    ”Kyuken…”

    “…”
    “…”
    “… ARH-“

Mura’s hand swiftly made it across the samurai ghost’s face as he was approaching the laying pair of Alex’ underwear.

    “No. Bad.”
    “What am I, a pet?!”
“No, you’re kind of worse than that… seriously, those are Alex’. You can’t just-“
“I have needs too, you know!!!”
“But this is too indecent, even for you-“
“Don’t you even know the should-be-forbidden pleasure of smelling a lady’s used underwear?! IT’S A WHOLE OTHER LEAGUE, A WHOLE OTHER WORLD FOR A KID LIKE YOU!”
    “S-Stop dramatizing everything..!”

Yeah… an ordinary morning for the young shaman, it was. Kyuken was so lively that you would have trouble realizing that he was a ghost. Zirconis was still sleeping like a rock, and the rest of the heart - dear, little Mai who was sleeping through the weekend with her mom, whilst her summons roamed either her or Mura’s room, randomly resting several places during the night and morning. Mura would’ve taken a day off as well if not for the announcement of a possible threat to… well, the entire country. A long while after having cleared Fat Monsterland, large magic circles began appearing here and there across the land. It piqued many people’s curiosities including Mura’s, and in short time, he had decided to investigate the certain magic circles that had appeared right here at his own hometown Magnolia.

It was beginning to get a pattern… the Fat Monsterland and this. That was what Mura decided to concliude when he reached a magic circle. If they were that large - approximately 20 meters in diameter - then they would certainly catch the attention of the other guildmates of his very soon. What a pain… and he had to pay back Torian for the reparation of his katana too. What if the other swordsman got strangled into this? He did know that Torian could hold his ground, but the reason that Mura found it nerve-wrecking was but the sheer amount of monsters that just emerged from the circle, which concluded itself to be a summoning magic. He was a few meters away when in a flash, a swarm of monsters popped into reality and began buzzing like crazy. It even surprised him to the point where he had to grab the hilt of his katana out of shock, which was typically not him.

“… Uh, that’s surprising... this reminds me of that one night at the abandoned house…”

    Noheme Fairy Tail H-Rank

A morning filled with an alarm sound going off in the city might have as well been a regular morning to Noheme. Not because the goddess was used to such emergencies, but because there was no way it was an emergency of great enough scale that she could not handle it if she went out there. Because of that single assumption, the fox girl took quite a good while to get out of her bed this morning. Mostly also because she adored the feeling of these new sheets and duvet against her bare skin - yes she was sleeping without any clothes on.

But really, it was just so hard to relax in the bed with that sound going off throughout the entire city. Perhaps it was a mistake for the girl to move into Fairy Hills, a place where a good number of her fellow guildmates lived? She would judge that based on how often such emergencies would happen. In any case, she stretched her body and finally started looking around the room for her kimono, before giving up and conjuring a new one from magic alone. The convenience of having ethernano to spare. And looking out of the window, it seemed that she would have to use a bit more later on.

Giant magical circles seemed to be floating above Magnolia and causing the alarms to go off. How unpleasant. But that only meant that she would just have to destroy them all, right? Not only that, she already sensed a presence of certain someone outside. So while she would be working on this, she figured that she might as well have some fun at the same time. Warping out of her room and moving in the shadows themselves, she would slowly rise from the ground tight behind Mura without making a single bit of noise in the process.

Her abilities were truly handy at times, especially this one. It made her worse than a ghost, as she had absolutely no energy that could be sensed, made no sound as she moved or could be really discovered by any means other than visual ones. It was as if she did not even really exist, which was actually somewhat true as far as the ability allowing this went. Regardless, it allowed her to perfectly sneak up on Mura and suddenly embrace him from behind and putting all of her weight onto him, her bosom pressing against the back of his head.

Night at the abandoned house when monsters suddenly started raining from the skies? Sounds like you went through some fun adventures yourself~.” Instead of really greeting him, she just went ahead and started teasing him by using the words he himself uttered. Ones that she heard just as she emerged behind him just mere moments before. Her tails would surround him as well, as if she was slowly forming a very fluffy and comfortable cage for him. “I sense an energy in the air… you didn’t do anything perverted this morning, did you? Or maybe it was one of your ghosts~?

She also even felt the perverted energy in the air that was generated by Kyuken when he wanted to do unspeakable things with the undergarments of a female that were yet to be washed. Funny how much the vixen could feel in that regard. It only seemed to reinforce the fact that the species of her vessel were truly and perfectly connected to the more lustful and carnal worlds of Earthland. Not that she cared, Noheme actually enjoyed spending nights with other individuals that were interesting enough to her pretty often. “So, what do you plan to do about all this~?

Magnolia had settle down into peace for the while, the typical festivities and events happening smoothly all around the Fairy Tail guild master as she stood on the balcony of the second floor of the guild hall. Sounds of people going about their daily lives, and vendors beginning to open up shop in the town’s busy marketplaces filled the early morning air, bringing a rare feeling of contentment to the young mage. For once, work had let up a bit as well. The Magic Council was no longer sending checkups as often, and less time was needed to be spent rushing around to make sure everything looked absolutely picturesque. In addition, with all the final details of the guild finally clarified and set in stone after an entire year of organization, calls, and contacts with other guild masters, the amount of paperwork had lessened significantly. Perhaps she’d take this chance to go out and find something else to do? Maybe do some casual sightseeing in other countries, or study her own magic more in depth. Or maybe, just maybe… Could she even go back to school? Sorano had left her education at a young age, leaving school to become a mage, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt to go back. Having supplemented the time away with studies of her own, she had little doubt that catching up wouldn’t be a problem.

Just as she was pulling up the details of schools in Magnolia on her lacrima screen, a sudden yell came up from the nearby square. A tired sigh that seemed beyond her age would force its way out of Sorano’s mouth, the girl turning her head to see what had happened now. Peace was deceptive, it seemed, cruel in the worst ways possible. An enormous magic circle had just sprouted up in the city square, a horrible roar emanating from its depths. Terrific. Some other disaster had occurred – the guild’s trouble magnet tendencies hadn’t gone away yet. This shouldn’t be too hard to take care of, though - even as the letter mage trotted downstairs as fast as she could, rushing out into the city, her senses would snag upon the auras of Mura and Eris, both being strong mages that could take care of these things without too much of a problem. Indeed, Mura’s aura just seemed irritated at the sudden appearance, while Eris’ emotions were nonchalant, almost bored. It wasn’t without reason of course, seeing as she was the most powerful mage in the guild after all.

Sensing the mixed auras of Mura’s mages as she stepped into the square, she waved awkwardly from the side. The situation seemed to be certainly under control here – she shouldn’t be needed, right? Still, no one knew. This could be as simple as a mis-casted spell, or as complicated as a continuation of that strange monster attack from several months back. That had been a surprisingly rough fight, one she wasn’t at all expecting. It wouldn’t do to underestimate this one too.

Quickly, Sorano spread her senses throughout the area, searching for any sign of other magic circles, and was relieved to find that this was the only one in the general vicinity. “Hello Mura, Eris.” She greeted them politely before looking around at the situation. “Do any of you know what’s going on right now? I just sensed a random magic circle that suddenly popped up here, and suddenly there’s monsters. Not really what I had expected so early in the morning.” Over time, the emotionless girl’s social skills had slowly – very slowly – improved, but her more casual dialogue still sounded forced and broken, like she was attempting to communicate in a different language. You’d expect the guild master known for diplomatic skills to be a bit more accustomed to causal speaking, but that was not at all the case with Sorano.

Post by Terith 9th April 2018, 2:20 am

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
Whatever sort of business that the swordsman had chanced upon there were to be completely incidental, like many of the other eventful things that persisted to trail his uneventful appearance. Magnolia wasn't a particularly appealing location for a vagabond's detour, but there would be little freedom for an argument when the train conductor and his steam-vehicle approached a problem on its road to Crocus. All manner of transport were to be halted almost immediately within two meters of the city after a chorus of warning sirens alerted the locals of what was at stake, a sound hallowed by the screams and the buzz of foreign enchantment that circled Magnolia's roads in a foreboding, deep red.

Boredom was now just as much as an excuse as circumstance, he thinks, fleetingly. Any substantial form of doubt for his decisions were quickly discarded, him being acutely aware of the willingness that drove him further beyond the noise that continued to enrapture Magnolia with a dread most certain...and perhaps something else entirely.

His spirit would not quiver like it once did as recognized the threat and the death that it entailed, his hooded figure gently extracting itself from the crowds that ran in the opposite direction. The swordsman's choice to attend the quelling of the beasts within the grounds of Magnolia stood a firm foundation within his thoughts, cushioned by his desire to continue sharpening his blade in battles he would normally avoid. The decision was not meant without difficulty, still, considering the city guards that oversaw Magnolia's threshold appeared largely skeptical to his wizard title, though perhaps they couldn't afford to overlook any extra aid if given the opportunity. Naturally, they'd have let him join the gathering party of capable Magnolian mages at the epicenter of the dilemma, but not without offering him the slightest bit of scrutiny, if not for his still-there status of being an outsider with little known credit under his belt than most wizards.

