Calico sat slumped over in the back of an old rickety wooden cart being pulled by a slow-moving horse. Snores sneaked out of his drooling mouth until the cart's front left wheel bumped over an unlucky stone in the cobble road. The man jerked awake and searched his surroundings for his whereabouts. A bright blue sky and a lively sun floated above him while the scent of freshly cut grass and well groomed gardens graced his nose. Regular town chatter and the rolling of wheels against the cobblestone made up the majority of the noise that occupied the man's ears. Calico wiped the drool from his lips onto the wrists of his metal gauntlets and twisted his head to meet the cart's driver to ask, "Mister, we 'bout there?" He spoke gently like any man blessed with a rejuvenating nap would.

The man grumbled, "Mhm. We in Magnolia Town now. Not much longer." The age-stricken cart driver bowed his hat-covered head in a somber tiredness. He gave everyone who passed by the impression he worked as a farmer which was not inaccurate. Calico happened upon the man while moving through Onibus. A tired Calico had offered him a few coins in return for a ride to Magnolia Town and the farmer willingly obliged for the Jewels.

Calico stretched his legs out and leaned back against the front of the cart. He stared up into the blue serene sky as he reached over for the light leather bag in the cart's corner and pulled out one of its abundant bread rolls. He tossed the succulent roll into his mouth and savored its moderate warmness. When his teeth finished chewing through it, he asked the old farmer, "Tell me about the guild again, Raphael."

The farmer smacked his lips and sighed, "They're trouble makers... all of them!" He squinted to keep his eyes on the road as he contemplated something more substantial to comment on. "They be lead by a man named Heero Reyold." Raphael grumbled some more and Calico reeled back into his own thought train.

"Reyold huh?" Calico smiled and reached into his bag of bread again.

"Hey! We're here! Get out of my cart!" Calico pulled his eager hand from the bread bag and hoisted it over his shoulder. His head swayed over to the large building that stood out from the commercially correct buildings they had passed through the town. The words Fairy Tail covered the entrance's banner and the guilds famous insignia hung just below the great bell at the top. Calico chuckled at how regal the guild hall appeared. He almost felt like royalty approaching a castle.

"Thanks for the ride." He smirked at the back of the farmer's head and hopped off the wooden cart. He whistled a low tune while he approached the glamorous door. He did not know if he should treat it like a private building and knock or a public one and just walk right in. He chose the latter. Calico entered into a cafeteria-like room and looked around with a portion of confusion filling his head. He felt awkward and a little ignorant about who to speak with. To keep himself from becoming a fool, the man took a seat at one of the tables and laid his bread bag on the chair next to him. His presence was not the least bit secretive since his metal boots thumped loudly against the wooden floorboards. He looked a little lost but content enough.

It was a normal day in the guild hall. People were laughing, people were drinking and people were fighting. And then there was Julius laying with his upper body on a table half asleep. Julius will never... drink... again... Ow... Julius's head feels like it's going to explode... For the first time in Julius's life he drank some beer. He promised himself to take only 1 beer but 1 beer quickly became 2 and 2 became 3 and etc. Maybe Julius should have listened to the others... Actually it's their fault with saying "But Julius you're the son of a pirate! Drinking is in your blood." Well Julius thinks it's not in Julius's blood...

Julius turned his body around so he could see the guild's entrance and then a man came walking through it. Julius needed to focus his eyes to make sure it is someone it is that he never had saw before. A new guild member? I'll guess I will go and say hi. Julius stood up and he putted on his blue pirate coat he used as sleeve. He walked to the new guy who was already sitting down at a table and for the first time Julius didn't did his normal enthusiastic introduction. Julius grabbed one of the new guys hands and shook them very weakly Hi... My name is... Julius Seas... What is your name? Where do... you come... from? What... kind of... magic do you use? Julius... uses... water magic...

Calico noticed an intoxicated man walking over to him the best someone in his condition could. Calico hopped up from his seat to help the man (who would identify himself as "Julius"). Julius found the opportunity to welcome the newcomer with a mediocre handshake and a string of barely coherent sentences. Calico felt very confused but kept his smile as a gesture of kindness and gave the hardest handshake he could so as not to give a bad first impression while hoping he wouldn't damage the poor drunk's hand. Julius' first impression was ironically the opposite. He was drunk, spoke in third person (an effect of the alcohol?), had a weak handshake, and was probably the first water mage in history who couldn't handle a drink. His only redeemable quality was the large coat he brought with him. Calico thought it fashionable.

