Ancalagon flapped his wings heavily through the air, soaring over the size of Magnolia before landing down in East Forest. In the bird's sharp jaws was the beauty of Fairy Tail, seemingly unmoving and blood coating the entirety of one side of her face. He lowered his head the closer he got to the home of Jaeger and Kanix, placing the woman gently on the ground. She was breathing shallowly, one arm resting over her bruised ribs and stomach, the other splayed across the grass. Her porcelain skin was patched with cuts and scratches, including an acidic burn on the side of her stomach, where the orb had hit. Kanix's pet curled protectively around her and gave out a small, whiny screech toward her, as if trying to stir her away. Quietly, he rested his head across her legs and stared across into one of the windows of the home, hoping Jaeger was home or somewhere around.

He let out another whine, much louder this time, nuzzling into Kanix; his sides making short, quick movements, as if he was chuffing at her.

    Kanix

A house on the outskirts of Magnolia, a wonder for the whole world to see, tucked away to hide under a light canopy of forest. The wonder wasn't it's lavish style, it wasn't the expensive tastes, it was a promise. A promise of commitment that a mage, Jaeger, had made to a lovely young woman who was to be his... to be the mother of his child. Oh was she a sight, truly a natural wonder and gift to Earthland. That wasn't enough, Kanix, the goddess to which blesses this land, was sweet and kind-hearten. She was a woman that could drive a man to go mad with desire. However, in midst of a rather passionate day dream, a large shadow swooped around and landed. Dreaming of the devil....

Jaeger walked out onto the porch that overlooked the open back yard into the forest. How fortunate, his lover was home as he was just imagining her. Only thing was, the Large pet, Acnalagon, was carrying someone in its mouth. It's tone and whining, the creature was worried. Why would he be.... the Nature mage leaped from the porch and lunged for the forest. Pets would only care and whine for their owners or partners like this. The man was in a dead panic to reach the beast, not only for her sake, but the babies as well.

With haste, the brunette gentleman arrived at his intended destination. As he had feared, Kanix was laying the ground and covered in wounds. Jaeger skidded on the grass, staining his suit as he came to a stop in line with the woman's side. Her stomach was bruised and burned, cuts and scrapes littered her sweet, beautiful skin, and the worse of all, her eye. The right eye of this goddess was missing, scoped or ripped out of the socket. Who... who would have done this to such a sweet and perfect woman? Anger and Sadness were mixing in the mans brain, his comprehension was soaring out his ears and into the sky above. The Thunderbird, looked at the man who was panicking and nudged him, almost if to say “What are you doing, help.”.

With a shake of his head, the grogginess left him. He had to act now to help the mother of his child and the apple of his eye. Nava came up from behind, feeling the sadness and anger in the air from the house. Jaeger knew he had to Kanix to the hospital and the best way for that would be to ride on the Red Pandas back. This is what the man did and they took off... in a rush. Eventually, they made it to the hospital where emergency medical services took over. They took the women into the emergency care.

Not much could have been done about Kanix's missing eye, but the doctors had managed to patch up the eye socket and stop the bleeding. They didn't have an eye to replace her missing one with, but they knew well enough that she would survive the injury. The next thing they had worked on were the burns covering her body; the patchwork of raw skin, where Sol's magic had begun eating away at her. Most of it was cleaning out the dirt and grime, as well as making sure no more poison was running through her. It was their utmost priority to make sure the child was all right and that none of the poison had managed to get to it. Once the check over and patching up was done, however, Kanix was sent off to one of the empty rooms in the hospital. She was left there to rest, and a nurse walked off to the waiting room in order to tell Jaeger the current situation of his woman.

The light clacking of heels on marble floor could be heard as the nurse walked toward the waiting room and to Jaeger. A clipboard was held in her hand and as she paused in front of the man resting in one of the chairs, she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Mr. Krüger?" the woman inquired in a soft voice, "I'm here on doctor's orders to inform you about your... wife?" She shifted her weight from one hip to the other and held onto one of her arms until Jaeger was looking intently up at her. "It's been informed to me that they were successful in stopping the bleeding in her eye, but because there was no eye to work with, nothing could be done about restoring it. Unfortunately, they couldn't do much more of the basic work on her, since we have no medical records on the woman. As for the child... it was fortunate enough that none of the poison had reached the womb; the child is still healthy and active."

