    Job:

    Lekuna was at it again, and by at it, she'd obviously mean going on another job. Who would she bring? Well, by this point it was obvious. The time mage would bring on the only other mage she had really made any kind of emotional attachment to, Venir. Although she was a more powerful mage than Lekuna, the power was raw and the little girl most likely had no real way to use it effectively. How do you solve a problem like that? You tell them how and you bring them along to train in the unknown lands of Fiore. Looking down at her glittering pocket watch, she saw that it was just about time for her partner to arrive at the portal located in the middle of nowhere to get started. She couldn't quite believe it, but this was actually a job on the job board, stuck all the way to the back and on rotten paper. All we have to do is survive a training session inside of the unknown lands, how hard can it really be? she thought as she looked sharp for her incoming partner.

    It's still the unknown lands, though, so I need to be careful about this, but so long as Venir is around to protect the both of us should something come up, we should be fine. she continued to think, wondering of what sort of horrors they would find through a portal to a place called the *unknown* lands. With a sigh, she continued to think. This time of the possibility that Venir got lost on the way here, which could really happen to anyone, not just a child. It was a very out of the way location as well as not by any landmarks, really. I should have come along with her, but it's too late for that now. Hopefully she can find her way here

    "LEKUNA ASKED ME TO GO ON A MISSION WITH HER!?!?!?" The thought was screamed repeatedly in her head and at one point it was screamed out loud into one of the many soft pillows adorning her bed. The young girl up until this point had always been the one asking others to accompany her on missions but for the first time someone had finally asked her to tag along. It was even more special to Venir considering that it was not just anyone who had asked her to go on a mission but it was Lekuna. The time mage was so quiet and reserved most of the time that Venir never would have guessed that this particular guild mate would invite her anywhere let alone on a mission. Not to mention the other girl was more or less an idol to Venir, an older sister figure, someone that Venir wanted to be like when she was older if she ever grew up.

    She had woken up early just to get a head start, but that head start ended up turning into a late start. After all she had to wake up, get in the shower, wake up again in the shower, figure out what to wear, eat a hearty breakfast made by Katherine, brush her teeth, brush her hair, and a plethora of other mundane tasks that ended up causing the girl to leave a few hours later than she had initially expected. If her late start wasn't bad enough, at one point Venir got lost on her journey to the Unknown lands. "Where on earth is this place?" She cried as she walked, the main roads were easy enough to follow, but the moment you took her off the main roads Venir was as good as lost. Which caused the girl to wander around aimlessly for a few hours, hoping that she might somehow end up in the Unknown lands at the designated meeting place in an appropriate amount of time. At least luck was on Venir's side as it often was, and the girl had somehow someway ended up where Lekuna was. "I knew following the butterfly would get me here!" She internally shouted with glee as she dashed towards Lekuna actually shouting, "Lekuuuuuna!" Before launching herself at the woman hoping to get a hug and maybe a pat on the head. "What's the plan!?"

    When Lekuna heard her name shouted from what sounded like a little girl, she knew that her partner on the job had arrived. Venir was really the only mage she had consistently gone on jobs with, and this would be her third with the girl. Not only was the little girl powerful in the ways of raw magic, she also lacked family aside from the guild, which Lekuna could empathize with. By this time, her mother and father weren't even born yet, so she technically didn't really have any family that knew her either. Sure, she had her grandfather and grandmother, but they didn't know who she was nor would she want to explain her situation to them. The time mage sort of felt as though she was the bigger sister or guardian of Venir in a strange way, as she didn't quite plan to make any real connections in this guild that she had joined out of necessity. It was either Eclipse Soul or die in the ice cold wilderness on the outskirts of Karakura Town, and Lekuna would make the same decision in a heartbeat.

    Although she owed a great deal to Katherine, she also felt that the pain she bore in order to have the potential to harness her current magic kind of made them square. Now, she looked down at the small girl who, although held more raw magical power than her, she still considered to be a little girl who still had a lot to learn about how to use her powers and what was and wasn't right. As confident as Lekuna was that Venir had a basic idea of ethics, kidnapping new guild members was a bit of a cause for concern. "Hey Venir, you're two minutes late." she said, wrapping her arms awkwardly around the smaller girl in an attempt to give her a quick hug. "The plan is to hone our skills. That's all that was on the job form, really. Suspicious, but it'll be good for us" she said, gesturing for the girl to follow her through the portal.