Torian didn't opt to think twice to shrug the hostility off, fixing himself a confidence befitting the task at hand. If he had ever have the grace to realize what he'd have gained from the months beforehand, it was that his personal opinion on his own, slightly uninteresting self mattered to his performance - it wouldn't hurt to have more than a bit of faith in what he can and what he cannot accomplish. Pride was a finicky thing to deal with, but he no longer believed himself to be  a worthless man in the slightest,

'I suppose I won't need to lecture you for a while.' chuckled his Origin, the words bouncing off of Torian's psyche in light, jovial tones. '...But let me offer my praise for you, having escaped from the shackle that long weighed you down from what you were truly capable of.'

The swordsman submits to the acclaim with a laugh, as if humored by the statement.

'Jeez pops, thanks for exaggerating it more than needed!' he said, 'I swear, whenever you speak like that, you actually sound a lot more like your age. You should try it more often.'

    'Excuse me?!'

    'Anndddd it's gone.'

The Chronicle briefly fashioned a faint ripple to traverse its glassy, sea-like floor, almost as if there were external forces that wished to express their amusement over the exchange. The Origin Spirit felt his simmering anger disperse, his forehead slightly notching from a furrowed brow.

'...Well, as much as I'd like to resume our regular back and forth, I assume it's time for you to focus on other things.' the spirit clipped, his blurry figure looking as if he'd folded white-clothed arms over a gold-strewn chest. 'These are dangerous things, Torian, I commend you for your bravery twice-fold.'

    'Point taken.'

His legs take on a slightly more aggressive approach to his pacing as he immediately bolted for a nearby area, where the stench of poisonous magic reeked heavily of pestilence, spoke of blood in torrents and death unmerciful. Gathering around the dark essence were a few magical signatures, largely non-hostile and unbelievably overwhelming. In hindsight, there would be no reason to offer his services if such wizards already came to foresee the conclusion to this mess. But Torian steeled himself, reminding his conscience that he'd only ever be a burden if he thought of it beforehand. For now, he was here, and his blade would take on a capacity he could manage to the best of his abilities. If he were to not prove himself to the others, then it was, at the very least, proof for himself.

Having gained the proximity to observe the assembly of mages, the swordsman would indefinitely recognize an uncanny figure, his memory shifting to the hours he'd have shared with a talented youth that seemed to have bested his abilities on an island teeming in rogue machines. It was there that he'd have learned to look at himself in slightly better opinions, an experience he keeps close in fear that he'd forget something of too much value.

He smiles, albeit briefly, carrying him a gratitude that he had never truly voiced as he approached the girl in brisk steps. There were others that cornered the little miss' presence, but it didn't appear to deter his intent to make himself known.

"I didn't think our reunion would be this soon, Miss Granon." he speaks, lifting an arm in casual greeting to fit his choice of words, lest he give her a small fright, "It's me, Torian Pace."

'Smooth.' the spirit jests, huffing a chuckle as he smoked on the blurry image of what looked to be a gold pipe, faint plumes of smoke rising from the tip, 'Real smooth.'

'It's called being polite, mind you.' he bickered back, fleetingly taking into account the other two who looked to be fairly acquainted with the ebony-haired miss, 'I don't hear you giving me tips on how to introduce myself.'

The smoke lilts into a thin line of gray, as if the embers snuffed themselves out from a single laugh that bubbled out the Origin's lips, 'Because you don't need them~'

    'How flattering.'

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] Empty Re: Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura]

Post by Mura Kensho 11th April 2018, 10:45 am

Lots of thoughts ran by as he slowly unsheathed his katana. The circle further down the streets could only prove hostile - it was a hostility alike the siege back when Savage Skull rampaged out of nowhere. As a citizen of this town, and as its patriot guild’s Ace, Mura had all the reasons to stop thinking and start cleaning the streets for those bloody beasts… it was obvious, he could read their souls all the way from here. They were similar to the types of monsters that had assaulted them in flocks back at Fat Monsterland, too. They just kept coming back, eh? It was definitely a force to reckon with, in the end - but the more they attacked, the more eager was Mura to put an end to it. However, if he managed to stop it now, would it truly stop forever..?

One would need to locate their exact base. However, his thoughts didn’t reach that far, anyway, as he was taken by surprise from behind; it was a wonder how she snuck up on him, but he may have been at fault for thinking so much that the world blurred for a brief moment. Now, his thoughts suddenly cracked and melted by the weight added onto him by the playful kitsune, and just like with Hera at the sail trip, he almost drowned in the essence of her breasts. “W-Waaaaaaahh…” he almost moaned in shock. His eyes grew cozy as he suddenly considered just falling asleep here, in this warm and comfortable spot, embraced by fluffiness and bounciness - heck, he almost dropped his sword for a moment. However, he somehow managed to regain his cool when Kyuken poked out in absolute anger.

“Now, whatever I’ve done can’t compare to this lucky kid here, you know...!” the samurai ghost boasted out in jealousy. He had half a mind to take over Mura’s body now just to feel them too - those huge, massive melons of hers. They were even bigger than Hera’s, too, but why was he thinking about that? Oh Christ, leave the boy alone…!

“N-Nnnnnhhhh… u-uh,” the shaman let out as his eyes opened again, “Well… ahhh… I-I mean, let’s find the others-“ His wish was granted at the spot, because the next person addressing them was their very Guildmaster, Sorano. Not surprised at all - she didn’t react to Eris’ gameplay at all and, instead, went straight to the issue at hand. Mura was more than happy that she looked over the childish-yet-not-so-childish act, but… where were they again? Oh, yeah, the monsters! “… They’re similar to those that we met before,” he spoke, not even bothering to remove himself from Eris’ embrace, “But they keep returning… maybe… maybe that portal can lead us to their base. But first-“ All of a sudden, the shaman’s katana was held up high with the foxie’s a-game fluffy tails looking like garments around his arm. A certain swordsman had arrived… and just in time to join the group and their next mission.

“Took you long enough, and yet perfect timing, Torian,” he greeted the hooded paladin-looking ether wizard. His eyes suddenly grasped a certain light approaching them, and when Mura focused his vision on it, the light appeared to come from a source of hundreds - maybe thousands - of small, tiny, mini flame gremlins. Their roars, however, sounded like those from bears, and it gave a hostile atmosphere that alerted the shaman quick enough. With a quick pointing by his left hand, he made sure to move as little as possible due to the heaven that he was in at the moment - a left hand was more than enough to send a large boulder straight through the horde, taking out a good handful. Then another direction was pointed at by his left hand, and a geyser of water sprung up from the earth and burned/extinguished another handful of them again.

    “Mhhhhhmmm…”

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] 9eQE92W

    Noheme Fairy Tail H-Rank

Suffice to say, the Kitsune got at least a resemblance of the reaction she wished to see from the young sword-wielder. It was always satisfying to see others react like that, almost melting at her touch because they could barely handle it. There would surely be some that would try to look down on the goddess for using her body in such a ‘disgraceful’ way, but she cared not one bit for such individuals. After all, she was truly a goddess. Being that had elevated above all else and could do whatever the damn she pleased! Which consisted of having fun right now, by any means necessary.

They were also shortly visited by another person, one who the vixen recognized rather swiftly. Without changing her position too much, she just looked over her shoulder and smiled mischievously at the young girl. “Oh my - Good day to you, guild master. It seems that someone has been playing with their toys and overdid it a little bit, or something to that effect~.” The way she spoke about this magical circles and the invasion as a whole, it was rather clear that she did not see it as an actual threat. At least for herself anyway.

The civilians around them were a completely different matter, but one she was not interested in. She’d leave saving people to others any day of the week. But if left alone for long enough, then the magic at work here would most likely grow to be rather bothersome indeed. So at the end of the day, it would be beneficial even for the fox girl to try at least a little bit to assure a victory of the ‘legal’ side of things in this town. Strangely enough, yet another figure had entered the fray, another male. A blond pretty boy, it seemed. And he knew Sorano, while Mura knew him.

How intriguing indeed. She wanted to know more about this mysterious swordsman herself, so she decided that she would do her part of the job as swiftly as was humanly possible. Or godly possible, in her case. Letting go of her favorite shaman, she would make few steps back as her body suddenly started levitating ever so slightly, the nine fluffy tails flowing on top of the wind around them like strings let loose. She was gathering magical energy inside of her body, but no one around her could even tell because of her ascension ability that made her magical signature impossible to be sensed by others.

Let us see… a lot of the monsters were already released and are terrorizing this place. But if I were to break down the summoning circles, then the rest of the mages could deal with the threat eventually. Alrighty, target found~.” With that, she would also extend one of her clawed hands toward the skies where most of the magical circles resided. They were giant and spewing out enemies non-stop. This served simply for the purpose of quickly analyzing them, Noheme using her developed magic sensing ability to figure out if there was anything special about them at all.

Looks like they are one-way only. Not gonna be finding anything from that, so… time to break them~!” Saying that rather happily, a sudden shock-wave would push anyone too close to her away as all of the vixen’s fur started turning black, shadows creeping up her being. In her right hand, she held the trusted small fan, something that she could be seen with pretty much at all times. But flicking her hand to the side, that very fan suddenly expanded into a black and golden katana when its seal was released.

Seconds later, a rather massive amount of shadow and holy energy started filling the blade, visible as curtain-like weaves appearing out of thin air and wrapping around the weapon’s blade. As the dark and holy energies accumulated faster and faster, their opposite essences would begin to merge together and make the ground around shake ever so slightly. But not only that, the color started being drained from the area as everyone slowly started seeing everything in black and white only. Surprisingly, this was one of the goddess’ strongest spells as of right now.

