Liberation of Slaves (team Whimsical nightshade)

Thorn smiled softly as she turned a corner as she noticed Perry coming up behind her. It was a surprise that the Parasite queen had come to her side instead of staying with Sinali. Thorn was almost touched by the sentiment but she noticed the new foes coming and smirked softly. Her mind raced with ideas. She leaned her hand on the side the soft dieing echoes of the wood spoke of where the captain was but their soul was fading. The slavers would pay for what they had done to her kin.

When Perry spoke to her Thorn raised an eyebrow in confusion she had never come across a speaking insect like creature ”You can speak?............ eh help yourself, just don't die Sinali would torture me for the rest of my life!” she stated knowing Perry could handle herself easily against all of the foes but she needed to say it just in case. Thorn gripped her staff and jumped forward quickly catching one by surprise she brought the staff down as she did and made it collide with his head. He was not dead not yet anyway but he was out of the fight for a while. Thorn glanced at the remaining slavers as they attacked. Using her staff she blocked the first pushing him back into the other foes causing them all to lose balance. This was what she wanted as they lost balance she smiled using a small amount of magic she concentrated on her staff making it form a root. Thorn made the root shoot forward piercing one of the weaker slavers and a slightly stronger one through the chest and swang them side to side crushing them in to both walls over and over with pleasure. At the same time Thorn used the two screwed slavers to take down at another two weak ones by smashing into them as they went side to side. When Thorn was certain she had finished them off she released the two from her root. What Thorn had not realized is that the first one she had fought had gotten up a lot quicker than expected and attempted to slash her in the back three times. If he was successful then it would cause intense pain to radiate through her body.

Perry decided, briefly, to watch how Thorn dealt with these seven opponents. Her actions were quite impressive and she used her magic quite effectively. It seemed though that she relied heavily on her staff. Perhaps because it was used for her best spell. Perry would have to let Sinali know so that she could help Thorn develop a more varied fighting style. Still, it was a new use for the Birch ability and was quite effective. However, it had left her open and the man she thought she had knocked unconcious went for an attack from behind.

"I don't think ssssssoooo" the insect hissed biting into his neck and stabbing in his legs. The man gurgled in pain and fell to his knees before the insect detached herself and looked about. There were now only two opponents left. Something that Thorn should easily be able to deal with. "End them Thorrrrnnnnn"

Sinali on the other hand was in the air her Growler at the ready. Unfortunately, due to the over-rev ability she had used it was not possible for her to use the chainsaw of Growler effectively. Her most powerful spells were also not able to be used. Not until she somehow reversed whatever was sealing away her magic. She flew down like a thunder bolt from above activating a C rank spell known as Armed and Ready. This gave her two extra arms. The two blades hit another water barrier slicing through it, but not enough for her to get through. Thats what the other two arms were for. They broke through the barrier and she came crashing down on the man sending him through the deck. He coughed up some blood, but punched her hard and sent her flying backwards.

"Its not over yet." he spat firing off a series of water blades at her. Using her sword and chainsaw gun she tried to cut through them, but wasn't fast enough when she was slightly dazed from the blow. Several of the water blades sliced her and she was pushed back further. The extra two lacrima had really given this guy a powerful boost. She was actually struggling a little bit. "You're gonna make one hell of a slave once I got you in irons." He said and made a gesture causing the puddles of water around Sinali to form into chains and shackles which began to bind the undead girl.

"I was a slave once. NEVER AGAIN!" she hissed and with a roar of power she broke free of the shackles causing the man to step back. She charged forward  with all her might and broke through the half formed barrier he tried to raise and headbutted him again sending him flying. Before he had a chance to recover she had leapt on him and impaled him through the chest. "NEVER AGAIN!"

Thorn smiled softly looking at Perry ”thank you!” she said softly looking at the remaining slavers ”I wonder how Sinali would deal with these people?” She asked a wide grin across her face the thought was some what entertaining thorn thrust her root forward stabbing the remaining two in the chest she smiled and walked off down the hall.

