As a precaution, Arcadia reached deep and refracted the light around her, bending it to make herself appear about five meters to the left of where truly was. She approached the door, opening it for her refracted image to walk through ahead of her. The slayer closed to within a couple meters of her image to keep her voice from giving her real location away as easily.
Her imaged looked around as she did, deep green eyes taking in the unfolding scene she found around the banquet hall. There was an obviously upset woman with a crowd of party goers gathered around her. She didn't see the chief of security or any of the other guards yet. That meant pushing past her phobia and discomfort around crowds yet again. These people would look to her to make sure things stayed clam and secure. Whatever this was, she could do it.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, her concern for the woman giving her the courage she needed. Arcadia trotted over, and waved for the other party goers to give the woman some space. ”I'm Arcadia Fairchilde of Fairy Tail. The Frost Maiden of Dragnof. I'm one of the wizards the Oak Inn hired for security. Everyone please back away. Give the woman some room. Are you okkay, Ma'am? What happened in here?”
The crowd did back away a few steps, but they did so with murmurs of all kinds.
Man #3: “Is she alright?”
Woman #7: “Adorable doesn't equal us being safe.
Woman #4: “No, no. She's one of Fairy Tail's dragon slayers. The blonde one... but I thought her name was Alvea?”
Arcadia sighed and glanced to the murmuring crowd, ”Althea. You're thinking of Althea Eventide. I'm Arcadia. We're both dragon slayers. Thea isn't here tonight. Now please, everyone quiet down.”
The woman who screamed was calming down somewhat now, and she glanced angrily to Arcadia, “Is that supposed to make me..us feel better? Security huh? Then how did someone get murdered...for REAL back there in the bathroom?! I opened the door and the man I saw go in a few minutes before was dead on the floor! That's a real body with real blood on the floor!”
A collect gasp of disbelief went out through the party goers. The murmur volume climbed instantly as everyone talked with their neighbor until there was one shout over the sudden din.
Man #9: “It's true! It's Marco Wrenfield!”
The woman's accusations struck deep to Arcadia young heart. If there really was someone murdered under her watch, then she failed at her job. She and her refracted image jogged on over toward the banquet room's one bathroom. The door was open, so she could see the victim before she got there. She knelt down to make sure he wasn't still breathing. Sadly, he was indeed dead. From what Arcadia could see, the man had been stabbed to death. There was no sign of the murder weapon or weapons, and she found it hard to believe anyone could have snuck a blade past their security checks, or all the people out in the banquet hall. The crowd kept on murmuring through their myriad conversations.
Woman #1: “It couldn't be any of us. We all went through those security screenings.”
Man #8: “I bet itw as one thse extra wizards they hired. They wouldn't need to sneak in any weapons or they could even use their magic to sneak one in! Plus they were in charge of those checks.”
Man #2:I bet it was this dragon slayer here! Don't let her adorable appearance fool you. Any dragon slayer is nothing to sneeze at. Plus she is the one and only member of security here.”
Woman #4: “Dragon slayers have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. I hear some of them can even travel in the shadows!”
Arcadia stood and held up her hands, trying to win back the ground before it got out of hand. “Please! Please! Please! People! Let's not get ridiculous. I can't walk in the shadows and I was on the other side of the inn when I heard your scream.”
It was too late though, the crowd was already past the tipping point, and was out for blood. It was everything Arcadia might fear from any crowd of people. She didn't want to hurt any of them. These were the people she was supposed to be protecting, and attacking any of them would only reinforce their fear.
Digging into her magic power, she extended the power of shadow onto the memory of everyone within one hundred thirty-five meters. A shadow that would temporarily hide their memory of the young slayer. That was enough to wipe herself from the memory of everyone in the banquet hall for a short while.
Arcadia hurried out of the banquet room while the getting was good. She needed to find one of the other hired mages, usual guards or preferably the chief of security.

Her name is known for many things, such as being such a talented musician and dancer, but her love and powerful assistance shines the brightest.
The ☆ bullet points are links. In addition, these threads are not in a particular order, as some are threads I had to dig for. o/
☆ Passports of Sand and Song (Job ☆ D): After joining the second guild she had ever been in within her lifetime, Desirée found herself walking among the docks of Rose Garden in order to get exercise before taking a rather difficult job. However, she found herself in a long line for what she eventually found out was a passport to travel to foreign lands easily and legally; as she had not had the chance to get a new passport since her idol agency passport expired, she decided it would be a good time to get a new and updated passport, and eventually was able to get one.
