It was early in the morning at the Laughing Coffin guild. The sun is just now peeking out from the horizon with a dark orange color to it. The faint sound of birds chirping could be heard from the room of one of the guild's mages, Shadow D as he lied there in his bed sleeping with one of his right leg and arm dangling from the edge of the bed. The sound of the birds has caused the rowdy mage to open his eyes halfway. He slowly blinked his eyes once before sitting up. Shadow yawned and slowly stretched his arms before wiping the crust from his eyes and the drool from the left side of his cheek which was reaching down to his chin. His normal while and smooth hair looked rather spiky due to having bedhead which he quickly fixed by licking the palm of one of his hands and quickly running that hand across his hair until it was its normal self of course missing one strand in the center, but just shrugged it off and got out of bed. He was wearing nothing but a black tank top and black sweatpants since that is his usual sleeping attire. "Well...looks like its time to start the day again." said the young mage in a rather drowsy voice as he stretched one more time before heading downstairs.

As Shadow walks down to the guild hall, he takes a look around noticing that he is by himself again. Shadow simply shrugged it off and walked towards the fridge since he has gotten use to not seeing the other members much. Some might be off training, doing a job, or just haven't woken up yet since it is still pretty early. Shadow takes out a leftover rice ball from the fridge and begins munching on it despite it not being heated up which he didn't care because hey, food is food. Shadow slowly walked around the hall while taking bites out of the rice ball as he thought to himself about what he should do today. Should he train like he usually does every morning, go out on a stroll through Magnolia, or play a prank on one of his guild mates? Mainly Skyllon. Just before he could take another bite out of his food a piece of paper on the wall catches the blue eyed mages attention. It was the only piece of paper on the wall so it was really suspicious. Shadow finishes his rice ball before he walked over to the paper. It was a job request from the Magic Council?! Shadow nearly choked on his food as he read who the paper was from and if that wasn't surprising enough, the request specifically states that this job is for "Evelyn Godfray of Infinity Hydra and Shadow D. Nara of Laughing Coffin".

Shadow doesn't know much about Infinity Hydra other then that it's a legal guild so he can understand why the council would send them a job request, but what do they want with an independent guild? Could this be a trap? Shadow drops the paper and quickly runs back up to his room so he could change his clothes to his everyday attire. Shadow then ran back downstairs and scooped up the paper to take another look. He read that he and this Godfray person were to report the Magic Council in Era a.s.a.p. Shadow then stuffed the paper into his coat pocket without reading any of the details and rushed out of the guild. "What the hell does the council want with me and who is this Evelyn? Heh, this may actually be interesting." The over excited mage said to himself as he continued to run Not knowing what adventures will await him.

    AND THE STARS,
    THEY'LL GUIDE ME HOME.
Standing in the centre of the main hall, peering up at the grand structure of the Magic Council Headquarters, the god slayer found herself in a mixture of discontent, and turmoil. Many individuals were engrossed in their work, the sound of voices, lacrima calls, and various footfalls, reflected off into this large space. So far, she had gone unseen the moment she made way into this castle-like building. Not a single person had approached her. Hadn't the Council summoned her here? She was tempted to just leave, having no such patience for the watchers of this country, if all they were going to do was misuse her time. Kurama was with her as-well. Refusing to be left alone at the guild, but seemingly regretting the decision to come. The overwhelming scent of humans seemed to leave a foul taste in his mouth, as peered over at some inanimate object in the area. It peaked her interest to know why he had not left yet. Perhaps she was so important to the little demon, that he declined to leave her side? Natsu thought that such a foul-mouthed creature, could never feel such emotions.

Lastly, in which seemed like a thousand decades, a small young woman approached the two. Her hair was tied back perfectly into a bun, and she wore large classes, domed in lavished office wear. She seemed to be slightly nervous, but, held herself together as she opened her mouth to speak. "Ms. Godfray, I'm sorry for the delay. It's been quite busy this morning.. And unfortunately the council cannot speak with you today, but I will act as a substitute for them to explain whats going on." bowing her head slightly, Natsu could not lie to herself that she was even more irritated over the fact, that they had called her all the way over here; and then couldn't even speak with her. A sigh brushed past her lips, lashes fluttering downward as she closed her eyes, "I could've done something far more relevant than this," vocal cords tinged with vexation, she looked back up at the young woman, "Anyway, please go on." with a bit of hesitation, and a jolt of regard, four-eyes nodded her head quickly before continuing. She reached into the pocket of her blazer, and tugged out a wrinkled piece of paper; handing it towards Natsu as she took it carefully into her hands.

"This is a very dangerous mission, so the council has asked another mage to accompany you.. I'm sure he should be here any minute, as he was asked to come here as-well." offering a nervous smile, she read over the description on the job sheet, emotionless eyes peering towards the worker once again, "..They've asked who to accompany me?" much rather yearning to do this mission alone, the thought of having some stranger come along with her, made the vermillion haired girl just barely uneased.

yay lets get this job started! your post was brilliant no worries!

