The youth's eyes grazed across the vast stretches of the city. his elbow resting gently on the hilt of the sheathed sword as a soft chilling sigh escaped his lips. "In game worlds, there are safe zones typically inns or protected cities. However this one is different, No safe zones but rather a void zone. An area where the game's magical component is ruled out of being used. Interesting..." Even now the youth was still yet learning about the world.

Leaning back in the padded cafe' chair, Raiza would bring the mug to his lips. Looking down the street as he sipped the nicely brewed coffee. "Well its got it's perks after all" he chuckled, the young 22 year old would tug a bit on his opened cloak, adjusting the slack it gave before turning his head back towards the counter. "still hard to believe even after six years in this place... I've not found one person I'd consider an AI or pre-programmed bot..they're all truly alive", though time to stop talking outloud, people may begin to wonder. Then again most of his words were kept to himself and whispers as he sat at the booth, waiting for his food to arrive. Cafe' shops like this didn't have much, but they had the simple hunger regeneration foods such as snacks or smaller cooked foods such as noodles or hotdogs.

"The world isn't a video game."

This was the sentence that brought Zemina in contact with this man, roughly her age give or take a few years. However this wasn't what brought her to this town, coincidental encounters and such, no, she was here for a different reason.

The swordswoman stepped through the town, wearing her "casual" attire. A blood-red cloak, of which the hood was covering her head and hair, a red bra, and crimson skirt, accompanying these were black shoes, shoes that pressed against the ground, step after step.

She attracted a lot of attention, for the sword at her side gave off a magical vibe, but they knew magic couldn't be used in this area, and so did Zemina. Her sword was the basis of all her magic, and while the weapon itself is magical it still can be used as a regular sword, so this attracted a lot of attention. The red-clad swordswoman could be taken as an assasin, a knight, someone planning on doing something sinister, but this place was the reason she was here. This place alone.

The young woman stepped around, hood covering her face so much I'm shadow that only her hair and her mouth could be seen, the rest shrouded in darkness. She did seem shady, and Zemina could see how one could make that inference. All this young woman wanted was answers. "What is wrong with this place? How does magic not work here?" she continuously asked this question, until one person gave her an answer. One that wasn't helpful, but led her to someone who might give her answers.

"That cafe over there - I-It's where all the gossip is! Anyone can get you any answers if you go there, but whatever your planning won't be accepted by the light guilds!" This was said by an older man. One probably in his late forties. What the man didn't see was her tattoo on her midrif, the one belonging to a light guild. Sabertooth.

The woman entered the cafe, instantly attracting all of the eyes due to her appearance. A man, presumably the owner stepped up to Zemina. "Miss, you're going to have to get a more proper attire. One you can't be in here with solely a bra on, you must wear some kind of shirt. Secondly you can't have a hood on, now please-" Upon the "please," the man rested his hand on Zemina's shoulder. Zemina grasped that hand, and twisted his arm, causing a yell to emancipate from his lips. Zemina began slowly walking down the side of the cafe, looking for someone who might provide answers, not saying a single word until she heard someone, talking in a light tone. Acting as though other people should be artificial robots in some sort of video game, and that is why she spoke up to him. The only words coming from the crimson swordswoman's mouth being "The world isn't a video game." She said while walking past his booth, face still not visible, and not even caring to stop.

"perhaps not but how can you be certain any proof?" Raiza retorted in a simple response, leaning forward onto the table resting his elbows there, propping his head onto left hand while using his right to tilt the mug towards his lips again. "Though the same goes for, one cannot prove that it is either.". Though in his mind this was still equally questionable. His gaze shifted up to the tender whom brought him a paper plate with a hotdog in a bun.

"your order sir" the voice chimed before walking off to tend to other paying customers. Though the man seemed to shudder as he walked away. For good reason too as Raiza turned his head towards the crimson swordswoman that spoke to him. His black sclera alone told you he was different, but his piercing red iris and equally red pupil made it look all that more different. "So, what makes you respond to my half-minded whispers?" Not truly caring but hey, why not? This was another player, not an AI just by the way they responded. An AI would simply have some form of repeating speech pattern and only interact if you interacted first. Strange place this was, no matter the time spent here.

This person actually spoke back to Zemina. All day today whenever Zemina spoke to someone they cowered in fear that she would try to kill them or something, so this actually piqued her interest. Not because she was interested in this person, no. Because she was interested in this person's sense, their courage, their personality. This was all you needed to actually stop Zemina in her tracks, which she actually did.

The crimson swordswoman was walking away, when she heard his comment. This caused her to stop, and turn back to the man. "What makes you question me? Courage? Interest? Curiosity? Whatever it is, just say I've mimicked it."