Surprisingly because she normally did not use this kind of arsenal unless she was in a serious fight. It seemed that she really did want to end her part in fighting here as quickly as possible. Once enough energy has gathered on the katana, she would simply swing it and release it all in that one single attack. A result of which was a ball of white and black separating from the metallic tip and speeding away from the squad, aimed directly at the center of all those summoning circles. The ball flew fast and covered all the required distance as well.

The moment it reached its destination, it started expanding. It was now that the true form of this attack was revealed. “All life returns to the nature from whence it came - Heavenly Demon Revival~.” She said it almost in a teasing way as the sky suddenly lit up. A giant explosion of gray covered their view completely as the saturated energy gnawed away at the magical circles, breaking them apart and completely devouring them in mere seconds. During the explosion, all color seemed to have been drained away from the world as well.

But after few seconds when it all finally passed, all returned to its normal state. The city and skies were once more colorful, but also devoid of the summoning circles. There were probably still some smaller ones around, but the biggest source of enemies was gone for good. All that truly remained were the enemies already summoned and on the ground. Happy with her handiwork, the vixen sealed her weapon back into the form of a hand-held fan and waved it at her face to refresh her physical form after spending a good bit of ethernano on a spell like that.

But not for too long, as her form suddenly disappeared and reappeared right behind Torian Pace, as he introduced himself. She did the exact same thing to him as she did to Mura, pressing her plentiful bosom against the back of his head as she levitated slightly above the ground. “And who might you be, Torian Pace? A mysterious stranger who will save the day and claim the maiden as his own for the sake of getting a reward? Fufufu~.” She laughed as her nine golden tails slowly started coiling around his limbs and body as a whole. This was quite entertaining to her.

As she had expected, the vixen would turn to smile coyly at Sorano as she approached. With her immensely powerful magic aura, there was no doubt that Eris viewed this as no more than an irritating disturbance. She was probably only even bothering to help take care of it at all because she just felt like it. Remembering the fight in the mansion that the two had participated in on a job, the letter mage knew that the H-rank’s careless nature was affordable. It wouldn’t do any good to underestimate someone like Eris – as much as she did enjoy seducing those around her on a whim. It was certainly nice as well, having someone around who could be considered truly neutral. Often those in the guild would hold qualms about more illegal business, or possess such a strong moral code they couldn’t help but jump in to save someone from harm the moment it was spotted, losing track of what would actually help them in the process.

On the other hand, Mura… They hadn’t worked together much lately, had they? Last time it had been for a related incident as well. How ironic that it seemed to always be imminent danger that brought the teammates together. The Flame of the Phoenix had slowly grown apart with the departure of Gamon, Corliss, and Julius – while the remaining members were still fairly close, they hadn’t met up together in so long that the guild master would have to think back to a year or so ago to the last time they’d talked as a complete team. What a shame…

Before she had enough time to truly dig her brain deeper into the mess of thoughts, Sorano would be saved by the sudden presence of someone surprisingly familiar. Or…was it familiar after all? The last time she’d touched the edges of his aura, it had been darkened and muddied with a gloom of self-hatred and lack of confidence. This time, he seemed genuinely cheerful, as though his problems had gone away somehow. It had definitely been a while since they’d last spoken, but such a drastic change had not been expected. Turning to greet the swordsman, she noticed Mura greeting Torian as well. Had they, too, met? “It’s nice to meet you again as well, sir.” Emulating his polite nature (one she was far more comfortable with than the casual banter passed between Mura and Eris), she dipped her head formally. “You’re looking much better than when we last encountered one another.”

As much as she would have liked to stop and catch up, however, they were in something akin to an emergency at the moment, and the time simply couldn’t be spared. Mura would be the first to move, after explaining his own thoughts on the situation. When not engulfed in the throes of Eris’ rather voluptuous breasts, he was an excellent asset to any team. He would send geysers of water up at the elemental minions, extinguishing their flames in great sweeps of his magic. He could handle himself – no need to worry on that front.

On the other hand, Eris would be fighting in a rather different manner. Efficient as always, the vixen raised a hand to the sky, doing whatever it was she felt was the best course of action. Someone else she didn’t need to care about – the only possible worry with Eris was the possibility of over-destruction, but that could almost always be fixed. Watching curiously as her magic expanded outwards to cloak her in black energy, she released her fan into a katana as well. When they had fought together, the mage had been handicapped – unable to utilize her magical abilities, and had resorted to using an alternate form of energy instead of fighting in her prime form. As such, it was truly fascinating for the girl to observe her current way of fighting. Color gradually drained away from around them, and the very instincts of the girl screamed at her to run away – the sheer amount of energy here right now was too strong for her to even attempt to sense, but she would have to trust that Eris knew what she was doing.

An orb of black and white energy would be slung from the blade tip then, expanding to reach the circles and utterly destroy them, disintegrating the magical light with the monochromatic power. A truly powerful show of energy… Sorano hadn’t been in the presence of such in a long, long time, and she was tempted to stay and just observe the shifting of the hues around them as the sky was cloaked in gray from the power. The world around them would then slowly return to normal, civilians and monsters alike in shock at the occurrence. Honestly, Sorano was truly thankful that this was a mage on their side. She’d hate to have to face her in any sort of battle.

Although Eris had eliminated the source of the creatures, they were still running rampant on the ground, as shown by the monsters that Mura was most currently preoccupied with. Thinking to give him a quick hand, the letter mage spun her fingers through the air in an easy movement. A barrage of watery bullets would flash free from the words she had carved into the air before her, bowling over a good portion of the gremlins that the shaman had been facing. As another few approached her from the back, Sorano’s bow would be extracted from the mirror fabric woven into the side of her shirt. Blocking it with the bow’s sturdy wood, she adjusted the position of the liquid bullets to attack from their back instead, melting away their fiery forms. A slight spark would hit her skin, but it hurt no more than catching a spark from a campfire and the girl would not be affected. Instead, she’d move away to leave the rest to Mura, turning to another monster – one causing trouble for the civilians. Keeping the good view of Magnolians was crucial for the guild – their trust meant that they had more people to speak on their behalf, and a good way to do that was by saving their lives, right? She sent a wave of light out over the area around her, flushing the rats that now attacked the villagers with the holy light. There was a large amount, and it would be tiring to extinguish them all, but it had to be done.

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] Empty Re: Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura]

Post by Terith 2nd June 2018, 8:26 pm

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
In the moments he'd known her, nevertheless scarce and brief, Miss Granon would have always held herself in a regulated light, clipped and practiced under the guise of her age. Professional seemed far more than an understatement when he'd been addressed in equally formal fashion, particularly after her attention were to no longer linger about him. Having Magnolia consumed in full by the unavoidable mess of what was to come offered more than just an incentive to prioritize it, and Torian couldn't be bothered with dying conversations when the fighting concerned him and everything else in his immediate peripheral. Outside of the decorum befit of a reunion was a threat begging to be extinguished, and what sort of man would be foolish enough to ignore that?

Apparently none of them were in the likelihood of doing so.

Seasoned as they'd first appeared to be, the other wizards took to the problem in movements deft and meaningful, already attacking as Torian split Kushinada from its sheathe. The boy with the brunette do didn't move as inefficiently as other people would have in position, smothered in a lungful of bosom that it had the swordsman reeling from second-degree embarrassment. What he'd benefit from looking the other way was subject to doubt, but at the very least he'd wanted to save a decency meant for intimate relationships...if that was even a word for it.

Regardless, defeated enemies and doused fires were as good as they are on a base level, and the swordsman saw no need to further observe the smaller male go about his business. Well...there was some interest to benefit from his name dropping from the boy's lips, but there was plenty a time for that matter in the future. Anything but the madness at hand was deemed trivial by virtue of necessity.

Though, could he had been in the wrong for stopping short out of marvel? Surely the burst of power wasn't complete out of the realm of possibility for the vixen with them, whom he'd already deduced to have a power unbidden solely from the manner that which she ambled across the streets, confidence and all. This was all inherently child's play for her, he thinks, observing each scene unravel in seamless fashion. Suffice to say, the swordsman was smack dab on the receiving end of awe, a humane reaction if anything. The nature of his travels allowed Terith to work with a diverse lot of mages from all across Fiore, however no one as experienced as she - certainly not many a wizard could paint the world in an achromatic filter.

'Scary.' he heard the Origin say, 'Let's not try to get on her bad side.'

    'Heh. Seconded.'

To rival someone of her caliber was a dangerous, if not daunting goal to impose on himself - but it was one worth entertaining. And by the time the blacks and whites made haste for the color to fill everything out again, whatever magic that tethered the swarms to their ringleader was destroyed, the picturesque Magnolian skies returning to their usual blue splendor, all at the behest of a single person.

    "...Amazing."
he breathed, the air tasting less of malice with each second passed.

Spectating the vixen and her showcase of power wouldn't have been as easy to digest as it were now had he failed to rid himself of the uncertainty haunting his self-worth. Truthfully, the display wasn't expected to be met without the slightest hint of envy even from the most modest of men; he'd be lying if said he wasn't at all affected, though it hardly mattered when his confidence-set-anew filtered out the pessimist in him at times as critical as these.