As thorn turned yet another corner and stopped as she came across five more week slavers and two normal slavers she smirked as they ran towards her there swords raised up using her root like a whip she brought it around striking two of the week slavers in the head knocking them unconscious she them shot thorns from each of her hands aiming them at the two normal slavers weakening them slightly as she done a turn to whip another slaver one ducked under her root and slashed her torso coursing pain to irradiate through her body thorn swore and backed up slightly holding onto her chest stopping the bleeding from becoming out of control she glanced at the person that had slashed her ”your dear!” she started thrusting a root forward stabbing him through the chest then she thrust the root side to side smashing into the other slavers only missing one of the normal strength men he managed to jump backwards avoiding her root and surviving the attack

thorns breathing had got heavier and her body aced from the fighting she had been doing thorn stepped forward her root turned back into her staff until she needed it again the plain for not using magic until meeting the captain had not gone as well as she had hoped being forced to use her root had annoyed thorn slightly and she was going to take it out on the man in front of her she hoped to have a bit of fun before anyone interrupted.

Thorn ran forward bringing her staff around thorn went for a strike but the slaver blocked her chipping a bit of the staff away her eyes darkened  ”that's my friend! You will pay!” she said through gritted teeth bringing her leg up and kicked him in the stomach coursing him to stumbled backwards but he kept his balance but before the slaver could recover completely thorn brought her staff down  onto his head over and over until she was certain he was dead and gone for good.[/color]

Thorn was in difficulties at least in terms of numbers, but Perry was confident in her abilities. The use of the poisonous thorns to weaken the stronger opponents was wise. It was very clever. Thorn was quite skilled in combat. She was a tad more strategic than Sinali who relied a lot on her brute strength. It was this skill and a bit of anger that allowed her to bring down her opponents entirely. Quite excellent. Perry didn't even have to intervene this time. "Excellent Thorn...you are growing like....a weed" the insect chattered twirling about the woman her legs caressing the warm skin of the plant.

The problem with such a large ship filled with so many slaves was that there were also a lot of slavers. The result of this now became apparent for Sinali as a full eleven more slavers came up onto deck to see what the commotion was about. "So your the one wrecking the captain's plans." one of the normal slavers said.

"Captain said to destroy her.." one of the weak ones said. He glanced around and upon seeing the dead veteran slavers his face paled. "...shit...she took down two of the mates." The weak ones all looked at each other and then leapt overboard leaving Sinali with just six. An easy amount of enemies for her to deal with. Though perhaps she wouldn't need to deal with them at all. Perhaps she could scare them away like she had those. She just needed a good enough display of force.

"Cowards all of them..." the first slaver said.

"Then again...the mates...and the others..." another said nervously.

"You're scared of a little girl?" the first said in response. "And do you believe she did this all alone?"

"Tick tock tick tock" Sinali said an evil grin on her face sword in one hand and saw gun in the other. "The clock struck one. The fun begun. Hickery dickory dock." Sinali said lunging forward shooting the speaker in the head with both shots killing him. With a swing of her arm Mr. Snakey shot out stabbing one of the men in the head killing him too. "Still not believe it was me?" The remaining three let out a shriek and ran leaping overboard.  "Good boys."

Thorn breathed in deeply for a moment catching her breath. The battles so far had been quite tiring. Once she had caught it she would be off "well this is exhausting got any water?" she asked looking at Perry knowing she would not but was making ideal chit chat as she wondered what power lays within him thats when she heard foot steps coming from in front of her she had been to noisy it had attracted attention and it was bad when thorn looked up she instantly sore the lacrima around one of the mans neck she wondered in her head if thorn managed to brake it would the power go it was something she was going to test "well never mind we are going to become very bUzy! she stated softly

Gripping her staff 'friend' and she smiled softly getting into a defensive stance ready for yet another fight ahead "powerful little witch ant ya well i will take you in i will destroy that spirit and have you use that magic against that little friend of yours!" the strong slaver stated his hand stroked the lacrima on his neck his smile was eval and conniving he raised his hand sending two of the weaker slavers forward their swords raised as they rushed forward thorn rased up her staff bloocking the first but the other managed to redirect his sword aiming it towords her chest thorn was ready to take the blow hoping it did not slash to deeply.