☆ Cheeks with Rosy Hues (Job ☆ D): The first job the young idol ever formally took upon being in the guild of roses, Desirée was tasked to make a small trip from Rose Garden to Lavanitir in order to pick up a special order of lacrima roses and deliver them safely to the customer that asked her to do. He believed that by stealing the hammer of one of the more successful blacksmiths he would be able to put him out of business. However, Desirée came to save the day; by utilizing her magic to bring the boy to his feet, she was capable of taking the hammer from him and returning it to the rightful owner.

While it was difficult to walk in such heavy armor, the girl finally was successful and was capable of delivering the important information, which made both societies very satisfied.
☆ Mermaids and Colorful Lights (Guild Intro): Passing through the streets of Rose Garden after a performance, Desirée longed for something she had not experienced in an extremely long time: friendship. After reading upon legal guilds, she took her pick of a special one known as Black Rose. Stopping in the Inn, she witnessed a concert of mermaids, multiple waitresses, and a small doll; her biggest accomplishment that day was being welcomed into the guild with open arms.
☆ Bubbles and Vibrant Songs (Guild Intro): Desirée frequently performed for her guild when she was able to, as it was a way to bring money into the funding of various types of things as well as let people get a cute and small concert in their local venue. By performing, she was capable of doing just that, and afterward was capable of welcoming a new and interesting member to their guild with joy.
☆ Stray Cats (Guild Intro): Tending the bar of Black Rose with it being rather late at night, Desirée found herself up with the yokai that were within the ranks. Fixing herself along with those that sat at the bar their drinks, she was able to strike up good conversation with the other powerful aces of the guild and welcome a returning member back after a long time of him not being present, known as Neyvahn.
☆ Flowers within Stars (Guild Intro): Desirée was one who hung out around her second guild hall often; running into many newcomers, a florist named Lester Drynedi was one of them. In stopping her task of waiting tables and sitting down to talk to him, she eventually was able to grace the mark of Black Rose onto his body and welcome him to the guild. Eventually, when Crystal Swan was established, she would bring him with her and name him an ace in the future as well.
☆ Flowing Gowns (Social): Wandering into the Silver Moon Inn outside the sleeping quarters of the Guild Members of Black Rose to fix herself some tea before heading to bed in her friend's room, Desirée wandered upon Charlotte and a mysterious boy which appeared to be looking for clues about an acquaintance that the man had. Luckily, Desirée did know a bit about them, and was willing to share some of her information.
☆ Love in Sweets and Strawberries (Social): Upon becoming good friends with a witch that was in her guild, Desirée invited her over for a sleepover so they could get to know each-other more; with a night of movies, sweets, and fun, they became even closer than the friends they were before. In addition to this, the idol received sad news of a friend passing and was told that her dying wish was for her pet to go to Desirée. Meeting Strawberry and listening to her story, she made a new companion for life.

In her efforts, she succeeded in waiting tables in a kind and respectful manor, putting a smile on each of her customers faces while also settling the workload for her other guild-members.
☆ Models of the Stars (Job ☆ C): Appearing on a modeling show, Desirée's name was capable of being spread even more than how quickly it was being spread by her idol and mage status. By presenting beautiful look after look each week, she eventually won the competition and was crowned the winner of that season. In doing so, she was put into their hall of fame and boosted an even bigger modeling career than she had before, and had her name put into the minds of many across the world that were fans of the show.
☆ Modeling for the Magazines (Job ☆ D || Ongoing): Desirée was one who made frequent appearances in Sorcerer's Weekly, being that she was a celerity mage that was showcased for her beauty and power as an influential being of magical power. Among beautiful platforms of the cloud sea, she was professionally photographed in beautiful scenery of plants and shown to the world with only the best aesthetics and kind words about her magical feats.
☆ Laying in Fields of White (Job ☆ D): Out of a beautiful request, Desirée had decided to take a mission to assist a man in joining his friends in the afterlife. This was a very strange quest for her, considering she never wanted to take a life in her time on this Earth. However, she knew that she had to learn what it was like, as well as using her summons in a duelist nature. She ventured to Oshibana and dueled this man who requested this, and took his life in an honorable match. She prepared his body with a beautiful array of flowers of the setting around him, and tended to a proper funeral.