'As much as I'd like to dot on your personal development,' the Origin fidgeted, albeit nervously, '...I really think you should pay more attention to the things around you.'

    'Pardo-?'

In the event of things going awry, the swordsman liked to think there was some shred of decisiveness inside his system, somewhere in the marrow of his bones that he happens to summon on a whim. At the mercy of a woman's bosom, however, this proposal would quickly regress into a figment of his imagination as he is, without hesitation, at a loss of how to respond to this kind of dilemma. Cradled between the vixen arms was the swordsman stilled to the bone, his spirit waning in the process as if he'd neared the cusp of death. What had he done to warrant attention from her? Far from just overstepping boundaries, this much skinship should be illegal, for it'd already been more than every other exchange he shared with the opposite sex in his life (for as far as he could remember) combined.

    "I'm...that's m-me..."

A rush of blood stirred into his pale cheeks as he struggled against the woman's hold, words failing him already. "U-um...please...?" the swordsman inhales sharply, as if an unknown lump lodged itself deeply into the pits of his trachea, "...L-let me go...?"

Coherence became more of a second priority when in the presence of a vixen as determined as this one, and thusly, escape demanded the bulk of the thoughts that followed. Torian would be damned not to be at a disadvantage in this vice-grip, if not for the highs and lows of the lady's giggles that hinted at her amusement. The lull of the lady's tails washing over his person only served him further destruction by ways of breaking his self-control, and the young, unbridled twenty-something year old (that was most likely a virgin) behind all those prudent layers ebbed desperately between condemning the attack or succumbing to it altogether.

Then the distance closes even more so and Torian is close to forgetting how to breathe-

'Must feel nice to be alive.' hollered the Origin, words sighed into the open spaces of the Chronicle, 'Ahhh, youth, the peak of human intima-'

    'I dare y-you to finish that word...a-asshole.'

A chuckle - 'That's laudable coming from someone who can't decide whether to leave or st-.'

    'S-SHUT UP!'

Having threatened to slip out of his grip, the swordsman spends one moment of clearance to assert his hold over Kushinada, the blade's angle correcting as his fingers paled from a too-tight clutch. It'd be in a burst of both vehemence and frustration that the blonde would decide to dedicate a second's worth of pause for his Mono no Aware, his person consumed in a spur of blue. One instance he'd been there, in another he'd be elsewhere, his body standing at a preferable distance some few meters away from the vixen.

Torian all but bows, lacking the motivation to look her back in the eye, "I-I'm sorry...! I have...a job to do and um...I have to g-get going soooo...." his figure swivels to a turn, "...Bye-!"

Fleeing might have proved fruitless in the long run really, lest the pretty fox lady exert a small portion of her powers to follow him. Shouldn't take herculean effort to manage, he thought, although Torian placed ample faith in the chances of being left alone, where eliciting a reaction from the poor lad was enough to placate her.

In his head, an ancient spirit wavers, shrugging most likely, 'And here I wonder why you're so frigid with these kinds of things.' he said, 'A man can only go so much without having a bit of fun...why deny yourself of life's simple pleasures?'

Dotting the adjacent streets were creatures that looked positively ominous - black, skitter-y creatures with large beady eyes, fixated on his approaching form. Kushinada is edged back into its sheathe on his prompting, his movements mostly dictated by familiar reactions to swarms. '...We talked about this.' he mumbled back, 'My morals steer me closer to settling down and finding the perfect lady to spend the rest of my life with. Nothing in me wants something fleeting..and, well, expendable.'

His arm sharply arcs back into his waist, brandishing the etherblade in a less than graceful manner. Not that it was spell subject to technicality, rather, the way the vessel would unsheathe Kushinada for this remained trivial regardless; the arising blast potent still as it sent the first line of enemies flying the other way, their bodies lithe and shadowy wriggling from impact.

'How romantic of you~' said the Origin, his essence reassembled after having been 'broken' temporarily for Torian's Kigen-ryuku, 'And? Is there anyone that comes to mind right now with all things said?'

    He hesitated. '...I'm not sure.'

Contrary to their established bickering, the current conversation strangely veers off to a stalemate for reasons inane. On personal standards, Torian did not particularly enjoy addressing questions revolving around his love life (or lack thereof), and hence chose to no longer speak of it. Likewise, the spirit discovered that there was no urgency present in relation to exploring his vessel's heart; if not for his already predisposed knowledge on the subject. Truthfully, the Origin knew too much when it came to the state of the swordsman's affections. He was, after all, constantly spectating the young man's fleeting thoughts and the figures plaguing his dreams as often as needed.

Torian wasn't lying - he really didn't know, having been rendered physically incapable of distinguishing this feeling from that. The sight was at best pitiful, yet the Origin hadn't the heart to mention this in full. Not now, but soon, when the problem became relevant.

    At the moment, however...

'Those thing were rats!' exclaimed the Origin, the ferocity of his tone sounding more than just a little repulsed, 'Are you really going to be attacking those things?! At least do it from a safe distance!'

Far from just ridiculous, the spirit's request was a plea to the one weakness that his magic posed, thusly rendering it a virtually limiting endeavor, not to mention impossible across all aspects. 'Uh...this goes without saying but I'm pretty sure you know that I currently don't have any effective long-range attacks on me.' the slim blade in his hands vibrates a tad, as if confirming the sentiment, 'Yeah, no, we gotta do what we gotta do.'

The Origin clicked his tongue, aversion to the idea quickly sinking into the sound, 'Tch. Fine. It's not my body anyway.'

A bubble of laughter wormed its way out of his throat as he slid the other way in time to the enemy honing in on his position, the sight of his existence fading into the backdrop at the prompting of his Unsan Musho. 'Should have thought of that before whining, you know.' he said, the immediate swarm of rats losing track of their target in response to the spell's influence.

In a comical approach, whatever rebuttal the spirit withheld on the ready died the minute Torian cemented his focus elsewhere, largely ignoring the lofty harumph that bounced off the Chronicle's walls. A legion of glorified rodents skittered around the area in mass confusion and surely he couldn't afford to not concentrate on killing them as quickly as his humanity allowed him. Their size did not particularly bring him disgust, yet the white knight in him chastised his inability to cut their numbers over the past few seconds - wasting time wasn't a luxury that his character could afford in the slightest, he thought.

In his fingers, Kushinada's blade began to corrode underneath a consuming blue flame, breaking apart from the hilt until nothing remained of its silver tang. Torian raised his wrist in an obligatory swing, eyeing the pinpricks of light that shimmered across the street. A rough estimate of ten faint blades responded to the movement of the etherblade's handle, mimicking the motion as they fastened their tips on some free-roaming targets. A slice here and a cut there and several more liberating sweeps of his arm were to be executed within the span of a given minute or less, though who'd be keeping tabs on the footnotes in this situation at all? The swordsman's face tightened as he amassed most of his upper-body strength to the finality of his attack, where the descent of Kushinada's hilt sent the ethereal swords edge-first into the rats' guts, the crimson gush a ghastly picture of the inevitable.

His performance may have paled in comparison to the other three, but it was a development nonetheless helpful in Magnolia's current condition. Torian arrived with his resignations mostly compliant to the fact that he might exhaust more than his capacity here, in this city, but the minor details eluded him. The blonde steeled himself, watching his weapon piece itself back together from handle-up.

"Here comes more..." he whispered, eyeing the other half of the swarm barely darting from a corner of the street.

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] Empty Re: Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura]

Post by Mura Kensho 3rd June 2018, 6:34 am

… She would let go of him any time now. Suffice to say, the rather hedonistic shaman awaited his fresh breath of air as soon as Eris stopped playing around with the back of his head, letting go of the… unbelievably huge and soft sensation that made him question his own morals and decency for a brief time. He didn’t realize it, but a sweat pearl had trickled down his forehead during the meanwhile, and his body temperature was heavily increasing. It wasn’t even unbearable or anything - far from, it was pleasant. Fluff… he could understand Kyuken’s crave for such plays, but he didn’t forget what kept him under control.

The samurai ghost, though, looked at him with raging balls for eyes. The younger brat managed to get all the fun - the type of fun that he, the legendary swordsman, had craved and yearned for over 600 years? And right in front of him, his very vessel was keeping all that fun for himself? Unacceptable! “That’s it; Mura, switch with me-“ Kyuken warned the young samurai as the blue spirit ball dashed right towards the tranced him. Right through his head, Kyuken entered Mura’s subconscious body and pushed the boy’s actual soul aside for the duration. Once again, a physical body… physical pleasure!!!, the samurai ghost thought out loud inside of Mura’s world, taking things under his control as well as the playful vixen.

