Experience, age, ancient, wisdom. For some reason, he felt this way when he looked at Mister Merlin, even though he didn't look any older than Leonard, the 1st Master of Fairy Tail.

"I kinda....snuck away from Magnolia and my Guild uh.......not supposed to be here, but I gotta find that Dragon!!!!!! My Dad!!! Although...he taught me that Dragons can fly in outer space...he might not even be on this planet anymore..." Heero looked sad and at the floor briefly.

His house on Akane Beach? Exploded when his sister Alye awoke as a wizard, the house was tossed into the sea as the Storm Mage awoke at the age of 11, his parents didn't make it, his sister probably killed. He floated on driftwood at the age of 6 for days at sea. About to slip into the waters forever, as his strength faded. The Dragon had found him.

"Hey, Mister Merlin don't leave me all alone out here alright...." Heero got a sweatdrop over his head as he stood a bit closer to Merlin, he was a bit lost honestly, and perhaps wouldn't make it back to Magnolia without him. Again, he was just a child, so his eyes were very innocent and full of trust.

Perhaps his answer arrived sooner than he anticipated as he heard the voice of a child coming from behind him. Out on the field next to the two old pillars was a young boy who so happened to slid down one of the old canals of the place. The expression of the boy as he saw him, that was an expression of someone who never viewed the world in a bad way and oh how young he was. So full of life, much like a seed with a new kind of hope, children as a matter of fact were looked up highly by adults for they are the new generation that can craft a better future. It was nice to see such adventurous youth wandering around all by themselves just for the thrill of it, he finds it adorable.

“Dear boy, I cannot answer that question for what you seek is a dragon and I believe I have not seen their like in years.”
Why would someone look for a dragon? This drawn the magician’s curiosity as he looked into his eyes once more, when he did he saw something amazing about him.

This boy has an abnormally high capacity and a more concentrated amount of mana and at a young age too! Usually Maturity would accomplish such feat but this is quite rare.

“My name is Merlin, Heero, much like you I am a Magus.”
Heero’s sensory seemed to be sharp too, there’s no mistaking that look in his eyes. He seek a dragon, was it a friend of his?

And finally the answer hits him right at the face, a dragon raising a child? For some reason he believed him, such a unique story he has unlike most youth who aspire to become mages themselves but has attained such title early. Well he can’t say for sure whether he’s a novice or not.

Dragons can never reach outer space, there is no air for them to use to carry the weight of their bodies and even if a Dragon managed to reach the level of space, they would float around endlessly and would have a hard time controlling and maneuvering through the stars, such actions for a dragon be suicide whether they needed breathable air or not, unless of course they are born in the cosmos. A hybrid dragon which space maneuvering capabilities…. That would be one heck of a dragon.

Perhaps his “Parent Dragon” told him that story from when he was young; it’s just that it’s not entirely true or false. It’s not proven but there’s a possibility of it. Having told the Magician his purpose, he made a forlorn expression. He must have triggered a horrible flashback.

The Magician knelt down to his height and drew a piece of cloth and wiped the drops of sweat off his face and thus putting it away. “But I do believe that finding one would be quite exciting, who knows what we might encounter here? What are the chances of it? I won’t leave you not until we search every inch of the place for any signs of your dragon alright?”
He started off taking a step further into the ruins with the boy until they were at the grand entrance that leads to its subterranean level. Before descending to the deep levels, he notices that there was a broken set up for a boundary field. He came to one of the pillars in order to examine a broken fragment of a gem, perhaps the first design of a Lacrima in earthland.

It was common knowledge that there are some stones that can be used as storage to prolong life and energy and it has a number of uses. These were made to put up a boundary field to detect magical presences and its only been recently that it was broken. There’s no mistaking that the material was centuries old, the device the stones were on were designed to drain and supply magic for the stones that shape the boundary field.

But this boundary field wasn’t designed to be a solid barrier and even if it did, the stones that form it would have lost durability. It was supposed to be some kind of detection system for any intruders who would venture down there
    .

Back to the point it was broken but not because the stones it was targeted… it’s because it’s been filled with another source of mana that had cancelled out its own power.

“Hmmm… so if this was powering up the field.. Heero let’s go this way first!”
The Magician called him out, drawing him away from the pathway that leads down to deeper levels. Who knows what creature had taken residence in there.

Heero walked next to the guy with his hands behind his head. The young Fairy Tail wizard had no idea where he was. His first trip to the Ancient Ruins.

"Man this place is old as DUST!!!" Heero called out his, voice immaturely echoing throughout the entire ruins--as deep as something out of a Tomb Raider game. He saw giant heads, probably old gods carved out of stone; vines overgrowing literally everything. Sunlight breaking here and there.

