    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

It had been a few days since Vlad had received the letter from Marceline; it had some very vague, and awfully demanding, requests in it. This was fine, however, as Vlad did enjoy her company and it seemed like a small price to pay in order to fulfill this request; after the way their last encounter had ended, how could he just ignore this? She seemed to have a way with him that simply caused him to do as she asked. Perhaps it was due the the fact that he would get caught up in her beauty? Her hips? Breasts? Well, it did not matter! He had agreed to this already and needed to complete it within a decent amount of time. Well, he would have accepted this request no matter what; the concept of this kingdom simply intrigued him and he would have loved to study it for a bit anyway! While this was the main thing that intrigued him, he was also curious if their interaction would resume. It had ended in a very... interesting... way that had caught his attention. It was a bit more different than any other he had. This all, however, was drowned out by the area around himself; it seemed to capture his entire attention.

Sin; it was a place that was best captured by the vision of those who were damned; the sinners. Sin was a place that could only be described as hell. The entirety of the landscape was something that could only be compared to the lands that were described by those who chose to believe in some sort of afterlife. It was that idea that simply bothered Vlad; why would they want their soul to rest? It would be best to simply reincarnate, continue some form of life. Sure, at some point the soul should rest; this, however, was not a problem. People did not know how old their soul was. So, they simply wanted a soul, which they believed to be young, to end its existence? How idiotic!

Well, this was not the problem that faced Vlad; it seemed he was rather lost, the only direction he had was... It's near a Volcano.... "Well, What am I to do with this little information? Perhaps I could simply wander around for a few hours, and then find the place I want? Well, I have nothing else to do anyway... Well... I already know this will end well for me, so I suppose it is worth all the effort..." He chuckled, a smirk overtaking his face.

The entirety of the land was red; not much stood out. For miles he simply traveled like this, moving at incredible speeds around such a bleak land! Not a single thread of hope seemed to exist in this land; it was a perfect place for any sort of evil lair. How corny, to have your lair in such a place? Well, it was something Vlad would not mind. It was something that may be a future goal of his, assuming his current plans did not end well...

These thoughts were interrupted as he caught sight of his goal, well a Volcano! It was a sign that he was finally nearing his destination! How amazing! To be able to be so close to his goal that he could actually see it, he knew it was within reach! It was an amazing sensation; knowing you were so close to obtaining what you were searching for, to simply know that you could finish your goal and be able to return home; it was when they returned home that it all set in. When he finally realized what he had been able to accomplish and that he would be able to bask in the rewards! It was the best feeling a person could accomplish... Well... It was second! Sex was the first. The sensation a person felt when melding the two bodies into one. The simple act that brought out such demanding parts of the soul; even from those of a timid nature. It was something marvelous that, honestly, was a good enough reward to go as far as to infiltrate a random kingdom, and then inform someone of its status. Well, one would only be so lucky!

It seemed that his trusty skates began to fizzle, the energy running out. Sighing, Vlad decided to stop! It was time to walk... how many more miles could it be? This was, to be honest, the perfect time to reflect on his past and future. It seemed that with each job he took the land seemed more and more ineffective. The government useless, and the aristocracy feeding off of it. This led to countless acts of corruption; each person was diving for all the power they could grab! They wanted to be more powerful than those around them. They wanted to secure this life of theirs; where they needed to simply sit around, do nothing, and enjoy the countless carnal desires they held within them! It was a life of sin and extravagance. This was what drove Vlad down the path he had chose. It was what led him to commit such atrocities.

These atrocities are what filled every day in the land of Fiore. It was so corrupt that one could not find a single noble that did not have his hand in the honey pot. It sickened Vlad. This was something many did not know about him, or so he believed. Each act he committed was not simply because he wished to slay random civilians, no. He simply needed a place to begin his conquest; to topple this wretched world and begin anew. He did not believe he should lead such a world; no, he was as corrupt as the others. Using whatever means he had to in order to achieve his goal. It was the same as those other men; those men who simply wish to gain money and power. Those men who would slay any who would not kneel before them and accept their wills; those who cowered at the feet of the King, simply because he held more power. No respect. There was no respect in the place at all.

