Seikatsu's Secondary Magic Training [Private]

Kateri spent hours in the woods, looking around but couldn't find a single foot print. She'd noticed one of the trees had a bit of bark removed. It was a small, linear cut that was almost un-noticeable. She saw one end was a bit bigger, so she headed in the direction of the smaller end of the cut.  There was a foot sized indentation in the snow that could have also been something caused by a gust of wind. Kateri went with her gun and followed it, continuing down a steep slope she fell over and turned into a snowball. Kateri hit a tree, and her snowball turned into a white cloud. Staring at the tree top, she noticed a very small shred of Seikatsu's cloak blowing in the wind. She climbed the tree, and recovered the piece of cloak, and looked around for another clue.
Looking down, she saw a compass rose in the ground. It was so shallow that from the floor she'd never notice it, but from the air she could see its general form. The end pointing north had writing that said 'where am I?' which Kateri realized he was telling her to go south. But she knew Seikatsu too well, and actually would run neither north nor south. He preferred the shadows, and would never walk into the sun, so he would go west which is the exact direction she came from. Kateri headed west in search of another clue.
On a tree there was writing 'twigs don't break' and below it was some broken twigs. She followed the trail of broken twigs and scuffed bark until she arrived back at the base. This time, the massive snow bubble was gone, but she still couldn't see Seikatsu. She entered and searched everywhere, the hut, behind the hut, the outside of the wall, and found nothing.

Seikatsu erupted from the ground behind Kateri and slashed with his Thorn of Betrayal. Kateri jumped back, surprised that Seikatsu thought to use such a tactic.
"Never assume your opponents are in conventional locations."
Seikatsu said as he came fore Kateri, remembering the bandits from the forgotten desert.
Kateri fired an Ice Spike at Seikatsu, and he smashed it with his fists.
"Don't hastily fire spells"
Saikatsu said and swung at Kateri.
She shot a stream of ice shards at Seikatsu knocking him back. Seikatsu took off his cloak and charged.
Kateri understood now, he was preparing her for an ambush. She took her stance and summoned a whirlwind of snow.
Questioning how hide and seek turned into a battle, Altsoba stayed quiet and let the kids play while she comes up with a way to understand humans.
Seikatsu applied the ice spikes to his sword, and charged at Kateri. Instead of just using his sword for attacking, he used blasts of super chilled wind, and his own ice spikes to keep his daughter on edge. The two were bruised and battered when they finished fighting. Kateri wanted to keep going, but Seikatsu could tell she was at her limits.
Seikatsu cooked fish for dinner, and left his daughter and wyvern in the hut so he could train more. He was trying to work out a way to use his ice magic to undo certain afflictions. He knew that if you applied ice to a burn it would heal faster. If someone is bleeding the blood needs to coagulate to make it stop. Paralysis is caused when a nerve, or a set of nerves are unable to send or receive electrical signals. Seikatsu stuck his hand in the cooking fire to cause a burn, and began chilling it slowly. He wanted to know just how cold does he have to make the burn to stop it.

After several attempts, Seikatsu found that the temperature of a human's flesh is somewhere in the 80's. So to undo a burn, Seikatsu would have to simply bring the temperature from however hundred degrees it is, down to around 80 or in the low 90's. He was able to tell this because when the pain in his arm was gone, the muscles for the arm relaxed. The same thing applied to his legs, and chest.
Next up was learning to clot blood. He couldn't force the blood to clot, but Seikatsu figured he could make a plug out of ice, and use it to fill the surface of the wound. He had to make it cold enough to numb the pain without freezing the skin, but solid enough so the blood didn't fire through. Seikatsu took his Thorn of Betrayal and ran his hand along the blade of the sword end cutting his hand. He began layering the ice on, to find out just how many layers was needed to stop the bleeding.
Hours passed, and Seikatsu was still bleeding. He had only applied two layers of ice and the wound's bleeding had stopped for a second before melting the ice. He decided to freeze the blood on all ends of the veins feeding the wound. After doing so, the blood stopped and with the flow cut off, the blood had enough time to dry. Seikatsu's hand turned blue for a few minutes since circulation was cut off by the ice, but the ice was melted and circulation resumed. His hands returned to normal color, and the bleeding didn't continue. Unable to find a way to actually heal the cut, Seikatsu abandoned the venture.
From what Seikatsu knew of paralysis, he figured by freezing the effected nerves they would stop sending and receiving signals all together. As a theory, unfreezing the nerves would reset their functions and allow them to send and receive signals as they used to.