    "Two minutes late!?" She echoed Lekuna a frown crossing over her features, "Next time I'm going to be right on time for sure!" She held out her pinky to Lekuna, in an attempt to make a pinky promise with her. The awkward hug was all but dismissed to the girl, any hug was appreciated to her, and she had yet to realize what awkward anything felt like. "Hone our skills?" She seemed almost confused, having not undergone any kind of formal training the young girl wasn't sure what to expect. "Like weight lifting or running?" She tried to imagine what exactly it was that the two of them would have to do in a strange placed called the Unknown Land that would be considered as training. Still unable to get a get pictures as to what they would be doing Venir simply shrugged the optimist in her hoping for the best, "Well if you think it'll be good for us then I guess I'll believe you!" She grinned before jumping into the portal without a moment's hesitation.

    Going through the portal left an odd feeling in Venir's stomach, like the moment of weightlessness while on roller coaster, the feeling was strong enough to cause Venir to squeeze her eyes closed until her feet hit solid ground. "Huh?" Despite the strong feeling she got it lasted only for a moment as it took only a moment to reach the Unknown Lands. A slight gasp was released from her lips when her eyes opened up and took in her surroundings. "Scary...." Was the only word in her small vocabulary that she could use to describe the place she had found herself in. It was a completely desolate wasteland but behind every rock seemed to be a shadow, and out of the corner of her there was always something moving but when she looked there was nothing there. "Lekuna!" She cried out not wanting to be stuck in such a place by herself.

    Lekuna blinked when Venrir held out her pinkie in an attempt to make a deal with her. The concept was so foreign that Lekuna was a bit taken aback by it. She didn't show that feeling visibly, of course, but that didn't make it any less present. After staring at the girl's outstretched finger for about five seconds, all she had to say was "Thank you". What the significance of holding out her little finger was, the mage may never know, but that didn't stop her from Venir giving her word that she'd be on time on the next job. Of course, she was still a young girl and Lekuna didn't quite expect her to make it on time. When the next few words came out of her partner's mouth, Lekuna was caught in quite another moment of silence. "Nothing like that. More of the magical kind" she responded, trying to explain what kind of training they would be doing in the Unknown Lands.

    Upon entering the portal, Lekuna looked around. The space between the two realms was fascinating, and often was her favorite part of going through linking gates like these, as they were called in Bosco. These seemed to be magical in nature, however, so maybe that wouldn't be the best term for them. Regardless, when they arrived, the girl to her side seemed to be visibly distraught at the less than friendly atmosphere that greeted them. "Be brave. There's nothing here that can hurt you more than you can hurt it" Lekuna said, confident that there wouldn't be anything too dangerous for a powerful mage like her partner. In reality, the surroundings were quite barren and devoid of any creatures, so far. Their task was to search for some mirror in a clearing around this limbo and defeat whatever monster is summoned from it. Simple enough, but the hard part would most likely be finding that mirror, or surviving long enough *to* find it.

    At Lekuna's appearance Venir was quick to rush to the woman's side. "Nothing that can hurt me more than I can hurt it?" For some reason Venir had a tough time wrapping her head around that concept. She didn't believe she was particularly powerful or anything of that nature. "Well, Lekuna's here to protect me!" The girl was completely unaware of how the time mage might have been thinking the same thing just the other way around. Before the two could venture any further into the unknown lands Venir stopped them, "Wait! I almost forgot!' She shifted about nervously with a faint blush. "Just let me get ready really fast!" By ready she was implying her magic, after all Lekuna said they were going to be training their magic.

    There were many reasons as to why the young girl was mildly embarrassed abouy her magic, and the ridiculous transformation sequence to activate it was one of them. Snapping the charm off her bracelet, a golden star with white wings on either side of it, the silly process began. The charm grew in size and the staff portion attached to it seemed to appear out of nowhere. The mage wasn't done yet as her flashy transformation began. Her previous clothes changed and their place took a frilly pink dress, silk like white gloves, a white cape, and long pink boots with feathe like wings near the ankles. "Done!" A faint blush still dusted her cheeks but it looked almost natural now thanks to her overall rather bubbly apprearance. In fact if one looked closesly Venir seemed to be alnost glowing conpared the gloomy enviorment around them, little pink sparkles of energy still surroundinh her after her transformation, "Let's go!"She beamed up towards Lekuna hoping that she might dostract the older woman from bringing up anything about what had just occured. seeing as Lekuna was a newfound idol to her, Venir was unsure if she could bear Lekuna saying any negative comments towards her magic.