To be honest, Vlad never really explained the plan to any person; it was something he felt none others had to understand. Simply destroy the place, and put it on the right tracks. It was after this was done that he would retire to his own little place, he new he would not deserve sanctuary in the new world. He would have killed thousands, broken many laws and simply destroyed what others held dear. He had to become what he hated the most in order to defeat it. How sad. Would some call this humble, a noble ideal? Probably. Those people were fools; they did not truly understand his goal. Completely eradicate corruption. He would simply stand by, watching to ensure that there was no way it could emerge again. If it did, he would simply stomp it out. With this gift given by Marecline, he could do so forever. Well, this was all he could ask.

It was as these he began to dive into these thoughts that he would realize something; the walls of the kingdom were within sight; they stood tall, as a lighthouse guiding the lost seafarers to land. It was his ray of hope; his guidance to his goal. The bricks of the wall rose high above the land; they cold grey was uninviting. It depicted a place that was not interested in obtaining new occupants; it seemed to be pleased with those that it currently housed, it wanted no part of this world. No matter how much it attempted to deny its existence to the outside world, it was unable to simply disappear; it was cursed to exist in this land. To exist in this world. This plane.

It was at this time that something else would come into view; his eyes scanning the area, he noticed the flickering of souls nearby; it seemed this place was, indeed, occupied. It was a bit of a surprise, who would have thought such a place would still have life within it? Well, it was one of those mysteries that Vlad was going to uncover; he had given Marceline his word that he would get to the bottom of this incredibly odd occurrence; he did wish to please her. When she was happy, it was an amazing sight to behold. Each action she took became more subtle, more docile. She became a much more quiet individual, with each action being more cute than the last. This is what he has come to know, though he had not seen her happy on many occasions. This was merely conjecture, but it gave him hope and a reason to continue forward!

As he approached this seemingly impregnable fortress, he was able to clearly delineate the entrance from the rest of the wall; it was at this position that there was something that was able to give Vlad a reason to not simply enter from the front; three large creatures seemed to stand guard, not allowing entrance from the outside. What should he do? What was the best option in entering this place? What could he expect on the inside? Each of these questions were things that would be answered in a matter of moments! He could not simply ignore any of these. He had to find these answers, he had to drive himself to the answer. What was the world without answers? A useless place. A world he would never exist in.

Now, standing beside the wall, he would place his hand against it; the wall was quiet granular. It was a material that was ideal for traction, thank god. His entire plan was one that resembled that of a cat burglar! He would scale over the wall, use the night and his skills to avoid all contact! It was the easiest way to gain the information he needed. It was the best way to survive this ordeal; he was able to sense the strength of these creatures, and he wanted no part of it. He was a powerful mage, but he was not this powerful. He could not deal with such power at this time, in this place; it was dishonorable, but it was something he had to do. He had a job he needed to accomplish. It would be fulfilled.

Reaching into his bag, it was an unbelievably amazing place. A world in and of itself; a place with absolutely no limit! It was something that allowed for jobs like this to be accomplished in a timely manner. As his hand exited the bag, it seemed that it was holding an object that was of an unbelievable importance to his plan! A rope with a hook at the end of it; it was something that would allow him to scale the wall! Enter this place undetected! How amazingly practical! Launching the rope atop the wall, he would begin his ascent; what he did not realize this was, in all honesty, a descent. Descending deeper and deeper into madness. This place was something that Vlad could never have expected; it was something he would not realize until much later. It was as he scaled this wall that something became clear; this was not something that he would forget. It was something that would hold a very large importance.

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

It was what he had been anticipating for a while now; his feet hit the hard stone as he pulled himself up the wall. It seemed they had decided to simply create as large a wall as they could; something that, should, hold everything out. Well, this was one way to examine the situation. Another was to see the wall as something that merely trapped those inside; it could be compared to the walls of a prison, overwhelming and demanding. It demanded retribution from those that had committed evil deeds; those who have committed sins that other could not dream of; the nightmare that would wake one up in the middle of the night.

These were all things that would fill his mind; he wanted to know what could, possibly, be occurring on the other side of the wall. What mystery lay ahead?! What was it that could have led him here!? Well, he was approaching the end; grabbing the top of the wall, he hoisted himself up. Staggering for a moment, he would overlook the town; it was at this point that he was able to realize what was occurring. This was not true, he merely had an overview; he only had the vague details that would help illuminate the whole idea. It was as he overlooked this place that he was able to see it.