'Monster Dice' :

Few slavers would dare to deal with her now. Only the veterans. The others she saw as she walked about ran like the cowards they were. A group of fifteen weak enemies leapt out hoping that it was the other one, but as soon as they saw the young, winged four armed girl with the evil smile and blood stained weapons they ran like cowards and leapt over the sides of the ship. It was pathetic really. They were no match for her. There couldn't be that many aboard the ship now. It was then that Perry contacted her telepathically stating that a water mage was attacking Thorn with four of the stronger slavers. Her powers hadn't recovered yet so Perry herself was no match. The only one who stood a chance was Sinali.

She focused homing in on the magical signatures of Thorn and Perry, which she knew well. She grinned and flew up into the air and spoke to Perry requesting the rough distance between Thorn and the water mage. It was then she flew downwards spinning using both sword and sawgun as a the tip of a human spear. She furled in her wings and prepared herself for impact.

Shortly before this a blade was launced at Thorn's chest. She was unable to block it and Perry was not able to intercept it. However, she bit into the man's leg causing him to jerk slightly reducing the strength of the blow and causing it to be much shallower.

CRASH.

That was the sound of Sinali coming crashing through the ceiling like the spear of the gods. She hit the water mage dead on and drilled him through one of the decks. The blow wasn't enough to kill him unfortunately as he managed to throw up a water barrier at the last second. However, it was powerful enough to do some major damage. She leapt off the man and grinned as the two extra arms disappeared. "A third playmate. How thoughtful of Captain Scarlet." The water mage grinned a bit of blood dripping from his wounds. He wasn't dead yet. Quite amazing. His lacrima began to glow and to her surprise turning red. What was he planning?

Thorn cursed loudly gripping the slavers wrist that held the sword tightly and bending it backwards until she heard it snapping. The slaver cried out in total agony as he felt his arm break. Thorn quickly paced her staff on her back and grabbed the sword off the slaver stabbing him in the heart killing him out right. This satisfied Thorn then she threw the sword at the second slaver that had attacked. The throw was good and it went straight into his stomach. He was heavily wounded from the blow but he was not dead. However, he was retreating with the blade still in him. Thorn smiled evilly. This was becoming fun but it soon ended as the remaining men decided to retreat waiting for back up. Thorn jumped through the hole that Sinali had made through the floor landing next to the slaver with lacrima. Using a spell she made her nails in to wooden claws stabbing him in the chest causing some poison to go into his body. As he was already weakened by the drop she hoped this would stop him from doing any significant damage with his magic. Thorn then jumped back smiling at Sinali "Need a hand?" she said jokingly lifting her hand to show the wooden claws in place for her nails

Thorn smiled softly then looked back at the slaver and cursed softly as she heard a voice behind her. "Well lads are these it? Are these the two people that have given so much trouble? They look like nothing get ride of them now!" the last word came as a shout from captain Scarlet. It seemed the ruckus had finally drawn out the Captain. A second figure stood next to him, likely the first mate. So both of the targets were finally here. It also seemed that she had brought friends. Another ten of the weaker slavers and two more of the slightly stronger ones. With the captain here they were unlikely to retreat.

Damn. Things had gotten tricky. Not only was this veteran pulling out some new trick but the two targets had arrived. Sinali barely had time to react as suddenly the first mate came charging down at her at around 100mph aiming to strike at her. She manage. d to just turn around and get her own blades in the way to block his strick, but the force was insane and sent her flying backwards into the veteran slaver. The blow was so fast it shattered the lacrima around his neck and cancelled out whatever spell that he was trying to cast. However, there was also a huge explosion that sent Sinali flying upwards and onto the deck of the ship. Fortunately, she'd gone through the holes she made earlier so she didn't get too much damage, well except from the explosion.

