    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon

    Grey eyes flashed on a gray horizon. This place... why had they taken her here? Well, actually, she knew why. She just didn't know why it had to be a dismal place like this. This smog-filled city was completely destitute from any natural beauty. Or at least anything that appealed to Skylar. Her little sister on the other hand, she would probably love it here. She appreciated the finer things that this certain city had to offer. Skylar happened to be sitting inside one of those finer things right now. It was a vehicle that somehow hovered right off the ground, but was still too heavy to actually fly. In a artistic sense, Skylar actually felt bad for the mechanical beast. To live a life where the sky is just out of your reach...

    Unfortunately, she needed to be worried about herself right now. You see, she wasn't exactly in this car by choice. She continued her even breathing to resemble sleep while her captors were in arms reach. They were quiet, which she didn't like. She was hoping that if she faked being asleep that they would divulge something, anything she could use to break out of this contraption. And worse of all, her katana, her lovely blade, had been confiscated as well. She missed that comforting weight against her hip. Now it was replaced with a loneliness and a longing.

    These fiends had grabbed Skylar months ago. Months. She just managed to track down her little sister and only two weeks later did she get kidnapped. Skylar took a deep breath and shuffled a bit in her laying position. She did it to seem like she was dreaming but also to calm her breathing. She couldn't think about Haretsa at a time like this. She needed to focus. Skylar began drawing a mental plan in her mind.
    Task one, get these bonds off.
    Task two, get her sword.
    Task three, get the hell out of here.

