Ni-Ju stood on on a small sandbank that overlooked a long stretch of beach that was generally reserved for duels and practical tests for those who were apart of Hargeon Town's home guild of Lamia Scale. Staring out into the waves as he waited for his guild master's arrival, Ni-ju couldn't help but notice how bleak the weather was in contrast to what it had been for his first testing. The sky was a dark and overcast grey that didn't bode well at all for anyone unlucky enough to be caught outside in just a few short hours and the wind had begun to pick up enough that small eddies of sand had formed over the length of the beach, giving it the appearance of a miniature version of the great sandstorms of the desert, albeit with far more water then the deserts of Fiore would probably ever see in his lifetime. Carefully rolling the legs of his trousers up so as to avoid getting them soaked, Ni-Ju stepped through the gathering puddles onto the beach proper and began to remove all of his extra accouterments so as to be ready when Xavier finally did show. Feeling much lighter without all the extra weight of his weapons and his pack, Ni-Ju slowly began to stretch as there seemed to be nothing better left to do while he waited.

It had been quite some time since the two of these kids had done something together. An odd thing to surmass considering their relationship, and them being on team for such a long time as well. Throughout all that time Xavier and Ni-Ju had some wonderful exploits, and dastardly adventures, but none of it was ever quite as important as those to come, and with the recent change of events, it's likely that they may never get to share those same times again, but carry them in hearts. A hard though Xavier swallowed on his extended walk here, as he had come to this place an hour too early, left to grab a drink, was subsequently mugged, left a guy twitching in the street, rescued a cat from a tree, and returned.

The young guildmaster stepped out onto the sands, a little disappointed he couldn't enjoy the the feel of it on his feet as he approached. He straightened out his clothing, stood beside Ni-Ju and stared out into the distance too as the blue haired kid stretched in the freedom of the open air. "Hello Blue. It's been a long time, too long. My time without you was rather drole." Xavier didn't seem like his old self either. Usually he'd have flown himself in from the sky crashing down in a static explosion that blinded innocent people with sand, but here he was proper and kind. Well, the kind part wasn't new atleast. "Today's the day Ni-Ju, there shouldn't be any mishaps here. I've set up a task for you that will be more than certainly challenging. Don't worry though, I know you're ready for it." He turned to him with that kind smile, the golden locks of his hair catching the sunlight.