What's more it had also taken out the veteran slaver, which was very fortunate. Still, she was a bit out of it from the damage she'd taken. It didn't help when the Captain jumped up guns at the ready and shot six magical shots at her. The six shots sent her flying backwards. "You got strength kid. You'll make a good slave." Sinali stared for a moment and then tore her top a big revealing the slave brand. "An escapee? How rare and how lucky I am. Returning an escapee is triple and one like you...well I can probably buy me another ship."

Sinali took aim with her chainsaw gun. "You ain't lucky. What you just did broke whatever was stopping my magic." Sinali said with a dark grin her eye opening fully. "Now how about I show you my true power?" The captain raised her eye.

"True power? I'd love to see that." the Captain said. "How about you Carver?" She asked as the first mate jumped out swords at the ready. Seemed they both were going to attack her. It seemed that they were leaving Thorn to the 10 weak and 5 normal slavers that were still down there.

Thorn smiled softly watching Sinali get flung through the roof that was not the best plane on the slavers side they were in a world of pain not and thorn doubted that the slavers would win against Sinali. She on the other hand was up against ten weak slavers and five normal slavers this was going to be tricky but thorn lowered herself taking a sword from one of the fallen slavers she then started to exhale smog making the slavers start to choke their vision turned to nothing.

Thorn chose this time to strike. Her new found weapon in hand she sneaked down the hall slashing the slavers throats as she passed. Her smile widened as she grabbed a slaver stifling him with her hand and taking him to the edge of the smog throwing him out "have a present Perry!" she stated before disappearing once again going for more slavers she had taken three out already and there chokes where satisfying

Hiding in the smog was some what satisfying her foot work needed improving the slavers heard her coming and swung there swords blindly hoping to hit thorn before she got them but they did not know that thorn could see clearly enabling her to dodge the weapons easily enough but thorn was finding it difficult to strike with them waling around with not a care this is when thorn got an amazing idea using herself she moved in between two slavers "Boo" she shouted the word then moved quickly as the slavers jumped and stabbed each other this idea might work after all Thorn thought to herself with satisfaction.

Perry hovered at the edge of the smog. In her current form the poison was too strong for her to handle and her eyes would not be able to penetrate the dense smog. However, it seemed Thorn required some assistance as she tossed one of the men out to Perry. The insectoid parasite queen grinned and launched herself at the man tearing into his warm flesh drinking the blood. The man had barely had a chance to react before he was defeated. An easy victory for the insect. On top of that the energy she had gained from devouring the man's flesh had revived her magic enough that soon she would be able to assume her true form and be of greater use to her two allies.

Sinali on the other hand was also ready to use her true power to defeat these opponents. The issue of course was not defeating them, but it was defeating them without hurting them fatally. There was also of course the fact that one of the opponents was incredibly fast which was the one thing Sinali lacked. With the way things were set out it would be easy for the pair to take her down. The first mate could hold her off with her speed whilst the captain took her out with her ranged attacks. In order to be victorious she needed to either disarm the captain or take out the first mate. That or even up the odds a bit.

"One Plus One." Sinali said and next to her formed up a second Sinali. The captain raised an eyebrow and then chuckled.

"Is that all you've got? You think two of you is enough to bring down the invincible Captain Scarlet?" The real Sinali tossed the blade Mr.Snakey to her double and then the two charged. The captain raised her guns and let out a rapid series of shots. Sinali grinned and let off two of her own shots. Now with her power at full the bullets from Growler were back at full strength and were enough to overpower the six shots and bring them down. The first mate lunged from the side going for Sinali, but her double intercepted the blow coming from the side itself tackling him to the ground. The blow wasn't quite enough to bring them down. However, it was enough to slow him down a little at least and give Sinali a chance to get closer to the tougher of the two targets.

Thorn smiled softly as she had crouched low dodging and weaving avoiding the wide swinging of swords. thorn blocked what she could not dodge she used her staff to defensively. The slavers thought even though they could not see her they would try and injure thorn anyway with the wild swings but they just slashed and cut each other even stabbing happened they had taken themselves out with no help from thorn this continued until there was just one person left. It was the normal slavers he was chocking on the poisons smog struggling for breath spluttering words that made no seance as they where in a language that thorn had never heard before let alone able to understand. thorn went to the edge of the smog to Perry smiling softly "could I request a lift?" she asked indicating to the hole that Sinali made when she came to help out she had been blasted back through the hole before any significant damage was dealt by her but she had taken the first mate and the captain on alown thorn wondered how Sinali was copping with the two strongest people on this ship other than herself and Perry.