The area closest to him, closest to the wall, was destroyed; it seemed that this destruction had carried on for a few miles, who knew the extent to which it had taken effect; the only thing he could say, for certain, was that the destruction did not cover the entire kingdom; there was a portion that seemed to remain totally intact, unscathed from the utter demolition that had occurred.

Hoping down, into the destruction, he would begin his exploration; it was nothing more than rubble and ash. "Completely gone, eh?" He sighed, thinking on the discussion this would lead to with Marceline. She would, surely, demand an explanation to something he had no answer... "Well..." He was bound to enter one of his famous monologues, until he heard it. The cracking of wood a few meters away. Moving behind cover, it seemed a pack of animals - beasts really - had come over, exploring the place. There were just under six, and it seemed that they meant business. Using his boots, Vlad was able to simply zoom past the dog like beings, avoiding all carnage.

It was as he sped past all these beast that he approached the center of the kingdom; the home of the wealthy. It was the only place that seemed to be unharmed; of course, how would they be damaged? They held too much power. How could the rich ever be harmed? It wouldn't occur, not as long as the money held power.

Well, he would choose to dive deeper into the mess; walking through the unscathed plots, he heard no noise; sensed no spirits and/or souls. As he explored this, he seemed to examine what could only be described as the decor of the place; they enjoyed the use of spirals in their designs. It was something that invited a sort of trance. The more a person would look into the place, the more they would simply lose their focus; it was an all consuming design.

Snapping himself out of this trance, he would turn around; he had seen enough, and was tired of it. There was no need to travel this far into the kingdom, and he did not want to leave her waiting too long. That was very rude, and he did not like to be late. Beginning to run, He would climb atop the building, leaping onto the wall. It seemed this was his escape; he could simply hop down. It was as his feet hit the ground that he would begin to jog; he was simply tired of this place.

It had to be many miles away; there was no way he was simply expected to run all this distance! Nope, they expected him to walk it... Well, it was not a large problem! In fact, it allowed for the subtleties of life to be thought of... NOPE... Time leap!

It was as this point that he was able to see her castle; her home was one that overtook the area around it. The castle was much like Marceline herself, it made a statement; it seemed to stand out no matter how one looked at it. It was fun to look at, and must have felt amazing to be inside. To own such a fine piece of land, how much could it have cost?

Vlad had decided to simply approach the place, what point was there in taking the slow approach? It was a rather quick approach, he was not afraid of having to move through any obstacles, and what not. Looking around this area, he would simply push open the door; closing it behind him, he would begin his time wandering around the halls; he may have gotten lost... Well, he would never admit that; if he was ever asked he was simply exploring! YES! Exploring this gorgeous castle. It was after a few moments he was able to find the throne room. It was as he pushed open the door that he would feel it, her presence. Walking into the room, it seemed she was simply lounging about; was she simply too lazy to go there herself?

Walking up to her, he would begin his speech. "Well, it seemed those who were not rich were decimated; the only places to survive were those of aristocracy. I'm sorry to tell you this, but there was nothing to tell me what caused it." It was now that he stood in front of her. Leaning over, he would lean in; whispering into her ear he began to speak, "Well, how have you been love? It's been too long since we last met~! I missed you~!" He chuckled, straightening himself back upright.

Post by Guest 1st September 2016, 7:59 pm

No, I won't fall for this again, I'll always see behind your smoke and mirrors. I know you love me deep inside, your simply caught up in
    her lie

The sound of approaching footsteps alerted Marceline Anicetus to the presence of a person that she had been waiting for, for five days now. She hadn't thought it would take him that many days already, but that was the time limit she had given him to find her kingdom. Splayed out across the throne in her throneroom, the woman let out a sigh and pulled herself up to a more regal sitting position. Having just returned from a recent mission herself, all she had wanted to do was relax a little bit, though now she was not able to. Leaning her head against one hand, the woman waited for Vladimir Chao to make his untimely and unwanted appearance in her home. Of course, she couldn't necessarily say that it unwanted, as she had told him to come to her castle in order to tell her the needed information. Alas, she was doomed to wait for him to come to the throneroom, which would likely be hard for someone new to the place.

