    Hargeon Town.

A simple, peaceful, yet bustling port complete with it's own train station, as well as the hall of the magical guild Lamia Scale. One of this guild's members was notorious for sleeping about the town, on rooftops, inside of carriages; he was even caught sleeping overnight under a bank teller's desk. However, despite all efforts to the contrary, that certain gray-haired mage was quite wide awake. Currently, Dmitry Kazakov of Lamia Scale was trying his damnedest to fall asleep in the tree he was currently occupying. Anyone who knew the summoner would be shocked to find him squirming and fidgeting in his 'bed'. While most people wouldn't be sleeping in the middle of the day like this, it was actually one of the many times a day when Dmitry found himself in need of a nap.

'Having some trouble, boy?' Dmitry heard the disembodied voice of Hati, the Great Wolf Spirit, mocking him in his hour of displeasure.

'Oh shut the hell up, old man!' The young mage channeled his frustration through the psychic bond the two shared.

In truth, there was a specific reason for this lack of sleep and it certainly wasn't his choice of bedding. In the morning of that day, he and a guildmate helped a dear friend of his, rare as those were for him. Her name was Mao Nakiri and she was a member of Sabertooth, here in Hargeon on a job. Upon discovering that her 'condition' had worsened, he promised to help her, despite the fact that he had never promised anyone anything in his entire life. However, she asked him something after he revealed his own secret that made him question himself. The thought had bothered him since and was now preventing his sleep, which of course only made his mood worse.

No longer seeing a blissful collection of z's in his near future, the Dmitry slid off the branch he was on before catching it with his right hand to slow his decent, finally letting go to drop down to the ground. He then began walking through the streets of his guild's home town, grouchy and upset at his confusion and subsequent lack of sleep.

Woe is any who should engage in dialogue with this walking storm cloud...

Lexa was walking through Hargeon town after a very long, arduous trip from Ca-Elum. She was weary from having played chase the bastard child, and then endulging some old guy in sitting on rocks eating funky smelling stuff to unlock her 8 chakras. She couldn't help but question where the extra chakra came from, since there was only 7 of them to the best of her understanding. Just as she was lost in thought, Lexa felt her head slam into something big and warm. Standing there with her face buried in something, Lexa was ready to run the person through until she took a step back and saw it was some guy wearing a large Trench Coat. Lexa took a few seconds to breath, and gave a final exhale as she made eye contact with the man. "I'm so sorry Nii-san. I was spaced out and forgot to watch where I'm going. Name's Lexa!" she said with a childish, high pitched voice while giving a big smile. Taranis wasn't with her this time to remind Lexa exactly who the man before her was. That said, she'd never be able to remember that the grey haired man was Dmitry of Lamia scale, the one who helped her bring that brat into Black Rose's brig.

Something between a groan and a growl with some kind of question mark at the end crawled out of the back of Dmitry's throat as someone small slammed into him, gaining said unfortunate soul his attention.

"Get the Hell out of my way, spaz!" He snapped at the female mage. "I don't got the patience to play your bullshit games today! If you couldn't figure how obvious it is, I'm real pissed off right about now, got it?"

With that, the angry summoner stormed off and continued his task of making Hargeon a dangerous place to be.

'That was a bit harsh, boy.' Hati said to his protege, somewhat surprised himself at the level of that outburst.

'Didn't I tell you to shut the hell up, old man?' Dmitry responded, even his inner voice full of spite. 'What the Hell was she even bothering me for anyway? Don't I have enough crap bothering me right now? And why the Hell am I so damn angry? Why is this bothering me so much? Damnit all!' As he continued through the streets, some poor fool managed to bump his shoulders against Dmitry's and then get angry about, grabbing the mage by said shoulder and complaining to him. The gray haired insomniac swatted the man's hand away, grabbed him by the collar, and slammed his forehead head into the foolish pedestrian's nose hard enough to send him stumbling backwards before falling onto the hard ground. Dmitry simply kept moving after that.

Eventually he reached the pier and stopped shy of falling into the water, which would have likely just made him angrier. The medium looked up at the sky and wondered what it was that was making him act like this, confusion painting his features.

"Gee, you're just the happiest person." Xavier was out looking over the sea, leaning against a wall behind him, skipping rocks out into the blue. The ripples in the water were somewhat intoxicating. "It's Dmitry, isn't it?" He only offered a smirk, and even that faded fairly quick as he relaxed there. it was fairly obvious that he'd been there a fair amount of time, and that perhaps this meet was or was not coincidence.

He bent over to pick up another rock at his feet, and cast it out once again, the splashes of the pumice hitting the surface water broke the silence at the very least. "What's on your mind kid?" The boy much younger than him said almost jokingly.

Dmitry didn't bother to look at his guildmaster and instead sat down on the waters edge, staring out into the sea. For once, he understood the tumultuous nature of the ocean's waters. Up until now, he had always kept calm in almost every situation he had come across, never losing his cool and dealing with problems with a level head. Even when he became enraged, it only made him more focused on the task of resolving that which made him angry in the first place. Now, he had no idea what the Hell he was doing.

"To be honest, I wish I knew..." Dmitry said to the blonde skipping rocks across the water. He couldn't tell him everything. After all, they weren't his secrets to tell. And besides, there were somethings he simply didn't want to admit.

