The Bounty Hunter and the Guildless

It was bright out, really bright, the temperature was warm but not too hot. It was all in all a pleasant day. Ray looked around at the other passer-bys and shoppers as he made his way towards the cafe. He couldn't help but wonder what the other mage would be like. He had gotten pretty lucky on his other jobs, getting paired with young women and all. Not to mention they knew how to handle themselves in trouble. Still, he wouldn't mind having another guy around. If he did get a male partner, hopefully he'd be strong with some powerful magic, take some of the slack off Ray.

He finally grew near the cafe and looked around for the meeting spot. It didn't take long before his eyes landed on the job sheet pinned near a table. His eyes slid down to the seats and landed on a young male with blonde hair. He didn't look particularly strong, but never judge a book by its cover, right. "I assume you're my partner on this job?" He asked as he approached the other young man.

Ray smirked as the other male introduced himself. It was actually fairly helpful though, after all Ray knew he was a mage named Reni, from Black Rose. He was honestly a bit disappointed as well as pleased with his new partners first impression. It was good to work with another guy every now and again, plus he seemed friendly enough. On the down side he was a member of a guild, though he hadn't been cramming down Rays throat yet.

He shrugged with a smile "I'm Ray, No guild, No girlfriend, and No boyfriend." He introduced himself before looking the boy up and down. There was a flash in Reni's eyes that made Ray curious. It was always strange with mages, you could never judge their power from their appearance. Well sometimes you could, most of the powerful mages Ray had fought looked pretty strong. A quick nod was all Ray gave before gesturing for Reni to lead the way. "After you."

'Monster Dice' :

Ray looked out over the area, scanning the crowd. Just as the other male had said, there were a group of bandits and pirates. The small herd of criminals was making their way towards the port. Then pirates made stories of thieving men sailing the seas and drinking in taverns. Breaking any law they could just to spite the authorities. Stories of treason and heroics. The bandits brought tales of secret organizations, dark secrets, and a sly sense of honor among thieves.

It was fair to say these men didn't live up to the stories he could imagine for them. The pirates weren't much more than grown men that smelled like fish and salt. To be fair, they did look like they had seen quite a few battles, and won. The bandits ,however, didn't look too threatening. They looked like they had a bit of experience but nothing the two mages couldn't handle. On the other hand, they were out numbered nine to two.