Hmh… I must think this through… what should I do with adorable Eris here? Depends, what exactly can I do in this short span of time - in the middle of a once a very peaceful environment that is now but an objective for hordes of small gremlin-looking ogres and rat-looking uzai? Oooooooorgh, if we were at the guild hall right now, I wouldn’t mind seeking some revenge for this ‘embarrassing’ act of that fluffy lady. Ah, yes… soft, marshmallow-y knockers, I can’t wait to knead them like kneading 50 pounds of bouncy dough… *cough* hmh, I hope that Mura will forgive me- wait, as if he wouldn’t want to do the same thing! He can’t have any say in this important matter… argh, I’m growing desperate now! All the possibilities; I bet I wouldn’t have hesitated in taking her on in my old, living days - dear Eris, you’re a sight for sore eyes! Chikushō! This deep, burning feeling just won’t let me think thoroughly, I must act immediately! Yes, for the vast and wonderful world that gave me life and experience, let it all burn to ashes in this heatful moment-

Oh, wait. Eris slowly moved away from the shaman now that Kyuken went back to the real world. His deep, inhuman yet possibly human thoughts had interfered with him - ironically - and prevented him the chance of good, bouncy, motorboat rubber fun with Eris. Meanwhile, somewhere within Mura’s conscience, the shaman himself rebelled against the control of his own spirit buddy, shouting and protesting as his own soul was overpowered by the passionately more powerful soul of Kyuken:

“Kyuken! Kyuken, you damp sock, let me out again - I swear, you’re getting out of hand-“

Sadly, his voices weren’t heard. Kyuken was too much into the moment to pay any attention to his own friend.

“At some point, Sorano will notice… I’m sure of it, hmpf.”

A huge shockwave of massing shadows pushed the possessed boy aside, Eris’ fluffy tails turning pitch-black and the fan she was holding transformed into a ‘highly priced’-looking katana with the same theme as herself - a black tint along with golden features. She was going for the one-way only magic circles… that meant that Mura’s plan was cancelled. Poor boy, he would have to use the time he had to figure out how to deal with the issues on earth then. Weird, Eris’ magic sucked away even colors from his own field of view… what kind of magic was she using?

    “Well, apparently, I’d say it’s-“

Ignored. Little Midian wouldn’t have any share in these moments as of now. As Eris swung the empowered katana once, an orb of strange light aimed itself at the summoning circles, obliterating the one on impact and all others who were caught in the huge explosion. The very heaven blitzed down upon them, no colors to be seen other than black and white and white and black… the shaman knew of Eris’ source of magic, her Demon Slayer Magic, but Kyuken was beyond understanding or able to fathom the mass of this magic. It even made the samurai ghost question himself… would he and Mura ever reach the same level?

Probs to Eris for her power and effort, but it couldn’t but make the possessing ghost a little degraded. He simply couldn’t understand how he and Mura were able to catch up to such bright power - mere samurais as they were, a sword couldn’t cut the sky, could it? Obviously, the ghost was reminded of his prideful and painful, sorrowful, regretful life… he thought of himself above the ordinary man, above the ordinary samurai. With his kill count, he found a reason and a pride that he could never separate himself from. The very same pride that caused his downfall so many years ago… and which led him to meet this strange shota. How this world had led him to such destinies was a mere mystery to him… he didn’t exactly know. And that was it - ignorance.

“… Oi, Kyuken… I can hear your confusion,” the boy tried to speak out to the distracted samurai ghost, “*scratch*… too much for you, isn’t it? I apologize- wait, it’s your own fault for taking over my body, so I guess it’s still on you… but let me take the fault this time. You’re already burdened enough… there must be something that I can do to help.” Looking around his consciousness, Mura was set on finding a way to aid Kyuken - apparently, at this moment, their roles were reversed; it was now Kyuken, the fabled samurai that had the aid and support of the conscience of Mura, the young and intriguing shaman. Despite the stupid circumstance, what could Mura do now? Walking around his own, little Du’at or whatever this place of conscience was, Mura sought merely after his own curiosity in order to unlock some spicy traits for Kyuken…

As of now, all that Kyuken could do was charge. The summoning circles were taken care of by their lovely mascot, and Sorano took care of the gremlins in front of him. He was spacing out - the samurai shouldn’t space out now! Where was Harusame again - oh, yeah, on Mura’s left hip! Furiously, the shaman possessed by the disgraced ghost unsheathed Harusame and as his foot rose, the flames generated by the minions were pushed aside by a violent wind. In one step, Kyuken had entered the bigger masses ahead of the group, and occasionally, he would make way for ethereal blades that drilled into the gremlins’ fleshes, presumably caused by Torian’s magic. In his human prowess, Kyuken tried his absolute best; he was fighting with grace and strictness as if he was still alive in the buzz of clashing blades and sharp grasses of Midi. The boy’s body had grown accustomed to the marvelous techniques of his, and Kyuken could perform various, all-clearing slashes effortlessly. Despite the sword show that he was creating, Kyuken wasn’t using magic other than the part where his soul collided with Mura’s flesh… this was all but his own accomplished power, his own fleshed and mortal superpowers. Yet another sign of his jealousy of this magical world… but he hid that behind untamed metal, lashing Harusame directly through the belly of a fire gremlin and ripping its fires off by mere wind to confuse the other gremlins. With the speed that he was moving in, wind became a favored ally; any movement caused a small push of air, almost like air cannons, that could be coordinated to his advantage. The gremlins’ fires had nothing on him…

With rats coming, though, the samurai grew worried. Meanwhile, Mura found that his plane had various attributes that he could unlock - there was a portal to his spirit magic formed as a Goryōshin’s face protecting the glass door along with chains to keep it closed. Another portal had the symbolic pentagram and was covered in veins of all five elements, and obviously, Mura knew exactly what these portals were and how to unlock them. However, another portal stood out from the two others - a portal that seemed intimidating to the shaman at first. It could swallow the two other portals whole, and with its huge, white eyes, he had an idea of what this portal was. “…” He hesitated when seeing this door; was it that good of an idea to release Hades’ magic when Kyuken was in control? Compared to the envious feelings that the samurai had… perhaps he would cope with it. The samurai ghost was able to overpower Mura’s spirit merely with willpower, so this shouldn’t prove that difficult.

Heads began flying everywhere as Kyuken spun elegantly, ending the careers of many gremlins and sending them back to the afterlife. One thing that bugged him, though, was the massive amount of stamina that he had to burn off in order to execute these attacks; Mura wasn’t exactly as rock-buffed as Kyuken, so whatever Kyuken performed needed more strain and more stamina to unfold. Of course, when Mura was using his magic, the spells provided him with stamina to release Kyuken’s techniques upon the poor targets, but like this… without using any magic, he was pushing himself to a corner. And it seemed that, despite Eris closing the gate, there were about a dozen of other enemies who stood out from the fire gremlins further ahead of the street - weaponized beings approximately as tall as the gremlins were heading his way. His breath could be seen emitting from his mouth even in this warm day… compared to shoguns, these were pushing him further than he could take. Darn Mura’s untrained body that just wasn’t exactly trained enough to compete with Kyuken’s old physique!

The door in front of Mura was then grabbed. This was to be a surprise for the samurai ghost who didn’t know how it was to hold such powerful magic by the palm of his hand. “Hey, Kyuken, there’s some magic heading your way-“ Mura warned his ignorant partner as the portal was slowly opened, lashing out black fires that totally consumed the shaman’s soul. Once the door was fully opened, the fires covered the entire plane and the two other portals too, resulting in a massive energy collecting from his physical belly. Kyuken could feel it leak out and recover his stamina along with the visual properties too; just like Eris’ show earlier, this resembled some kind of Shadow Magic that gathered from everywhere to Mura’s center as it then rose up, almost covering the possessed boy in a frightening aura. Accursed marks began appearing on his sweaty skin and his eyes grew dim. As a goblin approached him, its weapon was violently ripped off from its very hand - the hand still holding onto said blade as it was flung off from the body. Leaving the goblin to the blood loss, the possessed shaman threw the blade into the group before dashing into their center himself, every move causing a small gust to rise up and push anyone aside. Making sure to stay away from his own companions, Mura - or rather Kyuken - would then release havoc upon the small group, from expert swordsman skills to erupting fires from Tartarus itself, all resulting in a huge crater appearing in the middle of the wide street. Thankfully calculated as more casualties weren’t tolerated by the ghost or by the boy.

“*huff*… *huff*… t-this is too much for me to bear,” the swordsman spoke under his troubled breath, watching his own vision blur and indiscriminate friend and foe. He would have to be careful if he wished to secure Magnolia without becoming its own enemy…

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] 9eQE92W

    Noheme Fairy Tail H-Rank

Naturally, a burst of laughter escaped from the vixen the moment she heard even just one word from the blond male that was at her mercy at this very moment. The immeasurable difference between his words just prior to her approach and those he tried to push out while stuttering, it said everything about him to the goddess. Despite her inability to properly read people that were around her, this individual was just no better than a perfectly open book with giant letters that only a blind fool would miss. At least her laughter from this situation was not a malicious or cruel one, she was simply amused.

After all, this might have just been the reaction she was always looking for when ‘attacking’ others with her flirting. Males or females, it did not matter to her as long as she could entertain herself like this. Whether she would get a cold shoulder or actually have some physical fun as well, as long as she was not bored, that was all that mattered. But once again, she was not totally malicious. Washing her tails over the boy once more, she would give his back a light push forward and float backward herself to create some distance between them now.

Though a giant grin remained on her face ever after the fact, she was at least not assaulting anyone right now. Strangely, she was now also in a very good mood unlike moments back. This whole invasion was a pain in one’s behind, but it did enable her to witness something truly unique and innocent. For that, she was almost even grateful. She was sure to commit these moments into her memory properly, too. Thank goodness that creatures such as herself, god-like beings, were quite capable when it came to such matters. She even still remembered her very first days alive.