    For some odd reason, Skylar still had access to her magic. She could feel the eternano flowing through her veins. Her power gave her a little sense of peace. She could still fight back! Skylar theorized that because she wielded a sword that her captors must have assumed that she didn't have any magic. Hopefully that mistake would be to her advantage.
    ~~~
    They rode along for what felt like hours. Hours of listening to the rumble of the engine. It was maddening yet calming. She pushed out her distractions and discomforts while she thought of ways to escape. Every now and then she would shuffle around in the sleep until she was up against the wall with her back against it. Thankfully her robes were still held tight around her body. Modesty wasn't something Skylar suffered from, but she didn't want any of these fools getting a look at her - that was for sure. One good thing about sitting and listening for the past couple of hours was that Skylar was being aware of the subtle motions of the vehicle. When it stopped, there was a moment of weightlessness in her stomach before gravity caught back up. And when they accelerated, Skylar was pushed back ever so slightly. There it was.
    That was the key.
    She didn't care where they were or how many of them there were. The next time this thing stopped, she was getting out of there. She wasn't stupid though. She knew that she needed to have some sort of plan. Since her back was to the wall and she was blindfolded, she knew she would be safe to cast a spell. She took a deep breath and let her magic run forth. "Senses of the Goddess!", she thought aloud. Her senses seemed to spread out as her telekinesis did just that. Her confines were just a plain metal room with no seats and a latched door. There weren't even any windows. And no wonder it was so quiet...
    She was alone.
    She immediately loosened her stiff muscles. Skylar felt royally stupid for sitting here by herself for hours, pretending to be asleep. Thank God no one else would know about this... She could see with her telekinetic senses that her bindings were just a tangle of rope. She hadn't dared to try and unravel them this whole time for the fear of anyone with her. She probably could have escaped hours ago!
    Skylar snapped her fingers and the ropes around her wrists began untying themselves. After they laid in a pile at her feet, she rubbed her raw skin before slipping her blindfold off. It was dark. The only light in the room was the aura from her spell. After getting up and stretching her aching muscles into activity again, Skylar closed her eyes again and focused. She spread her senses out even further - all the way to the 30 meter limit. Any farther and Skylar would be overwhelmed. First she looked past the door that barred her passage. Immediately outside, she could see the ground below moving at an alarming rate. So she was alone in her own transport. A transport that moved rather quickly. She pushed further. Two magic-mobiles followed her transport closely, matching it's speed expertly. This time, six waves moved back at her. Two from the nearest vehicle, and four from the furthest. Skylar turned her attention to the front now. Her driver was alone in the front cab. Skylar's eyes snapped open though as she searched the passenger seat. There her katana sat underneath what looked like a filthy satchel. A flicker of anger ringed through Skylar's body. How dare they disrespect her gorgeous weapon! Setting her disgust aside for the moment, she scanned further ahead. The next two cars were far more worrisome than the last two. Instead of six waves coming back at her like last time, thirteen resonated at her. She wasn't getting out that way. Okay, now that she had some sort of bearing of her surroundings she could finally take action.
    Now to get her weapon.
    Unfortunately, Skylar couldn't manipulate objects that she can't physically see, so she couldn't just bust out and have her katana smash through a window to get to her. She only had one other option. Skylar walked over to the side of the wall where the passenger seat was and crouched down. She only had one shot at this. She rubbed her hands together and took another deep breath. Skylar then placed both her open palms on the wall and cast her spell.
    "Phasewalk!"
    A incandescent lavender shaded magic circle bloomed on the wall and spun around, immersing the dark room in a cool light. Suddenly, the wall that was before her was no more. She heard the driver exclaim in surprise, but she wasn't going to let him have any leeway. She immediately grabbed for her katana but stopped when she saw the pack. For a split second she contemplated what might be inside before adrenaline kicked in and she just grabbed it and her weapon. The driver let go of the wheel to try and stop her from arming herself but once her hand was back through her magic circle, it shattered and the wall existed again. Skylar slipped her katana over her shoulder and strapped the pack on. That's when the vehicle jarred backwards. All her kidnappers were about to know she was trying to escape and they would know she was a magic user now.
    It was time to go.
    Skylar raised a hand at the locked door. She began to try to telekinetically pull apart the lock so the door would just open, but it was honestly just taking too long. Skylar braced herself, gathered power, and sent a swath of telekinetic energy careening at the door. It buckled almost immediately. Her quiet prison erupted into sound and life as the door ripped off it's hinges and was sent flying into the car that was following ever so closely behind it...
    She could hear the sound of breaking glass and tearing metal over the roar of the winds, but she didn't have time to wonder how many of her captors she'd incapacitated. Skylar sprinted to the edge of the cab and jumped into the open air.
    "Ascension of the Goddess!"
    Skylar's forward momentum sent her careening forward as the telekinetic field around her body took hold. She swerved hard to the right to avoid the truck she'd damaged and then as high as she could manage. By now, she could hear the sound of the other vehicles coming to a halt to see what happened. She couldn't think about it though. She just had to get away.
    Thankfully, they were still in the city. With all the tall buildings around, Skylar was sure she'd be able to lose her captors before long. She rocketed around skyscrapers, dipped under bridges, and zipped down alleys. Anything to get away. But they were persistent. Skylar guessed that once they realized that she could use magic that they were tracking her with it. She whizzed down several more alleys before touching down on the ground and dismissing her spell. She would have to huff it out on foot now. Skylar scanned the area with her  sharp grey eyes. She saw many different kinds of businesses - all annoyingly car related - until her eyes landed on a magic post office with a picture of roadrunner mailman. An idea formed in her head.
    Time to call in the calvary.
    Five minutes later, a letter was sent via teleportation circle to a certain woman that read as so:
    "Behold, the intricate and subtle weaving of my cunning arcane . . . ah, screw it. Burn a lot!"
    - Haretsa
        The day started out just as any other did in the Mountain Village; quiet and serene. This was a far cry from the state of the village two weeks prior when the Narukami clan of Midi launched a large scale offensive against Infinity Hydra. It was a difficult task, but the guild managed to repel the invaders and was now in the process of rebuilding. This meant that a certain cream haired mage was kept rather busy helping to repair the guild hall as well as make significant improvements to its defensive systems. While Haretsa was currently making fixes to the training room, her newly adopted daughter was getting herself ready to aid in the guilds reconstruction when she heard what sounded like rumbling thunder. Peeking around the corner into her mother’s office room, curious little red eyes caught glimpse of a rather ornate looking envelope spinning around just above the desk. ”A letter? I wonder how this thing even get here?” the pink haired child wondered, staring at the letter before outstretching a hand towards it. Chains stretched out from magic circles on her fingers as if an extension of her own limbs, taking hold of the letter and bringing it in towards her person. Knowing the letter was intended for her mother, Lillith quickly slipped out the door and made her way down the hall to the training room.
        As she approached, Lillith could hear mother unleashing a relentless barrage of spells against one of the training rooms reinforced walls. When she opened the door, the child felt the wave of heat blast against her face as she saw her mother standing in the center of the room; a proud grin upon her face. ”All of my strongest spells in a row and not so much as a single scorch mark! That should keep Malva from melting this place again any time soon… I’ll have to ask her to help run some tests with this later on down the road.” the Head of Destruction thought to herself, turning to see her pride and joy standing patiently just outside of the door due to the heat. ”Hey Lilly, whatcha got there?” Haretsa asked, approaching her daughter before kneeling down and ruffling her hair. ”It’s a letter for you, Mommy! It magically poofed up onto your desk!” the child exclaimed, handing her mother the letter. Haretsa gave the girl a confused look as she accepted the parchment and began to peel it open. Who on earth would be writing her a letter and having it sent straight to her desk of all places? How was this even possible was an even more intriguing question as her hazel eyes set about reading the envelope's contents. All those thoughts faded away as her eyes widened. ”That’s not Emi’s handwriting...s-so it has to be…!” Haretsa choked up a small bit. It was a bit difficult for Haretsa to believe after all these months, but she held out hope that this was real. ”Lilly, go grab your coat. We’re… gonna go meet someone very special, ok?” ”Ok!!”
         After roughly an hour spent mostly trying to find the damn city, Ragna’s momentum began to slow down as they finally found Motor City; home for any self respecting gearhead like Haretsa. The city was rather disgusting looking due to the overlaying smog today, but Haretsa was more focused on trying to not step on other peoples cars. ”If only she mentioned where exactly to meet her… and parking isn’t exactly ideal for something this big. You might have to wait on the outskirts of the town, Ragna…” Haretsa explained from inside the cockpit, resulting in a rather disappointed whine from the mech. "Yes I know its pretty butt for me too... I can't even show you off to the nerds in this city without toppling half of it in the process...They should have built this damn place BIGGER." she said with a sigh, unbuckling her seat belt and throwing on her brothers black leather jacket over her tanktop; the ice white symbol of the now disbanded Eclipse Soul still displaying prominently on the back. She then walked over and unbuckled Lillith from her seat as the cockpit opened up, giving her daughter a piggyback ride as they made their way into the city with one goal in mind; to find a Rainbow in all this smog.
    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon
    "She's around here somewhere, idiot! Look harder!" The order was followed by a muttered affirmance before the sound of shuffling feet echoed through the alleyway. Skylar could hear things being overturned and doors being kicked in. This couldn't go on much longer. The swordswoman had been running for hours now. She was sure that her sister had to be getting here soon, but she couldn't hold out much longer. Skylar had mostly depleted her magic by now. She figured out that this was how they were tracking her, so the less magic she was projecting meant the farther she could run - however since she had less magic - she was getting exhausted. She was filthy from running through these grubby streets and her feet were beginning to hurt. She didn't have time to dwell though.
    Skylar was pressed against a wall around the corner from the approaching man. She needed a distraction if she was going to get back out to the street. She looked around quickly. Perhaps she could throw something in the opposite direction? Grey eyes darted back and forth frantically. She couldn't manually pick up anything around her, which was trashcans or bags of anything. She'd make too much noise. She'd have to tap into her already dangerously low reserves. "FIND HER ALREADY!", the same voice from earlier wailed. It scared Skylar into action. She knelt down and grabbed a handful of gravel. She stared at rocks but for a scary moment, they didn't move. Skylar increased her focus and the rocks finally started floating as a magic circle appeared in her palm. She wasted no time chucking the rocks down another alleyway with a forceful push of her magic. The swordswoman ran for dear life. She was just about to round the corner into another alley when her vision suddenly clouded. Her right shin connected something incredibly hard. She went down like the rocks she'd just thrown. Her leg was numb now and her vision was still a bit blurry. I must have less power left than I thought, dammit!
    Skylar crawled over to the wall and blinked hard until her gaze was sharp again. She was about to pass out. Now of all times. She tucked her legs in and hugged the wall for dear life. If they didn't come around the corner then they wouldn't find her. Hopefully no one noticed tha-
    "It came from down there. Go look!" Skylar's throat tightened as she put her hand on the hilt of her blade. No, not like this. She can't get captured again. She can't die like this! Training kicked in as Skylar began steadying her breathing and blocking the pain in her leg. She had to do this. She had to survive. "There's a faint signal coming from around the corner. Just go look you dimwit!" Skylar bit her lip and swallowed the lump in her throat. This was it. All or nothing. She tightened the grip on her blade and withdrew it silently. Her runed blade gleamed even though Skylar her was bruised and battered. She took another deep breath as she saw a approaching shadow. It seemed like the man had some sort of pike in his hands. It was aimed level in front of him. That means Skylar would have to come in low to get the jump on him. However, she didn't know if she could manage the movement because of her leg. No matter. She had to try.
    Skylar's heart was beating in her ears as the man got closer and closer. With every step he took, her anxiety built. She was acutely aware that she might be hyperventilating, but she blocked that out too. N-No! Can't...lose consciousness...now! Not now! I wont be...an easy target!"
    Then it hit her.
    This is how Haretsa must have felt. Her little sister - at such a young age too - had been abducted as well. Is this what was running through her mind as well? Did she wonder what they were going to do to her? If she was going to live or die? Skylar twitched before liquid rage filled her body. Fuck the pain, forget the outcome, Skylar was going to win. Her grey eyes hardened to the point of diamonds. She wasn't going to die today! The tip of his pike just appeared over the corner. Skylar slowly stood the best she could with the dangerous edge of her sword ready to slash.