Silence followed after her words and she shifted her weight again, then cleared her throat and proceeded to speak. "She's currently in one of our rooms; if you would like to visit her, you can follow me and I'll show you the room she's in." With that being said, the woman would turn on her heels and walk away from Jaeger, heading back to Kanix's temporary room. It wasn't long before she was back at the room and knocking the door, whether the Sleeping Forest mage had followed her or not. "Kanix, do you mind if I come in?" the woman called from behind the door, one hand raised as if to knock again. Only when there was a small noise from within, did the nurse open the door and step inside, holding it open if Jaeger followed. "Your husband is here to visit you, Kanix, are you well enough for visitors or do you want me to tell him off?"

Kanix rolled her head toward the door, listening to the nurse talking, but not saying anything while she spoke. She appeared to be almost... depressed... saddened... at the idea that she had survived the attack Sol pulled on her. Turning her head away from the nurse, she stared back in the direction of the window, numbed to the pain she had. "Jaeger?" she murmured his name, hoarse and sadness- no, fear- coating the succulent sweetness of her voice. "I'm so sorry..." The words had the sound of tears in them, but he wouldn't be able to see her crying with her head turned away. "I... should've left right away the moment I sensed Sol in the area, but I didn't... I thought I could reconcile with him. I'm so sorry, Jaeger... I jeopardized the life of our child out of selfishness and hope... and look where it got me now..."

Tears were rolling down the cheek of her single eye, and she sniffled, her hands moving to her stomach beneath the blankets. "I... was scared..." she whispered in her rasping voice, hesitant in speaking louder in fear that he would truly hear her crying. "I've never felt so scared in my entire life; I could feel the intent of killing me just radiating off his entire body... I don't know what it had been, but whatever he was talking about earlier had saved me from losing our lives." In that moment, she turned her head back to Jaeger, where it was now clear to him that she was crying from her mistake. "He... threatened... threatened to... child... out..." She couldn't get the next sentence out without being entirely upset over it. She reached an arm up and called to him with her hand, wanting him sitting or near her as a form of comfort.

    Kanix

The worried man paced around the waiting room. His hands shaking, sighes trembling, and his ears stinging and red with anticipation of the news. Kanix was in very bad shape and who knows about the baby developing in her stomach. All this was making the man loose his balance and relaxed nature. Was this what it'll be like? The constant worry, the unnerving feeling of failure to protect those he cares about? Now the panic was beginning to sink in, his face flush and ghastly. Jaegers pacing was picking up, sweat beads would drop from his goatee and onto the floor. A passing nurse took notice and sat them man down and tried to calm him. It was clear this was his first time being in this situation.

Eventually, another nurse came out from a hallway and asked for Jaeger, one Mr. Krüger. The other nurse that had been there to try and calm the mans mind got up and left, getting back to her own duties. The brunette head looked up and leaped over to the nurse in heels. ”W...wife?” and for a breif moment, the mage would blush at the very thought, distracting him from the real issue at hand. He wanted to ask after Kanix though. How was the woman? Is she okay? Did the baby get hurt? So many questions he wanted to ask but the nurse would go on to give him the run down. Kanix was out of the critical time period, it would appear. The baby wasn't harmed and they were able to treat the poison and cuts. The only problem was his lovers eye. Due to the fact that there was no eye to deal with anymore, all the staff could do was bandage it up. The male was speechless and silence soon followed the debriefing. The nurse eventually spoke up again and invited Jaeger to come see her.

They walked down a hall or two until the nurse stopped and opened the door. The raven haired woman looked away and didn't want to face Jaeger directly. Sadness, depression, fear, and terror. Whatever had happened to her had really shaken the beauty up. His eyes lowered in his own sadness, seeing the woman he was beginning to love, the one he promised to be with and walk along her side. He truly had failed her. The man couldn't be her protector when she needed it most. Kanix went on to explain what had happened and apologized. He didn't know who this Sol was... but the name will stick to the Great Tree Mage for as long as he lived.

The moment she turned to look at him, Jaeger swiftly moved forward. His arms wrapped around the woman in a heart felt embrace. One arm went to hold her around her back, propping the woman up. Another went upward as a hand could support Kanixs head and cradle it into his own shoulder. The man let her tears flow onto his suit. His head rests and nuzzled onto her left shoulder. What she said, her apologizing just went out the window for him. The male mage was just glad she was alive and able to talk.

”I'm sorry Kanix... I should have been there, to protect you and the baby.”

Jaeger whispered to the mother of his soon to be born child. Sure, she probably should have run off, but that isn't what's important at the moment. Kanix was... alive and the baby isn't hurt. HE then leaned back and rested his hands on her shoulders. He needed to try to reassure Kanix, show her that she and and anything else can recover. Normally, he'd give the person a warm, comforting smile. This wouldn't necessarily work on a person with no sight. So the next step would be to talk calmly so the woman will have something to Anchor too in this time of crisis.