That aside, she looked around once more. She closed the gate enemies were using to get here, but that was hardly the end of it all. People all around were quite literally too shocked by her spectacle of an attack to even move, but the monsters recovered rather swiftly from that overwhelming display of power. Strangely, they decided to continue their raid on this town rather than trying to retreat and regroup. Perhaps they were aware that they were disposable pawns that were meant to die in this fruitless siege? Ah, what poor creatures indeed.

The other mages swiftly started contributing as well, using their powers to deal with this rather silly threat at once. Giggling to herself, the vixen stretched and then assumed a ready position. In a single instant, the ground beneath and even behind her would crack, shattering as her feet moved forward and greater force than the material could withstand. With almost blinding speed, she would go right by Torian while giving him a teasing wink, if he was even able to notice it at that moment. But to his luck, she did not stop to tease him some more.

Instead, she continued forward and then to the side, deeper into the city. A journey that only took a fraction of a second, really. Stopping just as abruptly as she sped up, the vixen created a small crater beneath her curvy form and looked around. The shock-wave created by her movement was powerful enough to knock few of the enemies into nearby walls and other obstacles, it seemed. This was exactly the reason why she never seemed to have any fun anymore. Even just moving from one spot to another was sometimes enough to damage her opponents, or outright kill them.

There was a certain price to be paid for gaining so much power. And she did not mean that in a way of making a deal with a demon in order to obtain an unlimited power. Though she did know something about a situation like that from a personal experience… thankfully she had not seen Lilith in literal ages, which was about as good as she could hope for these days. But no, what she meant was the curse of boredom. Especially for someone like herself, who was always excited by the flow of battle ahead of her.

She would dash forward into the swarm of enemies that seemed almost too tough to fight, clawing her way to victory even if it would mean her body being torn into pieces in the process. She was someone who was born with a heart of a warrior. But after she obtained what the Magical Council called an H-rank, she just… had to stop. Whenever she would try to fight, her opponent would be shredded by her claws in an instant. Her magic so powerful that it ascended above the normal plain, her magical energy becoming impossible to be sensed by those who were below her own rank.

Without even wanting to, she had lived up to what she always called herself - a God. Frankly, it just made her sigh in disbelief. Her origin… was she destined to be born this powerful? Unlike most individuals in this world, she came to be with power already equal to that of an A-ranked mage. Her journey was so much shorter than everyone else’s, it made her actually jealous at times. Looking at her own hand, she could not help but wonder just how different everything could have been if only she had been born a normal human rather than… whatever she even was.

Or perhaps that was the wrong way of looking at it all. After all, her ‘sister’ Leila had a journey much longer, or at least that was how it seemed from her stories when they used to spend most of their days together. Even that was over now, both of the girls having their own problems and responsibilities to occupy themselves with. Noheme could only wonder what her kin was up to these days, leading her own guild and much more. Compared to that, did this goddess even really accomplish anything?

Shaking her head, she refused to think about it. She was already far too deep in her own thoughts today, she had to stop this before she would become like these old granny-type gods that lived so long that they became insane. She definitely did not want to end up like that, no way. She would probably end her own life before she would meet such a dumb fate. Scratching the back of her head, the vixen’s golden locks danced in the wind for a while before she noticed that there was something going on right next to her.

It appeared to be some sort of tiny goblin with a stone sword, swinging it against her. Though, suffice to say, it was highly ineffective. His weapon with its crude design was easily bouncing off the goddess’ body as if her clothes and skin themselves were powerful armor. In truth, that was just her magical energy gardening the fabric on top of her body, as well as all organic matter in her physical body. It was actually kinda amusing. Suddenly, Noheme grinned and looked around to spot many more of these creatures all around her.

She always complained about not having a strong enough opponent to fight, but… how about bullying someone weak? Perhaps that would be fun, no? After all, she enjoyed teasing people around her with flirting. That was kinda similar, right? Yes! She had to try it! Taking a deep breath, along with equally great exhale, magical energy quite literally sparked all over her body for an instant. The goblin that was oh so desperately trying to harm her probably did not even have enough time to figure out what happened. The vixen moved far faster than these creatures could perceive, even if they focused really hard.

Grabbing the creature by its face, she felt it’s mushy skin on her palm as she tossed the creature into the air in front of her. Whether such extreme change in momentum snapped its neck or not, she had no clue. But either way, she was not done with it just yet. From her hand, something like a black string would shoot out and wrap itself around the goblin’s leg. It was really just a solidified shadow she made, but it would do the trick. Making it deliberately shorter, she suddenly swung her hand to the side and the string along with it.

She effectively created a very weak wrecking ball on a string that she started swinging around like a toy. Naturally, she aimed the goblin at other enemies that were around in order to smash them against each other. Though she also managed to get some more with the string on the way. Who knew that shadows could become solid and rather sharp if they had such powerful magical source attached to them. Perfect for decapitating the girl just learned. The only shame was that the goblin’s body did not last all that long, ending her fun prematurely.

Retracting the string from the now bloody pile of green mush, she sighed and looked around some more. Fortunately for her, there was still more to go around! More specifically, there were rather odd looking wasps in the air above the town. They radiated with magical energy, clearly indicating that they were with the other monsters that invaded. Crouching and then leaping up, Noheme only made the crater that was already beneath her feet all the larger as she flew through the air, clutching the katana in her hand. With a single motion of her hand, a dozen of the bugs was suddenly cleaved in half.

Given the momentum she gained from her jump, she should have continued flying up as well, but she did not. Her feet suddenly started leaving a black trail in the air, as if one was trying to drag their feet on a dirt path and leaving behind a bunch of dust. She infused her element with the air, which allowed her to simply walk on the many different particles that air contained as if they were perfectly solid matter. Performing several spins, her sword also left behind black shadow trails that continued on, slaying even wasps far away.

As if she was dancing, the vixen moved about in the air in a rather elegant manner, her white and purple kimono playing a game of tag with the flow of air all around her. But the performance was quickly interrupted by something unexpected. A ball of holy energy flew right at her, though she had little trouble dodging to the side. Looking down, it was not hard to find the source of this magic. A dead man standing, possessed by one of the wasps that crawled into his mouth after he died to one of the monsters.

So that was their special power, eh? Well, it did not matter. She was not going to shy away from cutting apart a walking corpse if that was the enemy. Past ally, enemy, bystander, it did not matter to her. An attack was thrown and that meant a fight. She smiled faintly as she started walking down the invisible stairs of air toward the possessed corpse, observing it keenly. Couple more balls of holy energy were sent her way, but she did not even bother dodging this time. Simply swinging her weapon couple of times, she sliced the attacks like nothing.

Holy energy… many thought that it was her greatest weakness because her primary element was a shadow. That she was afraid of the light. But they could not have been further from the truth. After all, she was a demon slayer. And demons are the ones who tend to be rather weak against holy energies. That was why her shadows were infused with a holy aspect, creating a fusion that was almost impossible to achieve under regular circumstances. A dance of white and black, that was her power. One foot in the darkness and one in the light, the demonic angel descended.

And the moment her feet touched the ground, a powerful eruption nearly shook the entire town. Whether the corpse acted in a way it would when it was alive or if the wasp was actually directly controlling it, it was clearly not learning. It might have created a pillar of light right beneath Noheme when she touched down, but it should have seen her abilities by now. The attack was not instant and before the light could even reach the goddess, she already moved forward and swung her sword, not intending to miss.

The pillar of light that reached the very skies now faded away as the vixen stood behind the corpse, almost looking as if she had teleported there in that instant. Only for the reanimated corpse to fall into two symmetrical halves a moment later, from its insides falling an equally cleaved wasp. With yet another sigh, she assumed her regular stance as if there were no more threads and sealed her weapon back into its hand-held fan form. “Nope, no joy after all. Oh well… looks like the enemies should be finished any moment now, so I guess I’ll head back now. Maybe there will be a cute girl and guy somewhere along the way…

And so she did just as she said, heading through the streets that were flooded with corpses of demons and humans alike. All this was rather silly to her. She had no real interest in participating in these almost childish conflicts, yet she almost always found a way to fit in. Whether that was good or bad, well... she had no idea, really. At the very least she closed the portal those monsters were using and killed at least a few of the enemies while she was at it. So there was that. But other than that, yeah, she never really tried to save anyone who happened to be around her at the moment, did she? Oh well, it was just another day in the world of magic.

Even as the mages all got to work, flares of light and energy bombarding the letter mage’s senses as spells were cast around her, it was not fighting that was particularly intense in any way. Somehow, despite the threat of hundreds of monsters crawling all over the place, the atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed. Perhaps it was due to the mages’ combined power level (which was nothing at all to scoff at), or their loose comradery. Either way, there was none of the usual urgency nor tedious air that often existed when Sorano was hired for miscellaneous tasks around the country. Instead…could this sort of situation be described as almost festive? Almost like a get-together between friendly mages who just happened to have gathered to fight some monsters. Had the girl possessed emotions, she would have chuckled at the thought – but alas, her heart remained untickled, and she continued moving with that same cold expression. Watching carefully as the rats were slowly singed away under the light of her holy energy, the letter mage waited almost impatiently for them to die off already so she could move on to her next opponent.

So it had gotten to this point, huh…while Sorano was by no means as tremendously powerful as the goddess whom she currently fought alongside, her power levels had indeed risen to a point where it was almost frighteningly easy for the girl to kill – a single gesture of the hand could take out a group of lower-level monsters easily, and simpler tasks of elimination was nearly a dull chore at the most. In a way, it made the guild master once more question her humanity: was it even natural to treat such a situation with this sort of casual nonchalance? Perhaps she would have to set in stone even more rules for herself – more ways to better fit into the society around her. Had they not existed, she would likely truly be seen as completely and utterly nonhuman by those around her.