☆ Cherry Supernova (Job ☆ C): Waking in Rose Garden one morning to return to her guild's hall to eat some quality breakfast, it had appeared that the entire city was developed in Cherry Blossoms! It turned out that a dark mage, one that she had stolen the crown from for Fiore's Next Top Model, was the cause of this to get revenge on her victory. She defended the town from these attacks, defeated the mage, and successfully returned the town to its original state. In doing this, she was noted by many news broadcasts as a defender of the lives that resided in the large city, as well as a powerful mage.
☆ Salads in Beanstalks (Job ☆ D): Embarking on a journey to Beanstalk Village, Desirée knew that this request would be crucial to the success of the farming industry. The produce seemed to come to a halt, which was all because of a dark mage that wanted to inflict terror upon the farming villagers' lives. Therefore, Desirée fought waves of fighting vegetables and eventually defeated the mage responsible for that tragedy, saving the members of the village as well as making her name even more well known as a powerful mage and kind-hearted individual.
☆ Rose Among the Hydra (Event): Being asked by the Magic Council like countless other mages were, Desirée accepted this request to travel to Fat Monsterland and defend the surrounding villages from a spike of monster attacks that had been occurring. There, she met two mages of Infinity Hydra, and began to fight waves upon waves of monster. Their hopes were met with happiness when Desirée slayed the last monster, a Griffin, and they were rewarded with showers of Jewels and positive notice from their Guild Masters and the magic council.
☆ Fishing for Compliments (Job ☆ B): Meeting a new friend and soon-to-be mentor, Jiyu Kazehime, Desirée headed to a town called 'Cedar' to defeat a large fish that had been causing problems to a fisherman there, which he had been spending a large sum of his time trying to catch. In the area, they had fought the fish in a swimmingly-fashion, risking their lives in the process. However, due to their efforts, they would defeat the giant fish and accept their reward, which was praises from the village, many jewels, and a good friendship.
☆ Woods of Muted White (Job ☆ C): Upon finding a notice of a strange portal being in the woods upon the Black Rose guild hall, Desirée decided to accept the quest and bring a friend along for the occasion, one that she had met upon joining the guild: Charlotte. In this quest, they would enter the portal to find a village of terrified and skinny people, begging for them to defeat a monster outside of their village's borders that was slaughtering their food supply. The girls accepted, and their duo of offense and defense would pay off as they slaughtered the Treeguard, saving the village and ending it in a big feast and tons of praises.
☆ Music of the Night (Job ☆ D): Being introduced to the increase in magic-powered technology, Desirée was requested to do a brand deal with the iLac corporation, in which she accepted with open arms. By going and getting her new iLac, which was a beautiful rose gold, she was able to have her name spread in the masses due to being on screens of the Neutral Grounds due to her brand sponsorship and have a useful piece of technology in her possession.
☆ Flurries of White and Plush (Job ☆ A): Invited by her mentor, Jiyu, Desirée embarked on a journey to this snowy region owned by Black Rose in hopes to learn about the region and possibly find out what the true secrets of this land were. Nobody in their guild knew, considering they were the first to ever venture there on this quest, but they would be tested with an immense test of skill in order to prove their worth. What they did not know was that at the end of the journey, they would find that they were being followed by wolves that they would be able to claim as a part of their families and have as companions for a very long time.
☆ Dragons of Idolatry (Job ☆ A): Upon being appointed to make a trip to the Fat Monsterlands by the Magic Council, the Ace of Diamonds was met by a familiar face and one that was not, being of Astrid Foss, the Wizard Saint, and Hikari Inoue, the Rising Star. There, they fought waves upon waves of dragon people that sought destruction, and soon began to worship the idol upon displaying a great magical power that could not be matched with her crystals. It is the reason why some dragon people can be seen walking the streets of Crystalli, and also serving some of the Magic Council upon being hired by them from their new goddess, Desirée Blooms.
☆ Collision of Aurora and Mercury (Job ☆ S): Many months prior to this event, Desirée was made the newest Queen of Aisle Three, a dimension inhabited by Crystals and something that was far more beautiful than what Earthland ever wished it was. Receiving a white dragon slayer lacrima by the previous Queen in a formal duel, as tradition lead them to do in ritual, she wished to become stronger by training with the dragon that produced this lacrima. Known as Sirius, Desirée met the dragon in Terasu and recognized Astrid Foss there as well, wishing for similar training due to the event they both went through before this in regards to the Guild War. In request of the dragon to train, the Guild Master was to fight the Wizard Saint to prove she was worthy of his teachings. While it was a close call, Desirée was defeated, but was seen to prove her valor in battle and eventually learn his ways.