Thorn looked back at Perry realizing she had been absent minded for a few moments "sorry! so doing to give a girl a hand?" she asked softly looking at Perry hoping she would help thorn out rather than just going by herself coursing thorn to go the long way round witch would take longer than thorn would like.

Perry looked at Thorn quizzically and then considered the situation going on upstairs. Perhaps Thorn's assistance would turn things further in their favour. She had proven herself to be quite powerful. Well, not so powerful, but more very resourceful and quite talented. She had a lot of potential. "In this form no." the insectoid said and began glowing brightly before assuming her full parasitic empress form. With that the parasite empress grabbed hold of Thorn in her large claws. Strangely, the grab was almost gentle and didn't cut into Thorn at all. The gigantic insect erupted from the floor causing the Captain to stumble slightly. Sinali had been prepared for it and so had leapt at the right moment so as not to be effected and instead tackled the Captain through the hole.

"Finish the first mate. Keep them alive." Sinali shouted as the two fell smashing through several floors.

"Keep us alive? Wait...you're gonna hand us over to the rune knights...a savage skull mage?" the captain said fear now edging her tone. "No...I won't go to the noose. GET OFF OF ME." The woman shouted kicking Sinali off and aiming her gun. Sinali didn't have time to react this time and got a full barrage of bullets to the chest. The damage she had received was quite extensive, but not quite enough to bring her down.

"That gun...is annoying." Sinali said and her tongue rapidly extended and formed spike protrusions causing the captain to back away and prepare some more shots. Before she had a chance though the tongue split into three. Two bound her wrists cracking them and disarming her. The other tongue wrapped around her waist and lifted her up. "Game overrrrr." Sinali

The clone of Sinali was suddenly sent flying by a powerful double punch from the first mate. It was pretty powerful punch. The guy might seem frail in build, but be packed a wallop.

Thorn smirked her body relaxed in flight the gentleness off Perry's touch had stunned thorn to begin with but it made sence well sort of Perry was connected to Sinali and she had said in the past Thorn was her pet project whatever that ment this is why thorn thought Perry was being genital not wanting to damage Sinali's play thing. The shout from Sinali startled Thorn back into reality the task at hand was a challenging one but if thorn could think of something that would help. Thorn thought for a moment then figured it out if they could slow the first mate then she could capture him with her birch this would be a difficult thing to do but one captured they could make the first mate un-contuse

Because of the tenderness Perry had griped thorn with she was able to wiggle herself free and start to full to the ships deck she had no time to explain herself to Perry and wished she would forgive her for her sudden escape but they where not far from the floor so no significant damage was done to thorn when she tumbled to the floor.

Thorn ran as quick as she could to the Sinali that had stayed behind from guessing she was the clown The real Sinali would not take orders not even from a copy of herself. Thorn stopped beside her comrade "any idea's? she asked uncerturn if the clown could speak but if she could that would be helpful as thorn only had one idea and it was a dumb one.

The clone was capable of speech, but said nothing for the time being. It was observing how the first mate would react. It had suffered some pretty heavy damage from the blows and unlike Sinali it could quite easily be destroyed. There were three targets that the first mate could go for. He could go for Thorn, the weakest of the group, and bring her down. Thorn likely wouldn't be taken out in one hit, but he could knock her overboard thus removing her from the fight till she got back. He could go for the clone who was technically the strongest opponent in terms of magic and raw power, though not quite as strong as the real thing. Plus with the damage she'd received she might be able to be taken out, though hopefully he wouldn't work that out. The third target was Perry who was hovering just behind them.

