Post by Gemma 17th April 2014, 11:39 am

The sun was out and the streets of the port city were their usual crammed with people and noisy street vendors. An annoying background noise Gemma was willing to tolerate though- finally a bit of time off in a place that was the opposite of the dreary Phoenix Mountains. Sea air did have it's own qualities, and once she finally manages to make it through the throngs of people in the busy shop filled street she'll be in her inn and enjoy the calm and silence. Two thing that seem to be lacking more and more in her life recently.

Gemma kept and eye out for her surroundings, seeing some kind of glow in the distance. Huh, a magic street vendor? she thought to herself as she tried to raise her head above the crowd, slightly curious even if she wasn't big on magical items. It's always interesting to keep up to date with the market. Standing on her tip toes once more, she got a good view of the street vendor and started heading quickly in that direction, her gaze still anchored to the glow.

Suddenly she felt a sudden impact on most of her right side as someone ran right into her, pushing her to the floor among the large crowd and sending her glasses flying. She groaned as she pushed herself up to a sitting position on the floor, blinking slowly as she adapted to her blurry view, barely able to see clearly past her hands. "Couldn't you be more careful?" she grumbled, slightly sure that whoever ran into her was further away, not that she would be able to tell anyway.

Ayeseru sighed deeply.  Why was he in Hargeon Town in the first place?  The last thing he could remember was being in a bar fight all the way in Magnolia Town.  He was winning, before everything suddenly went black.  Did he wander all the way from there to Hargeon Town?  He groaned and scratched the back of his head; he had never consumed any alcohol prior to that evening, but man oh man, did he make up for the time he was missing out.

The smell of salt water was almost too much for Ayeseru to bare.  He wasn't one to generally go to beaches; for most of his life, he hadn't lived near one, nor did he like them all too much.  He somehow found himself in the middle of the streets of Hargeon flooded with people.  He couldn't quite figure out the cause, though he saw a getaway at the opposite end from where he stood.  Clutching his head due to the headache he had, he sighed deeply once more.  So...  To get this straight, I need to talk all the way over there to get out of here...  Right?  Boy though, did it seem far away.

As Ayeseru pushed his way through the crowd, he felt a sudden bump on his left shoulder and was caught off guard, falling on the floor on his knees.  Making no noises, but rather looking for the person who caused him to fall, he noticed a pair of glasses in front of him.  With a curious look, he inspected them and gave it a sniff; he would return the glasses at once.  His dragon-like nose was not to be underestimated.

In reality, all he had to do was turn around and he'd find the person he was looking for.  A young lady, with pink hair and rather amber-ish eyes.  He couldn't help but grin lightly.  He heard her complaining, though couldn't blame her; he was being inconsiderate in the first place.  He walked over, crouching down, and gently put her glasses on her before flashing a bright smile.

"I apologize for such acts, m'lady.  Is there anything I could possibly do to make up for it?"

Her face scrunched up slightly as she sat up, wiping of the small pebbles that had became indented in her palms when she had cushioned her fall with her hands by reflex. That'll sting slightly tomorrow, she thought to herself, before continuing to look around, somewhat uselessly considering the state of her eyesight for her glasses.

Gemma jumped sadly as something suddenly came in focus right in front of her face, gasping slightly in surprise. She hated how she could not see things coming her way. Talk about a weakness- a dumb one at that. The assaulting object was none other than a hand, a hand that ended up putting her glasses back on top her nose. She blinked again, readapting her vision, this time able to see the hand back away, and slowly she lifted her gaze to see the body it was attached to.

Annoyed slightly at the gesture of putting her glasses on, feeling treated slightly like a child it was with a sour expression that she took in the man's appearance. Her eyes drifted from dark hair to blue eyes before settling for a few seconds on a particular facial wound. Staring at it, she realized it was slightly inappropriate and decided to break the awkward eye contact by pushing her glasses higher up the bridge of her nose, the man having put them on her face crookedly.

