    Zanobia Chikelu

The soft wind carrying various leaves through the streets of Magnolia made Zanobia and Athumani feel more and more at home. It was a slightly stormy day in the city of fairies, the sky producing a dark overcast while it rained. The rain was in the middle of a heavy rain and a drizzle, being perfect to walk through. Of course, the streets of Magnolia were cleared because of the rain besides the few people walking on the outsides with umbrellas, the rest standing under covers on the exteriors of buildings and doing various things inside their houses and workplaces. It was a rare sight to see what was traveling through the streets of Magnolia, as it was a rare sight to spot the rare dinosaur known as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. As he waked down the streets with Zanobia on his back, the water slowly bounced off of his skin and onto the ground below him, slightly bouncing upward as the thuds on the ground were produced by his heavy feet. As they traveled through the streets of this heavily populated town, those standing on the outskirts of the streets seemed to gawk in awe and terror as their eyes met the t-rex, his sharp teeth overlapping his bottom-section of his mouth as he walked. Athumani did have an overbite, which made him reflect just how cute he was in addition to his personality. He paid no attention to those looking at him like he was a terrifying monster, as he knew that he was safe with Zanobia riding upon his back. He was a gentle giant despite his sharp teeth and thick skin, as if he were a giant puppy; he would never even hurt a fly.

"And you'll never get sad, and you'll never get sick..." Zanobia told the dinosaur as she pet his back, leaning in for a large hug as he walked through the city. After she had hugged him, she leaned back upward and began to look around for a place they could stop, as she wanted to drink her blue raspberry slushie. Sure, she could have drunk it on his back as they rode through the town to their next destination, but she felt like it would be much easier to drink it on solid ground. Her hair waving back and forth as he walked through the town, she quickly tapped his back in order to get his attention. "Over there... I want to drink my slushie there." she pointed toward what appeared to be an office-building of sorts, that of which caught her attention by a beautiful looking tree on the right side of its entrance. Responding to what she had asked him to do, he began to walk toward the building and down its pathway toward its entrance, his face meeting the sign that appeared to read "Fairy Tail" as she stood on his back. As her eyes met the letters above its door, she payed no attention to them, quickly hopping off his body and onto the ground under her with a steady landing.

Walking over to the tree that sat by its entrance and holding a large slushie in hand, she slumped down with her back to the tree and held the drink with both of her hands. With the leaves delicately falling from the tree as the wind blew, Athumani stood in the pathway in-front of the entrance and calmly laid down, leaving just enough room for the doors to open all the way and for members to walk in-between them and the dinosaur's side. As she took sips of her slushie, she began to cause some of the long blades of grass around her feet to levitate and intertwine with each-other, as if she was weaving them together. Athumani watched the grass fold as his eyes began to slowly shut, falling asleep to the sound of the trees rustling and faint sounds of the slushie being sucked up into her mouth. One was tired, the other was simply thirsty, as they had been riding for nearly six hours. Their destination was to return back to the Ghafi grounds, but Zanobia felt as though taking a break wouldn't hurt. After all, she did not figure that she was in-front of a building with large significance, as she did not even know what a guild truly was. As she picked up more and more of the blades of grass to weave into the others, she slowly sipped her slushie, her hair and clothes beginning to dry as the sun peeked out from the clouds and shone through the tree branches.

Rina was having a pleasant day at the guild and decided a job would make it feel more exciting. As she went and grabbed the sheet of paper she felt a rumble and started to shake. It didn't feel like an earthquake but the steps were deep and heavy as though something big was coming. As she looked at the door she felt herself fall ripping the request for a job in half. She said to herself "What is that and why today of all days?" She made a deep sigh and decided to go outside where she would see a monstrosity that would scare the life out of her. She exited the tiny office building to see a little girl drinking her smoothie. She appeared to be riding on top of something. Rina looked down and saw something scaly and big and toothy and scary. She began to hyperventilate as she fell to the ground and crawled backwards in fear from the big scary monster. She definitely would not have seen this in the alleyway she used to call home.

Throbbing shook the city, jerking Sorano up from her desk, looking around wildly for what could have possibly caused such an interruption. Magnolia had been a peaceful place since the return of Fairy Tail. After all, the guild had been the cause of most the city’s problems, and only after they had calmed down had the city calmed down as well. There shouldn’t be any cause for such a disruption, right? Or was it an earthquake? It was a possibility – they weren’t too far inland from the ocean, but earthquakes in this part of Fiore were usually rare. As the throbbing through the city grew stronger and stronger, Sorano leaned over to grab at the lacrima, trying to see if there was any report on an earthquake or other disturbance in the area. Nothing.

