OOC: Since this job has been specifically sent to Vargas, I'll recruit you ICly

Vargas had already taken out two of the Hell's Gates that had been emerging across Fiore. He had been solving that problem ever since his latest private requests had turned into mimics of each other; with people he had met before asking to investigate and put down all threats related to the appearance of those mysterious black monoliths that apparently linked both the human realm and Hell, the Underworld, or whatever name you wanted to give it. So far, the white haired mage had gotten a grasp on the situation with the help of both a couple of demons who had joined his ranks, and that woman, Leila, that had assisted him while taking care of Djiin, the fiery beast that guarded the Canyon's gate. Now, the Seig stood there, at Magnolia, where his latest request had demanded him to be.

He had already met up with the client, who had asked to put an end to that issue as soon as possible, no matter the method; however, the Seig knew that there were a bit of rules to go by. They probably didn't want him to destroy East Forest in the process, for example. However, while he'd try his best not to do so, if the situation was way too dangerous then he'd have to go all out, which was risky as heck due to the collateral damage his magic tended to cause. So far it had been on a smaller scale, but... now that he was beginning to acquire more powerful demonic souls to add to his arsenal, he didn't know what to expect.

Now, that time he had been informed that cow and bull-like devils were infesting the area, with one particularily big and with the most calm demeanor of them all. From what he had been told it was just interested in eating... though its diet was herbivorous, reports stated. The Seig was quite curious and, to be honest, eager for some good fighting, so it was only natural that he wanted to get down to business as soon as possible. He was beginning to get near the now restricted perimeter of East Forest. Perhaps someone would be there to see what that was about, seeing that Guilds and the Council hadn't been informed yet?

Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith] Empty 877 WORDS

Post by Terith 31st July 2016, 1:47 am

A favorite pass time of his was to navigate the tricky surface of a town's roof structures, leaping off from each one with ease now that his abilities had been better tailored thanks to a significant growth in power in the prior days, an achievement that he quietly mulled over, time and time again. Though he knew better that his powers were none the greater against larger threats, and hence, he's come to develop a great thirst for things that would potentially offer him a hefty challenge. It wasn't simply a yearn for power, but rather an advocate to better understand the energies within him, the mysteries that neither spirit could answer for him. Hence began his travels, traversing the world of Fiore to better his fighting style. Though he had already sworn his loyalty to a certain golden lady prior, he simply could not will himself to stay bounded for very long, but he'd eventually come back, for sure, with nothing but a new found strength to present to the woman who wields Excalibur in her grip, a being he'd only dream of surpassing.

His journeys were very rarely mundane as he was, at best, quite gifted in assuming a stroll whenever the times were most interesting. Its as if there had been a compass implanted into his head that always directed the swordsman to a fascinating venture in wait, where greater adversaries were seemingly wriggling in their impatience, allies bound to be part of the scheme, and he was surely more than willing to involve himself when an opportunity such as that came to present itself. This instance being no exception to that timely fact, his leisurely thoughts stopping as they yielded to a large structure that he could spot overhead from his spot atop a Magnolian Inn, where his legs hung loosely over the edges of the red tiled roof. With a curiosity burning sharply into his thought process, he'd narrow his eyes at the large thing that pulsed with a menacing aura from over yonder, situated nicely due east, in a forest that had not been too far from where he currently took rest. With a little push, he might just reach the destination without missing any of the good stuff that might crawl out of it.

"What the hell is that thing?" he mumbled under his breath, the structure's dark colors beckoning his interest further. "...Guess it won't do me any harm if I go check it out."

A soundless sigh slipped from his lips as he leaped off the roof, his body falling aimlessly from quite the height, his clothes flipping around him furiously. Thankfully there hadn't been any spectators to his stunt, as it was still well into the early morning, which was what fueled his strangely calm expression as he gazed at his skewed view of a rising sun. And with a second to spare from his indefinite death, he spoke two words that prevented him from meeting an early end.

    "Memento...mori!"

At once, he felt the material of his cloak singe in a light blue flame that invoked a dark outer shell over his skin -sticking to his fingers, layering over his joints and filtering a pressure into his bones. The spirit of Hanzo had not been pleased as he grumbled in his space, but all the more did it create a smile on the swordsman's face as The Resilience allowed him to seamlessly stop the momentum by attaching his feet to the exterior of the inn, his figure jutting out in a side ward stance.

'Your timing for my summon is neither impeccable nor amusing, vessel.' Hanzo would say, crossing his ethereal arms over his non-existent, yet presumably buff chest. 'What point is there for you to thrust yourself into a danger that is clearly way out of your league?'