    Before they ventured out into the spooky wasteland that was the Unknown Lands, Venir pulled a stunt that was unknown to the time mage. It was this grand transformation that occurred, or at least that's what Lekuna thought while witnessing her partner's change. Not long after they had arrived and Venir was now wearing a frilly pink dress, had a star staff of some kind, boots that matched her dress, and matching white gloves and a cape. "Quite the spectacle for such a cute getup, Venir" she said in response to it. Venir was visibly embarrassed about her transformation for some reason, as Lekuna was sure she had performed it many times before, but she guessed that it would take the young girl a little more time to become accustomed to her own magic. By now you'd think that she would have. Venir is not weak in the slightest, she just doesn't know how to really use her power. But being embarrassed about using a power she must have had for a while? Odd

    "I think I'll prepare myself as well" she said as she held out her hand and a black-silver runic circle and a long, blue rifle was pulled from it. Lekuna didn't know what to expect from this realm, for obvious reasons, but she was confident that providing Venir support from afar was the best option. "Whatever we find, I'll help you through my rifle. Okay?" she said, wanting to know if Venir was satisfied with her plan of action. It wasn't much, but neither was her knowledge of a place called Unknown Lands, so it kind of balanced out. By the time Venir said it was time to go, Lekuna nodded and followed the lead of the adorably clad mage whose magic she didn't quite know much about.

    At Lekuna's comment the girl could only blush more, her face reddening significantly rivaling a tomato. "Oh no she must think I'm so childish now!" The thought went through her head in a bit of panic perhaps reading into her guild mates words to much. Not to mention the thought wasn't exactly incorrect. While Venir had her moments of almost eerie and irregular maturity the girl overall was as childish as children come, especially because she lacked any upbringing and had to more or less rely on her guild mates to teach her manners and the like. A job that the guild more times than not was failing to do for her.

    The blush was just beginning to fade from her face when Lekuna also prepared herself for whatever creatures might be lurking out in the Unknown Lands. Once again the girl felt unimaginably childish compared to her partner in crime who's own preparations were not childish, pink, and flashy in the slightest. The rifle was something Venir had never seen before and she seemed somewhat curious about the weapon for a moment but Lekuna snapped her out of her trance. "Got it!" She replied unaware of exactly how a rifle worked, she imagined it more or less like a club of sorts, it did sort of look like something that could be used to hit someone or something. Blissfully unaware of the fact that Lekuna would not be facing the unknown side by side with her but instead providing back from afar, Venir ventured forth into the unknown with confidence. What was there for her to fear out here? She had a strong guild mate at her side right? The girl who stood out in the dreary landscape, a walking ball of pink color stood out like a target. Her footsteps echoed and she made no move to try and hide her presence, or she simply lacked the common sense to do that.

    "Excellent. I'm sure we'll be fighting soon. You aren't wearing the most stealthy of clothes" Lekuna commented with a small grin while looking around them. The landscape was a lot more drab than she had expected. For a place called the Unknown Lands, you'd think that the place would be a lot more interesting than grey dirt and shadows as far as the eye can see she thought while walking and leading Venir with the blue rifle on her back sticking out like a sore thumb. Wanting to pass the time a bit quicker, which when she checked, seemed to be about fifteen minutes from when they had entered, she began to do something she never thought she'd do in Eclipse Soul.... She made small talk. "What's a young girl like you doing in a guild like this? It's not the most morally straight, you know" Lekuna asked, almost immediately regretting her decision to speak up. But, she kind of had the feeling to get to know Venir a little more, already having been on a couple jobs with her.

