The salty sea breeze washed over Triatath like a torrent of water. He gripped the job poster tightly. "I guess I don't really need a reward for my first job" he muttered to himself as he walked up to the small cottage-like building with the word "charity" promptly printed above the door. As Triatath walked in, he felt a wave of kindness and friendliness wash over him. An elderly gentleman waltzed up to him and greeted him. His thick accent made it impossible to actually distinguish half of what he was saying. He seemed to be saying something about kind young gentleman or that he wishes his generation was as great as Triatath's. Triatath took out a large piece of paper which he smoothed and unfurled on a table inside of the charity building. On the paper was a crudely drawn depiction of some sort of race. Triatath explained to the man that he planned on having a race, people would bet that they could beat Triatath or that they were faster than other people. The proceeds would go to this charity.

This idea seemed alright, the only issue was "What does the charity actally donate to?" Triatath looked at the old man with a puzzled look. The old man's eyes darted around the room. "well you see, sonny, this charity is for... um... local animals at the shelter" Triatath raised his eyebrows and exclaimed "why did you hesitate?" The old man had a very depressing look on his face "Well, I don't thing it is very manly of me to care about little animals." Triatath let out a bellowing laugh as he walked out the door to set up the competition.

In the middle of the cobbled road, Triatath hammered in two large posts at the sides of a road next to the ocean and the charity office. The small flame grew larger in his pocket, Roxy leaped out to help him, hugging him and jumping around. Roxy and Triatath held up two sides of the banner and put them in place at the top of the posts. The sign read "Race Today! Start & Finish HERE!" in a crude handwriting. Roxy leaped up and added some flames around to make it seem a bit more exiting before returning to his pocket in her portable form. Triatath sits in the grass next to the road which was still damp due to the morning due. The road looped around in a circle around a very large tree, A young man and what appeared to be his girlfriend were walking around the park. The man spotted Triatath's sign and was inclined to bet that he could win in order to impress his girlfriend. Triatath stood up from the grass to greet him, he was a tall muscular man who seemed to be fairly physically fit. He did't look capable of using magic so Triatath thought he would give it a shot to get some sure-fire money quickly. "so how much do you wan't to bet that I can beat you to that tree over there?" Triatath said as he cracked his spine. Triatath knew that this was not the full length of the race which he would use later, however this would provide a good warm up. "5000 jewels says I can beat you!" the man said as he extended his hand. Triatath took his hand and shook it firmly "deal" he said calmly. They both took their starting positions.

Triatath Yells "Three! Two! One! GO!" The man thunderes forward. Triatath whispers "Jest Engine" under his breath. He rockets forward at 45 Miles per hour, beating the man within a few instants. The man makes it to the tree however by the time he gets there, Triatath is sitting under it reading a book. "5000 Jewels Please." Triatath politely asks the man. The man Throws the bills at Triatath. Triatath picks up all of the bills and puts them in a large burlap sack. "Alright!" Triatath yells into the air "minimum bet is now 5000 jewels!" There were dozens of people lined up at the starting line ready to race. One after another he beats the challengers, almost all of them he can beat without even using magic. However a peculiar looking woman walks up, clad in all red. She announces "I AM THE FASTEST IN THE WORLD!" Triatath walks over, humbled by her challenge, He does notice however that he is about halfway down on his magic power. A squad of military soldiers walks by. Around 50-60 of them. Triatath asks them to unleash their arrows into the sky. fifty arrows block out the sky. Triatath calmly uttered two words. Speed leach! he cried. The arrows stopped dead in their tracks and fell to the ground one after another. none of the arrows ever went above 10 feet so they all fell onto the cobbled stone like raindrops. "Alright!" Triatath said as he shook the woman's hand, "that's me sorted for magical power, now how much are you betting? I roughly have about 70,000 jewels already, But remember, it is all going to charity! Triatath bowed to the crowd as he announced that his winnings were going to charity. How does One million jewels sound?" The crowd stood silently. "alright, but if I lose, I may need to write a few IOU cards..." Triatath giggled to himself. Also, Lets make this round ten laps around the tree, we don't want the race to be over too quickly! They both bent down into their beginning sprint positions. Triatath knew that this race was going to be quite a challenge to him.

Words muttered under their breaths. Silver flecks of magic power began to shoot into Triatath's back. The mysterious woman's feet glowed a shade of deep green. The starting tendrils of rain brushed against them. The see breeze blew through their hair and clothing. Three! Two! one! Adrenaline filled Triatath's veins. Coursing violently through his body. His eyes glazed over like a beast's. GO! The crowd was knocked back as the blast of wind buffeted them. Triatath and the woman were neck and neck. The first two laps had already gone. They were going at least 90 Miles per hour. They flew, the bliss of the silent battle was interrupted by a loud cry. The woman lashed out at Triatath, Triatath instinctively dodged easily however he looked over. Blood was seeping from the woman's feet. Her boots were eating here feet like a flesh eating virus. Triatath stopped as the woman fell to here knees, scraping them along the pavement and cobble. A large red line was carved out by the blood. She was pail white and shivering. The crowd was completely silent. She pulled a knife out and cut of her boots, carving up her feet in the procsess. You have a 2% chance of that wound being infected if it is treated properly! Triatath beamed as he announced his "great" news. She stabbed the knife into his leg, It plunged into him. "That was a good Knife!" he yelled, overpowering her and pulling the contorted bent piece of metal which used to resemble a knife. The knife had completely been bent and destroyed when it hit his metal legs. Triatath stood up and carried The woman over to the tree and propped her against it. "I thought the boots would help me get money... I just wanted to pay of the dark guild... I... I had to... I killed my brother and his puppy in a fit of rage... I strangled them and... and... I can't even look at myself anymore..." Triatath smiled, his face quickly dropped to a very angry expression, the crowd was at tears from the girl's story. Triatath quickly raised his hand and slapped her across the face. Over and over again. How dare you lie to me like that! Her face was a bloody pulp, she spat at him, the bloody spit trailed down his suit.  He picked up her money, roughly 500,000 Jewels and began to walk away. Roxy popped out of his pocket and healed the woman to a decent state before returning to Triatath. He slogged towards the Large building marked charity.

As Triatath walked, he clutched a tattered piece of parchment in his hand. The paper was a dirty golden and ink from writing had bled through it. He sat down against a wall next to the harbor, the cool breeze constantly blowing his fair hair into his eyes. Triatath looked intensely into the horizon. The massive ball of light more commonly known as the sun, beamed down against his skin, his freckles popped out in the intense illumination. He blocked out the sun with the thin piece of paper in an attempt to shield himself. He read the paper, the sun blinding him through the paper. Triatath did not know why he held onto the paper, he knew that he could remember exactly what was on the sheet, but something about it seemed important. Triatath read the thin dandelion colored scroll in front of him, WANTED ALIVE- Fleet-foot Max for theft, manslaughter and illegal gambling. She has been seen wearing a peculiar pair of boots which cause her to move quickly. Killing this woman is a crime, do not attempt to bring back her corpse in hopes of a reward- Triatath let go of the withered vellum and watched the wind carry it out to sea, the color streaking behind it like watercolors as it landed and drifted away into the glistening table of water that was the ocean. Triatath stood up, cracking his back with a loud jerking motion. He stepped into the charity office and placed the stacks of money onto the counter, the old man's mouth seemed to hit the ground as he saw Triatath give away more than half a million Jewels. Back to saber tooth it seemed.