Terith wasn't sure whether or not Hattori was referring to the looming black structure birthing a type of chaos in the forest, or his false attempt at suicide. Either way, his theory on Hanzo's willingness to answer to the call when his life was in danger was clearly proven correct, and he was eerily content that he decided to jump off the roof, anyway.

'There are many points, Hattori, the most impotant one being a test to see just how far my limits are.'

'You're quite adamant to find your own undoing, aren't you? Well...as your Resilience, perhaps I earn myself less credit than what I'm supposed to have thanks to your schemes.'

The swordsman offered the spirit a shrug and a weak chuckle, understanding how his pride must've gotten in the way of his compliment. It was too early for a light bicker anyway, so the simply let the statement be, quickly assuming his running stance that allowed him to run down the walls of the inn, streaks of blue lining his afterimages. The process of travel was silent and instantaneous as he raced across the canopies, where he still found the need to stop every once in a while to reaffirm his bearings. And within a designated five minutes or less, the armored figure had eventually come to a clearing where the structure still significantly towered over his form despite being high up in the trees.

    "Hot damn."

Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith] Empty Re: Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith]

Post by akashi 1st August 2016, 3:45 pm

As the Seig casually walked through the forbidden area, given that he held no regards for Magnolia's authorities (and had been authorized to enter by his client, which was just about all the permission he needed), the white haired Devil's Arms user began musing the best way to sneak by the forest without getting too much attention. He now knew that most of the lesser demons only tended to serve as a prelude for the more savage ones, which were the most important ones to kill. So, avoiding confrontation with the small fries in order to have fun with the big bad? Yeah, why not? Still, that meant that his options were quite limited when it came to being, well, stelathy. His magic tended to cause way too much collateral damage, whether he wanted it or not. Valag's explosive Ruin shots, Asag's gust aura, Djiin's flaming edges that set anything ablaze, Shade and Gleam's characteristic sounds when firing... heck, his only weapon for said type of job was probably Faust, and then again they were twin shotguns, so they did make some noise.

Vargas was just about going to enter the forest, thinking about how he would be pretty much unable to use Djiin there unless they wanted everything to burn to a crisp, when he caught notice of a familiar figure jumping around the place. If memory served him right, that was the same guy that he had teamed up with during the rebuilding of Hargeon town, right? There, at the outer parts of the forest, the Hell's Gate loomed over them in a way that might've been similar to that of Kardia Cathedral. Hmm... Djiin's gate hadn't been that massive, nor was Shade and Gleam's, right? Did that mean that different Hell's Gates came in different sizes, too? 'Cause it was easy to say that the Guilds were more than knowing of the huge monolith's presence in East Forest.

At any rate, Terith was there, standing in the midst of a clearing, while the Gate was ahead, still some way to go. As the other mage stopped there to mutter something, Vargas's voice echoed from behind. Ah, screw being stealthy. -Oi, Terith! That you? -the mage in the red trenchcoat asked out loud, as if wanting to confirm his thoughts. Once he approached closer, he'd see that, indeed, it was the same guy from Hargeon. Heh, that had been a nice day.
However, at that moment there was little time to stop by and talk about how things were around town.

Once the man got near the newcomer, he'd simply explain the situation. -I'd probably ask you what are you doing around East Forest, but... you saw that thing over there, right? -he asked, pointing to the Hell's Gate. -That ain't good. In fact, I've been tasked to destroy it by one of my clients... and it's not the first one that I've encountered so far. -the male explained, his arms crossed. While he didn't expect to have help, having more mages nearby would probably be better to secure the area.

Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith] Empty 372 WORDS

Post by Terith 2nd August 2016, 9:41 am

Terith was no lucky man, as he himself had an intense belief that involved his accumulative fortune being placed at the very bottom of the probability scale. Granted, however, it seemed coincidence was probably his best asset as of current, his eyes wide as he stared down at the figure calling out to him from below. Simply following his color scheme called for a due ounce of astonishment from within the swordsman, though it did very little to answer the riddles that surrounded the place. In fact, with Vargas being tossed into the fray, all of the mysteries had decidedly become ten times harder to decipher, but along with such came the fact that the other man's presence in the matter also increased the lure on his interest, his feet meeting the ground as he approached Vargas with his curiosity leaking through his actions in copious amounts.

And it seems Vargas took to this immediately, answering his unspoken queries with a masterful knowledge of the subject, unintentionally causing Terith to smile a little due to a gnawing excitement in him, a notion that was only ever evident to the very observant. "I came from Magnolia, actually, I got a glimpse of this thing from afar, and well...." his voice trialed off a little, feeling a slight tremble escape his nerves as he focused on the thing from this perspective, their figures significantly dwarfed by the structure.