"Well Julius, you can call me Calico." He strengthened his smile and brought Julius over to the table he was seated at. The young man looked like he needed a seat before he fell over anyway. "And I guess he could say I practice bread magic," he laughed as he reached into his bread bag and produced one of the succulent bread rolls. He was obviously not a bread mage, whatever that is, but he figured Julius wouldn't remember anyway. He held the roll up to Julius and told him, "Have it. I heard food in your stomach helps you sober up." Calico didn't know if that was true, but he pulled the bread bag up and placed up on the table next to Julius in case he desired more.

"To answer ya' question, bud, I'm from a little town up north but I've been in Seven for a while." Calico spoke as if he were relieved. He did not exactly enjoy the last bits of his time over in Seven and felt a little less burdened every time he mentioned he wasn't there anymore. Calico reached for one of his own bread rolls but didn't eat it, just played with it in his hand before asking the question on his mind. "Tell me about you Julius. Are you... are you a member of this guild or just visiting?" Calico hoped the farmer's warning of Fairy Tail being filled with trouble makers was an exaggeration but the idea of the first guild member he met being inebriated would probably cast some doubt.

Being pleased with his workout session in the guild pool. Gamon decided that he should most likely get some food in him and maybe even some more water. It's not like he didn’t inhale enough while doing his 20 laps.  He jumped out of the pool and walked over to one of the, lounge chairs set up along the side of the pool, that held his belongings. In the chair next to his ideas laid a small black cat. He wasn’t to sure if she was awake or not, but knowing his exceed she was most definitely asleep. He grabbed the towel that hung on the back of the chair to start to dry off.

“Hey, Tykva! You awake, lazy?” He questioned as he slowly dried himself off. Tykva slowly opened her eyes and stretched, “Yeah, of course. I would never take a nap here.” she responded sarcastically. “I’m going to head up, to go grab some food and maybe a drink. You coming?” “Yeah, I guess. I got nothing else better to do.” Gamon slung his damp towel around his neck. He decided against putting on his shirt, considering he was still pretty wet. Under the towel one could see his toned body and his six pack. Anyone could also see his multiple scars up and down his arms; as well as the large scar that ran down this cheek to his shoulder.

As they made their way to the bar to see what they had to eat and drink. Gamon noticed a new face he hadn’t seen before talking to Julius. It always seemed like that guy could sense when there is a new person in the guild, like he had some kind of alarm system set up. “Any idea of who the Julius is talking to?” He ask the bartender. “No clue, but maybe your should go check up on them. Julius had one too many I think.” “Yeah I guess I can. Got to make sure he doesn’t scare this one away.”

He walked over to the two of them Tykva followed close behind. Gamon place a hand on Julius’s shoulder. “How are we doing today, Julius?” He was trying to gage how drunk he was. Looking up at the stranger sitting across from Julius, “Hi! The my name is Gamon. He hasn’t said or done anything too weird has he?” He said with a slight smile on his face.

The new guy stood up and introduced himself as Calico. He helped Julius sit down and he said he used bread magic. Bread magic? Julius wasn't sure if the alcohol affected his hearing but as soon Calico grabbed his bag he pulled a bread roll out of it and said that food would help Julius sober up a bit. Calico placed the bread in front of Julius. Calico told Julius that he is from a small town in the north Calico grabbed a bread and asked Julius if he was a member of the guild Julius was eating the bread Calico grabbed Oh my gosh you're right Calico-san it really helps! And to answer your question Julius is a member of the guild. Julius was feeling better already because of the rest he got from the table and because of the bread he got from Calico. And at the same time Gamon came walking by without a shirtless. And asked if Julius was alright. Well Julius wasn't feel well but thanks to the bread from Calico-san Julius is feeling better! He then introduced himself to Calico and asked if Julius didn't do anything weird in his drunk state.

Calico nodded to Gamon and give his own name with a cheery smile, "Calico. And he has a funny way of talking but nah, he's a real hoot! We might even have a drinking contest later." He laughed and patted Julius on the shoulder as if nothing was amiss. His own smile waned when he saw the trail of scars along Gamon's body. It seemed odd for someone so young-looking to bear so many scars. I wonder what he does for a living... He would have to remind himself to ask about the scars sometime later, if they ever crossed each others' paths again. Now just didn't seem like the appropriate time.

"You look a little wet Gamon. Does this place have pool or...?" Calico paused himself when saw a little furry creature following behind Gamon. A black cat! Calico got up from his seat and grabbed one of the bread rolls with him to examine the little thing, with his metal boots thumping against the wooden floor again. He almost looked like a boy as he crouched over and tried to pet what he thought to be a regular cat. A cat! I love cats! What's the little guy's name?" Calico had a great wide smile on his face and spoke as if it were just a normal, unintelligent cat (and a male one at that). He even held out a bread roll for the tiny beast like he was coaxing any other feline.