However, even as her own thoughts grew more and more depressing, an energetic commotion from where Eris and Mura had been standing caused the mage to turn her head, keeping the field of light up around her even as the girl’s dark eyes narrowed to try and pick out what was happening.

Having worked with the shaman mage for a while, Sorano would naturally have grown accustomed to the multitude of auras that constantly either surrounded him or were somehow embedded within him. It was a common trait of many summon or spirit mages, and Kyuken was one she was particularly well acquainted with due to frequent interaction with the ace. However, unlike the usual overlapping auras of human and ghost, Kyuken’s aura was unusually dominant in her vision, something that typically only happened if Mura was allowing the spirit to take over for increased fighting abilities. Yet, looking at the scene, Eris had just released the poor boy from her crushing embrace, leaving the figure looking slightly wobbly on his feet. He hadn’t been in any sort of combat…had he? Had something out of the ordinary happened, perhaps? Due to her most atypical structure of thought, the obvious conclusion would escape even the child prodigy’s mind. The situation simply seemed  off to the letter mage, and Sorano would begin to consider whether or not to let go of her current spell to move over and take a look at what was happening.

It was only now as she released the dome of light, leaving behind an almost comical amount of rat corpses before jogging towards the rest of the group that slowly her mind began piecing together the clues. With Kyuken’s overtly gleeful emotions, Mura’s rather agitated – not a fearful agitation, more lighthearted – swirls of color, it gradually dawned upon her that this had been a situation borne of mere foolish human lust – no more than that. A frown spread itself across the girl’s face, wondering whether she should step in or not before deciding to leave it be. Becoming a strict and commanding leader wasn’t something that people enjoyed from her, right? Besides, the shaman should be more than capable of dealing with this by himself. Instead, the letter mage turned to scribble a loose line of letters through the air, feeling the slippery coil of energy swirl over her body, wrapping about her in a rope of pulsating energy. Carefully, the letter mage would lift a piece of the spell out of its place, slashing the rope down through another horde of rats. In fact – wasn’t that generally most of what was here? There had been a few nasty-looking gremlins hanging around a while back, but most seemed to have been decimated by now.

Moving easily through the crowds of the slippery creatures, Sorano would take a moment to peer back at the group she’d left behind, only to find that the sly fox seemed to have found herself another victim. Embracing the flustered swordsman from behind (she could see the furious whirling of his emotions in the moment), Eris seemed completely unconcerned with any fighting around them as always, while Torian seemed far too distracted by the presence of the voluptuous woman to be fighting much at all…were they actually going to get anything done anymore? A small shake of her head cast the letter mage’s gaze away from the strangely lighthearted scene amidst the chaos and panicked villagers, and she would swipe the rope of energy across the vermin around her once more as she turned to look for the shaman again. This time, at least he seemed to be doing some fighting.

Moving elegantly in a way that only the ancient ghostly samurai could manage, he easily decapacitated many of the gremlin. Well alright, he seemed to be doing fine. Turning around just in time to miss the shadows that the shaman had magically instilled his body with, instead reaching around to ward off a knobbly-looking goblin around with another swipe of her energy-instilled whip, the material melting away under her fingertips as it connected, Sending the creature willing, Sorano quickly retrieved another one of the weapons from the remaining snake around her body, splitting the creature in half with a sharp, harsh movement, then moving on.

With a turn of her foot, the letter mage would then be brought to observe the brutal, powerful attacks of the resident kitsune. Easily lifting a goblin and using its body to decapacitate its companions, Eris’ extraordinary power levels once more awed the girl. How had she even achieved such levels of power? For even while the woman’s magic was present in the black tendril she had created, little energy could be seen working at all. So little, and shown in such a way that Sorano could only assume that the levels were simply far too high for her to possibly sense. And that, in a way, would have been terrifying. But in the end, Eris was on their side for now. While it was all too likely that the woman could switch into an enemy with ease, it would be best for her to take advantage of the goddess’ abilities for now and keep Magnolia safe. It was a move that would certainly improve their reputation, as well as strengthen Magnolian loyalty towards the Fairy Tail guild.

On the other hand, Torian seemed to have recovered from the goddess’ attack by now and had also lifted his sword to fight. The disgust was evident in his aura as the blonde swordsman’s blade moved with ease of long practice, the blade curling up into a streak of blue flames and releasing a deadly flurry of swords into the fray. The rats should be soon exterminated with all the people focusing on them, so the letter mage turned instead to head off a trio of goblins bounding towards a terrified crowd of civilians. “Please duck, everyone…” Calling out in a crisp tone to the innocents, the letter mage released another whip of energy, slapping the creatures aside in a powerful attack. However, being tougher than her previous opponents so far, the nasty creatures rebounded after a momentary pause, coming back with spinning clubs grasped tightly in their warty hands, leaping agilely over any obstacles in their way to get to the letter mage. However, it seemed that they had somewhat underestimated Sorano, striking so directly. In another easy move, the rope curled around their legs, pulling the goblins into a wall that the girl easily created with a spinning of her free hand. The transparent letters would quickly spring up in a burst of magic, forming a powerful surface that the monsters would be roughly slammed into. Jeering battle cries transformed into choked gasps as they hit the wall, the whip disintegrating into ethernanos around them while the letter mage reached down to retrieve another one from her diminishing supply.

As the creatures scrabbled weakly on the ground to escape, Sorano would almost lazily create harmless bursts of light that sparked roughly in their faces, blinding their pale, rheumy eyes and leaving the wretched creatures utterly helpless. With that done and over with, it was child’s play to slay them with powerful slices of her magic. It was a spell she found that she was favoring even more and more recently – with the versatility that the river of energy offered, Sorano could play around with all sorts of tactics in fighting. The range and multiple hits factors were quite beneficial as well, allowing her to keep it up for as long as was needed to do what had to be done. In this case, that would be defeating the remaining monsters – something that could be easily done.

Well, or so she thought until a rough hand grasped the girl’s shoulder, fingernails digging into the thin fabric. Whirling about with the stream of energy following her wrists movement, the letter mage barely caught her assaulter with the rope as the fabric tore under filthy fingers. Except…wasn’t this a civilian? Eyes widening with horror, the letter mage’s fingers flew through the air in an effort to revitalize the young woman, whose eyes were blank and still with horror. What had she done? Why hadn’t she been more careful? If she had indeed killed the woman…wouldn’t that shatter everything the guild master had worked to create? However, upon closer inspection, a faint buzzing sound could be heard from within the woman’s head. The aura warrior narrowed her eyes in suspicion, and as expected – a swarm of monstrous auras were sitting within the woman’s skull, their flashing auras easily overtaking that of the woman’s now faded one. She was long dead, before the letter made had struck. This was someone who had become a mere puppet to the horrid creatures by now, someone who would never be able to return to normal life. It would only be merciful to destroy the body, freeing it from the parasitic swarm that was now housed within.

To the horror of those around her, the letter mage quickly cleaved the head into two with a powerful swipe of her weapon, breaking open the skull to an explosion of blood and gore, as well as deadly wasps spiraling out of the cavity of the cranium. Sorano’s expression grew grim along with the civilians’ cries of horror at the gruesome sight. That the monsters were this advanced…she herself would have to be cautious as well.

She’d have to work fast, too – the nasty insects were already spreading apart to infect even more unfortunate people, and Sorano had no time to waste. Quickly moving the unfortunate corpse to the edge for someone to retrieve and properly bury later (she’d have to hold some sort of meeting or announcement about regretting all the deaths and being terribly sorry later, wouldn’t she? Ah…even more work to add to her ever-growing pile), the letter mage’s fingers once again spelled out a spell in the air. It wasn’t one she had used much as of yet, being one she’d recently developed. With a practiced flick of her wrist, Sorano directed the fifty ice bullets formed out into the crowd of bees, sweat dripping down her face as she directed them to freeze the creatures where they were. Although the insects were very many, they were still mere bugs in the end. With her massive number of bullets freezing the swarm in the air where they flew, even kililer wasps such as these were unable to fight back sufficiently.

The frozen orbs would drop to the ground, gravity doing its work as well as always, and the letter mage used her last remaining length of energy to eliminate the last few buzzing frantically around, barely escaping a sting but receiving a self-inflicted blow in return. Having moved it far too close to her own body in order to destroy the monster, a streak of magical burn now ran down her left arm, pain prickling into her bones. However, by now, it seemed that few monsters remained standing, and those that did were being dealt with by the others. It would be a good idea for her to step out now in her current condition – while it wouldn’t seem as though a self-inflicted blow would be all that unbearable, Solid Script Stream was one of her most powerful. This wound was not one that could be fixed with a quick healing spell, and the horrible sensation that radiated from the seared flesh was not one she would be able to bear for much longer. A quick healing spell would be cast, freeing her mind from the manic grasps of pain, and the letter mage would leave the battlefield with a weak wave back at Torian and Mura. How unfortunate…

it may sound absurd but don't be naive
even heroes have the right to bleed
Off to one fork in Magnolia's roads is a gathering most unpleasant. Limping over the gaps in the cobblestone were the sentient corpses of those who've once perished, however reanimated at the whimsies of some greater evil that Torian could care less about now, even if he wanted to. Suffice to say, there was not a shred of energy in his bones that could be spared for thoughts past this point, if only because he'd been careless enough to misuse it beforehand.