    That alone made Venir Lekuna's friend as far as guilds go, her only friend, really. Her real friends hadn't been born yet, and even when they were, she would much rather not interact with them again as they'd die and she'd be left alone once again. With a sigh, she stopped. Not because she was feeling blue, though, but because she felt as though something was watching them and it wasn't far away. "You can tell me while we deal with whatever is stalking us" the time mage told her young partner while returning her pocket watch to its home and pulling the sleek blue rifle from her back. It's about time something decided to show up she thought, another small grin appeared on her face. Over time, she had started to enjoy the thrill of battle and experimenting different things to find the best way of defeating an enemy, this would be no different.

    "Ah!" Once again Venir found herself embarrassed at her guildmate's remark. "She'll never go on a job with me again because I'm too flashy!" She internally cried as she walked along unable to meet Lekuna's gaze. For a moment it seemed as if the two would go in silence, a thing Venir would have hated if not for how silly she felt. However, the unthinkable happened and Lekuna actually initiated conversation with the young girl. Venir seemed stunned for a moment considering Lekuna actually spoke to her. Her embarrassment and sillyness temporarily forgotten the girl pondered over Lekuna's question, one that she couldn't answer simply. "I don't know." She shrugged almost instantaneously, "The first thing I remember after losing my memories is being in Eclipse Soul so I'm in Eclipse Soul!" At that girl realized Lekuna had stopped.

    "Something's following us?" She hadn't even felt the presence, or even thought of the idea of monster's for the past few minutes of walking. It was at that moment that something appeared. At first it just a shadow slinking across the dreary landscape. However, the mass of darkness stopped some distance away from the two mages as if it was thinking or evaluating them. Then the shadowy creature slunk away from the earth, the shadows building up on top of a each other, climbing up into the air. The mass of shadows slowly began to take form first two beefy legs, then two arms with deadly claws, and finally its head came into view, sharp shadowy teeth and nose. It looked almost bear like and its roar that followed its formation confirmed that it was clearly some sort of grotesque nightmareish bear. "Ah!" Venir screamed in return at the creature, her own shriek filled with terror. With one shaky hand she held up her staff as she fumbled for a card from her holster. Unfortunately, for the two mages Venir had a plethora of nightmares in which the scary creatures could choose to reenact, and who knows what sorts of fears Lekuna might be harboring.

    How sad. She's so young and can't remember anything before coming to the guild where as I wish I could. I don't think it can get more ironic than that she thought with a frown before turning to the creature that had been tailing them. When she saw it, her heart rate increased drastically and she nearly froze in place. Those eyes were unmistakable. They belonged to the vicious wolves that watched her from beyond the dim light of her fires when she was trying to survive the harsh mountain climate prior to joining the guild. The wolves would come on particularly cold nights when she was particularly vulnerable, but few times did they venture into the light for her to see their horrific faces. It seemed as though every time she saw them they became more and more desperate for her to slip up. Every time but once did she stand her ground against the increasingly decrepit looking monsters that stalked her in her times of weakness.

    "It's back..." she said, taking a step back and breathing heavily as she did so. "We have to destroy that monster Venir, we need to do it now" she said, taking aim at the thing through the scope of her rifle which she was struggling to keep steady. Lekuna swore she saw it smile at her through its sharp teeth before beginning to run towards the girls at a nightmarish speed. She took a shot. A blue beam fired from her rifle and shot past Venir and towards the shadow wolf, only to miss due to her lack of focus. It was difficult to get a steady aim on something that terrified her, but she had to try to make it at least seem like she had it together, not for her sake, but for Venir's.

    Apparently the two mages saw two totally different creatures but that did not matter as both seemed to want nothing more than to destroy the shadow being. Her shaky hand pulled out the first card she could grab out of the garter belt holster upon her thigh. Pulling out a card labeled "the Shot" she placed it upon her staff. "Include!" She shouted the card getting absorbed into her staff. She raised it high above her head, the shadow creature still rushing towards her, "Shoot!" She commanded and suddenly little balls of pure pink energy shot out from her staff all of them directed towards the nightmarish creature. Perhaps about 6 out of 8 out of the shots hit the creature. Not nearly enough to take it down but enough to make it stop in its tracks. The little shots didn't do much damage individually but together they were quite stunning not to mention they moved rather quickly.