"I bet you would get along well with my own little friend." The idea of his own cat having a playmate filled him with laughter on the inside. He didn't mind showing his own glee either.

    Post by Haru-senpai 5th November 2015, 10:03 am

Heero stood a top Fairy Tail, on the second floor of the outdoor balcony it was a sunny; lazy day in Magnolia. The streets didn't seem too nutty today. A few birds flew by; as the town stretched out in front of him for miles in every direction.

He would lean on the bannister of the 2nd Level and overlook the town, before making his way back down into the Guild, wearing his usual attire. Open white shirt with abs revealed, black pants with chains around his right leg, combat boots; and bandages covering his right arm---except for his fingertips.

Stretching as he walked downstairs he entered the 1st Floor Common Room and Bar. Making his way toward the stage; he would be joined by his Exceed, Garfield. The orange, talking walking cat would fly over to Heero and land on his shoulder; swishing his tail around as his wings would disappear.

People were showing up early, regular humans who needed jobs done started filing in for the day. Some sent their Job Requests in from across Earthland, some brought them in personally to the Guild. He noticed that he could hear Julius' voice over the crowd, which was rare--because Julius actually was usually very well mannered albeit a very curious young man. He wondered what had gotten him so fired up.

He heard Gamon's voice mixed in with the crowd as well---but he could've sworn when the Guild opened this morning, Gamon said he was going for a morning swim. He wondered how long he'd been up on the balcony, maybe his swim was over. With a shrug, Heero sat on the stage like he always did; one leg up and resting one arm on it. Gamon was one of his favorite people at the Guild---extremely honest and ready to throw someone through a table at any given moment.

The legendary wizard would listen in carefully; leaning his head sideways playfully as he listened to the newcomer. As Heero checked into his features---he could see the type of person he was. Genuine, honest, but not someone you wanted to piss off. A man's man, but not above being himself as he was shown messing around with Tykva; Gamon's cat.

With a sweatdrop, over his head appearing comically. Garfield would jump off of Heero's head and fly over to Calico. Lowering himself down behind him on camera comically.

"Did you say cats?!" Garfield would randomly yell in Calico's ear before he would turn around and see, a flying orange cat hovering there mid-air. Although if he knew about the Exceed race of cats---he wouldn't be that surprised. But if he'd never seen one before he might flip out. Garfield would land on a nearby table; so that he had more height, as his wings disappeared. His tail swished as he inspected Jack; his eyes then settling on the bag of bread.

"His name is Tykva." Heero spoke up for the black cat, Gamon's pet. "You must've traveled....I haven't seen you around Magnolia before." the wizard who had bested Savage Skulls 1st Guildmaster, who had pushed back an invasion, and even saved Fiore from a corrupt Chairman of the Magic Council once; would look over and stare Calico in his eyes, even from the stage.

For awhile, Heero just held eye contact as one does when they meet someone new. Eventually though; he would salute Calico with two fingers on his bandaged hand and arm; nodding for him to approach the stage and sit with him on it when he was ready. When he did, Heero would speak to him without even turning his head as a shot of them from the side was shown.

"I'm assuming you're not here for the morning bacon, or to file a Job Request with the Guild." Heero closed his eyes as he spoke. "So....I see you've met Julius, and Gamon...the first of the two isn't even old enough to drink...don't tell the Rune Knights I let him, he's only nineteen but his guildmates who are like older brothers to him drink; so who am I to stop him.....he's a good kid. And more pure of heart than anyone I've ever met." Heero looked up again, opening his eyes. "Except me of course! I mean, I am the greatest after all!" Heero would say randomly, but the look on his face said that he was only joking. "So, why are you here? Parents got tired of you wasting your Magical talents?" Heero would blink a few times randomly. He could sense he was a wizard But perhaps he was wrong maybe he was here to file a Job Request. Although something told Heero that things weren't that simple with him.

Post by Calico 8th November 2015, 1:07 pm

Calico raise his head up just a little, and his eyes sunk back at what he witnessed. "Is... is that a cat.. or a bird!?" The blond man had to point right at the flying orange exceed to make sure everyone else could see what he did. "And did it talk?" The sudden strange turn of events made Calico doubt his own sanity for a moment but when he looked around, everyone seemed so calm and merry. It was as if seeing a flying, talking cat was a regular occurrence for them. It ceased with pointing his finger and reeled it back in with a hint of embarrassment in shame. I've been out of this country for too long... or this place is just a madhouse. The exceed got to work on his bag of bread which surprisingly calmed Calico. It made the flying feline seem more human.