    "Wait. There something coming from the north! These readings are off the charts! T-There's one... No, two of them! It must be her, let's go!" The pike disappeared. Skylar's rage only flooded on. No, no, NO! She wasn't going to let them get away, not to hurt anyone else! She rushed around the corner and raised her blade. It was then that two people were walking along the sidewalk at the complete opposite end of the street. Skylar managed to get a good look at one of them and suddenly all the strength left her bones.
    "S-Sis?"
    It was all she managed to say before her katana slipped from her hands and she fell into a broken and unconscious pile on the ground.
    "I’m the mongoose and you’re gonna be my dinner."
    - Haretsa
      The mother and child hadn’t been in the city but for a few minutes before the cream haired mage’s ears picked up on some shouting. This shouting originated from a man and was about finding “her.” Haretsa had no idea who they were looking for or why, but given the fact that it seemed as though they had stumbled upon the more abandoned ghetto of Motor City, she reasoned that it couldn’t be for anything good. ”Well, looks like we get to kick some thugs butts while we’re here. That sound like some fun to you, Lilly?” Haretsa asked, kneeling down so Lillith could dismount from her back. ”I bet I can beat more of them than you can!” the child responded, sticking her tongue out at her mother. ”AS IF!! FIRST TO TEN K.O’S WINS!!” ”Only if the winner gets ice cream!! With extra sprinkles!!!” ”YER DAMN RIGHT I’M GETTIN EXTRA SPRINKLES!!!!” Haretsa proclaimed in decisive victory, as the two proceeded towards the alleyway the voices had originated from.
         Hearing the voice from earlier declare he was picking up on two massive magic signatures from their current direction, Haretsa readied herself for battle as she heard approaching footsteps. What she wasn’t prepared for was the first figure she saw at the far end of the street opposite of herself and Lillith. ”S-Sky..?” Haretsa blinked in confusion, staring at her sister down the street. Even from this distance, Skylar’s injuries and exhaustion were evident; especially when the strawberry blonde woman dropped her ornate katana and fell down against the side walk. It was at this same moment that a group of about forty men rounded a corner behind Haretsa and Lillith, also taking note of Skylar’s current predicament. ”There’s that elusive little bitch. Someone go gra-THE HELL!?” the man exclaimed, as Haretsa grabbed hold of Lillith and unleashed a raging torrent of flames out of the backside of her body; propelling her to Skylar’s location with blinding speeds and causing the group of man to fall back as to not get torched. The moment she was at her sister’s side, Haretsa came to a screeching halt and let Lillith free; kneeling down and frantically checking over Skylar’s body. ”She’s barely giving off any magical essence… and… w-what the hells with all these scars and bruises…. Uhm… ok check the pulse? No, no, CPR first! GAH, I’M AN ENGINEER NOT A FREAKING DOCTOR!! Where’s Sayrn when I need her… wait, that’s it!” Haretsa realized in her epiphany, digging through the pockets of her jacket before pulling out a small container full of strange, chewable pills. Sayrn had made these small blue pills for Ard, Tyriel, and Haretsa as sort of test runs to make sure that they would restore one’s mana in an emergency before giving them out to the rest of the guild. The Head of Destruction had already tried out these pills once during one of her extensive training sessions, only comfortable with using them on her sister because she knew that they weren’t made of fire and that they worked. Popping one out of the container, Haretsa slipped the pill into her sister’s mouth and assisted her in chewing it. While it wasn’t going to heal the damage done to her, it would at least restore her mana and allow her to regain consciousness.
         Lillith stood to the side with a tilted head and puzzled look on her face. She wasn’t sure who this person her mother was freaking out over was, but she knew that this woman was hurt and that she meant a lot to Haretsa. It was in this moment that the leader of the group of men spoke up with a crossbow pointed at Haretsa’s back side. ”Hey! I don’t know who you two are, but I’m gonna have to ask you to step away from Sleeping Beauty. She’s highly valuable property that belongs to the Dragon Riot guild, so you’d better step away if you two don’t wanna get hurt!!” the man warned, causing Haretsa to clench her fist so hard that she drew blood from her own hand. It was those bastards again… the same ones that were responsible for the mass kidnappings that happened in Karakuri City, the ones who had taken Haretsa and Emilia away from their homes as children to engineer them into powerful dragon killing machines; the ones who had murdered Haretsa’s mother before her very eyes when she was a mere toddler. ”Lilly… I need you to take Sky pretty far away from here… but make sure it’s a place with a good view of where we are now, ok?” Haretsa asked her daughter calmly as she stood, her hair overcasting her eyes as it began to slowly change over from its cream white to jet black. Lillith gulped a bit and picked up the large chested woman with relative ease despite her small stature, nodding and slightly cowering a bit as she knew the form her mother was taking all too well. ”It’s ok sweetie, I’ll treat you to as much ice cream as you can eat to make up for this, I promise.” Haretsa spoke as calmly as she could to her daughter, her body trembling with anger that was waiting to burst as her upper torso changed over to black scales with a pulsating midnight purple between the plates. ”O-okay… K-kick their butts for hurting Sky lady!” Lillith exclaimed ruefully, summoning her chains to grapple onto a nearby building and swing her and the unconscious Skylar to a faraway rooftop.
        The large squad of men stood by in shock as Haretsa’s magical power roared outward like a tidal wave throughout the entire ghetto of the city once Lillith was far enough away. The ground began to quake violently as the winds howled and shattered whatever windows remained in the surrounding buildings. Every magic tracking instrument that the group possessed instantly shattered from this sudden outburst, as all forty of them looked terrifyingly onward. Black flames with midnight purple tints raged all around the Head of Destruction, turning her attention to glare angrily at the men with her now pitch black eyes. The ground broke apart into small craters as Haretsa stepped slowly towards the men; something deep inside of her revelling in the mortified looks upon all of their faces. ”Th-There’s no way…. but there’s no mistaking this inhumane power!!” the leader of the group cried out in fear, as he and his men began to feel their bodies being forced to the ground by the magical pressure Haretsa was producing from her sheer anger. She knew all too well that this power wasn’t just from her Fusion Force, but from the same thing that was enjoying the looks on these poor bastards’ faces as the young girl approached. It seemed as this man knew what this power was as well, as he shouted it aloud despite the howling winds about him. ”I was there the day Yugi Sparrow resurrected that monstrosity…. This power is the same as the King of Dragon’s… As Acnologia’s!!”[/color] ”Yugi Sparrow, huh? I’ll have to keep that name in mind for later… I appreciate the information. Glad I got it out of you before you DIED FOR HURTING MY FAMILY AGAIN!!!!”
        Out on the rooftop, Lillith watched as she witnessed her mother’s angry display of her current peak of power. Even from this rooftop, Lillith could feel the winds howling and the violent shaking of the earth far below them. This was about the time that the pink haired child noticed Skylar starting to come too. Scarlet red orbs blinked curiously as the girl tried to give the strawberry blonde a cheerful smile; despite being scared of her mother’s display of power. ”U-Uhm, hi Mrs. Sky Lady! I know you’re probably confused but my name is Lillith and that” Lillith paused, pointing over to the origin of the insane magic pressure that was practically tearing Motor City’s ghetto to pieces on its own ”Is my Mommy, who's gonna kick those peoples butts for hurting you!” she explained, giving Skylar the most precious and innocent look that the woman had probably ever seen in quite a long time.
    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon
    Skylar's consciousness was swimming somewhere in the dark. Her eyes weren't open but her ears worked fine. One moment she could hear the roasting sound of flames or the clink of chains, the next she imagined herself at her villa, sipping tea. She continued on like that for what felt like hours, drifting through the avenues of delirium. Until she heard a certain last name.
    "Sparrow."
    Skylar's grey eyes snapped open. That name... It sounded oddly familiar... And when they said the name "Acnologia", Skylar's brow furrowed. What was this feeling coming over her? She...was remembering something. It was then that Lilith looked over and saw that Skylar was awake. "U-Uhm, hi Mrs. Sky Lady! I know you’re probably confused but my name is Lillith and that-" The little girl paused and pointed off to the side. ”Is my Mommy, who's gonna kick those peoples butts for hurting you!” Skylar stared at the girl for a moment longer before following her line of sight. As soon as her eyes fell upon the scene unfolding in the alley she'd just been in, her lips parted a bit in surprise. Such magical pressure! The old and decrepit buildings were barely holding up to this kind of power. Oh, and the heat...! It was wafting up at the two females even this far away. Skylar could see pieces of trash that were getting set on fire just from the overwhelming temperatures alone. But at the middle of it all was some kind of strange creature. The nature of this magic felt somewhat familiar but Skylar couldn't put her finger on it. Skylar looked back at the little girl. That thing is your mother? Skylar thought to herself. The strawberry-blonde tried sitting up - which was a difficult move - but eventually got it. She was sore all over and she was sure that she looked terrible as well. Whatever was going on, she just needed to stay safe until Haretsa got here-
    Skylar's eyes snapped back at the fiery creature in the alleyway.
    She just remembered seeing Haretsa before passing out! And this magic power radiating out was just too much like her's. But...w-what the hell was she doing looking like that?! And her magic was so much more pure and radiant now. She'd gotten much more powerful since Skylar had last seen her. The woman gripped her katana which had been comfortably placed next to her. Skylar shakily got onto her hands and knees, her breath ragged the whole time. Lilith looked at her in concern. "You should probably not try and move right now. You look pretty beat up! U-Uhm, no offense..." Skylar looked over at the little girl as she tried to regain her composure. She'd called Haretsa her mother, but Skylar had seen her little sister only a couple months ago and this child had to be around seven or eight years old. Did Haretsa adopt her? Skylar certainly hoped so because she couldn't imagine her sister having....r-relations...
    Despite the pain rippling through her body, she managed to give the child a dazzling smile. "If what you're telling me is true, then you're my niece! My name is Skylar Shikon, your Mommy's big sister!" Lilith's eyes sparkled a bit at this new information. "Oh wow! That's great, I always wanted a- h-hey, what are you doing!?" Skylar trying to stand up now but she fell to her knees again. Lilith rushed over and helped her to her feet. Skylar ended up using her katana as a sort of crutch to keep her standing. Lilith stared at Skylar with trepidation. "You really shouldn't be moving right now!" Skylar shook her head as she took a deep breath to steady her heart. Her body was racked with pain but she noticed that for some reason her magic levels were normal again. Her sister must have done something, but she didn't really know what it was. "I...have to...help her..." Lilith looked at her new aunt like she was crazy. "It's only 40 something guys! Mommy will be fine! Besides, you can barely move!" Skylar's grey eyes narrowed a bit as she stared down at the scene below. Her sight darted back and forth as she counted the combatants below. She looked back over at Lilith. "What do you mean? There are only 35 five down there." Lilith looked at Skylar like she was crazy. Again.
    "What does that even matter for?! Mommy's got it in the bag! I mean - she better! She promised me sprink-" Lilith was saying before a unknown force wrapped around her all of a sudden and yanked her backwards. Lilith found it strange though, it didn't seem offensive - it was even cushioned - but it had caught her completely by surprise. Then she noticed her aunt's outstretched hand and the scorching spot that she'd just been standing at. She'd saved her in a split second...
    Lilith looked back and saw five men approaching them from the adjacent roof, magic staves leveled in their direction. One of them however, Skylar recognized from down below. It was the leader of this unit. He must have broken off from the rest of his platoon so he could claim his prize while Haretsa was distracted in her anger. Lilith looked at Skylar when her aunt set her down next to her side. "How did you know that they...?" She said before she noticed the bright rainbow gleam coming from Skylar's eyes. "Woah, pretty..."
    "Ahh, the Dragon's Spirit. It seems your whole family has Dragon Blood in their veins don't they? Your's is the peskiest of all. Your foresight makes you very hard to trap, but it's not impossible!" He chuckled just a bit and some of his men did as well. The fact that they found kidnapping and chasing her halfway across the city funny only annoyed Skylar that much more. "Now, Councilwoman, that was just a warning shot. Resist again and we won't miss" Skylar's eyes tightened a bit. You mean they weren't even trying to hit Skylar? They aimed right at Lilith but referred to her as if she wasn't even in existence!?
    THAT was unacceptable.
    But through Skylar's anger, something...clicked. Fell into place, if you will. Lilith looked at her aunt with a puzzled expression. "Councilwoman? What's that even mean?" Their pursuers suddenly turned pale as they realized they had just made a mistake. Or, better yet, that they'd been making mistakes this whole time. All of a sudden, Skylar stood up straight. She was breathing evenly and Lilith noticed that she was radiating strength like she'd never seen before. The leader swore under his breath as his men moved back a bit. "Dammit, the memory seal is weakening! Now! Attack, NOW!" The mages fumbled with their staves but hastily brought them to bear before firing bolts of lightning and fire at the two women.