”It's Okay, Beautiful. You don't need to worry over this right now. What's important is that the baby is fine and you're alive.

Just get your rest, My Love.”

The man said, leaned up, kissed her forehead, and then moved a hand down to lock his fingers in with hers.
    It'll be okay...r

The comforting embrace from Jaeger lulled the sobs that wracked her body and she held on tightly to him as he hugged her. Her fingers curled into fists where they grasped onto his suit, burying her face into his shoulder until it hurt to do so. It hurt to cry soon after, the pain in her missing eye too excruciating to want to shed the tears of pain and sorrow she felt. Eventually, he released her from the hug and moved his hands to her shoulders, when all she wanted was to lay there in his arms. Resting there would have been better to her than laying on the cold sheets of the hospital bed and simply holding his hand. His efforts in comforting her were futile though, as thoughts ran through her head that reversed the effect he was trying to have. However, she also knew that apologizing to him would do no good for the situation, as no one, but Sol, were at fault here.

"I will not look as pretty to you..." she murmured, her hair mildly shrouding her face as her head shamefully lowered. Kanix reached up with a slender hand to touch the cotton that covered her eye socket, letting the tips of her fingers rest there. If she did not look as pretty as she had before, would he still love her the way she was or did he only like her for her looks? Even so, he was only with her because of the child, what would have happened if no child had been involved at all? The fact she lost an eye had hardly an effect on her, as blindness was normality for her; it was that Sol hated her that got to her. She was nothing more than a traitor to her form guild, and yet here she was, sobbing over the idea they would never like her again. "You wouldn't be able to love someone as ugly as I am... I'll get my revenge on Sol; I'll make sure that dragon of poison never sees the light of day again."

For a moment, that last sentence sounded as if she was possessed by an other worldly creature, but only for a second. Thereafter, the voluptuous woman had remained silent, her head lowered as if she was ashamed of herself. Jaeger locked hands with her and her head shifted to look in the general direction of their hands, her fingers shifting against his. He was trying to comfort her to the best of his ability, but nothing could quell the emotions she was feeling right now. Pain in her stomach irrupted on her side and she fell against Jaeger's chest, one hand gingerly pressed to the sore area. Ever since the poison had entered her system, the baby had been active and kicking, most times rather painfully. Sweat appeared on her brow as the pain finally ceased a minute after, and her hand dropped to her side.

While the doctor had told her the child was fine, she still feared the worse was yet to come, that something was wrong. This was just the mindset of a first-time mother, however; the overactive worrying that would make her sick to her stomach. The pain started up again, but this time, it was a lot less stronger, so she carefully took one of Jaeger's hand and place it where the pain was. "He must know I'm upset," she spoke softly, a light smile coming across her face as she rested calmly in that position. No... Jaeger was right... everything would be okay... this was just a small bump in the road she would have to get over. For now, she would enjoy his company, nuzzle into him, pulling him lightly as a beckoning for him to rest in the bed with her. She could use all the comfort she could get right now, whether it involved chatting with him or sitting in the silence.

"I made the mistake of believing in people when I shouldn't have... I thought that I could change the way they saw me, but I couldn't. I'll forever be seen as a traitor to Basilisk Fang, no matter by whom lived in there or whether they've met me before. If that's how they want to see me, then that's how I will be seen by them; I'm not going to let that take control of me..." her voice had gotten louder and less hoarse now.

    Kanix

The woman was worried and it was only natural that she was. Her emotions were running rampant and his comforting was less than perfect. Everything that had gone on in her life, from what he knew, just tormented her. Kanix is a strong woman with a caring heart. Just to add to it all, she cared if Jaeger would still think she was pretty after this. The beauty of the blind mage was what led to the initial attraction, and yes they were having a child, but he searched her out after their moment in Enca, wanting more. Jaeger came around for her, not because of the baby. Kanix needed to hear him say what was needed, that he wanted to be around for her and not just the baby. The mage wanted to learn more about her, get to know the woman, and now keep her closer.

After declaring her revenge and before he could respond, Kanix fall against his chest, touching her stomach. The baby seems to have been quite riled up and was letting his mother know. One arm moved to wrap around Kanix, placing a hand on her back and giving it a bit of a rub. His woman moved his free hand to her stomach to feel where the child was kicking. Jaeger smiled softly, kind of enjoying feeling his child move about in the womb of Kanix. He would then be pulled closer as the woman nuzzled and cuddled into him. She wanted him to stay close, that much was sure. The man moved so they could rest in the bed together, placing an under her and resting the hand on her shoulder and arm.