One of her many servants made an uncanny appearance in the room and rushed toward her direction, instantly coming to a kneel. This servant was one of her more favored ones, a person she had picked out many years ago in an auction and who has since stayed with her. She was young, pretty lady, standing a little shorter than Marceline herself, but with a physique that was just as eye-catching. Little, rounded ears were settled on the tops of her head, where one flopped downward like a rabbit's ear and the other stood stick straight. Lifting a hand, the raven-haired woman beckoned for the servant to come closer, who only pushed a little farther without looking at her.

"Milady," the woman stated in a soft voice, knees pressed to the ground, lips very nearly kissing the marble floor. "You must be aware that there is a strange man roaming this castle, am I correct in bringing this up? It appears, m'lady, that he's lost and ever the curious one."

"I'm well aware of this; he is a guest I have been expecting for quite a few days now, I suppose you could call him. Please, have someone find him and bring him to the throne room," she responded to her servant in a hard voice. However, after a moment's silence, the woman stood to her feet and only shook her head, waving her hand slightly. "No, no, that won't do. Simply let him wander the castle and observe his surroundings, he'll come to realize places he shouldn't be." With that being said, Marcy waved the woman off, watching as the dog-girl stood to her feet, bowed, and ran off. Letting out another exasperated sigh, the queen turned back toward her seat and dusted it off before plopping down in it. "Sadair, if you will!" she called out to another of her servants, one who was a tall and aged man in a butler's suit.

From the shadows of the room, the tail ends of a coat would swoop away at a moment's notice, returning seconds later. On a silver platter, the butler would return with a small, but rather tall, glass of blue liquid that could not be easily discerned as to what it was. He knelt down at the feet of the magus and presented the platter to the woman, letting her pick up, sniff at, and swirl the blue liquid around in the glass. Once she was satisfied with the contents, he would silently take a step away, leaving her to sip at the liquid and enjoy the silence. Marceline stared across the room and in complete silence, blinking her eyes on occasion before letting them scope the room. It was rather boring sitting there waiting; she hadn't realized just how large her castle was until a guest managed to get lost in it. "You would think the castle is quite easy to navigate, even for a person new to it, wouldn't you say, Sadair?"

"Oh, yes, milady, quite easy to navigate, even for the ninnies who aren't capable of doing such an easy task as finding the throne room," Sadair answered with a chuckle.

As such, the sound of approaching footsteps would result in the appearance of Vladimir as he solemnly entered the room. Her red optics slowly lifted from the blue liquid in the glass to the black-haired male across the room, walking in her direction. "Before you say anything, no I was not lazy to go on my own; at the time I sent the letter, I was in Motor City. Unfortunately, because I was in that city, it would have taken me longer than five days to be able to reach my former home." At long last, however, she would let him speak, inform her of what was going on to disturb the peace in the deathly place. Yet, it was information that was not important to her; information that was rather useless and didn't supply the needed information she wanted. Heaving yet another sigh, the woman would set the glass down on the floor and sit forward, staring quietly at Vlad.

"I suppose even useless information is some form of information, and you did return to my castle without any harm to yourself," she mumbled quietly. The woman turned slightly and dug into the pouch at her hip, sifting through it until she pulled out a shiny, silver coin. "This is a coin, but it's not just any coin; to you it looks like a silver jewel worth nothing less than 5, but a closer look and it's not a coin jewel at all. The coin is called the Coin of Charon, and it's named this because it something you pay to Charon when you wish to cross the River Styx. However, this coin is my version of the coins paid to Charon, and with this coin, you're able to summon me at any given moment in time. There's a catch though. . . in order to summon me, you must have memorized a set of words that will active the magic in the coin and bring me to you. These are the words:
Unknown spirit, I call to thee
Me who wish to set you free.
Cross on over, so that I may help.
    Come to me. Reveal yourself.
Don't abuse the coin or I will forcibly take the coin back from you, and trust me, that is the last thing that you want.
    "

With that being said she flicked the coin in Vlad's direction, then sat back and continued to speak to the other magus. "Congratulations on B rank," she stated, a smirk playing across her lips, "but don't think that gives you any special privileges."