☆ Fireworks to Appease the Mind (Event): By request of the Magic Council, Desirée made her way to Hosenka in order to investigate a strange magical circle that held negative energy inside of it's aura. Upon arriving in Hosenka and meeting another Guild Master and old friend, Gisen Ceostra, they investigated together and found that it began to summon enemies. With grace, the two were able to destroy the threats easily, and make the chaos in the city end after destroying the circle after taking pictures and eliminating every enemy. Causing it to explode with fireworks, the two were able to make the darkness into a beautiful moment, and be recognized by the Magic Council for their skill in magical power and efforts in working together. Afterwards, they established a guild alliance within the spas between Crystal Swan and Lamia Scale, and saved a little girl which could not find her parents.
☆ A Singular Bullet (Social): Like usual, when Desirée was bored and located among Crystalli, she would watch the streets to make sure that everything was perfect in the paradise that she owned along with her guild. Noticing that there was a disturbance by a Savage Skull member on the ship, that of which was hurting her guild mates and bringing havoc onto the ship and it's property; taking her sniper rifle and a single bullet, she was capable of knocking him out in a single shot and detaining him, making her magical power display among many people; three rising stars, a Wizard Saint, and residents of the ship. She was later recognized for her magical power and ultimate skill, and was seen as an extremely smart and powerful Guild Master.
☆ Cutting the Ribbon (Social): One night in Hargeon, Desirée's life changed and her dreams came true. Millions stood in the streets and waited for the ribbon to be cut among the entrance of Crystalli, where she would be called a Guild Master and Crystal Swan would be established. In doing so, bright lights flashed in the sky and something she had planned for so long would finally become a reality, in front of her friends, magic council members, and those wishing to join a new legal Guild. With this, she would vow to be the best Guild Master she could be, and would fight for the good in Fiore and all of Earthland.
☆ Dreams Come True (Guild Intro): Among walking in the streets of Crystalli in an invisible state, she ran into a young dreamer that wished to join Crystal Swan. Welcoming her with kindness and enthusiasm, the girl would later become her mentee as well as a Rising Star. It shows that even accidents can result in the best things on the world; with Rin joining the Guild and becoming her mentee, she felt just as how her mentor felt among taking her under her wings.
☆ Story of Truth (Exam ☆ S): During her slumber, the idol found herself getting accurate visions and instructions from a familiar voice, that of what she recognized to be her true mother's. A call to meet her in Peace Village, Desirée made her way there quickly in the sky and was greeted by five members of her family, all of which were her mother, sisters, and nieces. It was revealed to her that the men in her family were corrupt by her father, that made a contract with a demon and had a corrupted lacrima inside of him that was making him act under evil influences ever since the consumption, as well as the fact that they were working all of their lives in order to protect Desirée and all of her actions in the world. Joining the order of True Blooms, their goal would be to save their family, rid the corruption and evil that was within Goody Blooms, and ultimately reconcile as she had done with the girls in her family that she saw that day after they were saved. It was the first time she felt love from her true family, as well as made relationships with them that would hopefully last for the rest of their lives; it made her much happier, and forgive, which was hard for her to do.
☆ A Bittersweet Moment (Exam ☆ A): Like how her first Guild Master always wished for her, Desirée and Angelica's plans of a Guild were finally put into motion. In mere days the construction of Crystalli and Crystal Swan were complete, and she would finally be able to establish the legal guild she always wished for. While it was emotional and biter-sweet, she had to leave Black Rose in the process; attaching a paper of what had happened to her in the weeks before and why she had disappeared, she exposed all of what Savage Skull did to her and her friends, and how scarring her torture was. With this, she was able to expose all of Black Rose, including numerous Rising Stars and a God of Ishval, what truly occurred during the Guild War between Golden Phoenix, Black Rose, and an underlying Savage Skull.
☆ Blue to White (Exam ☆ B): While she was disowned at a very young age by her father due to not being male, Desirée was still legally under her parents' names even though she did not associate herself with them. In a very emotional trip, she would return to her house she lived in as a child and face her father, demanding the papers to be signed of her separation. While he attempted to kill her with a gun, she was able to dodge his shot and utilize her magic in order to scare him enough to make him eventually sign the papers and for her to now ultimately be a free spirit in her eyes.