Suddenly, it stopped. Everything was still again, except for the faint sounds of confusion from outside. Frowning, the letter mage stood up, pressing her palm to the wall and transforming it into glass, allowing her to look outside. What the hell? Sorano’s eyes widened at the site of a dinosaur even taller than the building, a tyrannosaurus rex standing leisurely outside the guild hall. What in the world? Instantly, she tore open the door, rushing as fast as she could out into the front of the guild. Soon, she was joined by Hoshi who looked absolutely terrified. “Sorano… Why is there a dinosaur outside? I thought none existed in Fiore!”

Sorano shook her head slowly, equal parts uncomfortable and fascinated by this strange phenomenon. Directing her gaze around the area, she spotted a hyperventilating Rina in the corner. “Hey, Hoshi… Can you try to calm Rina down? She looks like she’s about to pass out.” Nodding faintly herself, the exceed hurried to Rina’s side, encouraging her to take deep breaths.

The guild master then approached the large creature, wondering if it could speak like exceeds and various other magical creatures in Earthland could. However, as she looked more closely, she could see a strange girl who obviously wasn’t from here, contentedly slurping a slushie without looking at all perturbed by the dinosaur. Well, it was easy enough to make that connection there, then. “Um, excuse me miss, but are you the companion of this fine tyrannosaurus rex?”

All had been well, as of late. The guild had settled into its new lifestyle and lived their days peacefully. Sorano had spent a large portion of her time in the office or out and about by herself, Mura doing something akin to that. To no surprise, of course, Ezra had found himself holed in his own office most days as well. The smell of paper and plastic lacrima-powered computers became a scent all too familiar for him, and quickly adopted it as the smell of home. But despite his busy and dreadfully boring life, he wasn't unhappy, and found ways to decompress from a wizard's busied lifestyle.

Ezra sighed, leaning back in his chair and running large hands through long, messy, black locks. The reading spectacles which he had comfortably wore pressed against his face and made his ears ache. So, wearily, he plucked them off, folded them, and placed them on his hopelessly unorganized desk, scattered documents and an almost comically full ashtray covering the wooden surface. Droopy eyes rolled between the desk, the exit to his office, and the windows that covered the walls, realizing that the passing day filled the building with gloom since it had began to rain. Little light poured in from the overcast of storm clouds, and the stuffy office smell began to grossly irk him.

Ezra rose from his seat, stretching about in the black tank top that loosely stuck to his skin, and the long cargo pants that clung to his long legs. Quickly, he ambled out of his space and into the public facility, where only about half a dozen men and women darted about from desk to desk, exchanging papers or a few words. It happened to be a normal day, as it usually would've been. Lazily, he reached into his back pocket and retrieved an already used pack of cigarettes, plucking one from the six remaining and into another pocket for his lighter. He quickly put the cigarette between parted lips, clicked his thumb on the lighter and raised it to the tip of it. But before the flame to spark, he flinched. "Ah, right. . . can't smoke inside, can I?" he hummed, the hand descending to his side and legs taking him to the exit of the building.

The chatter was quiet and became like static to the man as he ambled along, the unlit cigarette patiently waiting in his mouth. As he approached the doors, the quiet chatter began to bustle, the volume rising as each foot tapped the floorboards. People began to gather outside and the ground shook briefly. His face lit up curiously and hastily continued on until his sharp nose caught scent of fresh air, and droopy, violet eyes of a much greater sight.

Just ahead of him stood Sorano, a seemingly distressed woman, and a smaller girl and what would seem to be a tyrannosaurus rex, or at least some kind of reptile. His eyes wide and brows raised, his mouth curved into a smile, "Howdy-do, lassies. . ." he began, eyes darting between the so-called Rina and the humongous reptile before him. It was painfully obvious that her arrival was not expected and would rub the nape of his neck awkwardly, "More importantly, if 'er the owner of this big fella, it'd be dandy if you could move'em somewhere else, aye? This ain't no dinosaur park, ya hear?" he chuckled, though his requests held no jest. It would seem that the event had escalated far beyond a simple smoke.

