    Magic

Primary Magic: Pictures Worth a Thousand Words
    Secondary Magic: N/A
    Caster or Holder: Holder
Description: For as long as Cora can remember her family had always had this fantastical stories that her grandparents would claim dated back to the very first of the Tallah family. That one day while roaming the countryside a young boy of the family tripped over a strange object left in the meadow. It was a peculiar cube of leather and metal closed up tight. Try as they might no one in the family had managed to open it or discover what was inside, but it was such an interesting find that it became the family's heirloom.

It ended up passed down from generation to generation in hopes that the new blood might be able to figure out whether it was treasure or simply glorified junk. Cora dreamt and waited for the day that it would be turned, and when it was, she was overjoyed. It had become her prized possession and while she was about to put it away in her room, she noticed some peculiar engravings across the leather strapping connected to it. The glow lit up the entire room when her fingertips grazed across the runic lettering and the box had finally sprung open in her grasp. A lens eye opened up in its center and a bulky square compartment revealed a small flickering flame set on top of it that cast a dim light. Inside she could hear some strange gears and mechanisms at work and found a small switch that could be rolled and turned.

It confused her at first, but it did not stop her from inspecting it more closely. There was another small glass section on the back that had a viewfinder of some sort and a single button on top. When she tried to press the button, the flame inside twirled around and bathed the room around her in a brief flash of life. By the time she looked down at the contraption again, there was a perfect picture of her own room. She tried to touch it to see if it was a mini-mirror or portal of some sort, but it only made it hum and print out a copy of the image onto a square scrap of paper. It excited her and she tried to take more pictures of her village around her only to find that it had started to do more strange things than she had come to expect from it. After the pictures were printed out, she found that she could make them do strange things while she had it in hand.

It was as if she was able to draw out portions of what had been captured in the pictures into reality like it was a moment frozen in time ready to reached into and tapped. In battle, she takes some of the pictures that her camera has saved on it and prints them out to use against her opponents. Sometimes this can end up in flames getting scattered their ways, spouts of waters erupting from the image, or just tossing it on the ground to bring forth rocky pillars to shield her from attack. Sometimes in more sentimental and relaxing imagery, it can bolster her and the people around her, healing their wounds or invigorating them in preparation for the tides of battle.

The process is admittedly slower than some other forms of magic and has some tricky outside factors that influence it, but Cora is still learning new ways of utilizing its power every day.
    Strengths:

    • The camera offers all types of spells found in offensive, defensive, supportive, utility, with terrain alterations, elemental types, and even summoning

    • Is adaptive and flexible as the user can use new natural and man-made environments as a source for their spells

    • Can handle both single targets and crowds well enough

    • Has a chance of stunning opponents often with the camera's flash capabilities.

    Weaknesses:

    • The types of spells that can be cast depend on what kinds of pictures the caster has taken, and can be lacking in the beginning

    • It takes time and concentration on the caster's part to cycle through saved photographs and print them off

    • Some of the photographs can be eaten by Slayers if they relate to or draw out an element related to them.

    • Some elements are exceedingly difficult, if not impossible, to capture in photographs properly. The instant a lightning strike is visible, fire when it's shrouded in smoke, or strong gusts of wind as a few examples.

    • Living replicas summoned from photographs tend to be weaker than their original sources as they are mindless copies that follow her commands.

    Lineage:
    Truth:
Description: There was once a priest who had devoted his entire life to his religion. As such, he preached about his God's superiority over all others and how the belief in his existence was the only "truth". From his point of view, magic was a heresy created by the heathens, thus he denied it completely, believing it to lead people "down the wrong path". Eventually, after years of unfaltering belief, his beloved deity whispered to him. What was then said remains a mystery, one the priest took to his grave, but tales describe his descendants as "the ones who dispel Lies through their only Truth", seemingly hinting that they have gained an unnatural power through their ancestor's unwavering belief.
Ability: Creates a 30 meter bubble of antimagic in which no magic can exist of the user's rank or lower.  Spell Fusions or similar effects can create spell effects that go beyond this limit.  While within the area,  nobody can speak lies and anyone inside will know when something is true fact or a lie. If someone says what they believe is true,  it will feel "empty", but is clearly not an intended lie but they would not be able to say it at all if it is a known lie to them.
Usage:3 post duration with a 8 posts cooldown. Deals 5% HP damage per post to the user as long as it is active. If the bubble is hit by a spell of higher rank of one is used of higher rank inside of it the bubble will disperse and go onto cooldown.

    Unique Abilities:

Has To Be Perfect: Passive Ability, if a photograph printed from the camera is not utilized right away, if it is destroyed, or its execution is interrupted; the spell contained within it remains dormant for a time before it is rendered useless. It does not actually draw Magic Power from Cora until the spell is activated, but once the spell has left the containment of the photograph it drains her normally regardless of whether or not it is used properly out on the field. Basically, if a spell from the photograph misses, then it still counts as a proper execution. This ability also allows Cora to take the extra time if she chooses to print out multiple photographs and spells and save them for when she is ready to cast them.

Stunning Flash: Active Ability, This is a reflexive ability that Cora can trigger when someone of an equal rank or lower attempts to use a physical attack against her. She can aim her camera at them and take their picture resulting in a bright and immediate burst of light. This can leave the target dazed for the rest of the round but passes by the beginning of the next one. The magical fire within the camera cannot be flashed repeatedly and needs time to readjust, so this action cannot be taken again until after 3 rounds have passed.

Smile!: Active Ability, This is a reflexive ability that Cora can trigger when someone attempts to use a magical attack against her. She can snap a picture of the magic coming towards her and let her camera siphon off some of the energy from the spell, using it to absorb fifty-percent of the damage that the spell in question would have caused. It takes time for Cora to be ready to take another picture again, so this ability cannot be activated again until after 3 rounds have passed.