    Lilith instinctively put up a shield of sorts as she braced herself for impact. However, she didn't feel any heat of fire or the tingling of electricity. When she opened her eyes again all she could see was bright orange light emanating through her chains. She looked over at her aunt, who was completely unharmed. In fact, all her injuries were gone! And she was releasing magic pressure so strong that it was seemingly on par or even surpassing Haretsa's. The men across the rooftop were struggling to stand at this point as Skylar's magical pressure began cracking the building they were standing on. Lilith was perplexed. Where in the world did all this godly power come from?! How could her aunt - who was struggling to stand just a minute ago - putting out this much energy!? The light finally died off and Lilith noticed that some sort of frontal barrier had blocked the attack from ever hitting the two women.
    "Lilith."
    The girl looked back at her aunt. "I'm sure you realize by now that these are bad guys. Bad guys that need to be dealt with. Now, any child of Haretsa is going to be a fighter, but I want you to just sit there and let me deal with them. Is that okay, sweetie?" Skylar said as her orange magical aura enlarged, sending her strawberry-blonde hair floating about while she looked back at her niece. Lilith gulped for a second before nodding. "Y-Yes, but what did they do?" Skylar smiled again. But not like before. This smile wasn't to make Lilith feel good. It was a reflection of Skylar's emotions.
    And she didn't look too happy this time.
    "FIRE, ALL OF IT!" The man cackled suddenly as Skylar took a step forward. Orange magic power rippled from her body as rainbow light leaked from her eyes. "They..." skylar disappeared from the spot as spells smashed into it. She reappeared on the left. "Took my..." They fired again. She vanished again but reappeared in the air right above them. "...FUTURE! NOW I'M TAKING THEIRS!" Skylar was falling down into the fray of five men with her elegant sword already drawn - which she probably unsheathed while she was moving too fast for the untrained eye to see. She touched the ground in the middle of the group as a radiant magic circle appeared in her empty hand. "Sword of the Goddess!" The magic circle pulsed for a half-second before flashing into a orange-hued telekinetic katana that sent a shockwave of magic through the entire area that even Haretsa would feel from below. From there, Skylar became a blur of motion. It was supremely impressive to watch. She flipped backwards, avoiding strikes then rocketed forward, shearing men in half - right through their weapons. Lilith counted. Only 20 seconds had passed and the only man standing was the leader. And standing wasn't exactly the right word.
    The enraged woman sat on his chest with both her mystical blades against his throat. He looked up at her with pure fear. What had he done? He'd angered a Goddess! She was bringing down divine punishment on them all! Skylar's power was at it's peak now. Her magic was radiating out as a pillar of bright light and every loose object in a mile radius was floating weirdly in a loose telekinetic field. Good thing these slums were abandoned...
    Skylar growled down at the man that had caused her so much torment. "I am Skylar Shikon, former 4th Seat of the Magic Council! I am NOT something you can toy with!" Her rage was making her blind now. A curse for the Shikons. The man only had one chance and he took it. In these close quarters, it was nothing for him to reach up and around Skylar's blades and stamp her forehead with his hand. He quickly moved it to the right and a deep locking sound echoed throughout the area. "Seal! You will obey me you wen-" It was all he managed to say before the recoil from the surprise attack caused Skylar to fly backwards, slicing easily through his throat as she did so. Skylar fell back and writhed on the cement as she felt his seal taking hold again. The telekinesis in the area suddenly stopped and the light radiating from Skylar sucked back into her body like a drain swallowing water. The woman let out a terrifying scream before she fell silent again, smoke wafting up off of her body as she laid across from the dead man.
    Skylar's power had been sealed away again.
    "I’m the mongoose and you’re gonna be my dinner."
    - Haretsa
       The young Dragon Slayer on the ground was having far too much fun to pay much attention to what was happening up on the rooftops. While she felt the power spike and the shockwave that ended up ripping its way through the air, Haretsa simply dismissed it all as Lillith protecting Skylar since she was in a very weakened state. The now black haired mage was far too busy enjoying the screams of fear and agony that were proceeding out of the mouths of the men before her from her presence alone. These bastards deserved to burn for what they had done to countless innocent lives. That’s what Haretsa kept telling herself as she watched them all writhe in pain, at least until she heard a scream come from the area Lillith and Skylar were. The one screaming sure wasn’t Lillith so it had to have been Skylar!
        Hearing her big sister scream in agony simply served to push Haretsa’s anger over the edge. She immediately blasted up high into the skies with her flames before coming to a halt, keeping herself a float in mid air as she looked down upon her halpless targets. She then spoke to them their final words, but in a completely different language. ”Zu’u Los Faal Jud Se Dovah, Ahrk Zu’u Fen Wahl Hei Aus Fah Fiiz Dii Umriid!!!” the young girl shouted, her voice echoing throughout the abandoned ghetto of motorcity with authority as she began to gather a massive amount of black flames within her mouth as she pulled her head back. ”OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP.” Lillith panicked, quickly jumping over to her aunt’s location and grabbing hold of her. ”TO THE HAPPY PLACE!!” she exclaimed, as a portal opened up and sucked the two in before closing immediately. The portal carried the girl and her aunt to a rather… colorful land, where the ground was ice cream, the rivers flowed with chocolate milk, and there were unicorns with laser beams coming out of their eyes flying around everywhere. ”Welcome to my imagination! I kinda should have brought us here in the first place….. uhm… s-sorry…. but here we’ll be safe from what Mommy’s about to do!” Lillith explained, pointing to the left for Skylar to witness a sort of display screen that showed Haretsa and what was about to happen back in the real world; assuming her aunt was even still conscious. DOVAH JUD LOKREIN!!!” Haretsa exclaimed; a fifteen meter wide plume of black and purple flames rocketing forth from her mouth to the ground below. The flames erupted into a massive explosion that set the entire ghetto ablaze and all the bastards along with it; the roar of a dragon echoing violently across the entire city.
         ”Annnnnnnnnnnnd THAT is why I took us into my imagination…. Mommy’s scary when she’s angry…” Lillith explained, knowing all too well the wrath of her adoptive mother. However, that was in the past when she was possessed and wasn’t necessarily important at the moment. Waiting until she saw things settle down outside, Lillith would then open up another portal and carry her aunt through it safely. The two emerged to witness Haretsa standing in the middle of the street; overlooking the ashes of the people she had just sent on an express trip to hell. ”The Queen of Dragons, huh? Funny, I don’t remember teaching you those words.” a voiced ringed through her mind, causing Haretsa to shake her head and blink several times as if she had just woken up. ”Queen of Dragons? What are you…” ”What you said back there before you roasted those assholes… You said ‘I am the Queen of Dragons and I will make you pay for hurting my treasure’ as well as calling your breath ‘Dragon Queen’s Roar’ all in the dragon tongue. I guess even Acnologia knew the Dragon Tongue, though I suppose that does make sense…” the male voice explained, causing Haretsa to worry. She hated the fact that the blood of that damned dragon was her own, so much so that the very mention of his name irritated her. ”Right, you don’t like hearing his name. Sorry kiddo…” the voice apologized in her head. ”We can talk about this later. Right now, we should probably look into getting a healer for Skylar.” With an agreeing nod, Haretsa rushed over to her big sister and her daughter.
         The black haired girl came to a stop as her aura dissipated, yet her dragon esque features remained as she looked into her big sister’s eyes. Haretsa couldn’t help but begin to tear up as she finally came face to face with Skylar once again after so many long months without her. ”I guess I found the Rainbow through all this smog… huh?” Haretsa laughed quietly before jumping at her sister; wrapping her scaled arms around the strawberry blonde and resting her head against the woman’s chest. ”They’re not gonna hurt you anymore, Sky… I took care of those bastards…. They’re not gonna take my treasure’s away from me ever again…” the girl sniffled out as a steady stream of tears began to pour out of her black orbs. She knew that her brother would want to speak up to his big sister as well, but all Haretsa wanted was to hog Skylar to herself for the time being. The full family reunion would come later.
    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon
    It was gone. Again. She'd tasted her strength, her power, her capability, just for a minute. And now it was sealed - locked away again. She'd lost so much in such a short time. Her family, her power, her memories...
    Skylar's eyes snapped open.
    She remembered! All of it! She could recalled everything! The man must've not had time to fully afixiate the seal on Skylar. For once, in a very long time, Skylar allowed herself a grain of bright hope to flourish in her spirit. Skylar was pulled from her mental reprieve when she witnessed an amazingly white-coated horse fly past her with a aquamarine laser beam shooting from a rainbow colored horn jutting out it's forehead. Skylar blinked once then closed her eyes again. "I've finally gone insane..."
    ”Welcome to my imagination! I kinda should have brought us here in the first place….. uhm… s-sorry…. but here we’ll be safe from what Mommy’s about to do!” Skylar sighed audibly in relief. She sat up a bit, wincing from her very real wounds. She stared about in awe - taking in this most peculiar landscape. Skylar should at least be happy that Lilith's imagination looked like this and not like some hellhole. Maybe her little sister wasn't such a bad mother after all...
    Speaking of Haretsa, Skylar zero'd in on the screen that showed the real world. The strawberry-blonde could only sit there and gawk at her sister's impressive - terrifying - and awesome display of magic. Yes, little Harety wasn't so little anymore... But what was that strange language she was speaking? She'd definitely heard it before but Skylar couldn't put her finger on it for the life of her. It was certainly something she would look into whenever this all blew over.
    ”Annnnnnnnnnnnd THAT is why I took us into my imagination…. Mommy’s scary when she’s angry…” Skylar nodded. "You can say that again, sweetie." Lilith nodded. ”Annnnnnnnnnnnd THAT is why I took us into my imagination…. Mommy’s scary when she’s angry…” Skylar's face went blank for a moment as she sighed in amusement. "I didn't mean that literally..." Once things had calmed down in reality, Lilith picked up her aunt and took her back through another portal. Skylar couldn't help but think how humiliating it was for her not even ten year old niece to have to carry her because of her own foolishness. When the pair touched down in the real world, they witnessed Haretsa standing in the middle of a ashen crater with smoke wafting around her in a dramatic fashion.
    Apparently she registered the duo's return because she turned on her heel and rocketed up at them with a burst of magic. As she did, Skylar watched as the crazy magical aura Haretsa was throwing out dissipated as she landed by them and ran over. Before long, Haretsa was in Skylar's arms - bawling her eyes out as her sister rubbed her back. "It's okay, sis. You don't have to cry! And as for this...transformation? Couldn't it have been a little...cuter? You look like a chameleon!" This earned a giggle from Lilith, but Skylar only did it to calm her sister down a bit. It was more than likely that the men from before had backup coming and Skylar was sure a detachment from the local Rune Knight division was going to be on its way as well. Skylar - former Councilwoman or not - did not want to be there when either party arrived. "We have to get moving soon. We aren't going to be alone for long."
    "How in the hell do I keep getting this turned around... I don't even recognize this damn city!" the purple haired woman sighed in frustration; fastening up her trench coat as she was greeted by a chilling wind when she emerged from the shadows. Emilia had always had a terrible sense of direction and it now placed her in the downtown of Fiore's Motor City. Every direction that the woman's noire orbs turned, there was some kind of magic mobile transport or a place dedicated to fixing them up and the like. While this was all rather impressive, what wasn't was the terrible smog that littered the air of the entire city; forcing a large majority of the citizens to walk around in masks so that they wouldn't have to breathe in as much of the air. Fortunately for Emilia, being a Dragon Slayer meant her lungs had a rather impressive filtration system, so breathing in these toxins didn't really bother her that much. Unfortunately, her lungs couldn't help the fact that the air around her still tasted like dry motor oil. "I don't know what the hell city I wound up in, but damn this place is freakin disgusting. I guess I might as well look around while I'm here... Who knows, she might just be here for.... some reason." Emilia laughed quietly to herself, placing her hands in her pockets as she began to walk through the crowded streets.
       While she walked, Emilia kept her eyes peeled for the woman that she had been looking for for the past two years. She was looking for a particular woman with long silver hair and sky blue eyes; someone who stuck out like a sore thumb considering how rare of a hair color that was. Yet here Emilia was, two years after she had made the promise to find this woman and she was still looking for her. ”How the hell is your wife this good at hiding, Reiki? Or do I just suck that bad at finding people…” Emilia thought to herself, soon having her thoughts interrupted by a massive outbreak of power coming from the far northern end of the city. While it was far away, the howling shockwaves of the wind were still powerful enough to be felt even from where Emilia was standing. What struck Emilia as odd was that this wind was incredibly warm unlike the bitter cold that swept across the rest of Fiore this time of year. ”There’s only two mages I know of capable of producing anywhere near that much power and who can heat the wind like this… It must be Ardere, that power spike is way too big to be from Haretsa. What the hell’s got him irritated enough to be releasing this much power in a city? I guess I better go check it out…. Rune Knight General and all…” Emilia thought aloud, merging into the shadows and blasting off towards the north end of the city as quickly as she could in order to investigate.