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

What information Vlad carried was all that could be found; it was simply a matter of not having had enough clues to give them a valid assertion that would, definitely, stand examination; why should he present any theories that had a fallacy, even a very small one, in it. Who gave a damn about anything other than the truth? Well, it was Vlad who cared for more than just the truth; the truth could be altered, bought and destroyed. It was his own motives that drove him this far; it was what he desired that brought him this far; it was the single letter that brought him to this point in time; it was Marceline. She was the one who drove him to the end of the planet, then back to her own luxurious place.

Reaching forward, he would catch the coin; glancing it over, he would let out a slight smirk. Walking forward, he would listen to each word that she spoke; it seemed he would enjoy being able to call upon her whenever he pleased. "Well, I am so sorry to disappoint! I did not mean to give you such... dull... news. I wish I could inform you how it occurred, I truly do!" He was now standing in front of the female, looking her over once more. Turning around, he would simply sit in her lap, nuzzling up against her bosom. "How was your time there?" He smirked, looking over to her.

It seemed that his time spent there had been much longer than it had felt; had five days really past? From what he had heard while he approached the room, it had been the full five days. How shitty. Who would think a matter of days could pass in what felt to be only minutes; it was as though something unworldly was editing the flow of this place; this brought such a plethora of ideas to his mind that he couldn't help but find the urge to run off and investigate; now was not the time. It had been a struggle to simply get as far as he had and he was going to regard himself now!

"You're really soft, Marceline! Mind if I simply stay like this for a bit?" He smirked, placing his head against her chest; it was something that he, genuinely, enjoyed. The was his head felt was something that was so relaxing it nearly lulled him into sleep; it offered a sense of security that he almost fell for. He was almost caught off guard. He almost fell victim to it; to the demise of all men; sleep. Sleep was such a waste of time, he hated it. This, however, was neither here nor there.

"Awfully nice place you got here! Care to let one more share a bed? It's not as though you disliked it last time! We are awfully compatible, the two of us. Don't ya think?" He chuckled, running his hand along her thigh, it seemed he was just doing as he pleased. Time lock; Spatial distortion; Magic. This was the simplest of explanations as to what had occurred there long ago. "Well, I do think that we would both sleep much better at night!" He chuckled, simply ignoring the other Magus in the room; it seemed he cared not for those who were beneath his own status.

These things were all simple observations that could be made, but not confirmed; they were akin to his suspicions. He could not confirm a single one of them at the moment; it was something that, really, had pissed him off! How could he not deduce what the cause of all this was? Why did he not find what the cause of the disaster was? The images danced in his mind; the death and destruction were things that he could not help but consider; what was it!? Why did it feel so familiar, yet so different? Why did it seem to beg him to investigate it? What called him into this?

Was it Marceline? Was she the reason he had decided to venture so far as to travel to sin; he was never promised a reward, nor any thanks. He had done this merely because she had asked him, that was enough to send him to sin. What was going on? Why did he commit to such a reckless plan? He benefited in no way from it; well, that was until he had decided to act on his own; he did know how to act when he had to!

He had decided to simply act on his own; he did not need the support of another to decide that something was to his own advantage; he was too curious to not do so. Well, this was not all that filled his mind. There were a plethora of reasons he would do this; the most prominent one, at the moment, was Marshy; she seemed to be disappointed by the fact that he had not found any real information out; he was not a fan of this. He preferred when she was more active, more exciting; he really loved when she was cute; it was the best thing to see.

"Well, I do think you'd be in a much better mood; I think that you must have some pent up stress." He laughed, looking up to the ceiling of the building. It was a rather ornate top; simple depictions of a rather religious war. Perhaps he was simply imagining it? Nah, who ever imagined such dull things in this day and age.

It was as he finished up his thoughts that he would proceed with his actions; he could not simply sit there, no. He was a man who wanted a bit more; she had to have expected it since their last encounter; she had taken him by surprise, but it was something that was simply so alluring that he did not mind; what man would? Leaning back, he would run his tongue over her neck. "It was a long trip. I may fall asleep..." Well, this was not a bluff; he was tired, and ready to take a long rest; this was something he could stop, it simply took a bit of internal strength. "You would not simply throw me out after the long journey I endured; all for your sake. Would you?" He knew she damn well might... He came to hope that she would show some mercy, allow him this sanctuary; well, only she could determine this outcome.