    Spells:

    Name: Petals on a Breeze
    Rank: D
    Type: Supportive
    Duration: 1 rounds
    Cooldown: 2 rounds
Description: Cora cycles through her camera until she manages to find an old photograph of a tree on a hill. It is bathed in a morning light and pale white petals are frozen in the air as a gentle breeze carries them across the land and sky. After the photograph is printed from the camera and Cora activates it a bright white light is cast in the air above from the picture that takes the shape of a closed flower bud. After it bursts, white flower buds drift and twirl around Cora and the people in her near-immediate vicinity. The gentle scent of flowers accompanies a healing spell that closes people's wounds. This is an instant burst spell that covers a 15-meter radius around Cora and her photograph healing 40 hp for anyone within it.
    Strengths:

    • Can be used frequently compared to some of her other spells

    • Can be used to heal more than one person; including herself and allies so long as they are near

    • Can be printed off in advance and saved for later emergencies.

    Weaknesses:

    • Can accidentally affect enemies as well if they are within the radius at the time of casting

    • If allies are far from Cora when they need healing, she will need to run to them in order to heal them putting herself in potential danger

    • Can be interrupted in the process of casting it

    Name: Celebration Photo!
    Rank: D
    Type: Supportive
    Duration: 3 rounds
    Cooldown: 4 rounds
Description: This spell is contained in an old picture of a festival from Cora's home village. Upon a stage, an elderly man is leaned forward and draping a golden medal around a young boy's neck while the crowd at the foot of the stage helps to bathe them both in a shower of multi-colored confetti. After the photograph is printed from the camera and Cora activates it a bright yellow light is cast above in the shape of a party-popper. Once it bursts, tiny rainbow-colored squares of paper confetti accompanied by faint echoes of peoples' cheers shower around Cora and the people in her near-immediate vicinity. The encouragement is enough to magically inspire the people around her and helps them to face any challenge dead on. This is an active buff that can be cast instantly in a burst of a 15-meter radius, granting its recipients a 30% bonus to Spell Damage and a 30% bonus to Magic Power that lasts for three rounds.
    Strengths:

    • Can affect more than one person including Cora and people close to her

    • Can help people cast stronger versions of the spells they know

    • Helps to bolster others' magical reserves so they don't burn out as fast

    • Can be printed off and saved for later emergencies

    Weaknesses:

    • Can accidentally affect enemies as well if they are within the radius at the time of casting

    • Can not help allies that are far away from Cora when the spell is being cast

    • Can not be cast frequently due to how much of the camera's energy each photograph takes; needs the time to recharge

    • The bolstered sensation of the spell is not permanent and can still lead to others tiring out sooner than they think

    • Can be interrupted in the process of casting it

Name: Night of a Dying Bonfire
    Rank: D
    Type: Fire, DoT, Offensive
    Duration: 3 rounds
    Cooldown: 4 rounds
Description: This spell is contained in a photograph of a dying bonfire sat under a starry night sky and bathed in the light of a full moon. Burning yellow, red, and orange embers simmer and cool under the blackened logs and gray dusting of ash casting small remnants of light and shadow over the somber scene. After the photograph is printed from the camera and Cora activates it, a bright orange light is cast from the photograph in the shape of a single flame. It hovers in the air, bursts, and from the photograph's center small red-hot embers snap out of the picture repeatedly in violent and erratic spasms crackling towards whatever it was aimed towards. This is a damage-over-time spell that can be aimed at a single target and has a range of 60 meters and a speed of 45 meters per second. It initially does 10 damage and can do 10 damage for every round it is sustained up to a maximum of 2 additional rounds (For 30 total damage).
    Strengths:

    • The burning embers can follow and singe the target longer making more burns over time

    • It is a spell that's better suited for someone helping from the sidelines rather than in direct combat

    • Can be printed in advance and saved for emergencies

    Weaknesses:

    • Can only affect one enemy at a time depending on what it was aimed at originally and its target cannot be changed

    • An enemy can try to interrupt her in the process of her casting it

    • Can be eaten potentially by a Fire Slayer

    • Takes a while for the camera's energy to recharge between casting it, leaving her more vulnerable

    Name: Quaint Grassy Hill
    Rank: D
    Type: Earth, Defensive
    Duration: 1 round
    Cooldown: 2 rounds
Description: This spell is contained in a picture of a grassy hill overlooking a meadow on a bright cheery day. There are no clouds in the sky and small goats can be seen in the distance grazing on the vibrant grasses down below the hill. An older man and woman look out over them in silent observation, the man's arm wrapped affectionately around the woman as it rests high on her hip. After the photograph is printed from the camera and Cora activates it, a bright green light is cast from the photograph taking the shape of a green hill after it lands on the ground. It rumbles and a hill taking shape from a mound of earth nearly triple Cora's size springs up from the ground to try to block a person or spell from reaching her and anyone directly behind it. This is a defensive barrier spell that takes up about a 15-meter radius of the field where it springs up. This hill can take a maximum of 60 damage before a spell or person risks breaking through. If it manages to survive without breaking apart by the next round, it crumbles apart and needs time before being cast again.
    Strengths:

    • It can protect Cora from both physical and magical sorts of attacks

    • Can take a substantial amount of damage for its rank before it crumbles apart

    • Has the potential to protect others if they stand behind it with Cora

    • Can be printed in advance and saved for emergencies

    Weaknesses:

    • Can not protect Cora from all directions so the enemies could go around it or over it

    • An Earth Slayer could work on eating it to chip it apart and render it useless

    • Can not be used reflexively because the camera needs time to recharge between each casting

    • Because it is not set into the ground over time like most natural hills are, a sufficient enough force with water or wind could push it out of the way or disintegrate it