    At that moment a loud sharp sound burst through Venirs ears, enough to cause he to instantly clasp her gloved hands over her ears. She felt something fly by her and her red eyes managed to catch sight of a blue shot of energy of sorts. "That must be Lekuna." The thought rang dimly through her head. Unfortunately, that shot missed the creature who was just beginning to recover from Venir's barrage of shots. Taking a wary step back Venir raised her staff once more preparing to shoot another barrage of attacks at the creature. She was still shaking with fear, somewhere inside of her she was upset with Lekuna. When the other woman said magic training she did not imagine that it would consist of fighting such creatures. She would have to take that up with Lekuna, perhaps the two could escape from this nightmare before anymore creatures showed up.

    Lekuna watched as Venir took action, firing off eight shots of some kind of energy towards that giant wolf that was attacking them. Out of those, six were able to hit, weakening the creature a bit, but not enough to where it was taken down. I need to breath or else I'm not going to make the shot she thought while looking down the scope of her rifle. Another shot was fired when she pulled the trigger, again rushing past her partner and again missing the beast as it came to its senses and began to run hungrily towards Venir. I can't even hit it! she thought, frustrated at the fact that it was giving her such a hard time. It's going to pounce on Venir, I can't let that happen. The mage began to run towards the girl and knew that it was definitely going to be a close shave if she was to protect her from the wolf.

    But, Lekuna had time on her side. When she reached Venir's side, she turned her rifle upside down, her hands now holding onto the barrel, and swung it as hard as she could like a bat. Normally there wouldn't be enough time for her to pull such a lengthy maneuver in the heat of combat, but she had used a spell, unbeknownst to Venir and the wolf, most likely. It cut out the point in time where she would have to turn it upside down and wind up her swing so that only the parts where she had it in her hands and the butt of the weapon slamming against the wolf's jaw were visible. Everything else would appear as a blur, a fragment of what should have been shown. Upon the weapon colliding with the wolf's head, a crack could be heard and it was sent flying off to her left. Lekuna was left huffing as it was indeed a close one, despite being the kind of mage that she was.

    Venir fired off two more of the little pink shots, both of them just barely hitting the shadow creature. Once again a loud bang left Venir's ears ringing. By the time she recovered she realized that the beast was charging towards her. The young girl didn't know what had taken a hold of her but she froze in fear. Her heart was pounding in her chest, so loudly that she could hardly hear anything else or that might have been the after effects of Lekuna's rifle being shot. Her muscles were locked in place but the girl was visibly shaking and her crimson eyes were so wide that she looked much like a deer caught in headlights. Steadily, the creature came closer and closer. Right as it was on top of her, Venir had managed to at least pull her arms up in a last ditch effort to shield herself, not that her arms would do much good against the creature. Yet the hit that Venir had prepared herself for never came...."Huh?" She lowered her arms curiously to see Lekuna standing there, with rifle in hand and the creature off to the left.

    Sudden realization came over her and she hugged Lekuna with all her might, a mighty sob escaping her lips. She had momentarily forgotten that the creature was still there but she felt the need to express her current feelings. "I-I-I was so scared Lekuna!" She wailed refusing to let go of the time mage. "I-I-I-"Before she could blubber out anymore words an angry sounding roar cut her off and Venir realized that the creature was still kicking but it was mad. A sudden instinct taking over her Venir directed her staff towards the creature once more and declared, "Shoot!" Before six more of the fast moving balls of energy shot themselves at it, somehow managing to hit their mark. The creature didn't seem nearly as scary now that Lekuna was by her side. Still, it seemed as if those little shots alone wouldn't take it down yet.

    "It's okay Venir. It can't hurt you while we're together" she said before the little girl squeezed her tight enough to take the wind right out of her. "Now let's finish what we started" Lekuna continued after taking a sharp gasp of air due to the aforementioned compression of her insides. That's when it hit her. Lekuna was treating Venir as her mother would treat her when she got scared, trying to console the young girl with compassion. So much for not getting attached... the girl thought with a sigh at the realization that she had failed to do the one thing she had planned on doing. That creature just did not know when to quit, and it was angry now. It let out a sharp howl before wobbling onto its feet and beginning to run towards the two girls.