☆ Pumpkins and Chandeliers (Site Event Social): Recieving an invitation to a mage Halloween ball, Desirée attended with a beautiful attitude and was able to catch up with old friends as well as make many new from all kinds of other guilds. While she may have had too many desserts and drinks, she had a very good time, even after the pumpkin king played his tricks and caused them to have to work in order to leave. Eventually she was able to assist the other mages in finding the candies that were scattered around the outside of the manor, saving all of their lives while also saving her own.
☆ Snow Chariot (Job ☆ S || Ongoing): Upon taking a job that would lead her out of Fiore and into Bellum, the idol would find herself with a new face, or so she thought, which went under the name of Lilium Santais. Together, the Ace of Black Rose and Guild Master were able to serve their purpose of ushering a boy across the country in order to protect him from the persecution he faced of not being a mage, that of which would display her acts of courage and charitable deeds.
☆ What Glistens in the Depths (Job ☆ B || Ongoing): With taking Rin Mayou under her wing, Desirée took her out into the Ancient Ruins in order to inspect the riches that the old Magic Council seemed to leave there in order to preserve it; with people wishing to find the treasures for riches, the Guild Master and her mentee also sought to discover it for the magic council in order to bring the items to a museum. Allowing Rin to learn with many opportunities, she was eventually able to grow in magical power and become a Rising Star, holding the same position that Desirée once held, as well as preserving the artifacts in a museum and receiving recognition from the Magic Council.
☆ Light within the Dark (Social): After one of her many concerts within Oak Town, Desirée found herself walking through the streets in order to get something to eat, but instead witnessed a man getting tortured by an Ace of Basilisk Fang, Sol Terumi. With this, the idol defended the man and eventually found herself in a duel with the dragon king, where her summons would nearly be able to take someone with a much higher skill level than her. However, learning she was capable of using the spells that her summons held. Escaping and reporting him to the Magic Council afterward, she was recognized for her efforts in fighting such a hefty criminal and grew in magical power because of it.

Guilds are NOT homes! - 8th January 2018, 12:37 pm
TL;DR -- Join guilds. Don't be guildless. Don't treat guilds like Naruto villages.
An issue I see flaring up every so often is the subject of guilds. This has been brought to me so many times, that I thought I would address it in my own personal mini-rant.
As per the title, a guild is NOT a home for the character. It is not like a clan, a tribe, a village that they must be undyingly loyal to. Though the canon shows a lot of very guild-enthusiastic people, and those types definitely exist in roleplay, a true guild does not demand the undying loyalty and participation of a person.
The definition--
To best understand what I’m writing, here is the dictionary definition of the word ‘guild’, followed by the Fairy Tail Wiki definition.
noun: guild; plural noun: guilds; noun: gild; plural noun: gilds
a medieval association of craftsmen or merchants, often having considerable power.
• an association of people for mutual aid or the pursuit of a common goal.
synonyms: association, society, union, league, organization, company, cooperative, fellowship, club, order, lodge, brotherhood, fraternity, sisterhood, sorority
"the copper craftsmen have formed a guild"
A Guild (ギルド Girudo) is a type of organization in Fiore, characterised by a member base and common trade. The purpose of a guild is to obtain and disseminate job requests to the members of the guild.
As you can see, the two are very similar.
A guild is simply an organization, or association, of individuals in a specific trade. In Medieval Times, there were trade groups of artisans, merchants, musicians, etc. In Fiore, they include magic as a trade.
In the opening narration of Fairy Tail, the narrator mentions “magical guilds”, groups of wizards coming together to find work and gain advice and help from one another.
Problem {#}1{/#}: “No guild fits my character!”
It has been noted that on this site, that, contrary to the definition, Guilds are taken up a notch, almost to an extreme. The pursuit of a common goal is emphasized, and many guilds tend to ‘specialize’ in something. For some examples, Infinity Hydra focuses on killing evil mages and taking out criminals; the vigilante magical guild. Lamia Scale focuses on the eradication of monsters. Fairy Tail is now known as a guild of mercenaries for hire. Black Sails focuses on being pirates in disguise.
Everyone makes unique characters that they come to love and cherish greatly. However, when it comes to picking a guild for their character, or changing guilds after one goes in the way of the dodo, they become stuck. “No guild fits my character!”
