Poko was somewhat relieved to find out the boy was actually interested in the book or at least the information it held within its pages, that meant she at least had something in common with him. She was curious by what he meant by 'personal reasons', but she didn't attempt to pry as she knew that it would be considered rude, or at least she would feel irritated if someone tried to do the same to her. For now she would leave that topic alone, although she was interested in learning more about him. After her last few experiences she had thoroughly enjoyed meeting some new people and the blonde concluded that Nikomar may also make a decent friend as he at least shared a similar interest. However, before she had a chance to respond the book shop owner called them over, handing them each their free book , to which Poko thanked him in a small whisper, excited as she held onto her own copy of 'Runescaping'. She was so enthralled with it she almost didn't hear Nikomar speaking to her, quickly she turned her attention to him and nodded.

"Um... Yes, I am in Silver Wolf." Poko responded before thinking that maybe he'd want some proof and decided to bend down in order to flick one of her socks as far down as possible to reveal her ankle, upon which rested a bright, hot pink mark in the shape of a wolf's head. "I don't know much about other guilds, but Silver Wolf is a guild focused on research and development." She explained, considering what else he might wish to know before continuing, her eyes slowly swirling purple as she spoke. Talking about the guild always made her excited, it was her home and life now, she couldn't imagine being without it. "Silver Wolf prides itself on being open to everyone and anyone, a place where all our welcome and wont be judged or their choices both past and present." She concluded with a huge grin forming on her face, happy with her choice of words. As Poko finished speaking the owner returned with their payment, which she took graciously before grabbing her jacket and preparing to leave the store.

"I suppose I will probably head back to my guild base, I promised my friend I would return as soon as possible with the book so we could start experimenting." The blonde answered as she pulled on her jacket and flicked her hair out of the top. It was then that she was suddenly struck with an idea, "Would you like to come visit the guild perhaps? I mean if you're not overly busy. It's not too far from here, just a few days travel, although you will need warm clothes for the hike up the mountains." It was just a simple suggestion, the boy seemed friendly enough, plus she always loved showing off the guild library given the opportunity. However, if he wasn't interested she would simply take the faster route through Paradise, she wasn't allowed to take others through it without Quill's permission first. So if Nikomar did decide to come along the journey would be much longer, but she was certain Yuvon would understand the delay.

"Silver Wolf, huh..." Nikomar said, taking out the book from his belt, not the copy of Runescaping but a rather simple, brown, leather bound book with N.N embroidered in the bottom right corner. He opened this book and began to rapidly flick through the pages. He had taken quite a liking to the girl. She seemed honest, upbeat with a genuine curiosity  for... well, runes at least. It sounded like many like-minded people would be part of the Silver Wolf, the guild she spoke of.
"... I don't have any record of that guild." He concluded, closing the book with a gentle thump, before returning it to it's secure fastening on his belt. "Nor have I ever heard of a research and development guild... but it sounds like a place full of interesting people and information. With no judgement of people's pasts it must be a haven of unique and powerful magic..." Nikomar had drifted off in thought for a moment, considering the opportunities offered by visiting the guild. "Why not!" He concluded with a gentle smile. "I don't have any plans for the near future, which was really getting on my nerves, and I'm quite used to cold weather. How far up the mountain is the guild based?.

A place where newcomers won't be judged by their choices, past or present Nikomar thought to himself as the two left the bookshop with a final farewell to the staff, and began their journey through the city towards the mountains. That's an odd detail. I have nothing in my past to hide, but do members commonly have dark previous lives? Or do they continue to live them? She did say "past or present". I'll have to be on my guard when I get there. Although, the darker side of magic would be interesting to observe... Despite these odd details, Nikomar didn't feel wary about the motives of the guild itself. Poko was too bright and enthusiastic when talking about it. The smile that on her face was a warm, friendly one. One you get when thinking about the good times you shared with close family members. That last thought brought a cold feeling to Nikomar's stomach, reminding him that those days had ended for him. He shook the negative thoughts away, no point worrying about that now. Those matters were out of his hands.

"So what sort of experiments do you and your friend have planned?" He asked as they walked, keeping an ear out for any potential darker aspects to the guild. He doubted there would be, based on Poko's attitude towards the guild. Still, he'd rather find out if there was anything malicious about it before he arrived.

Invitation for a Journey Empty Re: Invitation for a Journey

Poko chuckled as Nikomar looked over his notes from a book, "Well it's still a fairly new guild compared to many others. Plus we're hidden away in the mountains, makes it difficult to get information about I guess." the girl responded to his comment about not having any information on Silver Wolf, "It's just in the northern region on the top of one of the inner mountains, not too far, just a few days trek." she explained, she honestly didn't know the exact distance, the thought to check never occured to her, after all she hardly ever walked up the mountains these days. There was nothing to be worried about though, she could easily handle herself and any beasts they may come across, not to mention once they were close enough the guardian wolves would come aid them as well. Although she always dreaded them and just the thought made her chest clench a little, they had always been kind enough to walk far enough away not to bother her, but close enough to guide.