    It snarled and drooled as it came up to them, but Lekuna merely stretched her hand out and froze the time in a small rectangular shape in front of her. Of course, it was invisible; so the shadow creature couldn't quite react. When it crashed, it leaned its head down and whimpered slightly as Lekuna put the end of her barrel against the side of its skull from around the wall that nobody but her could see. "Can't miss this" she said with a smile before pulling the trigger and letting out a beam of blue light that penetrated the creature's temple. Well, it would have if it had one, instead it simply decapitated the being which caused it to fall over and sent up a dirt cloud. "I think it's down now... good job Ven" she said, encouraging the girl and rubbing her hand on her head before continuing moving forward. "There's still more to do, unfortunately. Let's keep moving"

    Venir clung onto Lekuna for a moment more as she spoke before finally releasing the woman from her vice like grip. "Right!" She sniffled wiping away at the tears with the back of her white gloved hand. As long as the two of them were together they could do just about anything. The howl that might have scared her if she was by herself hardly phased Venir other than causing her to wince at its loud cry. "I gotta be strong for Lekuna!" She thought with a rather determined look as she readied her staff once more. As the beast moved towards them Venir set off her last eight little balls of energy and simply hoped for the best as they hit their mark. It wasn't enough to stop the creature but apparently something else did managed to stop it right in front of the two mages. Before Venir could figure out what it was Lekuna had shot straight through the creatures skull causing Venir's eyes to widen. Luckily it wasn't to graphic of a sight, there was no blood to speak of but bits of shadow did go splattering here and there.

    "So cool!" She beamed up at the older woman, once again in awe that such a mage would even consider going on a job with someone like herself. "No! You did more of the work!" Venir insisted to Lekuna, she probably could have praised the time mage for days if she could. Alas, the two mages had other things to attend to. "Right! On we go!" She sent one more forlorn glance towards the remnants of the shadow creature, somewhat worried by it. The shadows didn't dissipate at all, they simply clung to the ground like a sinister goo. It was unmoving but at the same time it worried the girl, "What if it comes back?" She questioned but was quick to get moving, "If it comes back then I suppose it'd be better if we weren't right here with it."

    As nice as it would be to accept Venir's praise and get a boost to her ego, Lekuna knew better. For some reason, which she could probably predict, the little girl was more ignorant to her power than she thought, causing her to think that Lekuna was some kind of powerful mage. In reality, all Lekuna really had was potential to be knowledgeable as well as some fancy time maneuvers, nothing aside from that. Not only that, but the little one sure was chipper after they had defeated that shadow creature which took a lot longer to defeat than Lekuna anticipated. "What a monster? Huh?" she told her young partner as they walked through the valley made of shadows, attempting to start up some kind of conversation again. "What is your magic Venir? It's very fitting to you if you'd ask me" the time mage said, smiling downwards while continuing forth.

    This was no idle question, though, as Lekuna actually had a strong dislike to questions without purpose. Too many times people would ask questions that they weren't willing to hear the answer to. Those were questions asked by people choosing to stay ignorant and that really kind of annoyed her. But, Lekuna was actually curious about the younger mage's magic. Her comment earlier was not an idle one, as it seemed liked something a little girl would be drawn to, with exuberant colors such as pink and glowing white. The question really was, what exactly was it. Her magic was easy to describe, hard to explain, though it seemed as though Venir's seemed to be hard to describe and even worse to explain. I don't think I've ever heard of a magic that allows the user to turn into the equivalent of a fairy. Maybe she's using some personalized form of requip? Maybe it's something completely different Lekuna pondered for a bit while Venir came up with her answer.

    "Mhm!" Venir agreed with her partner, that creature was certainly tough, tougher than she had anticipated. If that was one of the things that roamed this land she could only imagine what the other creatures were like. Before her imagination could get to work Lekuna had asked a rather complicated question, one that the young girl was unsure of if she could properly answer. "My magic? Fitting!?" Once again the girl was blushing, "I mean if you say so....It's not nearly as cool as your or Deniels or Alyia's!" Venir was quick to turn the praise to her guild mates. "My magic though hmmmmm...." She hummed in thought, seeming to be so concentrated on the question at hand that she nearly tripped over a well-placed rock.