This leads to something of a problem for a roleplayer who simply cannot find a guild that “fits” their character. When the roleplayer sees no guild that best fits their character, they tend to stick to the guildless category, or make plans on making their own guild. It is fine to have goals, but in a way, the enormous amount of guildless mages does unbalance the site to a small degree. This is not the main issue, however, and is one I will discuss later.
The Solution: Just because a guild has a theme or goal, it does not mean that your character MUST be a pirate, a monster hunter, or a dark mage killer. A guild is simply an association. In-Character, a magician joins a guild so they have access to a job board, so they can get paid and carve out a living. Not every magician has to get super involved with their guild’s politics, wars, ideals, and OOC, plots. Guilds exist to benefit mages, and they benefit the roleplayers who play in guilds simply by offering an active atmosphere to find RP partners, an EXP bonus when one goes on jobs with guildmates, etc.
The simple solution is not taking a guild’s theme as the indisputable essence of the guild. You can work somewhere but not completely agree with a job or guild’s beliefs and ideals (naturally, if you do not share guild ideals, achieving an ace position becomes harder, but that should never be the goal for joining a guild). Find a guild that is more relaxed with their ideals, and is not in your face about being a pirate or bloodthirsty killer, and join that one. This will give you all the advantages a guild has to offer, and possibly many opportunities for plot.
Problem {#}2{/#}: “I cannot be separated from my ship/close friend/teammate IC!”
That is where you are wrong. Think about guilds like a day job; you go to work at the Walmart Deli, then you come home at night to be with your spouse who spent their day working at Petsmart. This brings up the point of the topic title; a guild is NOT your home. Some guilds, such as back in Medieval Times, would offer lodging and maybe have a place to eat, but generally, people go home at night to their own house or apartment or inn.
The guild is the place a magician goes to to find work and to make a living. Why quit your job at McDonald’s to go work at Wendy’s just because your best friend or spouse works there? Chances are, if you loved your guild both OOC and IC, and chose to hop to another out of some feeling of loyalty, you will find yourself not having as much fun, and possibly somewhat miserable-- I have observed this happen over and over to various members. IC, it also does not make sense to jump guilds out of loyalty either, even if your character is one of those extremely loyal types. The character will see them on their days off, on missions they take together, on their off-hours, etc. If your character is the extremist who will jump, just keep this in mind, and make sure you are fully on board for the guild hop.
On a similar subject, undying guild loyalty can be fun too, but it is very close to just being extremely passionate about the sports team you are on, or some school club. Canon Fairy Tail’s obsessive loyalty and friendship and family is funny and cute, yet it is more or less what made them more unique than other canon guilds-- it was their shtick. Not every guild is as demanding of loyalty (unless it’s one of those oppressive agreement or stay in the guild or die themes/ideas).
The Solution: Do not leave a guild you are happy with. Only if plot circumstances are extreme and you are no longer having fun in the one you are in, should you think about leaving. Never allow yourself to be OOC peer pressured into guildhopping too, for a ship, a friendship, family members, etc.
Problem {#}3{/#}: “My character is distant/hates everyone/untrusting/etc!”
Excuses! Just kidding. The title of the problem pretty much explains itself. The solution is simple.
Even the most reserved and untrusting characters need to make a living and earn an income. Being guildless is an option, yes, but if you are having trouble finding RP partners(and thus your character is having trouble finding missions to go on), you are best off joining a guild. The most untrusting person understands they need to do something to put food on the table, and can join a guild to get out of it. They need not completely trust their guildmates or the GM, or even the guild and its ideals, but they can use the guild for what it was created for-- providing mages with aid, resources, and work.
Problem {#}4{/#}: The problem with Guildless in general.
I often receive complaints from guildless mages who are unable to locate RP and job partners due to having no quick ability to connect with other roleplayers. In a guild, it is not too uncommon to see someone ask “Who wants to do a B rank job with me?”, and within the day, they get at least one response. A guildless member has a much harder time doing this; roleplay threads will not come as easily. It is fine if you wish to stick it out and do your best, but if not, joining a guild is the better option. If you do wish to hardmode through ranking up as a guildless mage, do not complain about finding no RP partners nor about not receiving guild benefits.