However, upon him mentioning the planned experiments her couldn't help but grin deviously, "Oh just a few harmless experiments, nothing to worry about too much." Poko chuckled as she thought of some of the pranks she had began planning in her head. However, it wasn't all fun and games, she did have some serious research she wished to conduct as well, after all she planned to make the gardens of Silver Wolf something that others would envy. It wasn't going to be easy to make something out of the snowy ranges, but she was sure with Yuvon's knowledge and her determination they would make it work. "So, you interested in coming with me?" The blonde asked with big, yellow eyes that gleamed with hope. "I mean you don't have to worry too much about snowstorms or whatnot on the way there, I have magic that can protect us from such!" She added, just in case the idea of climbing up the snowy mountains might have put the boy off.

"Harmless experiments? Your smile suggests otherwise." Nikomar said, a gentle grin on his own face. Her tone of voice was more mischievous than menacing, so he doubted these experiments were anything malicious. "And of course I want to come! It sounds like I can really fill some of the gaps in my knowledge at this guild." He certainly couldn't say no to those eyes at the very least. They had changed colour again, he'd have to note that down at some point. I wonder if the colour change is a conscious thing, or if it's linked to something like mood or emotion... or if it's entirely random. He pondered to himself, maybe he'd ask at some point in the journey. It apparently wouldn't be too long to travel, just a few days, but it sounded like a rough route. Having grown up on the lower slopes of a mountain range, Nikomar was used to cold weather and snow, but blizzards were on a whole other level. Not that he hadn't experienced them. His highly adventurous father had often taken him hiking up the mountains, never near the peak, but high enough for the snow to become deep enough to wade through, at least for a young boy. A couple of these hikes had ended early as snowstorms began to brew. He was glad that they would be taking such a route to the guild, he had nothing but fond memories of those times, and he wouldn't mind the nostalgia. "I'm used to snow, but not snowstorms." He said "I expect they're out of my league, but I could try some defensive magic just to see how well it holds up. What sort of magic do you have to deal with snowstorms?" His magic power was still relatively new as only recently had it started to develop, and he hadn't been able to thoroughly test it yet. An environmental challenge, like a blizzard, seemed like an good place to start. I'm sure I'll also be able to spar with some of the guild members if I'm there long enough, testing my abilities in combat is the best way to analyse it for weaknesses.

Poko giggled as Nikomar mentioned her devious smile, well she had planned on a few practical jokes after all. The blonde girl's eyes then lit up a yellow with flecks of purple as he spoke about coming to see the guild, she always enjoyed showing off her home to people; especially ones that could potentially join them on their journey to developing some of the world's greatest technology. She was also pleased that the boy seemed fine with travelling through the snow, after all it was not an easy feat and some people were often reluctant to visit because of the weather conditions. When he asked her about her magic, she was more than happy to show off a bit, twirling her finger around and she focused on the air around the duo till it began to spin wildly around them in a way that projected the breeze outwards, keeping them inside, without feeling a thing. She then outstretched her arm to show how the breeze barrier moved as she did before explaining.

"I use magic I like to call aerokinesis, or wind magic. My friend Zephyr taught me how to use it when I was young." She carefully explained, "I can make sure that nothing can harm us inside the barrier as we travel, however..." Poko paused before breaking off the spell to remove the shield of wind from around them, "Like any mage I still have limits, so I can only protect us for so long against harsh weather. It should be enough to last us through the worst of the storm though." She reassured the boy with a small smile. "In the meantime I can use it to speed up our travels by making sure the wind works for us, not against us. Once we're all set to leave that is." Poko grinned, she loved her magic in its entirety, but she was always curious about other people's as well, which got her thinking about what Nikomar might be capable of as well. "What about you?" The blonde asked, tilting her head to the side slightly as she did, "What kind of magic do you use?"

"Aerokinesis..." Nikomar said to himself as he spun around on the spot, the wind writhing around the pair but without feeling the faintest breeze. I must remember to document this, along with any magic she demonstrates at a later date, not to mention the information about the guild. She certainly had more power than he had initially imagined. "I've never met a wielder of wind magic before, there certainly weren't any I grew up. I see how you can manage to reach the guild in such a harsh environment. . He couldn't help but be charmed by her smile, and eyes dancing with colour as she showed off her magic. Yellow and purple, those colours have repeated I think... It'll take time to figure out if the correspond with something

"My own magic? Well... it's funny..." Nikomar said, pausing to think for a moment. "I'm not entirely sure myself." He said, raising one hand into the air, fingers extended, before contracting them into a fist. Light around the hand seemed to distort, similar to looking through a sphere of water, but the distortion continually changed. "I can create pulses and contractions in... well, space itself. I initially used it to study any object was interested in, as I could explore all it's physical properties, but recently I made some discoveries that show promising defensive properties. As he said this, he dispelled the distortion. "I've only begun to really develop my magic recently, and like I said before I'm not sure of how useful it will be on our journey, speaking of which, is there anything we'll need before we make our way up the mountain?"