    After regaining her balance and saving herself from the embarrassment of face-planting in front of Lekuna, Venir cleared her throat in preparation for her explanation. "Well," She began, "My magic is in this staff thingy here!" She showed Lekuna the pink girlish staff, with the golden star at its top and pure white wings on either side of it. "When it's not in its staff form it's in the form of a bracelet. Without it I can't really do much but when I activate it this whole costume thing appears.....I think it's made out of my own energy?" Her head tilted to the side but as to how she knew that even she didn't know. "Oh and these cards appear with it!" She dug a few cards out of her holster and showed them to Lekuna. On the backs of the cards were magic circles with ancient looking ruins, the front of the cards had various images with words on them each card obviously having a separate function. The cards themselves might have seemed almost ordinary if not for the rather strange magic presence within them and the magic circles on the back, but alas Venir did not have an explanation for these strange things. "This one here!" She held out a card labeled the sword, "Makes my staff turn into a sword! While this one," She held out another card labeled the Saber but it had a worn down image on it, one of what appeared to be an almost familiar girl in armor, "Puts me in armor!" With that she slipped the cards back into the holster secured around her thigh. "Does that help?" It was all she really knew about her magic, bits and pieces of her knowledge of it floated back to her each day but all in all she herself hardly knew much about it or how she even knew how to use it. A rather worrisome thought, even to Venir.

    "Um, I think you may want to work on your description skills Ven" Lekuna said with a smile as she tried to wrap her head around all the different things that her partner had described to her. Her staff was a bracelet in its inactive form, but when she activated it, it turned into a staff from which her whole magic revolved around. So Venir is a holder mage huh? I haven't seen one of those yet, mostly casters, but then again I haven't seen much of anyone Lekuna thought, a bit upset by the fact that she had avoided most people under a false assumption that she would ruin things. Now that she knew she was in a different time line altogether, Lekuna thought it would be best to actually make an effort to try and get to know her fellow guild members. Part of the reason she was avoiding people is for what was said prior, but it was also because she knows that making bonds with end up with her losing that person.

    The curse of eternity is what she had, though it didn't quite matter. Her time in the woods had made her a lot colder, but since she went to train with her mother, she was slowly returning to how she was before. Despite what others may think of her, she does have a personality that she'd only show to people close to her, as strangers are just that to her. Lekuna didn't quite enjoy starting up conversations with them, but didn't mind continuing on with them if she felt they were worth her time. Not like she had a lack of that now, however. From now on, she would try to make a concerted effort to interact with strangers better than she had, actually trying to show her personality and attempt to enjoy herself, as it was better than being lonely forever.

    "Deniel and Alyia, huh? Maybe I should meet them then, if their magic is as cool as you say" she said to the smaller girl after thinking about all things stated previously through. "Also Venir, I have to thank you for helping me get more comfortable with people. I remember what happened before Eclipse Soul too well. I shut down socially after that, until you. Now I want to go back to how I used to" she said to Venir, seemingly out of nowhere. Wow. That may have been the longest string of words I have ever said to the Venir

    "Sorry!" Venir was quick to apologize, lowering her head in some sort of shame. It wasn't the first time Venir had heard those words but it still stung a little. She had found that recently people have been asking her a lot of questions some that she simply couldn't answer and others she lacked the proper words to answer. Besides how could one truly expect an eloquent full explanation from a young girl whom barely knew who she was let alone the circumstances of her existence and the fine details of her strange magic. At the very least it seemed her magic did get the job done, sort of. "You haven't met them yet!?" Venir gasped, red eyes widening. "Oh trust me Lekuna they're sooooooo cool!" This seemed to be a subject that she knew a lot more about, "Deniel's the guildmaster and he's super tall like this-" She raised her hand up as high as she could and even went up on her tippy toes, "And he's super scary but don't let him fool you! He's kinda nice. Sometimes." She proceeded to go on to one of her favorite people, "Oh and Alyia is super pretty! With blonde hair and blue eyes and she's an angel! No really I swear she is! She's Kat's granddaughter! She's super nice like a big sister almost!" She was quick to describe and praise her guildmaster and guildmate but didn't go into details about their magic, figuring that she should at least try and give Lekuna a picture of the two of them.

    Lekuna's comment caught the girl off guard though visibly making her pause. The older woman's words meant a lot to the girl, "I-I don't know what to say...." She was being sincere, "I'm glad that you feel that way!" She quickly added because nothing would make her happier than a Lekuna who was open and social. Before the girl could carry on and give Lekuna a poor attempt at a motivating speech a sudden sound caught the girls ears and she turned on her heel to see what it was.