"Fascinating." he began, rubbing his chin in thought, "So, let me assume, nasty stuff are gonna pour out of its mouth, right?" he cracked a grin, the prospect of a challenge only growing further. "I haven't seen you since our little involvement with a broken Hargeon, and my memory's a little sketchy so...care to explain to a pal what they are and what we can do to cope with the damage it might cause?"

In his head, he'd hear the low sneering of an unimpressed spirit, his expressions perhaps akin to being displeased with how the swordsman was tackling an unknown entity with the enthusiasm of a child nearing an ice-cream stand. Yet his resolve still stands, his fingers flexing a little as he readied himself for the future scuffle that could erupt at any given moment.

Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith] Empty Re: Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith]

Post by akashi 5th August 2016, 5:04 pm

Well, it looked like the other male did remember him from their previous interaction. As Vargas approached, his words catching Terith's attention, the newcomer turned his attention at the white haired Devil's Arms user. He probably didn't expect to meet him there, because the Seig was a wandering mage, after all, and having no operation base or area in which he tended to specifically work made it much more difficult to personally contact him. The Etherblade user looked like he was quite interested in what the Hell's Gate was, and even though Vargas only offered a small explanation before awaiting for his old companion to answer or retort, his words were enough to make him let out a simple "fascinating".

At any rate, Terith had gone there to check out the huge monolith that now took a lot of East Forest's landscape. The view was quite tainted by it, so news that it was there wouldn't take too long to finish spreading. The white haired mage ought to get to work as fast as possible, looking at the humongous structure and pointing at it. -Yep, that's a bad girl alright. Definitely the largest one I've seen so far... wonder what kind of demon might've gotten out of that hamster hole! -he mentioned, as if to answer his partner's question. However, he then realized that Terith probably had no idea what the heck was all that about.

-It's pretty simple, actually. That thing is like a big door from which all sorts of nasty shit come in. So, when you don't want that entering your house, what's to do? You close the door -the male stated, taking a few steps towards the black stone obelisk. Vargas would then turn and slightly rose his arms to the sides.

-So, are you ready to hear my masterplan to deal with this kind of situation? I have to warn you, it's a pretty complicated process, so I need you to pay attention here -the male was beginning to prepare a joke, making a dramatic pause and taking air as if it was going to be an incredibly long and boring explanation. -First! We go into the forest.

He'd then pause again, and continued.

-Second! We kill whatever demon gets in our way or we happen to find!
-And third, and this is the most complex part... We... we... -at this point it should be clear that he was just making a huge gag out of that whole situation.
-...we tear that shit down. Until it's no more than a pile of black dust.

The man would await to see if Terith had anything to comment on his "master plan", and then proceeded to talk.

-Like I told you, I've been hired to do it myself, but... last time it turned out pretty nasty, even with help. So, now that you're here, why don't we do some business? You help me destroy that thing, and half of the payment is all yours, pal.

Devil May Cry: ÖRDÖG [Job | Terith] Empty 385 WORDS

Post by Terith 10th August 2016, 5:58 am

Terith deftly crossed his arms over his chest, his contemplating expression never leaving the dark structure overhead. "Demons you say?" he'd repeat, his voice laced over with an irregular curiosity that even he was complied to raise a brow at the tone. Vargas would continue with his speech that grossed over the contents of the gate and the forces that littered behind it, and although it seemed simple enough, the swordsman was indefinitely convinced that there was a greater meaning to the entire process that consisted of destroying everything related to the gate, albeit told through a series of light-hearted comments from the white-haired male. The swordsman wasn't so sure if the issue proved little difficulty for Vargas that he seemed to pass it all off with mild jesting, but perhaps he had a reason to, as his general aura was both reserved and relaxed, uncannily in a situation that threatened the natural balance of the surrounding areas.

"Tear it down, huh? I like the sound of that."

He'd instinctively roll his shoulders slightly as he regarded the lack of tension with little surprise and decided to go with it, idealizing an experience that'd both seem amusing for either party, though seen in different ways. Terith briefly wondered the reason behind this being a personal request -was it because the client only sought for Vargas specifically? Or was there a deeper story to the simple one-man job? He wouldn't know, but whatever the answers that were to be provided would only ever affect his ignorance on the matter. In the end, he'd still regard the man as a capable ally, and the swordsman was greatly pleased that he'd be fighting along someone who could hold his own, in a sense where they could hang loose and simply revel in the scuffle with the best of their polished skills.

The young blonde offered Vargas a nod, his cheeky grin hidden by his armor's headgear. "Heh. You've got yourself a deal then." he'd say, although the cash deemed little importance to the cause in comparison to the actual weight of the situation. Though it wouldn't bother to get paid -it'd be nice to travel back to Midi again, one way or another, and if this little escapade gave him the much needed sum, then all the more.