The man from before, the one who's wrist is now almost broken, walked up to Zemina. "Wh-What do you want here? There's no one to assassinate, and we barely have money. Can you take yourself out of here!?"

Zemina stood there, glaring at the man, although it wouldn't be seen one bit. All that could be seen was the swordswoman jerking her head to the side, and giving the man a blank stare. "Get me a glass of cola. That is all, sir." she continued standing, with the inside of her hood glowing purple. Her hairpieces were in, attached to her hair that had a purple flame coming from it, which illuminated her hood, essentially making her face look demonic.

Idiots...the thought that was currently in Raiza's mind was how idiotic the poeple inside the cafe' were. 'her speed stat..no..her speed in general, as she only carries a single sword, minimal defense meaning she alone is a myrmidon of kinds, so someone like me... who has a shield, padded armor and a sword, would be killed all too easily, and these people with no defense at all, would be killed all in one chain combo' Though to Raiza he knew not to sit and question why she didn't but rather a smirk on his face before his lips began to seperate to talk once more.

"Idiots...clearly shes not going to hurt us, or we'd already be dead. You realize that right?" the youth's voice was stern and harsh, showing he truly meant what he said, and had just laid claim that this woman was yes a threat by all means just by her looks alone, but no she was not a danger, at least right now.

"Interest I suppose" he finally turned back to the woman before taking a sip from his mug. A grin on his face as he continued to look towards the woman's general direction. "Cola hm, Just by that alone, I assume you're not here just to get a drink and bite to eat. So what brings you here?"

Zemina sat in the booth that the man was in, and took off her hood, revealing red eyes and black hair, with the two aforementioned purple fiery hairpieces. The man, whom was a bit stressed out by Raiza's "words of advice" still approached her with caution, and set the glass on the table, in which Zemina grabbed the cup and took a small sip. "He is right. I do not blindly kill, I must have motives. And all of you in here wouldn't stand a chance against me, even without my magic." As she said this she tried to pick up the strongest magical presense inside the cafe. The magic would be nullified, but their prescience would still exist. The strongest other than herself came from this man, the one thinking that the world is a video game. She noticed he was weaker than her, probably a D Ranked mage still figuring out how to use magic, which is why he came here. Zemina held out 1,000 Jewels and gave it to the man. "O-One thousand!? This cola only costed A hundred fifty!" Zemina sighed.

The swordswoman put her fingers to the bridge of her nose, and waved the man away. "It was a tip..." she said barely audible, then looked up to the man. "I want answers. Answers to why this place nullifies all magic power. I hold the power of the a god at my side, and it's rendered useless as if it's some sort of petty child's magic. I need to find the source of this..." Zemina took another sip of her cola, listening in case the man gave a response.

Still pondering after a couple minutes after hearing why this woman was here, he turned his gaze to her eyes. "Well, if you'll hear me out, maybe we can reach a conclusion with my alternative explanation?", it was true, he was about to make a game reference, but none the less even if it was false, it wouldn't be all for a loss. This place truly did have magical nullifying properties, and with that in mind, even he had some form of a hypothesis about it. Wrong or not, who knows?

"In your typical RPG game which has a multiplayer component, there are safe zones where monsters and PVP is illegalized. Well, in the theory that this world is a game, this city is still not a safe zone, so what would it be by limiting magic? Instead it is a 'buffer' zone. Buffer zones are typical zones in a game where a boss or a legion of monsters are strengthened by a protective radius or the enemies are weakened. This is typically due to the inhabitants of the buffer zone being weak to something", while the theory may be un-true that this was a game world, the lesson was still existent. "Guess what I'm trying to say is it exists because people here cannot handle magic. They must of had such a low mage birth rate that the city would have been destroyed by magic had this anti-magic not been put up. As for how they do it? I did notice this city is fairly well technologically advanced, which makes me believe may be a form of magic itself, to cancle other, like a void" the words escaping his lips though what he said, he believed to be true, he felt this entire megacity was simply weak to magic, so to remedy that weakness, the anti magical zone was created to cover that weakness, allowing the city's strengths to flurish more easily. "I mean come on... even a weak mage like myself can sense this entire cafe besides us...is magicless." sipping the last bit of coffee he had in his mug before sliding it to the side.

"I guess if we went with the theory this isn't a video game, then the prinicple still applies that this place is no doubt afraid...and weak to magic, that is your answer to why it designed something to nulify magic. As to how.. I bet the magic counsel would have more answers than that. I assume its some form of ultimate technological magic, though thats just my theory"

Zenobia listened to his response, sighing a bit when he made a video game reference. "I understand the point of putting up or having a barrier like this, but I don't understand how it happens. If someone were able to actually nullify all magic from any mage, including extremely powerful ones, then the need for such a barrier is non existent. Would there be any danger. It's like saying 'Hey I have a cupcake but I'll make a brownie instead.' It's a waste. The people have all of this power at their expense to eliminate the threat entirely, but instead use it to keep the threat going but just make it a bit harder to fight off."