    Lekuna listened to Venir speak of her guild mates as if they were family members to her, kind of like how she was to Lekuna. "That's nice" she said idly, thinking of how she would approach the other members of the guild. "Help me... I'm so scared" a voiced called out from what seemed to be beneath them. What in the world she thought while looking down to see a small black blob of shadow come out of the dirt slowly. It lazily clawed its way out of whatever hole it was hiding in before the arrival of the two mages. "What are you?" she asked, puzzled by the being as it trying to attach itself to Venir's leg. "They're coming, don't let them hurt me..." were all it said before the time mage took notice of the army of shadows that had amassed not so far away.

    "Well Ven, time to show you what I can do" Lekuna said, getting down on one knee and cast one of the strongest spells in her arsenal. She focused and focused hard on one particular spell, 'Paradox', and in that instance, an identical twin of her appeared next to her. The other Lekuna was kneeling down and was also using the blue rifle, aiming it forward. "Hey Ven" she said casually, already knowing what she was doing here. "Are they anything to worry about?" Lekuna asked, knowing that this version of her is from an alternate timeline in which she most likely fought the same creatures. "They're nothing to worry about" the other time mage responded cooly before firing off the first round towards the horde, taking out four of the mindless monsters in one shot. I suppose they die easily, though they make up for it in mass numbers. Quite the strategy

    At the sound of a voie that was neither hers or Lekuna's, Venir froze. There was a slight tremble to that voice so Venir wasn't worried about it. When the little shadow blob came into view Venir made a sound akin to a squeal at its cuteness. That seemed to startle the creature and realizing her mistake Venir cooed to it, slowly coaxing it closer to herubtil finally the little creature clung to her leg while shaking. "Awwww come here poor thing!" Delicately she picked the little shadow up, cradling it in her arms as if it were a child.

    At Lekuna's voice Venir noticed the shadow army not to far away, both her and the creature made a similar whimpering sound neither of them seeming to care for the shadows. Unlike the creature Venir seemed quick to toss away that fear realizing in some strange way that the creature was relying on her and Lekuna. "Woah..." She breathed out in awe when a second Lekuna appeared, "See?" She inquired looking to the little creature cowering in her arms, "Lekuna's super strong! She'll protect us!" The creature and Venir watched for a moment as Lekuna and her double took down one of the creatures. Watching Lekuna do it with ease Venir seemed reassured. "Alright I have to help now to so I'm setting you down!" Venir did her best to set the creature down but it wanted no part of it. "Don't worry we'll protect you!" She tried to coax it out of her arms but alas the creature would not budge.

    "Lekuna? Can you buy me some time?...Please?" She slipped a card out from her holster placing it on her staff. "Hopefully this will still work..." Despite not even holding onto the shadow creature it clung to the fabric of her dress quaking in terror. "Install!"

    Venir had made both of the time magi chuckle at the simple prospect of buying her more of her particular domain of command. It's true, as much as she hated to admit it, that she had grown to have a soft spot for time puns. It wasn't the most mature thing, query frankly it was one of the silliest things about her, but they made her laugh. Lekuna hoped that Venir didn't hear her laugh at the silly pun, for if she did, Venir would have a sure fire way to get her laughing. Hell, Venir didn't even make a pun, but the mages immediately thought of it as something funny.

    It was truly a disaster that no amount of shadow nightmare creatures couldn't even match if they tried. No, this was much worse, and they both thought of the consequences as they died off at the army, taking more and more down with each shot while the ones they had already gotten were somehow putting themselves balk together. Quite the mess you've put me in now, Ven. The thought was a humorous one, sure, but there was work to do now. Her partner seriously needed some time to get ready, so who better to provide her with that precious of resource than the girl who specialized in controlling it.

    There were so many of them, causing her to question why exactly they are chasing that adorable, yet pathetic blob crazier that was much more of a detriment than an asset to her partner. "This is the extend of my offensive ability Venir, I can't distract them for top much longer." they both said politely and in unison, informing the smaller girl calmly that they were about to be in big trouble. Venir was strong, though, so a small army of weak creatures and a mutt want something she expected to be *too* much of a problem.