After they got settled, her voice changed. She was more angry and less scared. She was declaring herself done with trying to change Basilisk Fang’s opinion of her. He smiled, enjoying her self-confidence that she was giving off. However, it was his time to reply, after her frustrated release.

Kanix, you’re gorgeous, no matter what happens. You’re beauty only opened the door but who you are had me coming back, all the way to Magnolia.”

The man said to her comments about not being pretty enough. He moved his free hand to lock back in with one of Kanix’s, rubbing his thumb over her slender fingers.

”I don’t want you thinking that I’m only interested in your for you looks, love, or staying around because of the little one in your belly. I stayed for you and the baby.

    Don’t worry about those Snakes… They’ll get what’s coming…

The man added and then whispered to himself. It may not be today, it may not be anytime soon, but The Dark Guild of Basilisk Fang would be etched into his heart and marked. For now, His focus should and will be on Kanix and making sure she gets well. The nurse eventually left to let them be and rest in the bed. To help get her mind off her former guild, he thought up question, the baby’s name. It won't be long before the kid is born and Jaeger doesn’t remember ever having a discussion about it.

”So Kanix, What should we name the boy?”

His words were, once again, only mildly reassuring to the former beauty, who let her single eye fall down to their interlocked hands. Thoughts clouded her mind, which corrupted the way she thought about the current situation, and even threatened to make her cry again. Everything was an emotional rollercoaster for her nowadays, that she was no longer certain if she could handle it. Life had become worse than her past, in the sense that her mind was beginning to crumble under all of the pressure. She kept silent as she spoke though, not wanting to interrupt Jaeger in what he was trying to do for her right now. In all honesty, she appreciated this; she appreciated the care that he was showing for her, even though she could easily turn on him. It wouldn't be that hard to find something sharp in the room and stab him with it. . . perhaps, Famine would be proud then?

"Jaeger. . ." she began, hesitating as he finished what he was saying, and not currently focusing on the idea of a name for a baby. "I wish that I could see. . . I really do, and not because of the baby, but I'm tired of having to rely on just my sense of hearing." Her blind gaze shifted from their hands to glance in his general direction, the scars prominent in the light cast upon her. "This blindness has been a part of my life for seven years now, and each day is just as hard as the one before it." Now, she was beginning to wonder if she should tell Jaeger more about her past, what exactly happened to make her the way she was. Kanix cleared her throat, and instead of continuing the current conversation, she decided to focus back on what he had asked. This was a vital question, for in the tribe she was raised in, a name was the most important thing for a child to have.

Yet, she was not adapt in the names of normal humans, as her previous name had been Kuwanyauma, or "Butterfly Showing Beautiful Wings." It was clear that she had stuck close to what her original name had sounded like, if only the hard 'k' sound. "I'm afraid I am not adapt in the naming of children, who were not birthed in the tribe, unless the child wouldn't mind such a strange name." She cast her gaze back to their hands and thought for a moment what she would have named the child, had they been a part of her tribe. "But in my tribe, he would have been given the name Ahote, or Restless One, for how active he has been through all of this." A smile was brought upon her face now, and her free hand moved down to rest upon her stomach that was not holding Jaeger's hand. Most names had special meanings in her tribe, but she was all right in giving the child a more appropriate name.

    Kanix

The woman was having none of his subject changing, not at first. While the mood did take another dip, the man was learning a bit more of Kanix, the mother of his Child. It wasn't ideal, to learn bits of info about her this way, but they hadn't really had the chance to just get to know one another. There was so much happening in their personal lives, jobs, trips, separate guilds, and whole other assorted things that kept them a part. Honestly, their relationship wouldn't grow and would likely just fade away if it continued.

Blindness, a curse to some and to others a blessing. It's all about perspective. In this case, the lovely raven haired beauty saw it as a curse. Not being able to see and enjoy the visuals of the world was truly depressing, especially if you had once been able to gaze. It would have been torture learning to live life this way. As she spoke of briefly of being blind, it hit him. There was a way to heal Kanix or so the legend suggests. A Tree of Life, long since thought extinct. It would have to do as that would be his only chance to show his woman the world once again.

”One of these days, My Love, we'll have to sit down and properly get to know one another.”

After that, the feel in the room seem to brighten up as the topic had finally changed. A name should have meaning, weather in the word itself or through sentiment. What he needed was a name of power an uniqueness. The pregnant woman's idea was probably the best. It was something that had meaning and sentimental value. Where as his own thoughts seemed a bit more fictional, something that ended in... mus. OPTIMUS. This was it, moment of his shining glory in naming a child.