    Zanobia Chikelu

The ice-cold slushie tasted like blue raspberries and hope, something that she had deep within her heart after every monster taming session. Even though this previous hunt had failed, as the large dinosaur flew high in the sky so fast that she could not even catch up with a takeover form; hope still resonated deep within her heart. As she sipped the straw of the slushie and folded more and more grass together, her eyes immensely watched the beautiful and shiny blades slip in-between each other unison; that was, until people began to pour out of the building that she was sitting next to. What was the significance of what appeared to be an office building with the words "Fairy" and "Tail" sprawled across the walls above the door? Zanobia was entirely unaware of the existence of guilds, let alone how much of importance they were for mages; many things about the world like this were things she did not know. After all, her versions of guilds were tribes, and typically she did not come across guilds that much as she was used to not passing through towns. However, Magnolia was the only option to get home from where she had tried to tame another beast. This was because the other area she had passed through was blocked off for construction hours before she had finished, something that proved that timing was on her side in that situation. She would have flown home if it weren't for Athumani being with her at this hour, which was why she had no other option besides passing through the large city of fairies. While she did not know of guilds well, she had many maps memorized and knew exactly where many different routes connected, which was definitely useful; and why she was here.

As the people had walked closer, they looked to be two black-haired people, that of which appeared to have light skin and differ greatly in age. They got close to her location, and with that, the blades of grass quickly dispersed from their tangles and returned to the ground they were once attached to. Sitting her drink next to her on a flat root of the tree and standing up, Zanobia quickly ran toward the t-rex which was napping on the ground and hopped onto his head, hastily running up his back. She reached where his back stood in the air, which was right next to where the words "Fairy Tail" stretched across the building, and pointed towards the sign while looking directly at the two standing where she once was. "What does Fairy Tail mean?" she asked the two as Athumani slept soundly, unaffected by the girl that had just ran up his back. It was a simple question that could have meant many different things, but she was genuinely curious; after all, it appeared to just be an office building.

Haru waited off to the side, following next to Ezra for a little while as he spotted ... something he'd only read about in books. A dinosaur. They were supposedly all gone just like the dragons...they'd gone extinct long ago one way or another.

Haru kept his usual composure and just stared at the giant thing. It was kind of terrifying but also kind of amazing. He couldn't take his eyes off of it. Eventually he would speak up when the girl asked what Fairy Tail meant.

"It means, family." he said plainly and seriously like he usually did. This girl seemed kind of air headed...but she was really cute. Most likely around his age. "Well if there was a translation in the dictionary...that's what it would probably mean anyway."

He noticed Ezra smoking as usual, so with a wave of his hand he decided to ignite his whole cigarette as it turned into a stick of ash instead. Pleased with himself he smirked a bit, but took a step back incase a giant fist or a boot came his way.

"Smoking around all these kids...you should be ashamed...I'm an impressionable young man you know." he crossed his arms and smiled in full troll mode. Putting his attention back on the girl, he would just...stare at her for awhile. Wondering how violent her dinosaur was as he looked back up at it, and back to her several times.

As the flabbergasted guild members watched, the girl scampered agilely up the dinosaur’s back, undisturbing of the giant creature’s sleep. “What does Fairy Tail mean?” Those were the first words that Sorano had ever heard the girl speak, and she blinked for a moment, forgetting that this person who had accompanied the t-rex that now stood outside their guild door was probably a foreigner by her appearance. Perhaps she was from Enca? Her dress and skin tone seemed reminiscent of the people Sorano had encountered on a job there, but one could never be certain.

Even as she pondered such questions, Haru, one of the newest members of the guild sauntered up, telling the girl in his typical brusque manner that Fairy Tail meant “family”. Instantly, a frown crossed over Sorano’s face, and she darted an almost irritated look at Haru. Almost. Had she emotions, it most certainly would have spelled irritation all over it. She knew perfectly well that Haru thought her to be pretty, having skimmed over his emotions before in the past, but it didn’t mean she had to particularly enjoy his company. The boy held little respect, not to mention he was full of himself, and it was something that could be potentially dangerous.

“Actually, Fairy Tail is the name of an independent mage’s guild here in Fiore with headquarters in Magnolia, which you are in front of right now. We aren’t really family, as Haru here puts it.” She’d probably have to explain to him sometime that Fairy Tail these days was not so much of a family-based guild as it was business-oriented. He probably still viewed the guild through the viewpoint of his mother, when Fairy Tail upheld those values much more strongly than they did now.

“So what brings you to Magnolia?” She could have asked Fiore, as the girl’s appearance certainly suggested a foreign origin, but who knew? “You don’t seem to be from around here.”

Haru blushed a bit naturally, when Sorano shot him a look, but he shot her a fierce one back, covering up his feelings for her as best he could. He looked somewhat ashamed and then down to the ground and averted his eyes from her without saying anything else as she spoke to the girl with a whole Tyrannosaurus in tow.