"I got a friend and...she's got this problem. I...have some experience with it, so I know it's...well...bad." The summoner had a hard time describing this without going into to much detail, not used to keeping secrets. "The weird thing is...it bothers me. More than it should, way more. I don't...get this...whatever it is. Why am I feeling so...well, shitty? I feel like someone keeps knocking the wind out of me every five steps I take. I...I don't...I don't..." He trailed off, unsure of what he was even saying as he stared at his reflection in the water.

"What the Hell's wrong with me?"

Lexa's magic circuits turned black as the man gave her crap, as opposed to apologizing for not watching where he was going. Naturally, she would say sorry as well, but the taller guy had already lost his shit by the time she'd opened her mouth to say it. He stormed off, leaving Lexa with her circuits sparking with dark energy, signaling she was ready to lay waste to a good potion of Hargeon. She burst into light, deciding to follow him to a place that wasn't as populated before confronting the man, after all she didn't wanna pull other people into her beat down session.

Lexa followed the mage all the way to the docks, where another mage was seated, skipping stones and was kind enough to ask the reason as to the bigger mage's malfunction. Lexa felt even more pissed than usual after hearing his concern. "So that's it?" she said her voice sounding more adult than usual, still maintaining her light form making her little more than a disembodied voice. "So your girlfriend's having a problem, and you're being an ass over it!?" Lexa said in an unusually serious voice, her tone akin to that of a true adult as opposed to her normally high-pitched variant. It was at that moment a set of light particles spun around, collecting together and materializing into Lexa's form. "That's no reason to be an prick! Get your shit together! Perk the fuck up! Get you're useless ass out in the field, and go help your girlfriend in any-fucking-way you can!" Lexa shouted impatiently as she looked at Dmitry with an extremely focused, but angry stare. "AND DON'T FUCKING CALL ME SPAZ... uh.... wait, who are you again?" she ordered, but transitioned into confusion at the realization that she'd forgotten Dmitry almost entirely.

Dmitry began to fume again, not even noticing that Lexa had even asked him who he was.

"Dammit, that's not the problem!" He shouted, losing his temper over what should have been a simple matter. "I don't...all this...I...this...it doesn't make any sense! Nothin's ever gotten me this stressed out before. I don't get this shit! This weird feeling!" The medium panted heavily, the rant taking more out of him than it should have. "Screw this. I don't feel like doin' this anymore..." With that, Dmitry turned and began walking through the streets of Hargeon once again, just as confused as he was before, only now he felt worn down for some reason. He wasn't actually going anywhere in particular, he was simply going. Eventually he stumbled into an alleyway, found himself a wall to lean up against, and slid down to the ground, eyes pointed at the sky that had now been painted by the dusk.

Ni-Ju stepped off a weathered gangplank onto the docks of Hargeon Town and paused for a moment to take in the the sights and sounds of his home. It had been quite a while since he had left Hargeon to revisit the land of his birth, Peregrande, and he had come back a much changed person, at least on the inside if not the surface. "Damn, I am glad to be home!" The young man stated in a matter of fact tone that left no room for doubt that he really meant it.

Pulling his trademark pack up higher onto his shoulder, Ni-Ju decided it would be a nice idea to take a casual stroll around town and see what had all changed since he had left before going to the guild hall and visiting all of his old friends. Before he could take more then a few steps away from the docks he spotted a somewhat familar figure in a dark trench coat trudging away from the quays in what could only be referred to as a sulk. To be a hundred percent honest, he knew that he wasnt exactly a font of happiness or wisdom on his best day but something about the whole situation just left a bad taste in his mouth. Without any real need or solid motivation to do so, Ni-Ju decided that following the young man would probably be a good idea. Would be bad karma to see someone in need and do nothing on his first day back in town after all.

Working his way carefully through the crowded docks that were the norm at pretty much any time of day in Hargeon, Ni-Ju took to following after Dmitry. When his quarry ducked into an alleyway after a short trek through the streets, Ni-Ju knew that the time to intercede had finally presented itself and he stepped in to the alley to do so. Before he had even passed the first set of crumbling bricks that marked the beginning of the alley, he quickly came to recognize the person he had been following as a fellow Lamia Scale mage that he had seen a number of times throughout his stint as a guild member. Due in large part to his enhanced perception and the sheer obviousness of it, Ni-Ju could tell that Dmitry was in no mood for talking and would probably rebuff any attempts that he would make toward trying to solve the situation with words but he would take a shot at it anyway before resorting to his other less kind ideas. Being careful as to position himself so that his body blocked any direct means of exiting the alley, Ni-Ju called out to the young man. "Long time no see! How have you been?".

Dmitry looked up at his guildmate, lacking the energy to follow up with a snarky remark.

"Not my best, shorty. Not my best." He said, stating it as straight as he could. It was then that he noticed where exactly Ni-Ju was standing, causing him to chuckle despite his mood. "That wouldn't stop me even if I wanted to leave. Don't worry about it, I don't feel like goin' no where..." He looked back to the red sky, pondering why he had acted the way he did earlier.

'Is it such a bad thing?' Hati asked. 'To feel for one you care about? Is that not natural?'

'That's just it, old man.' Dmitry responded. 'I've never felt for anybody like this.' The mage looked once more to his fellow Lamian, deciding to ask him something after all.

"Hey, shorty...what do you think?" He asked, performing the rare feat of seeking advice from another human being. "What do you do...when you feel somethin' you just don't get? How do you...figure it all out?" The question was, of course, cryptic like everything else out of the mediums mouth at the moment. It was to be expected at this point, not that Ni-Ju new any of that.