It seemed though that he'd chosen a fourth option she hadn't expected and came charging in. His speed was reduced a little from the damage she'd done, but not enough to slow him entirely. He ran with his two cutlasses to the side going for an attack on both Thorn and the clone at the same time. A wise move as he could essentially heavily damage them both at once. Sadly for him the clone didn't care for its well being. As he ran past she turned on the spot and struck at the back of the head with a punch. This of course meant that the blade went straight through her bifurcating her entirely, but the blow was enough to do some heavy damage and bring him into the waiting grasp of the large insect in a dazed state. Enough for the insectoid to grab him in such a way that he could not move, but would also not be killed or damaged.

The top half of the clone slowly slid off the bottom half in traditional anime samurai style. The bottom half fell to its knees and the clone grinned before vanishing into nothingness.

"Take him out Thooorrrnnn" the insectoid hissed. "Unconsciousness is hard for me to do."

It was then that Sinali emerged holding the captain who had also been rendered unconcious. Not through a physical blow, but through bloodloss. The more the captain had struggled the worse the spikes had dug into her. She was now quite badly injured, but not fatally. Sinali dumped the captain on the deck and using cloth from around her began to bind the wounds to stop her bleeding out entirely. It was also used to bind her.

"Good job today Berry." Sinali said with a smile. "Now all we have to do is take them to the rune knights...but not before I get some information from this one."

Thorn followed the Sinali clones vision. She was watching the first mate. Of course he could not just idly stand by as they took him in. Thorn watched him race forward with a sudden burst of speed. It all seemed to be in slow motion as if she was watching it as a memory to show her where she could of done things differently but Thorn knew it was part of her mental defence. A mere figment of her imagination.

Thorn tensed her hand raised behind her at the last moment concentrated and made the wooden boat bend she was using it like she would a root from a tree.  It was only a small section her power over wood was that good, not yet anyway. One day she was determined to break a boat in one shot. She doubted she could ever get that powerful but it was a good place to aim for.  She watched intensely. The first mate wanted to hurt her so at the moment he would arrive Thorn shot back being tugged backwards by the root replacement. It wasn't quick enough though. The sword in the first mates hand had cut her. Fortunately, it was deep but not fatal If she had done nothing she doubted she would of survived.

Thorn then limped forward a hand grasped where the sword had slashed her the blood not being stemmed. She got in close to the first mate she then elbowed him hard in the face making him unconscious.

At Sinali's words she just nodded concentrating on trying to stem the bleeding coming from the deep wound.

Thorn, or Berry as Sinali liked to call her, had done her job well. The entire battle had been relayed to Sinali by Perry and to be honest the young psychopathic self-proclaimed undead queen zombie child was quite impressed. Perhaps her apprentice deserved a second present. Or perhaps she should wait until Thorn increased in strength. Then she could improved Friend and perhaps prepare something else. Yes, that seemed ideal. As Sinali walked over to Thorn she activated her one healing spell in order to stitch her own flesh together a little whilst considering Thorn's wounds. They were likely quite painful and if not treated potentially scarring and fatal. Sinali would have to deal with them properly when they got back to the guild. A fitting reward for her apprentice's success. Instead she used her knowledge of the human anatomy and some cloth taken from pirates around the ship to bind the most major of the wounds.

The mission was over and now the two just had to go and hand in those two criminals and get the reward. Sinali made a mental note as she walked, carrying the two bound and unconscious prisoners as she did so. It would be wise to invest in some spells to slow down fast opponents and also some healing spells of some kind to use on potential allies. Of course, they would all die eventually, but it would be annoying to have to keep replacing useful tools.

Eventually, the prisoners were dropped off and were quite a lot more injured then they had been when Sinali initially carried them off the boat. She had tortured them both brutally to extract more information about the group they worked for. A lot of the information was mostly rumour, but she got a few locations and a name that sounded important and familiar. Tarot.

Sinali had dropped the prisoners off disguised as a more reputable mage and instructed both Thorn and Perry to stay hidden. However, when the prisoners eventually awoke they gibbered about a young girl and whenever they saw a child after that they had panic attacks. It seemed Sinali had left a lasting impression on their minds. She'd also left an important one on their bodies by branding one of their eyes using the same brand they used to mark slaves.

Vengeance was sweet.