"It's okay," she muttered, as always. "Thank you for picking those up I don't think i would have found the-" she cut in her sentence as she pushed her glasses back up another time, realized that they still sat on her face crooked. Taking them off, puzzled she held them close to her face to see what was wrong with them. "Aw, come on! I just had those fixed for crying out loud." she exclaimed in annoyance as she saw that one of the hinges was bent. "I just had those fixed" she moaned, before putting them back on her face, as unflattering as it was, and suddenly realizing the man was still there felt embarrassed by her outburst.

Ayeseru frowned when he had noticed the young lady was unsatisfied; had he done something wrong?  The look she was giving him wasn't exactly a pleased look, and she was staring at his scar, or so he presumed, which made him feel slightly uncomfortable.  The answer became quite clear though when she had very clearly stated what was bothering her.  He stood there before grabbing her hand, and then helping her back on her feet.  He scratched the bottom of his chin, wondering exactly what to do, before the idea hit him like a brick.

"Aha!  Since I was the one who caused you to fall and break your glasses, how about we go to some sort of store now and get them fixed?  Or perhaps, new glasses?  Don't worry, I'll pay!" he gave her a cheeky grin before grabbing her hand once more, though, this time, he had done so with his left wooden arm, though unknowingly so.  Should he had realized at the time, Ayeseru would've instantly retrieved his arm.

Suddenly, they were running through the sea of people.  Ayeseru with his free arm was gently, but surely moving people out of his way as he would attempt to get out of the flooded streets and into a more secluded area.  It would've made it seem bad if he took her to a back alley, But what choice do I have?  The streets currently have too much of the Hargeon Town population...  It's going to be the area with the least amount of people.

After managing to find an opening to a back alley, Ayeseru rushed into it and sighed deeply, before looking at the young woman again and smiling.  "Right, so we're going to a glasses shop of sorts, yeah?  Do you-"  That's when he realized that he was holding the woman's hand with his own wooden hand, causing him to instantly take it back and frown lightly.

He sighed deeply.  "Anyways...  Do you have any stores you prefer over others?"

Blurry [Private Ayeseru/Gemma] Empty Re: Blurry [Private Ayeseru/Gemma]

Post by Gemma 23rd April 2014, 12:13 pm

Gemma let herself be pulled up to her feet, thankful for the act that allowed her to no longer look like an idiot sitting on the floor with crooked glasses, but only bowed her head down slightly. Displays of gratitude were still things she needed to work on.  Dusting off her skirt, huffing a bit as she got rid of the last dirt marks on it, she looked back up to her helper- the one that caused her all that trouble in the first place too.

She eyed the man awkwardly surprised by the somewhat out of place cheerfulness in his voice, something that she was not expecting. Maybe a grumble and the view of his back trudging away from her through the crowd. Or a few jewels shoved in her hands as a sorry. It was probably what she would have done; she probably would have considered it better too than what was currently happening.

No- no need for new onesI like those ones, she thought to herself. “This is something that can get fixed easily. It wont cost that much anywa-“ she was deadpanning when she was cut short when a rough hand- rougher than it should be- grabbed hers and dragged her through the Hargeon crowd

When they finally came to a stop, she snatched her hand back violently, more by surprise by the act than the offending touch of it. But her eyes instinctively dropped as she took in the source of the unfamiliar feel, surprised to see it was wooden. But when her eyes went back up to his, her annoyance set back in and her voice rose finally past a near whisper for the first time since their meeting. “Hey! Who ever taught you it was okay to drag random strangers?” she exclaimed, her face scrunched up before she glanced to her surroundings, suddenly feeling unsafe, her stance changing to a more stable one in case things turned for the worse. Nothing good ever happened in alleyways it didn’t take a genius to know that.

She continued to eye the man cautiously as she answered him. “I usually get them fixed in the capital but that’s because it’s usually the lenses that break in battle. They just need to be re-screwed probably” she said, pushing her crooked glasses back up on her face as they slid down during the trip to the alley.