The young mage has finally made it to the front of the building where the council resides. Shadow took in a deep breathe as he gazed upon the building. Shadow then turned around and took a look at the city surrounding the HQ. "Hmm, I could've sworn I have been here before." the silver haired mage said as he placed his right hand on his chin while squinting his eyes. Shadow then shook his head as he heard the sound of footsteps coming from behind him. A woman wearing an office uniform. "Excuse me, Mr. Nara?" the woman said with a bit of a stutter as she was visibly nervous since to her, independent guilds were no different than dark guilds.

As Shadow turned toward the frightened secretary, what caught his eyes first was the woman's abnormally sized glasses. The glasses were enough to distract Shadow from the fact that he is talking with a woman, which would've resulted in one of his awkward moments if he realized. "Erm How do you know my name?" Shadow questioned her as he tilted his head, chuckling a little from the glasses. "M-my records indicate that you have been here before on a previous. Catching an escaped convict I believe." she said as she searched through the papers she was holding. "The hell are you talking about?" asked the confused God Slayer even though what she is saying is true. Shadow simply just shrugged it off before asking, "So anyway, where is the council and this Godfray person that I am suppose to be teaming up with?" The woman bowed her head slightly before answering. "Oh yes right. The council isn't available right now. I will be acting as their substitute. If you would please follow me, I will be introducing you to your partner for this job." the stand in for the council said as she gestured her hand towards the door.

Shadow had a slightly disappointed look on his face as he was looking forward to meeting the council members, but at least this means he isn't being arrested for anything he may...or may not have done. He followed the woman into the building. It sure was busy with a lot of people running back and forth carrying paperwork while others answered lacrima calls. The stand in then walked towards a red haired woman with blue eyes who seemed rather disappointed. "W-wait. Is she my partner?" Shadow asked before he gulped and started to grind his teeth. The reckless mage was never good at talking to women he hasn't gotten to known due to his history of being raised in the wild with wolves. He softly sighed before he started to take light steps towards them not knowing what she or himself would do next.

    AND THE STARS,
    THEY'LL GUIDE ME HOME.
As the worker floundered off to go and find her partner, the fox below her feet let out a scoff; his maw tilted in the other direction, "Don't they know I'm worthy enough to accompany you on this job!?" with a fretting tone, he said this confidently to her, glaring crimson eyes veering into her direction as she looked blankly upon his "regal" self. "The only form of help you would be, is to distract the enemy," with a pause, the clashing of eye-contact splintered; attention to the sight looking elsewhere, "Other than that, I don't think a powerless demon like you would even last. Regardless of the enemy being human. They're far more intelligent than you know, fox." a single eye twitched to her remark, and just as he was about to counter this coarse set of words, the sound of footsteps arrested all attention the two had. Since the area around them seemed to settle down just the slightest, various noises were no longer parrelled into their direction. Aside from that, being one of the many god slayers around in this world, with a nose that could level with a dragon, familiarity in the woman coming back tingled at the bridge of her senses. Just by her side, was a young man with silver hair. It's captivating shade glimmered slightly within the light of this building; like stardust. Although, once his attention had fell upon her, a seemingly fearful expression jolted onto his face. Stricken with apprehension, Natsu wondered if the council had managed to set her up with another crazy once again. Or at least, somebody she hoped wouldn't prove useless.

"Ms. Godfray, this is Shadow Nara," with a pause, she gestured to the vermillion haired girl, "Mr. Nara, this is Evelyn Godfray. You two will be working together to complete this mission, I wish you both luck!" giving them both a brief bow, she suddenly left just as soon as she had appeared. Lashes fluttered over, watching her stumble off, as if fearful of the two for some unknown reason. A sigh left her lips as she faced her new partner, one hand inclined against her hip, the other left by her side, "Its a pleasure to meet you, Shadow. Quite unfortunate that the council could not meet with us, after requesting us to come all the way here," irritation tinged slightly within her vocal cords, but she shrugged it off for the meantime and continued to speak, "This is Kurama by the way," pointing towards the fox down below, the little demon growled slightly to the stranger, obviously not impressed; like usual. "I look forward to working with you.. lets get a move on, shall we?" with the motioning of feet, she loitered by him, assuming that he'd follow.

feel free to time-skip to the ancient ruins if you like! or we can also write out them traveling there together, as it might be easier with the number of posts and all. cough but tis up to you my friend! btw hope this post was alright.

As Shadow and the woman who was filling in for the Council, Shadow took one quick look at the pink haired woman who was to be his partner. Her hair was very captivating. It almost brought back memories of the cherry blossom trees back at his former home when he was a kid. How he and his brother would jump in the pile of cherry blossoms when their father had just raked them up. But what was a tone of admiration soon changed to one of awkwardness once he looked into the woman's light blue eyes. One look into her eyes caused the God Slayer to fluster up a little and turn his head to the side a he gritted his teeth. It is funny how this mage, who likes fighting until he drops, and causing a little bit of mischief cannot keep up a decent appearance or conversation with women he finds attractive which is almost quite adorable actually.

