Hana grunted as the Major's lance pushed her back again. He was still strong, even after taking her roar head on. However...

"Raagh!" she growled, defiance alight in her eyes as she pushed forward with her chains, wrapping as many as she could around her arms while a few others continued to spring at the Major in all directions. Her feet dug into her ground, her teeth gritted and she continued to throw one strike after another with all her might.

'More. I need more speed, more power. His lance won't break so easily - I'll have to get past both the lance and armor. The armor should be easier though, it looks like more magic's focused in the Lance. I just have to hit hard enough.' she thought to herself, a look of determination setting into her once stone-cold face. She made a left, eyes shifting to his left side as she brought her arm towards his side with all her might. He spotted this, as she had intended for him to, and tugged her hand to the right just before the punch landed, giving him a hard hit in the right abdomen. The cracks along his armor increased, and she jumped back a little just in time to miss the flames from reaching her. She had felt the heat up close, one touch and she was as good as a kebab roasting on his Lance.

She clicked her tongue in annoyance again. His armor was almost done for, but his Lance was the problem. It had a longer reach than she would have, which made getting to him difficult. She wouldn't always be so lucky to dodge the lance, it would come down on her sooner or later. By the looks of it, he was starting to take her seriously, so it was likely he wouldn't fall for the same trick twice. "What's wrong, child? Too chicken to finish the fight you started?" Hana huffed. As if. "Then prove me wrong, my dear."

Dozens more of strikes landed, but most of them did little against his armed. Every hit made her fists hurt a lot more, even with her ally's healing spell. Her knuckles hurt; armor against bare skin was the worst combination ever, especially when that armor was so damn hot. She hissed as the man's Lance came spiraling in her direction, slicing at her upper right arm. The smell of burning flesh, unpleasant and distracting, made everything worse. She was tired - the fight had been on for at most a brief half hour or so, but it felt like it had been forever.

However, she could keep up. Though she probably lacked the power to stand on equal ground with the Major, her experience gave her a large enough boost such that she could hold her own and keep fighting. Stamina and speed were her specialties, she couldn't lose to this man. Not when he was so slow, thanks to the heavy armor he sported.

Her gaze hardened, taking on their steel look once more after a brief moment of cloudiness. Her eyes remained wide open, never leaving the Major. She smirked slightly when he began faltering. His movements were becoming more forced, even if the decrease in smoothness and swiftness was very little, it was clear that he was starting to feel the strain armor put on him. [color=#9966ff\'He won't have to worry about it though. It seems it's most finished,'[/color] she thought, eyeing the cracks. now would be the best time to give it all she had - strike the weakest points of his armor and break through, then finish him off while she had the upper hand. She could see how the plan carried out in her mind, and nearly everything would be in her favour should she penetrate his defenses. If she didn't... That would be another story, but she could work that out somehow. Improvising would be a good skill to brush up on for her, after all.

The woman readies herself for the final shot, and with a battle cry, lunges thirty chains to different areas of his armor, watching in amusement as he panicked, unsure of where to defend. The chains kept him busy for the moment, and she immediately weaved magic into a spell, blades forming behind the distracted man. As he swung his Lance in an effort to deflect all the chains and protect his armor from further damage, the dance of wind and blades behind him latched onto him, slicing repeatedly as his back like a chainsaw would. His armor gives way, and red hot blood sprays out, coating the weapons and the ground behind. He yells, whether in surprise or pain she was unsure of, but his defeat was as clear as a bell. His lance falls to the ground, the splendid flickering flames dying out the moment it hit the ground, and the Major collapsed to the ground in a heap of shattered armor and dust. A final wave of chains erupted from the fair maiden's back, piercing through the man's torso before the whirlwind of blades finished the job and landed the killing blow.

Red spread out across the ground in rivulets, all leading to the pool that slowly increased beneath his chest. Glassy eyes stared at her accusingly, but all she could feel was the adrenaline slowly fading away, before physical pains kicked in. Panting, she fell backwards, landing on her begins with a thump as she heaved out a sigh , relieved that the ordeal was over. The sense of pride and accomplishments was slightly foreign, but she welcomed it along with the smell of ash and blood. "Takashi... My father will be proud, won't he?" she spoke, to no one in particular. Her mentor sighs.

"Indeed child, he will."

Looking to the night sky, Hana sighed again, having regained most of her composure she'd thrown away mid-fight. She looked to the Major, wondering whether his head or entire body should be taken as the bounty. Her question was answered the moment she thought of it, as a lizard-like creature she recognized as Seikatsu's companion flew over, disembodying the Major's head from his corpse.

The head was brought over to her, where out of respect, she brought his eyelids down for the fallen warrior. She would not refer to him as a hero - painting things black and white were exactly what the Magic Council did. "May he rest in peace." she murmured, although it was probably not the case. He was after all, murdered in cold blood, without knowing the fate of his aging parents. They had probably expected him to come home safely as well, for a cosy little reunion and warm meal.

She got up, legs numb from kneeling as a bloodied hand reached out for the decapitated head. She frowned in distaste when she noticed that the blood was already dried and crusty, wishing she'd brought some form of cleaning material to take care of bloodstains. The cloak she had on before was long gone for sure, so now she wore only her usual battle wear.

Locating Seikatsu took a short while, his scent mixed with the many overlapping smells of the burning buildings and blood. On her way, she passes by the carcass of a familiar child. She recognized her immediately, but showed little remorse on her face. She turned away from the wide-eyed corpse; the girl probably didn't die too happy. Unfortunate, but it was the same with the many others she'd slaughtered overnight. This was all part and parcel of her job. She was not to lament, she was not to regret, she reminded herself. There was no room for weakness in her. After a while, she found her ally support by a wall, complete with his side of the job requirements. "... Well done. Here's the Major's head, we can recieve payment now. My apologies for releasing the girl back there - she would've escaped and raised an alarm if not for you." she holds the decapitated head up to him, barely flinching at the blood dripping down.

Confusion was imminent for Hana the moment Seikatsu's gaze softened, his hand finding it's way to the top of her head. It was as if he was a sort of father figure, or perhaps a senior. His words, his speech, everything made her wonder how old he really was. He sounded like someone who had lived far beyond his time. Or maybe he was the spiritual or philosophical type.

A very, very small part of her wanted to believe what he said - that despite her profession, there was no need to freeze her heart over. But another part was aware that if that armor of ice was thawed, she would have to deal with vulnerability. The brief period of time where she'd let her guard down amongst her last guild, was like a nightmare to her. Everything she experienced was terrifyingly foreign and burdensome, to the point where Takashi had noticed the change. He was not pleased with her at all, and neither was she. It was like he said - there was no room for weakness amongst the Suzukis. It was the same for her other step-siblings. The strong were favored, the weak denied of his praise and attention.

She watched as Lisa's size multiplied to many times her previous, somberness lingering about in the air with the coppery scent of spilt life fluid. She bows her head as he leaves, deciding to place her trust in him about the money. "I trust you speak the truth. Still, I will find you should payment not be received, one way or another. I have eyes in many places. Farewell, for now. It was a pleasure doing business with you." she speaks, as if she was of no threat to him. However, such was very much the opposite. She simply had no need to threaten him, she meant it as more of a warning. As the creature, resembling more of a dragon now, took flight with her master seated on her, she gives a traditional Japanese bow, clearly showing that she gave him her respect.