        On her way to the origin of this massive power spike, Emilia felt another massive power spike even closer to her own that soon faded before a massive explosion of black flames hit the ground and a dragon’s roar echoed across the entire city. ”What the actual fuck is happening right now?” Emilia wondered aloud, floating in the comfort of the Void away from all the chaos going on in the world above. If she hadn’t been here, she would have easily been caught up in that massive blast of black flames that practically incinerated everything it hit. The very nature of these flames was incredibly familiar to Emilia, as they reeked of the very same shadows that she wielded. Knowing what god slayer flames were like due to her brief encounter with Venir again and combining it with the roaring dragon she heard, Emilia knew that there was no way that the source of this massive power could be the Guild Master of Infinity Hydra. ”How the hell were you producing that much power, Haretsa…?” the woman wondered, watching the world above as the flames subsided and Haretsa ran to the arms of a strawberry blonde that looked very familiar to Emilia.
        ”I-I am not a freakin chameleon!” Haretsa sniffed, admittedly laughing a small bit at the joke made by her elder sister. ”I’m a dragon! ...Er, Dragon Slayer, I mean. I’m not an actual dragon… even though I kinda look like one. I just need some wings!” the currently black haired young girl laughed again, feeling her tears begin to dry up as she somewhat neglected to take in the words that Skylar had said about them needing to get moving. ”Well, at least she didn’t call you a gecko, right?” Emilia laughed as her body formed from out of the shadows not too far from where the three other mages were standing. ”AUNTIE EMI!!!
    Lillith shouted, running as fast as she could before jumping into the six foot tall woman’s open arms. Haretsa remained within Skylars arms, knowing that her sister was probably struggling to stand due to the injuries that she had sustained. ”Seems you two have been doing pretty well, huh?” Emilia asked, approaching Haretsa with Lillith held up on her shoulder. Once she got closer, the purple haired woman’s eyes got a much better look at the strawberry blonde that Haretsa was clinging too; and she couldn’t believe who she was seeing. ”C-C-Councilwoman Frost!? Is that really you?! We all thought you were dead! What are you doing in a place like this… and why are you so injured?! And... hugging Haretsa of all people...?” Emilia asked in extreme confusion. This quickly prompted a response from Lillith before Haretsa could even open her mouth. ”I don’t know what a Councilwoman is, but Sky Lady is my other auntie!!” ”The hell do you mean other auntie?!” ”She means that Sky is my big sister, Emi…She’s mine and Reiki’s big sis…” Haretsa explained, turning to face her other sister while keeping an arm wrapped around and underneath Skylar’s to help her stay on her feet.
         This was all a bit of an information overload for the Rune Knight General, as she continued to gaze into Skylar’s hazy grey eyes with confusion. ”But her last name is Frost… isn’t it? She was a Councilwoman when I was still just a rookie member of the Rune Knights… I was honestly surprised they assigned me to be a part of the unit that was responsible for guarding her… And I thought you said you didn’t remember having any siblings… so how do you even know about Reiki?” Emilia asked. ”I met Sky in Talonia a couple of months ago… She looked so much like Momma it all just… came flooding back… And Reiki’s inside my head! WANNA SAY HI?!” Haretsa exclaimed enthusiastically, prompting even more confusion to come from her other sister. ”He’s… in your head…? What do you even me-” ”Lingrah Tey Maltiid, I can somehow transfer my spirit from my lacrima to take over Haretsa’s body… Also uh… hey Skylar… long time no see, huh?” a completely different voice came from Haretsa’s mouth as she turned to look at her strawberry blonde sister with her eyes now the piercing yellow of a wolf’s; the same ones their brother had been born with all those years ago. ”....The air of this damn city is making me hallucinate all this, isn’t it? I’m probably talking to a wall right now…” Emilia uttered in complete disbelief of everything that was taking place before her.
    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon
    "Look, all I know is that you need a devastating amount of lotion to heal up that dark crackled skin! No sister of mine is going to walk around her like a forgotten salamander on my watch! Ohhhhh, and don't even get me started on your hair! I disappear for a bit and you completely let yourself go! Oh no ma'am!" Skylar was kidding, of course...or not. But she was using her humor and nagging to mask the intense pain she was feeling. It wasn't a sort of physical pain but more of a mental one. After all, that was where her power originates. And it had been severed. Again.
    Skylar was glad her sister was clutching her like she was because Skylar had tried sitting up on her own and it was like her body wouldn't even listen to her commands. The strawberry-blonde was just about to ask her sister to help her to feet when she heard an oddly familiar voice. It tickled at the back of her mind, jogging her memory.
    Emilia. Emilia...Hawke. Skylar blinked at the woman in surprise. She hadn't seen her old subordinate in a long time but she couldn't believe how much the girl had changed! For starters, she'd definitely gained certain assets since they'd last seen one another. Secondly though, Emilia was radiating power. On a scale of pure magical quality, she trumped Haretsa by miles. How had she gotten so strong in such a short time? Or maybe the better question was...
    How long had Skylar been gone?
    She stayed quiet while Haretsa and Emilia exchanged words but when she heard an absolutely unmistakable voice hauntingly emenated from her little sister's mouth, Skylar's eyes widened as she gasped. She met Haretsa's eyes. They weren't her's but a pair that she hadn't seen in much too long. She took a ragged breath before pulling Reiki into her arms and crushing him in a hug that she probably shouldn't even have been able to make.
    The two in one pair of younger Shikon siblings soon found themselves wrapped up in a rather sudden and surprisingly strong hug from their exhausted older sister. ”It’s… good to see you too… Sis… you can let go now… Air…” ”YOUR BODY ISN’T THE ONE THAT NEEDS AIR, JACKASS!!” Haretsa managed to gasp outward, turning herself into shadows for a brief moment in order to escape Skylar’s hug for a moment. Once she reformed, Haretsa’s left eye was the same yellow it had been when Reiki took over while the other was the jet black that was common while she was in this form. Haretsa’s left arm quickly wrapped itself around Skylar’s body to ensure that she didn’t end up falling over from the sudden shift. ”Sorry Sky, I just… wasn’t expecting that and couldn’t breathe… You probably shouldn’t be moving around like that in your condition anyway!” Haretsa worryingly scolded the strawberry blonde. ”She has a point, Sky. We should get you to a healer, if there even is one in a city like this…” Reiki murmured out of Haretsa’s mouth, knowing from Haretsa’s memory that this was a city that focused on all kinds of mechanical things as opposed to people.
         Shaking her head rapidly as she approached with Lillith still on her shoulder, Emilia finally decided to speak up. ”I may have several questions, but those can all wait for later. Right now, we do need to get the Councilwom- er, I mean, Skylar out of this freaking cold. It may not be much, but I do know some healing magic; enough to at least get Skylar to a state where she can stand without being in pain. I’m pretty sure there was a coffee shop I passed on my way over here, I’d imagine that’d be as good of an idea as any.” Emilia explained, keeping her eyes on Skylar the entire time. It was quite difficult for the Knight to comprehend, but this woman was undoubtedly the Councilwoman that she had served under several years ago. What was the most difficult for her to comprehend was that she was essentially Skylar’s sister now due to both of their relationships to Haretsa. This was going to take quite some getting used to, but Emilia knew she would adapt to it rather quickly.
         With an agreeing nod, Haretsa’s hair, skin, and eyes returned to their normal colors as she helped Skylar slowly to her feet. The young mage then brought her free hand up to her ear before she began to talk once more. ”I hope you can get comfy, Ragna. We’re gonna be here a bit longer than expected.” ”Oh, ok! I hope it’s not too long…” Ranga’s voice responded straight into the communication device within Haretsa’s ear. ”Well, I gotta get Lillith ice cream, but I promise I’ll get you some really good oil while I’m here, ok?” ”ULTRA PREMIUM SYNTHETIC!?” ”Only the best for you, Ragna.” Haretsa laughed, hearing Ragna begin to stomp around in circles of joy off in the distance. With a smile, Haretsa then turned towards Emilia and began to follow her sister to this coffee shop she had mentioned with Skylar in tow; leaving the now scorched ghetto behind them.
           Once the four had reached the aforementioned shop, Emilia pushed open the door to be greeted by the enticing aroma of all kinds of brewing java. One look around the place and everyone could tell that this was very much the shop that practically every self respecting blue collar worker got his coffee at. Everything in here was rugged simplicity at its finest, from the chairs and tables to the various kinds of gear head decorations that adorned the wall. Needless to say, Haretsa felt right at home in an establishment such as this. ”Alright, Hare why don’t you and Lilly go get us some drinks while I start tending to Skylar?” Emilia suggested, helping Lillith down off of her shoulder and extending her arms out to aid the strawberry blonde. ”Sure thing! I’ll just get everyone hot chocolates and… stuff…” Haretsa said, her eyes beginning to sparkle with childlike wonder and her mouth beginning to slightly drool at the wall decorations as she handed Skylar over. ”Right… just, try not to get too distracted by everything in here, alright? ”I make no promises!” Haretsa exclaimed, leaving for the counter as soon as Emilia had Skylar. ”Lillith, please make sure your mother stays focused…” ”NO PROMISES!” Lillith retorted, following after her mother.
         With a sigh, Emilia helped the former councilwoman to a nearby booth table and helped her get as comfortable as possible before the purple haired woman got to work. Placing her right hand on Skylar’s forehead, a warm blue light radiated forth from Emilia’s palm that began to envelope Skylar’s entire body. ”There we go. I’m not the best at it, but it should at least heal a majority of the minor injuries.” Emilia began, taking a seat next to Skylar as the healing light did its thing. She then turned her head to meet Skylar's dull grey eyes with her own black orbs; a small smile adorning her features. "I'm glad to know you're safe, Councilwoman... I mean, Skylar, sorry. Old habits die hard I guess!"" Emilia laughed a bit, which drew a similar response from the former Councilwoman. "It's alright dear, I understand. Everything is quite a bit different now it seems... I'm not sure I'm quite used to it myself yet. Skylar responded, still getting used to the sudden flood of memories that had returned to her brain mere minutes ago. "I can't quite say that I am either... Hell, I still feel like some of this is all some crazy illusion because of the air outside, but I digress. There's quite a few things I'd like to discuss with you Skylar... one of them being about Haretsa. You do know what happened to her when she was taken away thirteen years ago, right?" Emilia asked, to which Skylar slowly shook her head. "I don't fully, no. When we first reunited, all she mentioned was 'those bastards' and 'the bad people.' She never went into further detail about any of it."
        Another sigh came from the purple haired woman's lips as she adjusted herself in her seat. A rueful look was plastered upon her face as she recalled all those memories that still haunted her mind even after all these years. "Well, when she was taken away by the people that... murdered your parents... she was brought to some kind of lab hidden away in some woods. Where exactly that was I'm still not certain, but it was where Haretsa and I met. She was the youngest candidate that those assholes brought in for their experiments and the toughest person they had ever found. The things they put her through broke even the hardest of grown men that they managed to capture... even I wasn't put through as much as she was. We we're injected with all kinds of things, some that turned some of the others into deformed dragon-human hybrids. For some reason, our bodies seemed to be able to withstand that side effect; Haretsa's even more so since they did more experiments to her. Haretsa had one hell of a desire to live and that combined with the hatred for what they did to her... ,your parents, must have been what kept her together all that time. Over the three years that we were there, her and I were the only ones that managed to survive being turned into Dragon Slayer's. Since we were the only ones who kept surviving the experiments, we became as close as sisters over those three years. One night, I managed to figure out the whole transforming into a shadow thing and I decided to see if I could slip out of the building undetected with it to escape while Haretsa was being experimented on. I managed to do it, so I knew I'd have to go back and get Haretsa out as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I had gone a lot farther from the facility than I realized and... well, you know how terrible I am with directions...." Emilia paused, letting out another sigh as she scratched the back of her head. "Anyway, the only reason I managed to make my way back was because the entire place lit up like a volcano thanks to a certain little eight year old thinking that they had killed me... By the time I did get back, the whole place was razed to the ground and Haretsa was no where to be seen. I didn't find her until years later by pure accident, when I was tasked with finding out what had happened to you ironically enough. I watched over her from the shadows for a few years after that until just recently, unsure on how I should confront her about still being alive.... I'm still not sure why I didn't just fly right out of the shadows and hug her on that day... but I digress." Emilia paused, looking over towards Haretsa and Lillith who were standing up at the register with a small smile. "Her and I have been through a lot together, and I guess if you were to ask her, you and I would basically be sisters as well. That girl... really means the world to me...." "THE HELL DO YOU MEAN HOT CHOCOLATE COSTS A THOUSAND JEWELS!?!?!" Haretsa shouted in pure shock, causing Emilia to simply smile and laugh.
    "Beauty is power; a smile is its sword"
    - Skylar Shikon
    As the little group made their way out of the razed ghetto, a pair of blue eyes gazed down at them from miles away. The eyes glanced over at the smoke just billowing into the air and darkened a bit. There was smog perforating this entire city, but this smoke cloud was going to send the ozone back at least a year. The eyes closed as the gigantic cloud of smoke suddenly dispersed in a powerful gust of wind.
    "Wasteful."
    ~~~