No, I won't fall for this again, I'll always see behind your smoke and mirrors. I know you love me deep inside, your simply caught up in
    her lie

Such a pity he presented useless information to me; I was hoping for something a bit more eccentric and out there. The woman sighed and watched Vladimir with a contended look on her face, wondering if he had felt the same way. Perhaps it was all an elaborate lie though, something that he had concocted in his head so he could simply come to her palace. This such information in her head caused the woman to frown and let her gaze wander the room before landing on her servant. He only watched her in the silence, waiting for an order from her that likely would have been dull and nothing worth his time. Her eyes wandered back to the other magus, attentative to his actions and the slightest twitch of the muscles in his face. Nothing was there, however, as disappointing as that was to the young woman, who so much as wanted to find a fault.

Here came a rather imposing apology about not being able to suit her needs in wanting exact and proportionate details. Knowing that, apparently, the aristocracy was taking a rise was useless to her, especially since she knew it wasn't a possible thing. For him to come to her doorstep and tell her a lie was something that she could not forgive, even a lie that was forged about her homeland. Red orbs watched as Vladimir urged forward in the throne room, something he would come to learn as a mistake. As neither servant nor guard truly knew how "close" these two were to each other, the armored "statues" would come to life. Casually, Marceline would wave them down, presenting to them that his advances were nothing more than friendly. "Your apologies mean nothing to me in the state that it involves my kingdom," the woman responded in a harsh voice.

Even after five long days of complete silence from the male, she figured he would have found something of more use. Unfortunately, he was standing before her now with information that she couldn't use to help her kingdom thrive once more. Her eyes gliding downward, the woman watched quietly as Vlad fell to his knees and placed his head on her breasts. A frown appeared on her lips and her body went rigid from the estranged touch that supposedly had a sense of love to it. The incubus, it seemed, had grown an attachment to her, one that she wasn't entirely fond of, but wasn't able to do anything about. Tilting her head slightly upward, the woman eyed Vladimir with a sense of revolt, wondering what it was that he wanted. "It doesn't matter how my time 'was' in Motor City, it doesn't not involve you and thus, there is no reason to tell you," she answered him.

She would relax momentarily, letting Vlad stay there in silence as she tried to deduce what exactly was happening between them. Afterward, she merely shook her head and let her gaze wander back to the room, staring bleakly at its design. "No, you may not remain there," she stated in a solemn tone, her eyes watching the stone pillars as she spoke. "I don't enjoy you touching me at your own will and you will respect my wishes or so be it, your head will go on the chopping board." Her eyes flashed back downward, studying Vlad with curiosity after what she had threatened the other magus with. His compliments were derogatory to her, something that she wasn't flattered at all with hearing from the male. Marceline tapped her fingers on the stonework of the throne, waiting for Vladimir to remove himself from her.

"You are well aware that I'm already in a relationship, correct?" Marcy inquired, cocking an eyebrow and observing him. "I'm completely happy with the one I'm with, and I am not interested in extending this supposed 'relationship' with you. It was a mistake to get involved with someone who I barely know and I regret having done what I did." She would let the silence impede on the two of them, hoping that what she had said would sink into his head. "You may stay here in the castle for the night; I'll let one of the servants escort you to the guest rooms on the second floor." Under the condition that he was to never wander the castle or look for something that he was not meant to see. "That is, as long as you remain in your room until morning, then we will have nothing to worry about until then."

It was then that the woman would call for one of her servants, swatting Vlad's hand away from her thigh as she did so. "Aldeen," the woman shouted and one of the servants would step out into the lighting from the pillars. He was tall and burly guy, one that stood around 6'5" and looked as if he worked out as a hobby when he wasn't serving Marceline. "Would you please escort Vlad to one of the many guest rooms and make sure that he's comfortable for the night?" The man grunted as an answer and walked toward the man, lifting him up by the collar of his shirt and setting him straight on his feet. Afterward, the man would beckon for the guy to follow, heading out of the throne room and up the stairs to one of the guest bedrooms. Marceline would merely watch as Vladimir was whisked away by her servant and brought to one of the several guest rooms.