Zemina looked up, and took one more sip of her cola before setting the empty glass down. "Think about it this way. If this place were attacked right now - this cafe alone, were attacked by monsters. Who would stand the greatest chance? You and I. Would we stand that much of a chance? No, because our magic - out greatest assets, are useless. Now let's say that the barrier wasn't here, and the people who made such a thing decide to go and wipe out all of the monsters. That would be a much greater solution. Therefore the people that have such a vast amount of power can eliminate monsters and threats, while those without power can live freely." Zemina began thinking, and put her hand on her cheek. This truly was an interesting place, but it wasn't interesting in a good aspect. It brought her attention to the worse parts, because she only thought for the people of the town, the poor defenseless people.

Shaking his head a bit at the woman's response. This game was like a tic tac toe. Force a player to move somewhere while limiting their options, it was simple really. In this move, the city blocked one win possibility, forcing the enemies to use another route, while sadly, the city already had a win in place, knowing the enemy would be forced to move somewhere else. Well Already upon observation of the city it was a high technological based city. Nothing was too run down, and the general appearance gave off the vibe it was machine heavy.

"Well you see... its like this. THey force you to use one form of combat, while they already have a form of combat waiting to counter it. No doubt.. the means of nullifying magic is just but their biggest defense, while their offense. Look around... I see some machinery. No doubt that is their defense truly. Not to mention, have you heard...any one person talk to much about it yet? Perhaps we're even in the wrong to speak like this in the open about it. " In truth it was a common militant RTS tactic. Dont let your opponent make the moves they want, by limiting their options and forcing them to play into yours.

"Think about it. Lets say this city becomes the target of the largest dark organization ever. Well.. their magic will be limited so soldiers will be sent in. But most of us are not prepared, we use magic or basic weaponry, while said weaponry's magic is also removed. Except I'm willing to bet... this city has some form of way to allow secret mages to keep their powers while removing others. Or use all the machines I'm always seeing around. A megacity like this? I doubt is standing because it is weak. No... its got to have other reasons."

Zemina wasn't convinced with the explanation that the man gave. If a dark wizard organization attacked this place and someone possessed the extraordinary power to stop them, then the barrier wouldn't be needed.

"Perhaps people don't talk about it because it doesn't bother them. These people luckily haven't had much trouble, and they've adapted to the lifestyle without magic. Therefore people don't really speak of it because it's just normal. It's as if two people were to be saying 'hey, let's talk about why the sun shines.' Sure there is an explanation for it, but who truly talks about such? We are not in the wrong at all... But this leads on to my next thought. What if it's natural? Perhaps there is something around here, like an item buried underground or some sort of radiation that nullifies magic? Maybe that's why they have a lot of advancement in technology, because they have grown in a natural environment without magic, and they have grown accustom to live without it."

Zemina stared outside the window that lay next to the booth, one of her hands resting on the hilt of her sword. This blade is her own legacy, no her families legacy. If any place can completely nullify the godly power that rested in this sword, there was something wrong with that place. Something that Zemina would find out, one way or another.

Nodding his head, Raiza couldn't disagree there either. Perhaps if it was true, something in the area then why wouldn't the magic Counsel hire grunt work to destroy this? A zone without magic could upset balance, a dark wizard with high skill in weaponry could hide here and mean the magic counsel would have no way to assault them at that point. In essence this area was dangerous to mages with no skill in non-magical combat.

A slight shift in his posture, Raiza seemed to be in a deep thought about what Zemina was talking about. It wasn't exactly a false statement, nor a true one. No one could 'know' for sure until they got down to the bottom of it.

"Well, I wonder... if it is natural, why hasn't even the magic counsel done anything? Heck, lets say it is natural. What would we even do about it? You want to get down to the bottom line yourself, right? Well, what are your plans about it?" His words left his lips even trying to figure out himself the entire thing. He at once didn't mind this location, but now, he wondered a lot. Especially since the locals inside this cafe' were just giving awkward looks to them. Perhaps this kind of conversation wasn't meant for with other people near by. At least... of this place.