    Skylar was quiet the whole way to the coffee shop. Mostly because it was exhausting to speak. She could never remember being this tired before. How could anyone stand it? And when the door to the coffee shop finally opened, Skylar's stomach did a flip. She'd forgotten that she hadn't eaten in the past couple of days. Of course that would attribute to her weakness. While the place had it's own little...quaint charm that she was sure her little sister appreciated, Skylar was less than pleased. After all, her own villa was swankier than this. But when the smell of chocolate hit her again, she didn't really care anymore. She just wanted food.

    After Emilia helped her into a booth, Skylar sat up a bit. She couldn't help trying to retain what little dignity she had left. It was vexing that a former subordinate had to see her like this. She'd gone from one of the most powerful wizards on the Council to...this. Kidnapped, sealed off. Broken. She knew that Emilia wasn't reveling in seeing Skylar like this, which did help her ego a bit. With her sudden flood of memories, she remembered Emilia much more clearly now. She'd been one of the good ones. Skylar had tried her best to teach the girl, mold her into a respectable Knight. Afterall, most joined the Rune Knights to earn some title or power. Skylar always thought that those things didn't matter to Emilia. She was genuinely happy to see her again.

    A little smile blossomed on the woman's lips as she felt her body begin to relax at the activation of Emilia's healing magic. It seemed to just be a low level healing spell, but it intrigued Skylar nonetheless. She didn't remember Emilia having any kind of healing magic at all. Which meant that her pupil had been training in her absence. ”There we go. I’m not the best at it, but it should at least heal a majority of the minor injuries.” Skylar's smile increased a bit. "It's alright dear, I understand. Everything is quite a bit different now it seems... I'm not sure I'm quite used to it myself yet." Even as she spoke, the thoughts just kept surfacing... "I can't quite say that I am either... Hell, I still feel like some of this is all some crazy illusion because of the air outside, but I digress. There's quite a few things I'd like to discuss with you Skylar... one of them being about Haretsa. You do know what happened to her when she was taken away thirteen years ago, right?" Skylar's smile vanished. Even with the healing light surrounding her, thinking about her sister's past made the unsettling feeling come back into her stomach. She shook her head. "I don't fully, no. When we first reunited, all she mentioned was 'those bastards' and 'the bad people.' She never went into further detail about any of it." Just from the way that Emilia sighed and adjusted her seat told Skylar that the story she was about to hear was not going to be pleasant.