There was man on stage whom Calico would later know as Heero. Calico had not even realized he was there until he spoke aloud and gave the black cat's name.He didn't respond to the man on stage, only nodded with a humble smirk. When Heero signaled the newcomer over, Calico hesitated only slightly. He knew not what the man wanted, but he figured it was for a friendly reason. "Here, Tykva." Calico dropped the bread roll he held next to Tykva's feet and left the group to head up on stage and took a seat.

The conversation started how Calico suspected: with friendly banter. The serious question came last, the most import one. Why was he there?

"Let me tell you a story...There used to be a boy, a dumb boy," he chuckled, "and he had big dreams of joining the great wizard's guild in Magnolia Town. This boy had a niche for magic from young age. His friend did too... so when they grew up, the boy who was then a man planned to join that guild... but his friend talked him out of it." Nostalgia set in Calico's murky eyes. "That man and his friend instead went to different countries, selling their services as mages to anyone who'd hire them. They did it for over a decade, made a bunch of money over those years, and had some wild times. The man grew tired of it though... he felt empty, like he'd done nothing with his life, and wanted to return to his dream of joining the guild from his childhood. The friend didn't want to go though, so they decided they'd do just one more job together and part ways. But when  they went on that last job, the man didn't make it. He never got to join that guild."

There was a long pause followed by a look of sorrow in his eyes.

"To put it short, I'm here to join Fairy Tail on behalf of a friend."

Heero would close his eyes, almost being able to put himself place by place right alongside Calico as he told Heero the story. Eventually, he would open his eyes and look mildly somber. Beginning to understand.

A shot of them side by side leaning on the stage was shown, as Heero eventually closed his eyes and spoke.

"W-wow! He'd do that for a friend?" Garfield smiled at Calico, swishing his tail from the floor awhile until his ear twitched at the sound of Heero's voice.

"Well---I suppose I can tell you one as well." he would then close his eyes and recite. "There was once a boy, born into a family that lived on Akane Beach. His mom, dad, and older sister adored him as the youngest of the family. He was born a celestial spirit wizard, which was even more rare than being born a wizard...then one day; a terrible hurricane flings his house off into the ocean--his mom and dad don't make it." opening his eyes, he looked up at the ceiling so as not to get emotional. "The little girl his sister is found by the Founder of Eclipse Soul, and raised there..." he spoke of Alye, the 2nd Guildmaster of Eclipse Soul---she'd gone missing last year and hadn't been heard from since. "The little boy however...floats at sea, until a Dragon finds him. This dragon teaches him to fight, read and write languages he never knew." he recalled his days learning Lightning Dragon Slayer from Zeuslogia. "But then one day, his big ol' Golden Dragon just leaves him stranded in the Spooky Forest.......however, his luck wasn't out just yet. A young wizard by the name of Leonard found him wandering alone, just 11. He brought that young man to Fairy Tail, where he would make his first real friends. Having only been raised at home with his family; and by a Dragon." he would always owe Leonard for that, saving him from homelessness and possibly much worse.

He would open his eyes and then look to the right at Jack Calico.

"That was before all my wild adventures saving Fiore a few times and what not...." Heero would rub the back of his head briefly by habit before, he would point a bandaged finger like 'poke' through the air at Calico, before crossing his arms again.

"After what you've just told me.....I'd be hard pressed to find someone who would be..." for a split moment, Heero saw a spirit. A young man who seemed to be smiling at Calico. Heero blinked once after staring at it for 5 seconds, and then it was gone as swiftly as it came. Was it because of his training with Grandine? Learning Milky Way? Who was that? "I...thought I saw something. But.." he would hold his hand out as a young woman from the Guild brought him a black box. Opening it, there was a stamp in the Fairy Tail insignia inside resting on white ink. "This is Magical Ink, and it will only remain on wizards who are truly Fairy Tail wizards in their heart. It will solidify into the color of your choosing, but only once---all you have to do is tell me where."

As soon as Calico chose his spot, Heero would stamp him with the Guild Tattoo. As the crest would sparkle and settle onto him; Heero would smile knowing that he truly held the conviction necessary to be a wizard of Fairy Tail.

"Well, I'm Heero. Heero Reyold. 5th Master of Fairy Tail...what should we call you?"

"I think we should just call him---" Garfield would hop onto a table and wave his hand epicly in front of himself as he imagined a name. "----BADASS!" as the cat continued to sparkle comically, Heero would get a sweatdrop in the background.

"Took all day to come up with that one did ya?" he mocked his Exceed for just a moment.
