    Clashing | Private | Gil & Alexander

I FEEL IT ALL IN THE CENTER OF MY HEART

you're the love of my life

He shuddered against the dank earthy terrain, beads of sweat formed onto his fore-head as his hands clawed through his mane of ebony locks. Laying there with his knees urged against the ground, he knelt forward over the cover of towering ghostly trees, ones that were hesitantly withering away through the minutes that passed. His voice cried out in angst, figure smoked over by a sickly black aura that violently shifted out from his essence like violent winds. It stretched from his body as though it were trying to withdrawal from him entirely, stringing around forest life and only causing it to embrace death farther until it wholly vanished from the earth. He knew when this outburst was over that he'd be minding the slowly dying forest from this corrupted magic just as dark as his own. He knew that, and yet, he didn't want to look up. Feeling weak. Feeling pathetic. It was all boiled up inside him as he continued to let out jittery breaths; ones that were resounding enough to catch the attention of anybody nearby.

But, his instinct told him that nobody would come. I mean, who would want too? Whether it be curiosity, he only understood that not any regular human-being would approach him so carelessly. Especially in a situation such as this.

Lastly the smokey black aura began to extract back into Nai, calmly swaying by rotted trees and lifeless forest animals that had unfortunately been too intrigued from the sounds he had been producing before. The curse sunk inside him like his flesh was liquid, leaving his muscles to repose as he descended onto his side, breathing in relief. Dirt was smudged along his bare stomach, leaving his pale complexion to be brushed over with the moist chocolate brown earth.. Not that he seemed to regard wether he was clean or not. Nothing like that really mattered to him. Being clean. Having loads of money. It was probably the fact he had been crowded by stuff such as that since child-hood. Especially the manners and traditional clothing of royalty. "Heh, stupid.." he said to himself, smirking tiredly as he was reminded of the people he actually liked growing up with. Even though they were all obnoxious princes, they had amused him through his time of being clutched to the castle-grounds.

Kouen.. Kouha.. Koumei.. I wonder how you three are doing.. Have you.. found out the truth? ; Nai wondered about the three crimson haired morons, casually shifting onto his back as he gaped up at the dull grey-toned sky. He didn't want them to discover the truth. He didn't want to be pitied by them. In-fact, he swore he'd never show his face to the three he considered brothers if all they did was feel sorry for him. After all, it was highly annoying for the raven-haired youth. Because of his suffering in the past it was one of the reasons why he didn't rake it to others, for the only reaction was sadness.

It was like any other lazily spent day for the golden haired man. He had awoken late in the morning only to lay around for a few more hours basking in the sun much like how a cat would. Though cats didn't usually bask in the sun with a glass of expensive wine in hand. The red liquid in truth was not his own wine, but rather he had taken numerous bottles of alcohol for himself after exploring the empty castle that Tartarus had claimed. "Who knew the old ghost would have such an extensive collection beneath the castle?" He swirled the liquid about in the glass. Truth be told Lyserg hadn't given him any sort of permission to go scavenging about the castle but why would a man such as himself need any sort of permission? Besides the wine was to good to pass up for the border line alcoholic.

Under normal circumstanced Gil held his liquor better than the average man but this was a rare exception. The vintage was exquisite, the wine having aged for god knows how long in the crypts beneath Tartarus. Which basically meant that the wine was more potent than initially anticipated causing the blonde to be more than a little buzzed especially after hours of sipping at the crimson liquid. Gil would have been more than content drinking his wine, half-asleep on the cushioned window seat where he could gaze out at the wasteland that surrounded Tartarus, but it would seem fate would not allow him to drink another day to waste. "Hmmmm?" Half-drunk and half-asleep the mage was lazily peering out his window and at first did not believe what he saw. However, as minutes went by and the sudden decay of a portion of the forest outside of the walls of the kingdom grew, Gil knew he was not imagining things. Any sensible person would steer clear of whatever was causing such destruction but Gil wasn't exactly sensible. He was a man who feared nothing and was more curious than cat, a deadly combination of traits.

    ~*~

    "Oh what have we here?"

His voice was demeaning as usual, arrogance as thick as ever, and of course his standard smug look was plastered on his handsome face. The golden haired man had rushed to the spot in which he had spotted from his room only to find a familiar face where the decay was, no doubt this person was the cause of it. Leaning against one of the dead tree's Gil couldn't help but smirk, his crimson eyes burning holes into the raven-haired man. "You don't look so good." The statement didn't sound worried in the slightest as most guildmates would be if they had stumbled upon this scene. No, he was clearly mocking the raven-haired youth, something about Nai bringing out the worst in Gil. "I've always been curious as to what you can do....I have to say...." He paused, "I'm disappointed." He gave a mocking grin, showing his sharp animal like canines. While Gil was mean normally, even more so to Nai, under the effects of alcohol he was downright unpredictable. He could be anywhere from purring a kitten to a roaring lion in a matter of seconds and unfortunately for Nai, Gil was becoming dangerously close to the latter of the two.

Still relatively new to the area, exploration was a constant for Alexander as of late. Hours upon hours were lost to traversing both the castle and area around it. He had spoken little to any words to his "guildmates", and wondered if there were some who didn't even know his existence. He was quite good at hiding in the background. The time would come to examine them in detail, for now he first had to make sure his grasp of the surroundings was good. Maybe he'd talk to them in a few months or so. He knew the effects he was having on the environment would be great; his desecration knew no end. But, the trail would heal over time. Still, anyone looking for him would not struggle so long as they followed the trail of paled earth beneath him. 'Even here, the earth still rejects me...'