Though Raiza, noticing this didn't even care, and kept his focus on the woman he was conversing with, and paid attention to her actions, especially her observent attitude and the way she kept hold of the blade she held, as if it was her only means of a defense. It was true, same with Raiza, all he had with his blade but then again he was nothing in comparison to what this woman before him was. "You seem bothered, and you hold the hilt of your blade like you're either scared or determined"

'Zemina glared at the man, this time her fiery eyes able to be seen without her cloak on. A cold stare that gave the impression of a heart of black went Raiza's way, one that could shut up a crying baby. "I am not scared, nor determined. I am curious, as to how my blade's power is nullified. Curious is not always a good feeling, sir." The way her voice exited her mouth made it obvious that Zemina did not like hearing the word "scared" come in her own direction. It was true, she hated it. Every last letter that made up that word was nowhere to be seen near Zemina. She was never scared, but instead of fear she replaced it with courage, because courage is just fear for those who can stand up to what is worth being scared over. Determined wasn't what Zemina thought of herself either, for being determined means that you'll go through any barrier to reach your goal, and Zemina wasn't ready for that. She would stay in this place for a while, but not forever. She can deal with a few days without magic, but during the few days she is here she might find out the source of this magical barrier, if it was even to be called magic. There are magics designed specifically to counter magic, but there was nothing that she knew of that could do such immense range, nor could hold this long. There was no way this was someone doing this, it was something else.

A mellow sigh at the woman's response, his own thoughs trailed to the back of his mind, if he was a demon of any sin, it would be of pride, so he understood this woman, her mind could try to cloud the fear of losing her magic, but to Raiza, he didn't even have magic yet and thus it didn't bother him at all. In fact the entire point of him bringing it up in the first place was just a hypothesis, not the fact he was calling her scared.

Though of course he understood curiosity. Curiosity was what drove him to converse with her. Curiosity was what drove this woman to talk to him. Curiosity took Raiza from his home and put him in this land. This would go on forever for what curiosity itself could or has done. To say its not always a good thing was an obvious statement. Lives in the past were lost due to curiosity such as 'oh, whats this button do', but then we all know the tale of how curiosity killed the cat.

"I understand more than you think" He sighed, standing up, clenching his blade on his side. It was true, he felt like this place wasn't or shouldn't exist truthfully. A place that restricted one's magic, and caged people's powers to be unable to be used. It limited their freedom, and that was something Raiza truly didn't like or remotely even care for. In fact most of his being was against it. The people by now have cleared out and it was only those two and the cafe' shop worker. Sadly but they both ran everyone out with their conversation.

"truth be told. I have no magic. If I do... I dont know what it is or how to unlock it. So this doesn't bother me as much as it does you. All I've got is my sword and thats all I've used for many years" He shrugged, looking out the window, mainly wanting to stretch his legs.

Zemina continued sitting despite him standing up, listening to his response but still looking out the window. "My sword is all I've ever had. Ever. This is the source of my magic, and I live with the knowledge that this sword is the one thing that will be with me until I die. Then it will go to my child if I have any until it finds itself a new person it deems worthy to weild it. This is why I hate this place, because it renders such sacred items, things that have sentimental value to their owners, this place renders them useless. And I am not being selfish, this is to all people, not just myself." Zemina turned her head, seeing him standing and stood up herself.

Zemina walked over to the register, where the man from before stood there shaking in his boots. "Get me another cola, use the funds from the bill i gave you earlier, since you don't know when a person gives you a tip." The man nodded, and hurried to get one for Zemina and set it on the counter, to be taken by the swordswoman as she turned back to the unknown man. "Everyone has magic, just so you know. Everyone has mana, the energy that is used to produce magic. These people here have mana, they just have grown up around others who chose not to pursue their magic, so they don't. If you pursue it enough, you'll find your own magic. Me myself I never tried to learn magic until I was chosen as this sword's commander. That is why I went along the magic road, all you need to do is find your own reason." Zemina took a sip of the cola, actually surprised by how wise that made her sound.

A crooked grin bestowed upon the face of the youth as his thoughts trialed down towards empty magic, the endless possibilities he thought of from all the mmos he played, the various magics that he knew existed. Yet, not any single one of them stuck out as 'his magic', he didn't know which or what'd it be truthfully. Though even if he had no idea, he wasn't far from the truth either.

"Yeah, guess I just gotta get better" he wanted to say he just needed to level up some more, but he knew with this woman, they didn't view the new reality as a game liek he did. Then again, maybe he should put down the controller and pick up a book soon.

Burning?... After trailing down a thought process of putting down the controller his right wrist began to burn slightly, not too bad but it confused him to the point he looked casually as if to check the time or something. A red mark appeared but it was neglect-able. "Look, its obvious this place will only make you upset over time. I'm only here in-between a job before I head back out. Maybe we'll see each other again some time? Unless there is anything else you wish to discuss? If not I need to prepare for my next job "

Though after a pause, Raiza understood the silence and began to head out, walking out of the cafe and turning away from the city's main streets, heading down a few ally-ways.