'I swear when we're both adults I'll make you my wife. So you'll have to do my bidding instead.'

Haru thought to himself, standing there with his fist balled up. Of course, when he was an adult he probably wouldn't be having such silly and immature thoughts.

He would do his best to help Sorano form her vision of Fairy Tail to the fullest. He would nod to the newer girl with the dinosaur and rub the back of his head briefly. "...Yes, master. Sorry about that." he said in a rare show of him actually deferring to someone else's leadership or way. He would then look up at the T-Rex and get curious. Walking right up to it.

"Hello." he said to it, looking it right in the eye from dozens of feet below it. "....." Haru would look into it's scales and seem to get a bit sad for some reason. "You're lucky to have such a good buddy, if you guys are good buddies that is." he gave a rare smile. Two rare things in one day for him.

Ezra felt the ash sink onto his lips and flutter to the ground like dust. His violet eyes narrowed with irritation, only to widen back to its normal drooping figure once he had resisted the urge to scold the young Haru, who always had a solemn atmosphere but still quite a cheeky youth, and decided to say nothing. These type of children were more of an annoyance than a pleasure to have around. Ezra believed that they thought pestering others, be it with magic or with a large mouth, was part of witty humor.

Ezra sighed before raising his head to the the stranger, her dozing companion, and the crowd that flocked to them. "Let's not get too distracted now, lads. You gotta do something about that pet of 'ers first. Aye?" he jammed a hand into his back pocket, retrieved his pack of cigarettes and plucked a new cigarette between his lips, a lighter quickly following afterwards. Ezra had never been incredibly fond of large animals, his relationship with such creatures extending to hunting them. Though, he's never hunted a dinosaur or a reptile of such massive stature before, he treated it like any other large animal. He deeply indulged in cats an dogs, however. Soft, sometimes fluffy, lovable, and just the right size for a good snuggle.

A puff of smoke escaped his lips once more, lips parting and wet eyes flickering from the inquisitive Haru to the strange woman, "You heard me the first time, didn't ya?" his lips quirked up into a smile, another one of his playful jests, though it was easy to misinterpret it as something far different, according to past experiences.

After he was done petting the T-Rex he would go back to his usual past time. Harassing his older brother figure, Ezra. As a sixteen year old, he naturally looked up to him. He was everything he wanted to be and more; although he saw some other qualities in him that he might want to avoid. But for the most part, although he'd never let him know it. He aspired to be a lot like him when he was older.

Walking up near him and standing next to him. He looked to the right briefly.

"Uh...sorry about the cig, I know those things ain't cheap." he said sliding his hands into his pockets. "So....how in the fuuuuu I mean...how the freak do you think a little girl like that pays for THAT things lunch I mean...does she let it loose in the woods on unsuspecting wild animals or what...." he asked Ezra because he knew that this guy was somewhat of an animal person even though he didn't know him that well, he'd heard stories about him from his mother. She'd even go so far as to say she wished things were different between them, but she'd never go any further than that. For some reason she got really emotional talking about him. With a shrug, he forgot about it for now.

"I wonder what this girls name is...." he would nod to her, keeping one eye on the T-Rex incase it decided to move or something. "Haru. Nice to meet you." he said in his usual tone of voice. If she planned on sticking around he would like to at least get to know her a little. Although that T-Rex would be something he'd have to get used too. Maybe he could ride it one day...maybe, just maybe.

    Zanobia Chikelu

The office building in which Zanobia was sitting in-front of was apparently more than just an office building, being that it was an independent guild's main hub. Zanobia had heard the term "guild" thrown around before while partnering with people worldwide in regards to doing work for her tribe, but she did not know what a guild truly was. Was it like a different version of a tribe? She knew they were not connected in the slightest considering the people that were in it looking to be of all different types, but they did seem to share a similar mentality. It was not rare for tribes in Fiore to be mages as well, so the thought of an independent mage guild was interesting in the eyes of the future tribe chief. By the way the small child responded to the girl with the dark hair, she appeared to be a higher figure in said guild; being a woman in addition to someone of higher class was much more respectable in Zanobia's thoughts, therefore she figured she could be much more open with the things that she had to ask. Hopping down from the side of Athumani onto the ground below in a swift and calm manner, she approached the guild master and bowed downwards out of respect, the piercings in her ears and nose showing as the light hit them in gold color.