"Kateri!" Seikatsu called out to his daughter.
"Yes sir?" She replied.
"We're almost done here, but first I wan't to test you."
"Huh?"
"You're going to do everything in your power to defeat me."
"But-"
"Defeat doesn't mean kill."
"I don't want to fight you!"
"I don't care."
Seikatsu began drawing his Thorn of Betrayal.
"Also, I'll come after you at full force."
Kateri panicked a little, since she knew the whole time Seikatsu was holding back... a lot.
Seikatsu flew at Keteri with the force of a hurricane compared to the times before. Kateri quickly used an ice spike to block, and made her sword. Seikatsu reinforced his sword, and applied the shards of ice between the weaves, swinging rapidly at Kateri who was helpless to block.
An unexpected ice shard came from the ground, and Seikatsu almost has his face taken off. He smiled and smashed through it.
"What did I tall you about hastily casting?"
He used the back of his heel to hit Kateri, and she blocked with one of her arms, remembering that he always followed that with a strike from his sword and blocked as it surely came.
"Good! But don't let down your guard!"
Seikatsu instructed as he landed an unexpected palm thrust to her stomach.
Seikatsu whipped up a whirlwind of ice around him and Kateri, dropping the temperature to -50 degrees. Kateri was used to the cold, but without her cloak Seikatsu's attack was more than she could take. She started to slow down a bit, but Seikatsu sped up to attack.
Seikatsu spun around, and used two sword to attack Kateri. The soul sword created a gash in her arm, but his Thorn of Betrayal was blocked. Kateri quickly froze over the cut and continued blocking as much as she could.
"Good recovery, but defense won't be enough to save you!"

Seikatsu used his Marionette's Strings to grab at Kateri's legs while the others went for her heart. Keteri formed a bubble of snow around her, freezing the strings and she used her ice sword to snap them. Seikatsu was still attached to the floor, and Kateri used it as an opportunity to attack him directly. She charged to his front and slashed, Seikatsu blocked with the strings still attached to his fingers, and all eight were cut.
Free of his own attack, Seikatsu spun around and kicked Kateri in the head. As Kateri tried to recover, Seikatsu grabbed his sword and came down on her with it, Kateri spun around and blocked with her ice sword. The ice sword cracked, and then a chip came out of it. She hastily tried to repair it, but Seikatsu slammed his sword on the same spot shattering it. He then kicked her into the air, and punched Kateri in the side launching her across the encampment.
She got up slowly, trying to keep her balance and put her hand out. A flurry of ice shards came flying at Seikatsu and he put his hands together, using his Wall of Swords to intercept Kateri's attack. Kateri, knowing she was completely underpowered in the face of Seikatsu's experience fell to her knees.
Seikatsu didn't let her crying stop him as he thundered toward her, Thorn of Betrayal in hand. Kateri noticed he wasn't letting up and used her 'Big Surprise' to block Seikatsu's attack. All ten barrels were pointed at Seikatsu, and she pulled the trigger as fast as possible firing every last round into Seikatsu's chest.
Seikatsu let his sword up, and flicked it.
"Good work."
"What?"
"No matter how strong an opponent is, there's two thing he/she/it will never be able to do without magic.
One, dodge a bullet from one foot away.
Two, Survive ten shots to the chest without armor."
"So... I beat you?"
"Yep."
Seikatsu kneeled down, and rubbed her head.
"Your mother was so strong that no one ever wanted to play with her. I was so weak that no one wanted to play with me. Your mom was weak willed as a child, and I never gave up. We were exact opposites of each other. You're as strong as your mother, and twice as smart as I am. But believe me, that strength of yours will only get you so far... Use your head, and you'll never lose."
"Y- Yes...sir."
"And enough with that sir crap. Call me dad, or Niyol. I'm not old enough for Sir!"
"Yes sir- umm dad."
"That's my girl."

Seikatsu was able to master his Imbe Ice, and Sheer cold abilities. However, his 'freeze' wasn't quite where is needed to be. Unable to master the last ability, Seikatsu decided to keep practicing with it as he traveled. He also decided that Kateri was strong enough, and old enough to be her own woman and set her off on her own.
The wyvern 'Lisa' produced an egg while the two were training that hatched as Kateri was getting ready to leave. Seikatsu had no need for a second wyvern, and let Kateri have it. The hatchling seemed to love Kateri from the moment she held it. The wyvern gave Seikatsu respect, as it viewed him as an elder.
Kateri had mastered using her .308 pistol the 'Small Package' and had a pretty good idea as to how she could use it in battle. She had a very good idea about the guilds of Fiore since she'd been sneaking in and taking jobs from their notice boards for quite some time. She decided that the first thing she'll do is join Lamia Scale, where she could learn as much about the magical world as possible.
Seikatsu knew there was some... tragic events that had transpired at Lamia Scale's guild hall and presented Kateri with a memorial stone wrapped in cloth. He gave her direct instructions not to let anyone open it until it was put in the hands of a Lamia Scale member. With that business completed, the two went their separate ways feeling comfortable as they knew Altsoba would alert them if the other were in trouble.
While on her way to Hargeon, Kateri came across one of Seikatsu's aforementioned 'dead warriors' who just so happened to have been killed recently. She searched him for a sword, and found a rather short one. The size was perfect for her method of fighting, and she went and relieved the body of its weapon, continuing her way to Hargeon.