As the office worker introduced Evelyn to Shadow, the young mage simply did a quick and timid wave towards her without making eye contact. Shadow then watched as the secretary walked off in quite a hurry which caused Shadow to raise an eyebrow to her. "Y-yeah, nice to meet you too erm Eve.." before Shadow could finish his sentence, he coughed a little due to the awkwardness of the atmosphere to him. The vermillion haired girl then gestured to her little demon fox, Kurama who then growled at the mage causing him to growl a little in return barring his fangs a little before looking back to the female God Slayer hoping that she didn't witness that. "Uh...Yeah, a pleasure to work with I...I mean me!...no you! It is a pleasure to work with you!" he said rather loudly while jumbling up his words a little since he still hasn't gotten use to her yet. He then gulps before following behind her while he eyes her body, his eyes slowly gazing down towards her rear as he began to fluster again."

Post by Princess Natsu 30th October 2015, 9:00 pm

    AND THE STARS,
    THEY'LL GUIDE ME HOME.
Exiting Headquarters; the frigid current of wind greeted her from outside, jolting lengthed locks from the placing after ear. A singular hand, gloved, yet fingerless, elevated up; lodging misplaced strands back into order. Royal blue peered up towards the countless expanse of sky, painted by white creamy clouds; a temptation to sleep upon them no more than a useless dream. She had to admit that Era was indeed a very beautiful place. It held a sort of security towards its people, a semblance of tranquility. Despite the Council having its depraved ways utterly hidden, they were a group of people that only had the intention of protecting their country. No matter what the costs. As the three made their way down the protracted steps, leading back to the city that ringed around Headquarters; not a word liberated from her lips. Like usual, she was silent, her voice often forgotten, yet at the same time, vividly remembered. A rhythm of vocal cords that welded fragility and charm, almost as if the sound of her voice was; legendary.

Kurama glimpsed back at the male numerous times, catching sight of Shadow's immoral acts of "rear-staring". One crimson hue tightened in contempt to the human he barely knew; a reason unknown urging him to snap out, but instead, his ego kept him silent. It galled his good mood even more that Natsu seemed to be oblivious to affection or harassment unless it slapped her right in the face. The fox let out a sigh as they retreated from the stairs, coming to what appeared to be a port for carriages and travellers. Captivating orbs roamed over the area, hoping to find somebody that would be available in at least transporting them half-way there. After all, trekking there with nothing but their own two feet would take much longer than necessary. Despite having the capability to heal incredibly fast, she could not regenerate her energy; therefore tiring as quickly as any regular human-being.

Just as she was considering somebody to approach, an old-man stepped out in-front of her. With naturally closed eyes, and a neighbourly smile, he briefly nodded his head towards them all in a sign of respect. "I believe you are the two the Council requested? Please allow me to escort you both there, at least, halfway." his voice quivered slightly, the sense of benevolence oscillating the urge to smile in return. And, almost barely she did. But, it was so faint, and fleeting, that nobody aside from the old-man lay witness to something to rare. "Thank you, Sir, that would be lovely," gloating over her shoulder to look at Shadow, she continued to speak, "I trust you have everything with you already.. Or is there a few things you'd like to gather before heading out? adjusting the sleeping bag along her back, Natsu awaited his reply.

sorry for the wait! lets continue dis! shadow is hilarious already..

As they existed the headquarters, a small gust of wind could be felt as the two mages made it down the steps. The breeze gently blew around Shadow's hair making it fly up a little. Shadow watched as Kurama turned his head around towards him with a look of contempt. Shadow simply looks back at him with a rather confused look to his face, as if he doesn't know what he had just done. Shadow starts to get the feeling that the demon fox doesn't like him all too well, but oh well. Shadow simply shrugged it off and began to look at the sky. It's light blue color looked very calm and peaceful. The clouds in the sky, though very few, was a little promising to the God Slayer. To Shadow, clouds equal rain, and rain equals lightning which Shadow has a very big fondness over. He smiled softly at the sky while he rested his arms on the back of his head as they continued to walk.

Shadow then turned back to Evelyn. What could her story be like? How did she become a mage for Infinity Hydra? What is her magic? That, and so much more was going through the mage's head as he stared rather blankly at the back of his partner's head. It was just something about her, and her magical energy that gives off a powerful, but calm vibe. He could even say that it feels...familiar. Shadow shook his head as he snapped out of his little trance. He continued to look at the other mage but with his right hand on his chin as he tried to figure out what to say. The silence was killing him. Even if she is a girl, Shadow must work up the courage to say something. Perhaps, get to know his partner before they head off to their job. Just before he could say anything, an older looking gentleman walked up to them. He had an innocent look on his face. He acknowledged them and offered to get them halfway to their destination. Shadow wouldn't have mind walking, but getting a ride surely could be fun since Shadow has never been offered a free ride before...or free anything for that matter.

He then watched as Evelyn turned her head over to ask the Laughing Coffin mage if he has all that he needs. "U-uh..actually, no. I may have sort of rushed here without taking anything." Shadow said as he shyly chuckled while rubbing the back of his head. "I don't need anything though. It wouldn't be the first time I lived off the land." Shadow said as in a confident tone. He still couldn't make eye contact with her, but he starting to warm up to her. He then peeked over to the old man. "What exactly are we going to be riding on?" Shadow said, as he crossed his arms, tilting his head a little.