While he ha grown used to the nature of his existence long ago, he'd be lying if he didn't still somewhat hope for a place where he wasn't constantly reminded of it. One of the few emotions still clinging to the husk of a man he was one for acceptance; truly the hardest of human nature to push away. He knew that these thoughts would be a hindrance to his work, even know just this small mental reprieve had costed him moments of attention that likely lost a fair amount of details about the land around him to the sands of time. He'd have to retrace his path again later on. Forcing such trival matters aside for now, he continued mentally documenting every detail he could gather about the forest. He was sure it'd serve him well later.

It was at this moment that he felt it. A burst of power, or rather a powerful change. While he couldn't place the feeling exactly, he knew something had happened. It felt similar to his own condition, yet much more powerful and sudden. This was the first time in a long while that Alexander felt confusion about something, and he loved it. This was where knowledge came from. Making his way towards the disturbance, he made note of the now withered ground, with definite knowledge that he had not caused this. Noticing the frail outlines of figures ahead, he concealed himself against the nearby trees for the time being. He wasn't exactly ready to affect the scene yet, and would much rather watch and decipher what he could without direct interference first. He recognized the two figures as members of the guild, but knew not their names. He felt fairly certain they'd know little of him as well. Stalking the pair silently, he watched for every single detail of the scene. It seemed he'd encountered his first natural experiment in his new home.

I FEEL IT ALL IN THE CENTER OF MY HEART

you're the love of my life

That voice. That familiar egoistic voice that called out to him in the lifeless patch of ghostly forest. His tone danced with amusement, and Nai lowered his attention from the grey toned sky and toward the presence of Gil, urging himself up onto his rear. Red irises returned the heated gaze of another similar pair, and his face was relaxed into a rather neutral expression, eyes exposing most irriation he held at this very moment. "Blondie," he paused, taking his time in standing onto his feet. A shadow cloaked over his crimson pools, causing them to glow gingerly over his unorganized ebony locks as he gaped seriously over at him once more. "Do you really think I care?" a crude tone dripped from his words, much like venom; and that regular childish grin pulled onto his lips as he neared the taller male by a few steps, "For somebody who is so into himself you seem to be rather faint in the head if you think following an aura of death is such a smart idea." he insulted, one dirtied hand settled on his hip, adding more mud to his already unkept bare stomach. His complexion looked like snow. It was so white in the dull and darkened colours outside that he could've been considered a doll.

As he took a few impending steps closer, the scent of alcohol hit his nose causing his brows to furrow in resentment as he shifted back slightly. "...And you're drunk too. No wonder you're acting so stupid." his words came out in a low mumble, posture slightly pulled together as he leaned back up, narrowing his oddly ringed irises at the blonde-haired man. "Go home blondie, I'd rather waste my time with a rat than play around with you." one again, an insult slipped abruptly from his mind and rolled off his tongue. It was as if he were asking for trouble. Not that he minded a good battle. In-fact, Nai spent most of his time looking for brawls rather than trying to avoid them. It got his heart racing, his magic flying. More than that, he just itched to watch others struggle before him, or to struggle and even learn for himself... Although, Nai could sense Gil was just a level higher than he currently was, intriguing him each time he watched the ivory fluctuating particles dance around him. Hmm, but right now I just feel like sleeping.. ; he thought to himself, loathing the feeling of mud smeared against his barren flesh and how his eyelids seemed to be urging to close just on their own.

Cat like crimson irises never left the man as Nai got to his feet, taking his time, and more importantly taking Gil's time. The audacious smirk never left his features though annoyance was like a thick cloud that hung over his very being, a vein threatening to pop any moment. The word blondie only served as fuel to his ever growing fire, along with every other word that spilled from Nai's lips. "Of course you care, how could you not?" His own retort was just as vicious if not more so, his smirk of arrogance turning into a mocking grin to match Nai's own childish one. While the insult stung the man, it did not push him over the edge instead he was quick to banter back. "Ha the mongrel is trying to call me stupid! We'll see who the stupid one is!" Gil took a step forward, chin held high in arrogance, "Oh this is supposed to be your silly idea of death? I couldn't tell. Besides how could I not come and make sure my oh, so precious treasure was okay or not? I would hate if anything were to happen to you."

Just as the two were toe to toe, Nai withdrew back and his statement made the blonde frown. "I am most certainly not drunk nor am I stupid!" The man growled out in reply, irises narrowing into slits with his growing anger. Perhaps his greatest fault was his inability to realize his own faults. Gil was by no means a man who started brawls, it was against his very nature to lower himself to an animal like level of fighting for dominance, or rather he did a very good job at suppressing his own roots to assert dominance through violence and instead preferred to do so through others means . Yet Nai brought out the worst in him, whether it was because the raven haired man had a resemblance to someone Gil would rather forget about, or their personalities were simply too similar, or perhaps it was even fate that the two would clash more often than not. None the less, all that mattered was that at Nai's words, the blonde snapped. "RATS!?" His voice nearly cracked, arms crossing over his chest, "You'd rather spend time with rats than bask in my glorious presence!?" His eyes were like burning pools of lava as he stamped towards Nai, "I ought to teach you a thing or two about respect! I've had enough of your antics!" He would not stand for a mud-covered man thinking that Gil was lower than that of a rat, once again it was hard to say if Gil would have this reaction with anybody or simply if it was just because it was Nai who said it. Through the deadly combination of alcohol and his own burning need to be acknowledged or even worshiped especially by a man who was beginning to look less like Nai and more like a certain someone  in his drunken vision, Gil lost what little control he had. "I command-" His magic was visibly fluctuating in preparation to summon a creature of his choice.