"I am on my way home," Zanobia began to express while she was in her state of bowing, "to Joya." the future chief of the Ghafi told Sorano with a nearly emotionless face, her eyes shimmering in a pink-red color as the golden piercings and accessories around her body glistened. After she had finished speaking, she peered over to the two men standing near each-other and made eye-contact with them as they spoke. The boy seemed to be fascinated in the dinosaur, but also wary; it was the same as how many other people acted that had not experienced them before. It made Zanobia slightly frustrated considering Athumani was anything but a threat, his eyes staying entirely shut as he began to very quietly snore due to his sleep. Walking over to Haru, she listened to him introduce himself to her and quietly blinked, her eyes not leaving his as he spoke. "I'm Zan." the girl told him with a nearly expressionless manner, her eyes looking toward the ground as her mind began to jog through ideas. What if she was to join this so-called guild spontaneously? She did not know what their purpose was, but their concept was definitely interesting. It was the first time she experienced a guild first-hand, and they seemed... cool. Maybe they could help in monster taming or something. Zanobia was unaware how her parents would feel about her joining a guild, but it would most likely be more better than worse.

"Athumani is friendly, he doesn't hurt things.." the tribal girl told the taller man standing near the boy, which appeared to not like the t-rex being in his location. He wasn't in the worst positioning in the world; the door could still open, people would just have to walk around him a bit. "If I join, we could ride him places." she told the man, her eyes widening as she had just realized what she said. Zanobia was still not so sure if she wanted to join; she did not want to say anything about joining verbally, but it apparently decided to slip out. A slight blush began to show on her cheeks, a rosy pink color that contrasted slightly with her tan skin. Did she truly want to join? Usually, spontaneous decisions worked out well for the little girl. Hopefully this one would work out if she was able to.

'Zan huh....wonder what that's short for.' he said to her with a nod, and no smile as usual. He looked her up and down, and caught himself admiring her looks. Flicking his eyes to Sorano; he got a sweatdrop over his head and remained silent. He'd have to keep his distance from both of these girls most likely; they were both around his age and could serve as a distraction to him. It was best he became something like partners and less of a friend if he could avoid liking them, but; he already did a little.

When she blushed cutely and made a comment to Ezra about joining, the sixteen year old looked from Ezra to her a few times, then cracked a very small smile.

"Ezra riding a T-Rex...Ha...HAHAHAHAHAHA." he realized he was laughing a bit too hard and then got silent again, due to this kind of laughter being out of his usual persona. But, the image was now ingrained in his mind. "Might as well give him platemail and a flag to hold...Ezra, Dinosaur Knight." he smirked and cut his eyes at Ezra a bit. Putting a hand on his chin in thought as he looked at Zan, he heard her a few moments ago talk about where she was from.

"Joya? There are human tribes there? Hm....I thought it was the homeland of the Neko people; but I guess no one's ever fully explored that place...it's a country surrounded by mountains on all sides after all...nothing but jungles I hear." he nodded to her. "I'd like to see that place sometime...if you wouldn't mind traveling out of the country with me that is." another small smile.

"So....you let Athu handle the bad guys right?" he said with a plain expression, now looking up at the T-Rex who he'd start calling 'Athu' almost by habit or second nature. "Wait....is that thing actually sleeping standing up?" he noticed a loud snore or something escaping the T-Rex every few moments. "You know if he falls over...he'll probably make a very big dent..or at least a very big boom." Haru began to look a bit worried at the sleeping T-Rex, but amused as well as he was smirking at the giant dinosaur.

The girl would introduce herself as being from Joya, something Sorano had not expected. Eris, the only Joyan she knew was definitely not fully human, and she herself had heard that most people from the area were anthropomorphic in nature, definitely not looking like this kid did. However, the girl was definitely an interesting character. Her tribal accessories, bright eyes, yet emotionless expression was rather intriguing, reminding Sorano of her own status. However, this girl was most certainly not emotionless. The faint tinges of color that barely pressed into her aura was proof enough of that. She would introduce herself as Zan, and then seemed to lapse into a state of intense thought. “My name’s Sorano Granon. …Nice to meet you.” Introducing herself, she watched as the girl reassured Ezra that the dinosaur was harmless. However, it was not that phrase that caught the letter mage’s attention, but what she said afterwards.

Did the girl want to join the guild? It was true that she was a mage, but Sorano had assumed that she was merely passing through. If she were to join… “Well, if you’re interested in joining, I could help you out with that. Just step on into the guild hall.”

What the hell's going on, can someone tell me please? Why I'm switching faster than the channels on TV?