    ...

    As the tale ran its course Skylar showed no emotion. Her face was as frozen as her last name. It wasn't until near the end when Skylar looked over at Haretsa and Lilith did she smile for just a second. When the story was done, the strawberry-blonde reached across the table and took Emilia's hand gently. "Thank you for being there for her when I couldn't." She gave her hand a bit of a squeeze before she laid back against the booth. So the same people that had taken Skylar were the ones that took Haretsa... and did those things to her. Skylar lifted her head up a bit and pursed her lips as she tried to contain her anger. It wasn't rational right now. She had no power...

    Skylar's hand instinctively went for her sword.

    She gripped the guard with one hand and the hilt with the other. She held it up in front of her face as she slid it open slowly. Her injured reflection stared back at her in the blade's metal. "I swear by this blade, I will annihilate anyone who hurts my family ever again." Skylar looked over at Emilia. "All of my family." She was her sister too.

    When Lilith and Haretsa returned with a modest supply of cookies and drinks, Skylar let Haretsa sit before motioning for Lilith to wait. The girl looked at her with a confused face. "Did I do something wrong?" Skylar shook her head. She raised a hand and wrote some kind of rune into the air. In a little burst of light, a credit card appeared out of thin air. Skylar handed the child the card. "I want you to go back up there and buy every piece of chocolate and every cookie that they have." Lilith's eyes glittered but she was still rational. "B-But that's super expensive!!", she yelped. Skylar smiled warmly at her new niece. "While your mother is very good at fighting, your aunt is even better at making money. Now go clear them out!" Lilith disappeared and reappeared on top of the counter with happiness pretty much leaking from her face.