Another smaller problem on a site wide scale is just guild imbalance. The more guildless characters there are, the less active guilds there will be. My personal belief is that no magician should be guildless unless the roleplayer truly wishes for them to solo the journey for power, and only have them meet people along the way, while never sticking around for long. If a character can at least join a relaxed ideal guild, they should, unless the character has a very good IC(yes, not OOC), reason for avoiding all guilds, and the member is willing to put up with the lack of ease and benefits.
Disclaimer: This ‘vent’ is my own personal opinion on guilds, and does not reflect the views or ideas of the administration, staff, and development team.
This has been a mini-rant brought to you by Izayuki. If you have any corrections, clarifications, or invalid points you see, please bring them to me via PM/DM, and not on this thread. If you have points you wish to add, you may contact me as well, and I may or may not add them. If you feel something really must be debated, I would prefer it over DM for ease. Otherwise, you may post any other thoughts here if you wish.

Description: In the earliest days of Fiore, everything was complete chaos. There was no order, no civilization, and Fiore was similar to Sin and Bosco in landscape while having most of Sin's monsters. The world was extremely dangerous and while humanity had made attempts to colonize Fiore, it had all ended in failure. One day, a man whose name has been lost in time appeared out of seemingly nowhere, claiming he could seize and shape Fiore to whatever he desired. Sure enough, within a few years, Fiore had almost completely changed in landscape, and he had killed every single dangerous entity at the time. He killed the creatures through sheer power, but he changed the landscape with an ancient magic known only by the earliest of men, said to have originally belonged to dragons. The magic allowed him to change his environment to his will that would better suit him. He taught the same magic to his descendants, though, over the millenniums, proper teachings have been muddled, so while you, a descendant of this man, is able to change the environment, control is much more difficult.
Ability:You're able to change the environment around you, but you don't have much control over it. As a result, roll one "normal dice" to determine the "theme" of your environment; shape it as you will but it MUST look very much like the theme that you roll for. The following are themes that can be rolled for, and which number would give you what:
#1 - A fiery theme; volcanoes, lava, forest fires, hellish type of environment.
#2 - A watery theme; lakes, waterfalls, fish, oceanic type of environment.
#3 - A mountain theme; lots of hills, rocks, and mountains, a very earth type of environment.
#4 - A grassy theme; lots of wildlife and greenery, can also include things like swamps or open fields, a very luscious type of environment.
#5 - A void theme; as the name suggests, there is absolutely nothing here. There is only darkness.
#6 - An uncontrollable theme; almost anything goes here. This theme mixes up every theme presented before this one and meshes it together very strangely.
Once a mage reaches A-Rank, they unlock something called "Creative Theme", which allows them to control the environment they desire to make. Roll two dice and if they're they're the same number, they're allowed to use this theme.
Usage:Allows the user to change the environment in that thread permanently unless overwritten by another similar ability or the user tries to change the environment again (doesn't affect actual landscapes since things return to normal once the thread is over). To determine a theme, roll a single "normal dice" and customize the area. Has two uses per thread, with a 10 post cooldown. Once A-Rank is reached, the mage has the option to make an environment that they desire with virtually no restrictions. Roll two dice and if they're the same number, Creative Theme can be used; if they're not the same pick from one of the two themes you rolled for and use that as your theme. Single use, also consumes the uses one would normally have when rolling for a random theme.

Description: There was once a famous gambler who won everything. After so many victories in various different casinos across the world, people suspected her as a cheat, yet, no one could actually prove her of foul play. Mages and professionals tried to find out what she was doing to constantly win so much money, yet, no one ever discovered her secret. Every time she would leave to a casino, she would roll a dice till she got her lucky number, and eventually, she would get it. It gave her a tremendous amount of luck and even increased her combat parameters (though she never fought anyone). She suddenly died out of seemingly nowhere, and no one understood why. She knew what she was getting herself into by using the dice...
Ability:Mages of this lineage will have a golden dice which they can roll for various different bonuses. The more a mage rolls the dice, the greater the bonuses, but they also risk losing the dice roll, which will have negative repercussions on them which increases the more they roll the dice. The mage can get up to four powerful enhancements on them. The mage needs to roll a "normal dice" roll for this lineage.
BONUSES:
Roll #1 - If the mage gets any number but a 4, they gain a large bonus to their luck. This can result in the mage having extremely lucky things happening to them, such as winning the lottery or slip and fall to the ground, which would evade a gun shot.
Roll #2 -