Merlin then stopped and plucked a stone from a wall; Heero noticed they were at some kind of entryway to an arena or some kind of old hall.

"You mean to tell me you can READ what's on these old rocks! Man you must be old as dust too Mr. Merlin!" Heero said as he walked up next to him, standing on his tippy toes curiously flicking his eyes between the stone and Merlin. "Hey! I can speak Dragon!" Heero vyed for attention as Merlin ignored him, going into a channel of thought and mumblings as Heero sweatdropped and followed him, as Merlin yelled for them to go a certain way.

"Wait! The rock was powering what field?!" doing some inner reasoning on his own, Heero figured it out. "Ok...after this you're teaching me to read that language on that rock...AND...you're going to tell me what the hell kind of field you're on about? I don't see a damn thing!" covering his mouth, as he'd cursed on accident. Being told not too all the time, he got a sweatdrop--as he was just a kid.

"...........Mr. Merlin." Heero leaned in whispering to him, as they walked further into the caverns. Breaking about five minutes of what little silence the child version of Heero provided to Merlin. "......Where's your girlfriend? I really want one when I get older ya know?" he noticed Merlin was also out here all by himself. "Earthland to Mr. Merlin...are you even from this planet? Hey acknowledge me!" although he would one day succeed or go down alongside Merlin as the strongest wizard across many a galaxy and reality, for now--he was just annoying as hell. Perhaps Merlin could teach him patience somehow.

It was almost as if he was stabbed by a huge pike lance, those words coming out from the youth. He didn’t mind being looked up to but once you start talking about him being as old as dust, he’d definitely whack him with his staff but he choose not to.

He seems to be in high spirits, better not break that kind of thing. “Dear boy that’s a wonderful talent you have however I would suggest you mind the words you speak off, old can be seen as an insult among seniors.. well to some of them at least.” Then out of the blue, the boy asked the Magician about his relationship and his love life.

This was kind of sudden to him, who knows what else is running to his mind right now  but perhaps while he’s dragging the boy away from the huge entrance to the subterranean quarters he could perhaps take the liberty to talk about a few things.

“My apologies dear boy, I shall answer all of them at once so pay attention.”

“I’m a traveling Magus who seeks to explore the most wondrous of things, aim to discover magic’s most beautiful pieces of art, miracles, calamities may it be a curse or a blessing. When you grow up with good and proper education you’ll come to see the meaning behind those words.”

He lead hero to a switch in the panel, on it was a lacrima that has shattered. It was then concluded that it runs in such cycles, the device could have drained some of the mana that cancelled it out, causing the crystalized Lacrima to explode.

“For the next question.. well I do have a girlfriend in a faraway place who misses me so much, I plan on returning to her after I’m done seeing all the wonderful sights Fiore has to offer.” He picks up all the fragments and put them in a small pouch.

“I don’t read the language of rock, I just recognize what it is made for dear child.” The Magician then pulled out four sets of jewels and showed them to hero. Then he starts throwing them in all four directions around them.

Small traces of magic leak out of Merlin’s eyes as a transparent barrier activates. “This dear boy is a boundary field, which can be formed by a few set of colored stones.” He had to be specific and make sure his explanation isn’t too complicated.

“You have seen a barrier that wards off attacks right? However Boundary fields are much greater than barriers, twice or thrice as huge! Some are even big enough to engulf a city! Now observe the characteristics of this one child.”

The boundary field merlin set up was primarily made because he forces the stones to flicker and release their magic. As one can see it’s a transparent barrier similar to glass, but as the boy can see a bird managed to enter the boundary field and out of it and at that moment Merlin’s eyes began to flicker with magic when it enters and escapes.

“This boundary you’re in right now is a small one that allows you to detect anything that might come in here. When you make a boundary field you can enchant it for you to create a rule while anyone who’s anyone is on it. For instance…”

The boy could feel the barrier deactivating, the transparent force of the boundary field melts and a new one is placed “The boundary field that I owe, as long as both of us are on it will remain hidden from sight and no sound may escape from this boundary either.”

In just a nick of time to prove the Magician’s theory, a Golem was spotted, seemed to be patrolling the grounds for any intruders. It didn’t see Merlin and the boy; it was heading for the direction of the subterranean entrance.

It was sent to investigate what happened to the broken barrier or down there to whom or what must have entered there. “See Heero? The Golem did not spot us or hear us, as long as we are in the barrier of course.” The boundary field melts again and the stones that make the boundary field flew back to Merlin’s hands and put away into his pockets.

If you want I can teach you how to make your own boundary field someday.