    Skylar smiled before looking at Haretsa and Emilia's shocked face which caused her to blush a bit. "W-What?! I just didn't want her to hear our heavy discussion that's all!" It was that moment that Skylar's stomach began to rumble with enough force to shake the table. Her blush increased. "C-Call Reiki, Haretsa! I...w-want to know what happened to him as well!", she said, desperate to change the subject.

    Post by Emilia Hawke on 30th January 2016, 7:21 pm

    Once Emilia had finished her explanation on what had happened to her and Haretsa over ten years ago, the young Rune Knight commander felt Skylar grasp her hand. Turning her noire orbs towards the former Councilwoman, Emilia felt Skylar’s grip tighten as she thanked the girl for being there for Haretsa during those times. Emilia then watched without a word as Skylar leaned back into her seat, withdrawing the sword sheathed about her waist and listening to the promise that Skylar made whilst staring at the rather worn and faded metal of the still ornate blade. She honestly couldn’t help but smile at Skylar’s comment of protecting her entire family. ”I guess I really do have a family now… Who needs parents when you have a family like this… with one dead brother possessing one of my sisters, the eldest being a former Councilwoman, and my niece being quite up there with some of Fiore’s strongest mages. ...Well, I never did ask for a normal family.” Emilia thought to herself, giving Skylar a confirming nod and smile to her statement.

      It was about this time that Haretsa and Lillith returned with the group’s drinks and some snacks; Haretsa still grumbling a bit about the price of it all as she pulled into the seat next to Skylar. Skylar then stopped Lillith as the young girl was about to sit down. Skylar then proceeded to summon a credit card practically out of thin air and asked her pink haired niece to clean the shop out of all the chocolate and cookies they had. ”S-Sky, I already promi-” was all the cream haired mage could say before her daughter seemed to teleport straight back to the counter with happiness pouring out from every pore on her face. Emilia and Haretsa both looked at Skylar with the same shocked expression as the councilwoman tried to pass the action off as not wanting Lillith to hear their conversation. It was then that the strawberry blonde’s stomach let out a loud rumble that shook the table they were all sitting at. ”I think you’re just really freaking hungry… but ALL of this places chocolate and cookies? That’s a bit overkill, don’t ya think...” Haretsa spoke, tilting her head curiously and poking her sister’s breasts. ”No wonder your pillows are so damn big, ya don’t freaking eat right so they blew up like balloons… don’t they feel heavy and get in the way when you’re fighting?” Haretsa asked innocently still poking one of Skylar’s breasts, to which Emilia poorly tried to conceal her laughter. She had forgotten just how young and naive Haretsa’s mind was when it came to matters like this. Emilia knew that Haretsa was incredibly smart, but she was not exactly very versed when it came to human anatomy.

        ”Haretsa, I should probably talk to her so I can explain what happened…” Reiki politely interrupted, taking over half of Haretsa and causing her left eye to glow a golden yellow once more. ”Oh yeah, I kinda want to know what happened to! Alright, all you Reiki.” she exclaimed, closing her right eye and re-opening it to reveal the same golden yellow as her left eye. Adjusting her body upright, Reiki pondered a moment thinking back on just how he ended up separated from his sisters those thirteen long years ago. It was during this that he felt something rather strange about the air around them. This was a rather familiar feeling and yet it felt strange all at the same time. ”Uh… does the air in here feel a bit… different to you guys, or is it just me?” he asked, prompting a rather strange look from his former subordinate. ”If by different you mean cleaner than outside, then yeah. Why would you even ask?” she asked, confused as to why Reiki would even mention such a thing. ”It's probably just my imagination playing tricks on me then… I guess being dead for two years kind of throws off your senses.” he replied, thinking to himself for a brief moment. ”It must be that… it feels too different to be her.”

        ”Anyway, let’s get to what happened years ago. I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible. I honestly don’t remember much about it… one moment everything was fine and the next I woke up to our house razed to the ground and everyone was gone. I searched around our giant ass property for what felt like hours trying to find someone, but all I found was a pissed off grizzly bear. If dad didn’t teach me his lightning magic, I probably would have died to that damn thing. Anyway, after that I gave up and just sort of wondered, ending up in a caravan that was bound for the capital city of Iceberg. I wound up in a pretty crummy orphanage that I ended up running away from; out into the frozen wasteland without a destination. That’s where I ended up meeting my bormah… er… my adoptive father, Gellidus. He basically picked up where mom and dad left off, even teaching me his magic for seven whole years before he went off to ‘visit an old friend.’ He took quite a long time and didn’t return, so I went off to look for him and ironically enough ended up slipping on some ice near the border of Stella; splitting my head wide open. I would have died if it weren’t for a certain Iron Dragon that came my way and patched my helpless ass up.” Reiki took this moment to pause as a grin became plastered across Haretsa’s face at the thought of the best friend he had ever had. ”Once Aian got me back up on my feet, I had completely forgotten the magic that Gellidus taught me, but I still remembered dad’s lightning magic. The two of us roamed for a few years doing the occasional odd job every now and then before we wound up in the… well, former now, guild of Eclipse Soul. We sure had one hell of a time in that guild. I remembered my Ice Dragon Slayer magic, met the most beautiful woman on this planet or any other, began to start up my own family and even became a Wizard Saint for a while. That’s where I met and trained Emilia for a while before a group of five dragons began to rampage across Iceberg. Since Iceberg was practically my home land, I took off to take those bastards head on and slew every last one of them before breathing my final breath in my own body… Those fuckers got what was coming to them for messing with my bormah’s kingdom… it was the best damn fight I ever had the joy of participating in!!” Reiki paused once more, Haretsa’s features beaming with pride as Reiki played that battle over again in his mind. ”After I died, the Ice Dragon lacrima I ate basically absorbed all my magic and my spirit into it. It was basically my gravestone until a group of thieves came and took it looking to make easy money. Haretsa ended up finding them and my lacrima out in the Forgotten Desert, where we learned that for some odd reason, I could actually communicate with her instead of just yelling at people with them unable to hear me… and now here I am, able to take over her body to communicate with the world once more.”

        Once Reiki’s story was concluded, he couldn’t help but notice the frustration and regret that was displayed on Emilia’s face. It was apparent that something really struck a nerve with her in that story and she couldn’t hold her feelings back. ”If only I had been there with you like I was supposed to… Then you wouldn’t have…. have…” Emilia began to choke up as her eyes began to water. ”Em, it's not your fa-” ”Yes it is! If I wasn’t such a dumbass when it came to going places, then those dragons wouldn’t have stood a chance and my mentor would still be alive right now!” she cried out with tears beginning to run down her cheeks. She really felt responsible for Reiki’s death which is why she tried so hard to find his wife; so she could fulfill the promise she made to him before they set off for that mission. Reiki was about to say something to try and calm Emilia down, but Haretsa swiftly kicked him out of the driver’s seat and wrapped her crying sister in a loving hug. ”It’s ok, Emi, he doesn’t blame you and neither do I… besides, he’s still sort of alive…! He just doesn’t have a body of his own so he’s being a freeloader in my head, that’s all.” she joked to try and calm Emilia down, pulling her sisters head down into her shoulder while she nuzzled Emilia’s purple hair. ”R-right… Sorry, I’m… usually a bit more composed than this…” Emilia laughed a small bit, slowly removing herself from Haretsa’s eyes and drying her tears with the sleeve of her trenchcoat. ”It’s ok… So, is there anything else you wanted to talk about Sk- THEY’RE STILL BRINGING OUT CHOCOLATES?!” Haretsa exclaimed in shock as she was turning back towards Skylar; her eyes locked on the register. There was a giant mound of cookies and chocolates that was being piled up on the counter while staff members continued to bring more and more out; Lillith all the while staring at the forming mountain with joy as a river of drool dripped forth from her mouth. "SHE IS NOT EATING ALL OF THAT AND NEITHER ARE YOU!! WE NEED TO GET SOME MEAT ON YOUR BONES AND DEFLATE YOUR PILLOWS, NO MORE OF THIS JUNK FOOD DIET!!" Haretsa proclaimed to Skylar, prompting Emilia to nearly burst out laughing once more.