Fighting at the rearguard, where none too many wizard-folk exhausted themselves for, was a decision he couldn't recommended to men as inexperienced as he. He'd discover this truth far too late for it to be useful, though.

"...Hn." a pair of shuttering breaths come tearing through his lungs, "I feel...faint..."

To pursue the lone swarm in earnest...might not also have been the finest example of his strategic ploys at current time. Not only was it deemed disadvantageous to have been separated from the strongest players on the board, but he quite literary painted himself into a corner after choosing to accost the threats at his own musings - without forethought, even, the gull! Although surely the courage he so adamantly paraded half-way across the streets amounted to something - even if aiding what little force Magnolia injected into the rear was inefficient for his limits, it'd been enough to sanctify the resurgence of monsters in the residential area.

But the baseline was cruel, he thinks, to be rendered unconscious from exhaustion was not an outcome that Torian wished to indulge; yet, he might need to, considering the lull of sleep felt like the better alternative after the umpteenth swing as he sat there, weak and sore but glued to the tops of a nearby house nonetheless. At first, the location was no more than his scapegoat from the congo line of zombies that run amuck, him knowing fully well that he long lost his credibility to fight once he'd gobbled up most of his ethernano in scattered rat fights. Countless minutes of lapsing stares later pass and suddenly Torian loses the interest to pay attention to anything, absorbed into the four walls of his little bubble.

He inhales, sharply, his figure spread out across the surface of the roof. "...A small rest...might not be too bad..."

Transient images of the fond kind seemed to flicker and flutter listlessly through his head upon no one's prompting, not like that detail mattered in particular to him, no...not at a rate where sleep threatened to silence any hesitation he still continued to harbor. He breathes out, once, to relax, if anything, and later resumes to recall with endearment the moments leading up to his ascent to the rooftop, the snippets running along like a vignette film.

There no longer was a substance to these cluster of thoughts that dug through as time marched on for him, but they at least served their purpose of putting his concerns at ease, to remind the boy that he did, to his extents, fought alongside the three. Regardless if not in similar fashion or flare, he dealt with his share and somehow it was enough. He was satisfied, and the feeling was nothing less than liberating while he continued to recuperate.

Oh, but what would become of his sleeping bum once the chaos dwindled? Would he wake to the horrified faces of the house owners while they confronted him? The situation amused him a little, but not as much as the palpable tremors that rumbled through the ground, shaking the house to one side and the next. It'd been strange to think that he'd been in close proximity with a few mages that ought to be revered, the very ground they inhabit seemingly divine and otherworldy and yet...they were no less a part of Magnolia, like the walls that run up the city's peripherals.

'Heh. They were really cool.' he thought, the haze of sleep dotting inconsistencies into his speech, 'Sure would be nice to watch them fight again...someday...'

Underneath the shadow of his hood and the comfort of closed eyelids, the world could only steady into stillness.

    So he slept.

    - - - -

The dreamless sleep that followed after is a repose he didn't know he needed until he's triggered awake by a cold, ice-y breeze. Stirring, Torian split his back from the roof, sitting upward in shaky fashion as he regarded his surroundings with as much interest as a person fresh from slumber could offer. Magnolia had been swaddled gently into its nighttime mood, the sky dotted with tiny white pinpricks of light and the air oddly not reeking of blood or spite or anything inhumane, for that matter. He blinked, four times at a set interval, and carefully peeled his presence from the rooftop to a stand.

Something about the lampposts and the houselights felt all too surreal as he looked on, realizing with a heavy heart that the ache was a familiar one that he'd taste once or twice whenever he stood at the precipice of a cliff or the tops of several hills; there he'd marvel at cities and towns, mystified, but pained. Part of him, lodged deep into his subconscious perhaps, yearned for a far more beautiful place, wherever that was. Fiore might've fostered the concept for the longest time but it still did not satisfy Torian's urge to go, leave, find that place that which his body and soul may rest easy - a 'home', perhaps.

"...Best to get a move on."

Before he voluntarily deployed himself to Magnolia, the train he boarded was en-route to  Hargeon, with the intention of catching a ship that sailed for Seven in a day or two. Had the monsters failed to lay siege, then there'd be no need for him to make amends to his schedule. There's been very little progress on the issue of both his memories and the search for 'that place', but he'd been a man of the road since day one; his determination to remain not the least bit bothered by detours was already as insurmountable as it could get.

He chuckled - "It shouldn't hurt to stay in this city for another day."

And he probably would, not forgetting to pay the local wizarding guild a tiny, if not friendly visit.

Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura] Empty Re: Let's Manage the Monsters Properly [Monster Management Event - Torian/Sorano/Noheme/Mura]

Post by Mura Kensho 16th June 2018, 12:54 pm

… The sound of insects infuriated the possessed shaman. It was way too loud to be ignored, and the spirit of Kyuken inside Mura’s body began bristling in disbelief. Wasps… they were larger than ever! Large, enormous! They began approaching the group from the middle of town, and the swordsman feared that they might have already gotten a good amount of the citizens. Fearing the worst, he dashed forward furiously, each step cracking the ground beneath him. His black aura wouldn’t disappear yet, it had just begun to aid him. The amount of magic power left to supply him with was yet unknown, but it brought back memories of the Water Village and the vampires. It also reminded him of that time…

Out in the desert. It passed Kyuken’s field of vision for a brief moment, the image of sand and a strange, alluring lady… yet intimidating and frightening aura surrounding her. There was darkness everywhere after that… and another moment would pass until a wasp suddenly made its way in front of his face. With a flick of his wrist, Harusame was swung across its body, leaving the intruding insect cut in half. With that, he would charge further ahead, letting the others take care of the rest of the gremlins and whatever made it this far. It was midtown that havoc felt the strongest… he hoped that the wasps hadn’t gotten to too many yet, hopefully none had fallen victims to the insects as the city was alarmed and alerted.

Yet it was so saddening to see the body of a cloaked knight in the middle of the street. Braking his feet, the possessed shaman suddenly got a little headache - he began seeing spirits of both friends and foes wander around him, and the buzz really hurt his head. “A-Argh…” he let out whilst holding a hand on his forehead. The samurai ghost wasn’t used to the psyche and patience of the shaman, and with this reaction, he overlooked the sudden movements of the supposedly deceased body of the knight.

“Kyuken!” Mura shouted within the void-like world, “Kyuken, damn it! You’re not supposed to space out like that!” He tried his best to get to the samurai ghost’s ears, but being a mere soul in a body that wasn’t possessed by its rightful owner was… difficult. What now? He saw the events happening almost in slowmotion, and Kyuken looked like as if he was having a headache. Their differences in body structure - from the fabled swordsman 600 years ago to his - really meant a lot in their ways of combat and how they intervened. If anything, Mura had to - he needed to - get a hold on his body again. Starting off as a mere joke to embrace Eris’ voluptuous figures, Kyuken had drawn it out way too far, and he was suffering the consequences from that mistake. The only thing that the shaman could was to return order, and… well, how exactly did you possess a corpse? He knew that possessing a dead corpse would turn you into an undead of sorts, but other than that, he had no idea how Kyuken was able to enter his body and grant him the benefits of his control. Heck, how did the samurai ghost take control at all? It was a matter of ‘total possession’ that Mura hadn’t even accepted, so… was it something special that Kyuken was able to do, or was it a side effect from something? Mura had never had troubles or issues with his spirit magic like this before, it was frightening…

Very well, he had to find a way. Assuming the power of the will, he simply went with the fact that when Kyuken was allured, he let his soul take control of Mura’s body… unintentionally. Souls were mirrors of your person, anyone could wield your body, but the soul stayed unique. It was the epitome, the center and coffin of all uniqueness of a person. Scratching his chin, he managed to conclude that he had to want something more than Kyuken - and now that the samurai ghost was having headaches, it would prove easier than expected. In the very wish of saving his town, his home, Kyuken felt a change happen from within Mura’s flesh. His vision suddenly blurred as his eyes followed the leaving of Mura’s body as if he was being pulled up by someone yet the body stood right there.

It took him long enough. Zirconis had gone lost in the city during the craze, but he was just as sharp as the shaman himself. Pulling the samurai ghost out of Mura’s body, the shaman managed to return to the world of the living once more, assuming his role in the defense. He was quite far away from the rest… he would have to signal their victory. And he knew just how to.

With a clenched fist, he swung a punch upwards that resulted in the area and the possessed knight to be covered in a mountain of emerald. Before one could even begin to describe its size and form - poof, and the emerald dissolved into a green mist that began to focus shards in certain areas, forming the very crest of the Fairy Tail Guild far up in the air for all of mother Magnolia to see.

Silence and peace was restored, and with that - plus the suddenly lacking shirt of Mura’s - he took a look at his surprisingly unharmed bracer. Typing in a few letters, a screen of Capital Crocus as background as well as Sogeki and Haru appeared. They were taking care of the same type of issue that connected the two towns together - most likely, this happened many other places, and it was a relief that wizards from this world were working on it.

    “… hmh, yeah… don’t worry. Little Maggy’s safe…”