    ”That is a wonderful name.

    ..

    How Does.... Optimus Decimis....”

Quite the problem. Whose surname was the child to take? Typically, children get their fathers last name, however, Jaeger and Kanix weren't married. With a bit more thought, the only way, until marriage is on the table, is for the child to have Kanix's last name of Laspor since he'd likely spend most of his time with her.

    ”Laspor. Optimus Decimis Laspor.”

Jaeger nodded, firmly as if he actually believed it was a good name.

That was the worst thing that could happen, is if their relationship simply faded away because they couldn't maintain it. Kanix couldn't raise a child on her own and it would be far too difficult to work as two different units when a child was in the mix. This child needed both parents and if they couldn't sustain a relationship, were forced to live together, what ruins would come? Their relationship was just as important as making sure the child growing inside of her was healthy and happy in its lifetime. They couldn't be fighting and arguing over petty things or not working on their own relationship because it could influence the child. The last thing that was needed was for the child to grow up with bad parenting and all the wrong morals in its head. A sigh escaped Kanix's lips and she leaned her head backward, resting it against the pillows on the bedding.

Tears managed to slip from the corners of her eye and where her missing eye couldn't shed tears, it cried with the use of blood. Red streaked one side of her face, while clear liquid tainted the porcelain skin of the beauty resting beside Jaeger. Her hand moved back to his, and she placed it upon the other, squeezing gently in search of the comfort again. It was painful to her to not be able to see, even though she was far used to it by now; it was the reminder that she never could see again that was painful. Without sight, what joy was there in world, save that it kept one from seeing the bad parts of what could be a beautiful world? Why would Those above prevent her from seeing the world that she was connected to in so many ways than one? Did they believe that she was better off never seeing what her world looked like, as a means of saving her from her past?

"I would love for that," Kanix answered him, a small smile lacing over her lips for, but a second of their time together.

The smile disappeared from her lips in that moment and she lifted her head back up to stare ahead of herself. Jaeger wasn't answering her question at first and it made her wonder if he wanted any part in naming the child. Perhaps, after her suggestion of a name, he no longer wanted to come up with something that could possibly one-up hers. However, her name suggestion was just as bad as his would be because who would want be named "Restless One?" No one would want to be named that, not even named "Ahote," to which the meaning had originally come from. She plopped back against the pillows again and stared blindly up at the ceiling, taking in the silence Jaeger was creating. Maybe he was thinking though, maybe he did want to help name the child, but just couldn't think of a good name.

Yes, her name she had proposed was wonderful, but the sad part of it was that the name was from a tribe that no longer existed. It would be too much heartbreak for her to want to name her child that, though at the same time she felt it necessary. Then. . . Jaeger gave his suggestion, and she laid there, staring at the ceiling, contemplating why he suggested such a stupid name.

"We. . . are not. . . naming our child Optimus Decimis. . . I don't even want to know where, why, or how you thought of that name," she responded. It was a rather rude comment, essentially, but the name was so fucking stupid to her that she couldn't handle it. Surely, he was only joking right? They wouldn't be naming their child something as strange as "Optimus Decimis?" Besides, who wanted a middle name that ended similarly to their first name? It sounded too harsh to her. Not to mention, but her last name made it all the more worse in her opinion, and that was mostly because Laspor wasn't even her real last name. Hell, she couldn't even remember what her real name was or if she even had one to begin with before she was kidnapped. She wanted to slap him across the face, but that wasn't the point, it was that he cared to give a suggestion that got to her.

It meant a lot to her for him to sticking with this, when she knew he was bound to run away from the situation.

He laid there in silence as the woman responded to his name suggestion. She wasn't thrilled, some could say she was pissed at him for making up such a stupid name. It was a good name though! Strong, loyal, and one that spoke to a leadership position. For now, however, he would need to play off the horrible suggestion. To do that, it would need to be a joke.... Yeah a joke. That was within the realm of his personality, using humor and stupid troll-ish jokes to lighten the mood. Even though he couldnt see, he grinned sheepishly.

”It was... a joke..to uh, help lighten the mood up?”

The man replied, chuckling nervously through his sheepish smile. Perhaps all they needed for the moment was to rest and hold one another. There was no need to rush naming the child, the boy was still growing in the womb after all. After laying there in silence, Jaeger leaned over and gave her a gentle, comforting kiss to her forehead and holding her close. Yes, for now, all he could do is to keep the beautiful woman close, make sure she feels wanted and safe, and to plot a way to help her. The bastard that did this wont get away but healing her takes priority.
    Yeah... Totally a joke.
